Beautiful room looking over the pool. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only negative of the entire stay was the chocolate mousse from the restaurant. Which is barely worth mentioning, but it's the only thing I could think of!

4 only because the staff was super nice and rooms were clean but to cater to a wider clientele, they should have more mirrors and better lighting in their bathroom and bedrooms. It was a test to room with a fellow friend and attempt to do our makeup. Everything took twice as long. Bed linens were clean and bed was comfy. Pool area also cute and you can access the ocean via the hotel — no need to go out on main street.

Wonderful art decor hotel with a beautiful infinity pool. Atmosphere inviting and friendly, walking distance to all venues. Carlos, the beach attendant was awesome attending to our needs on the beach.

This property has great service and a awesome location. I would give National a stiff 4 stars if all the rooms looked like the "pool cabanas. " If you're stay is one of the pool cabana rooms, then the stay will definitely be at the least a 4star stay. I have tried twice to stay in a regular room and I could not do it. The stench of mildew overwhelms. Maybe three times is the charm.

PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! We were approached by staff members who rudely asked us to leave the premise because they assumed we were not guest. It wasn't until I presented my room key card and room number that they backed off. I've never been so humiliated in my life! No apologies were issued. I felt as they were signaling to us that we didn't belong. I was certainly offended! It was like we were singled out. The management didn't not show any remorse nor put forth any efforts to resolve the issue. The staff at this establishment were rude and unorganized. I most definitely will not ever book with them again.

Plenty of pros, for sure. The lobby, restaurants, and pool/outside area were good. The location along South beach was great! It's amazing to be able to get from room to beach in a couple of minutes. However, I found the rooms to be somewhat small and very dated. They could definitely benefit from an upgrade! This was also extremely variable depending on which floor you were on. There was a feeling that they had built in as many rooms as possible; one of the rooms was in the stairwell itself, and the sound proofing was not good.

It's in a great location in South Beach but the rooms are just a bit run down for the price. Be sure to check out Priceline and book randomly to cut cost — we got our listing off of there and it really helped. Don't book here if you are not okay with music being played from 11am-11pm. Anyone not wanting to party would be better booking somewhere else.

Considering the expense and hidden charges, this was the worst hotel experience of my life — — and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. Bad service — — from the valet parking, the bellhops, front desk, restaurant staff, you name it. The employees seem miserable and demoralized. Management is nowhere to be seen. $28.50 per day resort fee and $42.80 per night to park. Outdated and tacky "rock and roll rebel" decor, trying way too hard to be hip. LOUD! From the music blasting nonstop in the pool area, to the live disco band playing to zero customers at the bar, to the people partying int the rooms, it was an attack on the eardrums. And the worst part of this was the elevators. There's only 2 and they're small, fitting only 5 people. Totally inadequate for a hotel this size and I can't believe there aren't codes addressing this. In the morning we would wait up to ten minutes, couldn't get on when it stopped at our floor because it was too crowded, and then we'd walk down 6 flights of stairs with a three year old. Then on the last day of my stay, one of the elevators broke, and was stuck on our floor with the door open. Couldn't get downstairs with only the one elevator working. As of noon, they had made no attempt to fix it. Again, I had to make the trip up and down 6 flights of stairs to transport my 3 year old and lots of suitcases. Eight people in front of me checking out, with one employee manning the front desk. It was an exercise in suffering, not a vacation.

The location is unbeatable, the common areas are wonderful although obviously being a space of so much tradition is already a bit out of the modern comforts and spaces that can offer other hotels, I recommend for those nostalgic of times Classic.

Hotel is in a good location with restaurants, bars, convenience stores, liquor stores, etc. All within walking distance. The hotel seems well kept and has direct beach access. The property has a restaurant and multiple bars. We stayed in a cabana room overlooking the pool with a side view of the ocean and would stay here again.

Beautiful Art Deco hotel with 62 metre long pool that had as guests international stars and distinguished American politicians.

In love with this hotel, just enter you have a very good aroma. It is close to everything but it feels a lot of tranquility and relaxation.
The staff is friendly, we did an upgrade to a cabana which had a huge balcony overlooking the pool.
Breakfast was a la carte but it was very good and we were able to have breakfast with a lot of tranquility. We wish we could spend more time there and enjoy the pools.

I just have dinner at the Restaurant. It was a relaxing atmosphere with a great tasting, fresh, well presented food. The prices were reasonable. Among the different choices of plates, there is a dinner menu for $39 with a starter, a entre, and a desert (for each selection you can choose between 3 different plates) I love the decoration, lights, and view in the terrace. It also offered live music.

Very nice hotel. Original lobby but looks modern. One of the best hotel bars In the area. Nice long lap pool with rooms over looking and easy beach access. Has outside bar and kitchen… if you don't stay stop in for a drink at the inside bar and walk out. Super frendly staff… Worth the stop or stay.

