I stayed here for one night in their most expensive upstairs suite and paid nearly $400 for this stay. Upon arrival, we were pleased with the room and view. However, bedtime was a totally different experience. We were woken up at 3:30am then again at 4:30am by the noise of a bunch of drunk cussing 20-somethings outside our window. The thin windows and the placement of the lounge chairs by the room below us made it seem as if the noise was right inside our room! We tried calling someone at the hotel office but there was no one to reach. Apparently once the hotel store closes at 11pm there is no one from the hotel staff to help with anything. I found this out the next morning when we expressed our dissatisfaction to the hotel front desk attendant. She seemed dismissive of our complaint so we asked to speak with the owner. We were told that the owner was out of town and would call is. A week later and still no call. What a disappointment this experience was. Definitely not worthy of nearly $400!

There are no pools but it in a minute walk over to the beach and Fort Myers central square… who needs a pool*
CLEAN! Very clean, safe & a perfect location! The Shipwreck store is wonderful as well. We stayed at the motel for 3 nights and it was perfect. Not a spot of dust in sight and witnessed their detailed cleaning. At the end of the week we stayed 2 nights. Well 1 1/2 nights at LightHouse Resort across the street and we had literal roaches. Woke up at 4am the following morning and killed 3. I am forever sticking to Shipwreck Motel. The price. Quality. Location. Cleanliness… you can’t beat it! 10000000% recommend this location!

Rooms were fine. Advertised 3 pools. They were all filled in so no pools. Ice machine broken. Front desk gave us $2 to walk to 7/11 to buy ice. Are u kidding me? Wi-Fi in room was horrible. Had to go outside by boat docks to get Wi-Fi so I wouldn’t get booted off. Off season rate 110. Should have been 50

Cute rooms with a fridge and range to cook on. Our room was do close to the pool you could take 3 steps and jump in. They have a huge fishing pier and grills to cook out. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach I loved it.

I stayed at Shipwreck. My cabin was poolside, but then again, most of them are! Great time, and right in the center of shopping central. Highly reccommended.

We’ve been coming to the shipwreck for the last 5 or 6 years every Spring stay almost 3 weeks! Love it there, close to everything the beach very friendly and very clean place! The staff is great and friendly! Highly recommend! Can’t wait til April we’ll be staying there again❤️

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Shipwreck Motel. I love the fact that this is a family ran motel! This motel is a few blocks from the beach and has a dock over the water. Thank you for having us!

I enjoyed it there. Merchandising is cheap for being a tourist shop. Unfortunately I didn't do the Motel, but I really enjoyed the shop.

I didn't actually stay here but I lost my wallet in the gift shop and the employees found it and turned it in to the motel front desk. There are good people still out there and they work at this shop/motel. I wasn't sure how I was going to fly back home without my wallet. So grateful.

The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are newly remodeled and have a fantastic rain shower head. The pool is right outside your hotel room and Times Square and the beach are a block away!

I give it 4 stars for the off season and during the week but during the weekend or during peak season I would not recommend this place to a visiting family. The rooms were nice but a little to small and the walls were paper thin.

Where do I begin… two days seemed like 20 years without Wi-Fi. The place advertised “free Wi-Fi! ” but when we got to the hotel, they said our room had NO Wi-Fi and NO CABLE. Keep in mind we paid $500+ for this room for two nights. As we walked in the door we entered the kitchen/living area. The “flat screen tv” was about the size of a sheet of notebook paper mounted on the wall, and was across from a stingy couch with some questionable stains and a mysterious stickiness. Opening up the kitchen drawers, they were sparsely filled with rusted utensils that looked like they were last washed in the 80’s. Cut to the bedroom. We open the closet door and see the ground littered in some weird transparent stuff. Upon closer inspection, they turn out to be FLY WINGS. Wings off of flys. All over the floor. We’re all confused about where the actual bodies are and I half expected to find them under my pillow. Obviously the janitor is not doing his job or the owner just has anger issues and likes to pull the wings off bugs. The only good thing about the *motel* was the bathroom. It was clean and well organized. Unless you plan on sleeping in the bathroom I wouldn’t stay here. All in all unless you can make calls with a banana and don’t need Wi-Fi to contact the outside world I wouldn’t buy a room here. Just don’t do it man. Spare yourself the trouble and find a different place. It was positively midevil.

