They were very accommodating and the location was great for beach access. Located at the quieter end of the island, the rooms were clean and well-kept. I definitely recommend this family owned business!

Perfect location on the island! We rode the free bikes to the beach which was only a mile away! Nice clean rooms with oversized mini fridge! We would definitely consider staying here again!

My fiancé and I were looking for a quaint space to get away from the craziness of life and this place was perfect! Dawn was amazing, and provided everything you could need for a beach get away — chairs, wagon, umbrella, and even bikes were available on site! The location was an easy walk to the beach or bay side of the Island. It is also across the street from delicious breakfast, souvenir shops and ice cream! My only complaint would be the comfort of the mattress, but we will totally be booking again and recommending the Tarpon Tale Inn to friends and family!

We rented here for our son and his girlfriend and they loved it. They liked the room and the outdoor seating and the location.

Near everything, clean, quiet and has everything you need for the perfect vacation.

My husband and I had an amazing time staying at the Tarpon Tale Inn! Dawn, the manager, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and was a phone call away if we needed anything. The room was clean and spacious and offered everything we needed during our stay. The bicycles were an added bonus! We highly recommend staying here and are sure we will be coming back next time we visit Sanibel.

The Tarpon Tale Inn is our favorite place when a Sanibel Island… it’s the perfect spot away from it all. The back yard even inspired our own beach home back home!

The most lovely little gem of a place to stay at the beach! If my own little fantasy beach cabin could come to life this would be it! The outdoor space is beautiful and the interior space is lovely. This little in has everything you could ever wish for to enjoy your stay on Sanibel Island! From beach umbrellas and chairs to The little wagon to carry it all to the beach in this little place has everything you could ever need! The most favorite little place we’ve ever stayed in! I’m already planning my next vacation there!

Our favorite place to stay on Sanibel Island! Great amenities. Wonderful staff. Beautiful clean rooms with everything you could possibly need. There’s a place to wash your seashell treasures at the end of a fun beach day too! Great location too! Near Lighthouse where there is great shelling!

They have the most free use of amenities of anywhere on Sanibel: bikes, chairs, umbrellas, toys, wagons, etc. Even a gas BBQ grill. Nice shel…l cleaning station, laundry room, computer and landline in office, homemade cookies, area brochurez, ALSO on chalkboard Sanibel Island tide chart in office. Off road parking. NICEST grounds for any resort have EVER been to! True Sanibel Paradise, for sure… shady with fossil rock pathways, chairs, hammock, swing. Even your own patio with table and chairs. Room for your shells to dry out Great location near fishing pier & shelling at Sanibel Lighthouse. Across from Homemade ice cream and deli for breakfast and lunch. Am repeat stayer! Look forward to my next stay! Best kept secret quaint, shady quiet place! 5 Stars despite no pool nor directly on Gulf-just a short walk.

So nice and quiet, situated on a location very near to the beach.
Super friendly personal, right away you feel very much at home here. The cottage is roomy, nicely decorated and very clean. There are free bikes you can use. We just loved it!

We loved this place! Comfy and quiet — the perfect getaway. We plan to return when it’s not so hot so we can take advantage of the lounges, hammocks and bikes. Great breakfast and shopping right across the street! ❤️

Great place. Nice and clean and very welcoming. We checked ourselves in with no problem. You a few minutes walk to the beach. Bikes are provided. A very relaxed atmosphere with tables outside your room. Seems like your own little cottage. Coffee and cookies in lounge or you have coffee in your little kitchenette.

Tarpon Tale Inn was quiet, cozy and peaceful. They are minutes from the beach walking or biking (they provide complimentary bicycles to guests). Overall a lovely place to stay and the lady in the office, Dawn, was super nice. We will definitely stay here again.

One of the most cosy, convenient place I've ever been. They provide everything u need on beach for free. To take a bicykle tour is great fun. Apartman has a good size.

We had a great time at the Tarpon Tale Inn. Very friendly and helpful service, very nice rooms, a coffee corner, free cruise bikes to expore the island. The beach is really close. I can recommend it in any ways.

Great hotel! I love this place. Our friends stay here and with all the extras, how clean the rooms are, and how nice the owners are, I would wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone considering a relaxing stay at Sanibel Island!

Nice place to stay. Room was nice and comfortable and cozy. Nobody at office but we can call to hotel people when we need something. But nobody answer the phone. So we didn't have enough shampoo and soap. Stiil nice place to stay so I guess I need bring owe shampoo and soap for next time.