Overall, a decent "vintage" experience. It's in a great central location with plenty of dining options close by. Positives: -Staff was friendly and helpful -pool area was well kept -beach front was clean Negatives: — no bathroom fans. Not great for showering, or other bathroom functions. — toilet paper so thin you can see through it. We had to purchase our own. — no bed sheet, just the fitted sheet and a comforter. — overpowering cologne smell in lobby (nice fragrance, bu way too much! )

Excellent. Good location. The only charge 25 dollars per day for service… towels Wi-Fi etc. To keep in mind because nobody tells you.

Overall nice hotel. The staff is very friendly, service oriented and responsive. What you would expect at a luxury flagged hotel. The pools outside amenities and beach service was excellent. The restaurants are good, pricey. Gratuities are included on all checks @ 20%. Got a great rate on a small but nicely appointed room which oddly had the entrance off the main hallway in the stair well. Great modern Reno of old hotel but suffering from small slow elevators.

As much I liked the super long pool and the location with South Beach on foot, but the rooms antiquated and the worst a rented room on the floor below the renovations, hyper noisy from 8am to 8pm. Deplorable! We should have gone anywhere else.

Hotel in the public context is nice, even the pool. The rooms I saw didn't really please.

The internet is bad it is constantly disconnected. Room service is not good either. The bathroom is for half a person, if one is a little big it doesn't fit anymore.

We were given a complimentary "upgrade" to a room by the pool. Unfortunately, it was an "accessible" room with a smaller bed than originally requested (queen instead of king). Everything else was great, though! They have a heated outdoor pool. They're right on the beach. They have a wonderful restaurant with lovely live entertainment! Despite the unfortunate upgrade, I think we got a great deal here!

Friendly staff all over. The pool area is surprisingly large and nice. They do have a nice breakfast buffet for $25. Location is also very good, close to Lincoln Rd and center of Collins. They also have a decent Piano bar. 3 stars primarily because the hotel is a bit dated, stained wood all over the room, TV encased in wood (in 2017). They did have a refrigerator but ice machine. You have to request ice from the front desk. Not a bad hotel by any means but I probably won't go back. I prefer a more updated contemporary style hotel. It is a ocean front hotel.

Overall excellent experience at the National Hotel. The service was great. There were always fresh towels and water at the beach/pool. The food was good but a bit pricey. The only negative was the drinks were over priced and definitely made with bottom shelf liquor but I think this is par for the course in Miami. We opted to buy our own liquor and make our own drinks. Besides this, I would be happy to recommend this hotel. We booked a joint flight/hotel through Expedia and got a good last minute deal!

A couple of times I have stayed at this hotel. It has some certain particularities, like a shower in the rooms. This however is compensated by its historical pedigree, pleasant restaurant, and interesting people. This time I had to stop for one night in Miami Beach and I took advantage of an application that offers rooms on a coming night in hotels depending on the current geolocation with a big discount. When I saw the room at the National Hotel, I immediately booked it with anticipation. Maybe this is a coincidence, maybe the hotel offers this type of room for similar applications, but I would like to briefly note the conditions of the room. It is worth noting that the room has front ocean view but the quality of the room can best be described as rundown. The carpet is threadbare and misshapen, there were no slippers, no minibar, no hairdryer. The bathroom had a very low and slippery bathtub with huge inconvenient shower construction mounted on the wall in it. Quite a particular, no peculiar room.

Absolutely amazing place to celebrate a special event! We went the weekend before Halloween to celebrate November birthdays and were given a complimentary upgrade to what we were told was the “best” room in the place, 1703. The room and especially views were much more than we were expecting and we can’t wait to go back. We didn’t dine on premise this trip but did birthday brunch there the 2 years prior and their buffet was more than worth it. I️ would recommend this hotel to anyone looking in Miami.

Upon first glance, this place is lovely and upscale… Look a little closer, and things start to fall apart. Ex. The shower looks lovely, but you can't adjust the water for a super hot/chilly shower… The make-up remover packaging is beautiful, but the cloth was old and dry… The bed looks very cozy, but once you lay down, the pillows have no volume and fall completely flat… The customer service is absolutely horrid — except for one man behind the desk that checked us in… All this being said — — the restaurant was absolutely amazing; their custom cocktails were delicious; and the live music sounded professional.

I loved the hotel especially the pools a giant. Very good attention.

Hotel staff is incredibly helpful and professional. Hotel is small boutique style. Rooms were nice and provided enough space. Hotel has a wet smell. I'm sure that's because Miami is so humid. My other hotel smelled the same. They have a cabana pool area and access to the beach with chairs they provide. Overall I would stay here again.

Fancy hotel with an awesome pool. Small mini fridge and a policy that you sign paper saying you won't bring your own food or drink in the room are the negatives. But it is a very nice hotel in a great location.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful very scenic and had great service with a helpful and professional staff ready to caterer to your every need. Located right off S. Beach within walk distance of great restaurants, shops, and is a beach front property. The room was clean and beautifully decorated I would recommend the pool cabana suites with balconies. The food is delicious and the beach side service is great. I would definitely return.

