Review of Sandpearl Resort Private Beach 4*

I've been thinking about this review all week. We had been pretty excited about this trip. We rented a house for spring break last year in Clearwater and happened to walk by the Sandpearl after getting breakfast one morning. We were impressed by the pool, so we did our research and booked seven months out. For months we had been looking forward to staying at this resort known for its beauty and outstanding service. Unfortunately, our visit didn't start out great. We got off the plane to a pretty upsetting voicemail from the Sandpearl: There had been an error in our reservation and our suite wasn't ready; we were going to have to share a room with our fifteen year old son. The drive to the resort was a bit worrisome, to say the least. Now, in hindsight, this is their busiest season. This is the time that everywhere south of Kentucky is booked solid for weeks. This is when they have a million things go wrong. This is when behind the scenes staff is pulling their hair out, but going above and beyond with smiles in front of guests. And that's where my story gets better. When we arrived to check-in, the manager Ted was waiting for us outside. We are well aware that problems occur. When we're rational, we know that not everything can be perfect. But we weren't thinking clearly right then. At the time, we were angry and a little nervous. By the next morning, however, Ted made the problem right. He kept his word and had our suite ready even earlier than expected. Honestly, when looking back, he did more than he needed to do. Even before we changed rooms, we were already having a wonderful time. We probably could have dealt with sharing a room with our son. Of course, we were ALL happy that didn't happen! All in all, my family and I enjoyed a week that we will never forget. Our suite was clean, comfortable, and had a stunning view of the bay. The Sandpearl staff, from the concierge to the spa, housekeeping, the beach workers, and to the waitstaff outside, on every level, made our week amazing. I have never seen anyone work as hard as they do. They go above and beyond. They sweat, trek through sand, dig holes just so you can have an umbrella on the beach, and make you feel as though you are the most important person. Jordan and Elaine made us laugh, gave us recommendations, and greeted us with a smile every single day. The workers on the beach smiled through the sweat as they made sure we had a spot when we showed up in the afternoon to every seat taken. We had something within 15 minutes because of their hard work. The pool was busy, but I wouldn't have traded it for the world. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. The pool staff does a great job making sure people weren't just throwing towels on the chairs and leaving them empty for hours. There's a nice system in place that allows everyone to enjoy themselves. Finally, the view from our room was breathtaking. We watched the sun rise over the bay every morning and the sun set over the gulf from the deck every night. We wanted for nothing. Needless to say, we have found our favorite place. We cannot wait to return next year. Thank you, Sandpearl staff, for an incredible vacation.