Clean and comfortable, so close to everything but with a secluded feel in the courtyard. Friendly staff. The perfect place to call home for a visit.

Great location and good, clean comfortable room. We had room 43, with Kitchener and 2 queen beds. Facing the pool and courtyard, both which were nice and clean.

We have stayed at the Shipwreck twice now. Both times were great. Clean, friendly and extremely convenient to the beach and restaurants. Close but stll private. Great pool side setting also.

Very nice. Best thing the oceans right there dot-dot and you can sit outside at the tiki hut watch the boats come in and out.

If you want a good location this is the place to go but the kitchen has 1970 appliances. It was very clean and gives you that island feel. Also it’s not very far from the beach.

Nice, clean older motel on the water. Nice dock area for boats. Good place to stay if you just need to spend the night and to leave early to catch the Key West express.

Staff was great and easy to get along with. Always willing to work with me as I am from St. Louis and was there after the hurricane for a little over 2 months. Thank you Debbie, christy, joe, Samari and anyone else that I forgot! Housekeeping staff was great too! Thank you Paula and staff. And make sure as a customer you tip your housekeepers. They def deserve it! Thanks again John and staff.

Convenient location, close to restaurants. You can walk to lots of places. Not fancy, but if you want a change from chains, this place is great. Quirky, but good service. A reasonable price for a close walk to the beach.

What a unique and fun place to stay. Spent two nights here. If your not into cookie cutter hotel rooms and enjoy a place with personality and ambiance this is a perfect place to visit. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are quaint with an "at home" feeling. There are two pools, a lovely dock side sitting area, off street parking, a large gift shop, and you are a block from the beach. Plenty of places to dine, shop, and people watch right outside your door. We will be staying here again the the future. Great place.

Great little place to stay without hurting your wallet people are friendly however there is no one on staff late at night make sure you have all your goodies up front.

Always have loved staying here but this time the A/C has stopped working in the middle of the night. (Room 30) Of course it's a hot summer night. There is no one on standby to even speak to about getting a fan or possibly swap to a different room. The windows are screwed shut so can't even open them for some kind of air circulation. It's 2 am and we are now debating wether to pack up and leave or tuff it out. Sad because we have always enjoyed staying here but no air is miserable. Otherwise quaint little place to stay out of the mainstream beach goers, yet close enough to walk everywhere. Update! So I spoke with the desk clerk and informed them what happen. I was told I'm sorry that happened but unfortunately we do not have staff available after 11:00 pm to address any issues. I will speak to management on Monday morning and call you. Well they called and said we can give you a 10% discount on your next stay. That's basically $30 off if you stay off-season I guess I'm just aggravated that it was so miserable and the only remedy was to leave early and go home. There are no ceiling fans or Isolating fans, the windows were screwed shut and they just didn't seem to care because they got there money upfront. Lesson learned I will now make sure I ask upfront before I book a stay if they have staff available during night hours and if fans are available if not will be taking mine from home when I travel.

Loved this place. Quick and easy check in out. Clean. Nice pool. Super close to the beach. Our housekeeper Paula took excellent care of us and the room. Food and shopping all in walking distance. Love love love this place.

I went to the bar there to have a couple of drinks, the bartenders there were very nice and seemed very friendly, would definitely go back.

The merchandise was all very interesting and there were many cool collectibles, however the staff was a little rude at times. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and what they had to offer, but the staff could use better attitudes.

I give it one star because the beds were comfortable and because they cleaned the rooms. I would never stay here again. There were random old lounge chairs and tables thrown around the pool. Never touched or straightened up. There were obvious areas for landscape but the shrubs were missing. The landscape they did have was awful. The grounds are a mess. You can tell there is no care taken to this place. Even if they swept the walkways it would have helped. The bathrooms are extremely dated. I paid about $220 a night or $1500 with tax for the 6 nights. This is a $75 per night motel at best. They need to spend the huge amounts of money they are taking in to make this place look nice.

We came down for a couple of days and stayed here. J was amazing and so helpful with everything. I highly highly recommend this place! The room was cute beds comfy and very clean and the pool was refreshing! Can't wait to go back.

Location, location, location! Shopping, food, night life, pool, beach, night life all in walking distance! Need I say more? Okay. Great price, clean, kitchen with full size fridge… really! Met people from all over and had a ball in the pool.