Sunday brunch was a great experience. Went during Miami Spice, Miami's annual restaurant event highlighting the best eateries in town. For the first time Miami Spice is adding brunch to their offering which are normally just lunch and dinner. The food did not disappoint. Exclusive buffet abundant in quantity and qualitym The Mimosas and Bloody Mary's were excellent… Service as fabulous as it can be expected from a restaurant located in an Oceanfront South Beach hotel. You must visit this location, either as a hotel guest or for drinks or a meal… You will love to experience it for yourself!

Nice hotel with a beautiful swimming pool. Clean and simple room with a nice view of the beach and the sea. Very nice hotel and with private access to the beach.

The NH is a secret gem hidden right in the middle of where all the fun is. Every place we wanted to go was within walking distance. Many of the guest we're family traveling from Europe. The staff were professional and quick. I can't wait to come back.

The hotel vibe was very welcoming and everyone was soooo nice and showed true hospitality. If you go for this hotel, make sure you book the cabana rooms. These rooms are much larger and overlook the infinity pool and they all have balcony's. The regular rooms are very very small and the bathrooms are tiny as well but very neat and clean. The restaurant within the hotel was awesome, brunch is served daily and Sunday's bunch is even better! their french toast was everything! I would definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel done in the art deco style. Beautifully remodeled to the original style. Great breakfast here. Scrambled eggs done in the creamy, runny undercooked style that a human being will love.

Room wasn't ready, and then was double booked. Once we actually got in, it was an excellent experience. Comfortable room, great food and pool, and beach access.

I do not think either that you charge by the use of towels, pool and beach umbrellas. And the garage is expensive. But apart from that the hotel is very nice and has a care of first.

This hotel should be 5 stars. It is amazing in every way. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. It is the best hotel by South Beach. It holds a record for the longest pool in Miami Beach! We got help from Luis M. From management. Thank you Luis! I would reccomend this hotel to anyone.

The people that give the National Bad ratings are either overweight or can't afford a great time. Who cares about paying $5 for a Coke or $20 for a drink. This is miami. If you want to feel like you are in Miami stay here. If you want one of the best locations to walk to bars, clubs and shopping stay here. If you want fun in the sun and one the best pools in south Florida stay here.

The rooms are amazing and the hotel is located in an amazing location. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting south beach but also looking for not so much craziness.

For the price, I've stayed in many better horels, for even half of what I paid, I've seen better "4-star" hotels. From the tiny 5 person elevator that clanks on every floor, to the tiny outdated rooms and the sub 1Mbps Wi-Fi (I'd it even worked), there wasn't anything special about this hotel. The food was good and the staff was great, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would I ever return.

Enjoyable stay thus far. Staying here for a work conference. Great location.

Look of the hotel would be 4 stars, but do to the rest of the cons, I can only give the National 2 stars. I guess I will start off with the positive. Pros: 1 — The hotel is beautiful taking you back in time to the early 20th century. 2 — The room was nice and clean. Cons: 1 — The Toilet not being the correct size for the toilet itself. The toilet seat was so small when your legs rested on the toilet bowl itself. Gross! See Photo. On a few occasions, we requested them to change it out. They sent a employee to look at it. He said he would be right on it. Needless to say, it never was replaced with the correct size. 2 — There is no guest Ice Machines on the entire property. I have never seen this before. We requested room service to bring us some ice. It came in a small bag for that fit in the usual ice bucket that comes with most rooms. We had a ice chest that needed to be filled. I had to go across the street to purchase bags of ice. 3 — There were no vending machines on the entire property. If you wanted a coke, you would have to purchase it from the bar or restaurant. I heard one person say that it was around $4 for a coke. I'm guessing that they would add a mandatory 18% gratuity to the purchase. On that note, all purchases have a mandatory 18% gratuity added to the bill. Note: that is most services industries in Miami Beach. 4 — This is a big pet peeve for me. They would not let you bring your own drinks and food to the pool and common areas.

For years I spend my holidays in this hotel, now I am almost one of family. Very good hotel and very friendly staff.

I was renting this hotel for 7 nights. The hotel is great. Everything is new, the bathroom, bedroom and another thing in excellent conditions. Really good pool, not crowded. It is really nice place to relax. But, there were 3 peoples and all the time we felt uncomfortable. First, we booked with request with 2 beds but we got only 1. We insisted on having the room with 2 beds. But it took them 2 days to give us this room. First night we spent with a cot. The Service fees is not included in original price. The chairs is included in service fees BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR UMBRELLAS extra $19! No matter what kind of room you rented and how many peoples lives there it only 2 CHAIRS PER ROOM and we were surprised with extra $13 charge fess for one extra chairs.

Great Hotel! Enjoyed my stay! Definitely going BACK! Good points; great pool area, right on the beach, good location right near to Lincoln Road shopping area, good food, everyone is very friendly, great service, great prices.

The charm of the hotel lies only in its swimming pool, the rest is to forget, the breakfast buffet is ridiculous (just two meters long and the freshness of the food leaves to be desired), the "so-called" restaurant is only a large room without charm where Tables are posed without harmony and coherence. The hotel is not very hot.
Last point disappointing: too much French in the hotel, it's like Paris! Few Americans and non-francophone foreigners, not very displaced!
