Review of Liki Tiki Village 3*

So our first experience was interesting. Security is good and gave us directions to check in nicely. We arrived at 2:15am so it was late and there was nobody else checking us in. It still took 30 minutes to get us checked in. They had 2-3 mistakes which needed to be fixed with our reservations which is what took time. After a few minutes the staff warmed up and seemed to be more lively and welcoming. After check in, we dropped a couple bags off in the room to initially check out the place and then went back down to get the rest of our luggage. After getting in the elevator, the door closed and the elevator didn't do anything. Hitting open didn't open the doors, hitting numbers didn't change the floor. We were stuck. For 20 minutes we sat there hitting buttons, exhausted, and semi freaking out about the fact that we we're stuck. Eventually we were able to hold the close door button down which caused the elevator to start working again. When we mentioned this to staff, they didn't seem surprised that this happened and seemed to shrug it off with basic "we will have maintenance look at it" statements. One even mentioned that this usually happens in one of the other buildings. The room overall was clean except for one of the towels which had make up on it. Fortunately, there were extra towels readily available. The other thing that we found was that just about every outlet in the room is loose. When you plug things in, your cord or item just falls out of the socket. This poses a problem with trying to charge things which as we all know is a necessity these days. Lastly, the cable was not working in the bedroom, which isn't the end of the world. The TV in the living room gets cable fine but is on the opposite side of the living room, so the TV feels small for such a large room. We've been told the community as a whole is being updated and originally we were supposed to be in a newly renovated room, however we were moved to an older room. Overall, the location is nice, the room was clean, the staff has been friendly, and the stay has been good. We still have 5 days left to our stay though, so leaving a review still feels a little soon.