Arriving at night, dawn had pinned our envelope to the front desk, we communicated by email to tell him that we would arrive around 7pm. Our parking space was shown on the document our room was open with the keys inside, Sanibel is safe… We had the seashell 2, nice little room with sofa table café fridge, a bathroom, clean super well placed there room it does not look out on the street but rather on a space laid out with sunlounge, hammock, garden, barbecue. Very quiet. Small table in front of the room for aperitif or dinner, ready bikes without anti-theft but Sanibel is safe … 2 nights spent really well. At the office there is a coffee machine pods and cookies the bare minimum but it's better than nothing. We didn't see dawn… He comes by at certain times, we left the keys in the room and we left by warning dawn by e-mail. Nice experience on the island. Thank you dawn the tarpon is really very very nice.

Located just a block from the beach, this is a quaint little Inn in a quiet location. This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and I will definitely continue to return here. I stayed in the room named Lighthouse 1. The room was spacious with a full kitchen, which is nice because eating out everyday can get quite pricey on the island. The outdoor area has plenty of seating areas including hammocks and swings to enjoy the beautiful weather. The staff have always been friendly and very helpful.

Charming, quaint, cottage-like! Lovely inn-keeper, couldn't be nicer or more helpful! Room very clean, with fridge, coffee maker. Outside, private place to sit and dine or swing. Complete with beach towels, chairs, umbrella, bikes inclusive. Lovely. Would definitely return and highly recommend! Breakfast across the road. Beach around the corner.

Super simple "handling" with the journey. We arrived about later … everything was in the office for us and we could get the "Bird House. " All super cute made. The cottages have come up a bit in the years, which you see in some corners (if you look closely). But everything was clean and nicely done.
Location is also a super-10 minute walk to the beach.
Only shortcoming: The bed was far too soft and squealing and the air conditioning was a bit louder than we were used to.
All in all, we would definitely be staying there again.

Good and cheap accommodation. Even those who arrive later will get the key and prepare the room. Only four stars because the climate is extremely noisy and the bed is far too soft. For one night though definitely ok.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. Wish we had more time. It's quaint and quiet. The room is spacious, clean, and homey. This place is super comfortable. The shells on the beach are amazing. When I walked out and saw the abundance of shells everywhere — — I was dumbfounded. In some spots it hurts your feet because there are so many shells underfoot. The staff here does a great job. Can't wait to come back soon. I think we've found a new home away from home. Thanks Dawn!

We travel a lot, stay in many places. We love quiet and privacy, and the ability to enjoy sitting outside. This by far meets all that and more. There is nothing in the reviews or that I could say that will prepare you for the wonderful stay you'll have here. The room was perfect, the host was perfect and the island was perfect. Hands down better than the stay in the keys.

Amazing! We were 5 days from arriving in Sanibel and a problem popped up with our original location we were going to be staying at. I did a quick search of places to stay and I kept seeing great reviews for Tarpon Tale. I checked the website and called with my fingers crossed. I spoke with Dawn who was patient and kind and was able to fit us in! She gave me all of the info I needed for check in/amenities/local places to eat/etc. She also told me I was going to be pleasantly surprised. Dawn was not joking. She had us in the Captain's Cottage which was perfect. The entire Inn is perfect. Clean, very well taken care of, QUIET, close to the beach (seriously close-5 min walk), non smoking, no pets. The unit has a full kitchen-fully stocked with glasses, plates, cook ware, etc. They provide beach chairs, umbrellas, beach carts, a shell washing station, so much more to list! The Tarpon Tale Inn was EXACTLY what I had in mind when we decided to go to Sanibel. Another good point is the Inn is on the quiet part of the island. There is a lot of care that goes into this Inn and it definitely shows.

Gas BBQ utensils to do so fresh herbs for seasoning si k and counter to to prepare food tables for and for 6 w umbrellas hammocks. Beach chars beach umbrellas. Roomy rooms w sofa frogs microwave toaster plates cups glasses flatware napkins coffe pot w coffe sugar cream. Free Wi-Fi free parking. Excellent service. What more can a customer ask for.

We loved our stay at the Tarpon Tale Inn, it's a beautiful place. It was also great to being able to take of of the bikes to explore the island, excellent!

Very friendly and almost familiar. We've been there 2 times and we're going back there.