Not the best place to stay. I wish I would've checked reviews first. Tv wasn't working right. Ceiling fan didn't work at all and to top that off I went to get in shower after we were in hot sun all day and Shower didn't work at all. Not the cleanest place either. Did not offer to give us any money off our bill or anything. Would not recommend staying there at all.

This motel needs to improve thier cleanliness and customer service. The rooms were smelly and we found bed bugs, the manager was also very rude and would not help the situation and continued to argue and kick people out around us. I do not recommend staying here.

Hands down, worst experience at any hotel. Staff and manager is very dysfunctional and unorganized. I found bed bugs in my first room and also in the replacement (which took 8 hours to get). Manager is also very prejudice as he kicked out all colored guests out of my hall because they're "too loud and obnoxious" despite the fact they were there for less than 2 hours. Would not wish a stay here upon my worst enemy. Stay away from this place.

Worst customer service I have ever had. At one point the receptionst started yelling at me and hung up on me twice! Dont go there unless you want to be treated like dirt.

This place was a true hidden? gem… I say hidden only because it sits behind a great gift shop where you also check in. Don't get m wrong, it's no 5 star motel but then again you're not paying for a 5 star motel. The staff was SUPER friendly "thanks Rose". She was the housekeeper. And front desk was equally friendly. Our room wasn't ready but the made all attempts to get it ready. A quaint clean place and it showed. We had a small room with 2 queen beds. It even had a small refrigerator and hot plate with sink and microwave. Bathroom was clean as were beds and linens. The atmosphere was great also. Cheesy beach. Two pools although not heated, I know. Waaaa waaaa. Lol. But you CAN'T beat it for the price if staying at Ft Myers Beach. Close to everything there. 5 minutes from The Key West Express too which was the main draw to begin with. Very bad service from the hotel employees. In addition to not helping customers, the rooms were extremely small, with a tiny bathroom, missing phone (complained three times and nothing was done — wires were there), one light for whole room in ceiling fan and no lighting above the stove / kitchen (safety issue). Beds sagged to one side and very little room to move around the beds. To top it off we had ants and cock roaches in the room which upset my wife greatly. Hope we didn't bring bed bugs home. The biggest irritant was that we complained three times and employees acted as if it was no issue and didn't bother to correct it. I think we deserved something off our bill but that was clearly not an option. Reminded us of a motel on route 66 in the 30's with a little paint added to make it look better. Guests BEWARE!

The rooms were excellent and the stay was great. Staff was friendly and helpful up until a mistake in what nights were booked. Instead of giving notice a women claiming to be a manage nastily told use to remove everything from the rooms and to be off the premises or charged another night. Upon attempting to discuss the situation with the "manager" she nastily said there was no accommodations available and behavior to adults with children present was terrible. However after switching to another women who was also a "manager" made accommodations to another property owned by this business. The situation was handled by somebody with intelligent people skills and that should be working at this establishment. If that's how management is I believe they need a lesson in behavior to patrons of a business.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this isn't for you. However, on a budget, you can stay at The Shipwreck in comfort and have a variety of dining choices within walking distance. Each August, a large group of us would spend a weekend at the beach. Our group ranges from ages 10 all the way to 75. We used to stay on the beach at a competitor that was not as clean, friendly and helpful as The Shipwreck. When we called and explained what we were looking for, the front desk was very accommodating. Our group had enough people that we were able to book a block of rooms that surrounded one of the pools so if we were up half the night, we were not bothering other guests. The pool area was clean and well maintained and There were plenty of shaded seating areas outside of the pool area and a couple of BBQ Grills. The rooms were clean, well maintained. Air conditioners were in working order, the beds were comfortable and clean. No bed bugs and no stains on pillows, cases or on bedding. Extra Pillows and blankets were already in our rooms which was nice. Some might think it loses something not being directly on the beach but with 2 swimming pools and the beach so close you can walk there even with little ones. We found the pool and social areas to be most enjoyable The only downside for me is the bathrooms in the rooms are quite small.

This hotel was perfect price and quality. Its a cheaper place but VERY nice. Its in the center where everything is in walking distance. Theres an amazing sushi bar a few yards from it. Pool is great. You wont be disappointed. :).

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days. It was truly a great time and very affordable. It is in the heart of TIMES SQUARE and everything is within walking distance. The room was very clean and up to date. There was 2 clean pools. There is a beautiful back deck overlooking a beautiful small bay. All and all, everything was great and we plan on staying there for our next mini vacation.
