It's hilarious that the owners of this "hotel" (I use that term loosely since in actuality this is a motel with advertised renovated rooms) can get away with charging what they do per room. My mother booked a "Superior King" room for 3 nights which totaled out to a whopping $440. Let me tell you, there was nothing superior about this room. The angles of the photos and the lighting make this "hotel" look appealing, until you actually walk into the door of your room. First off, the room has no bathroom door, and to optimize on space there is a full body mirror that works as a sliding door for the bathroom. That would be a fantastic use of space, had that door actually CLOSED and didn't continue sliding open every time you tried to close it. Which leads me to the bathroom. For almost $500 for 3 nights, you would think you'd actually get a decent sized bathroom. Good luck finding any room to even brush your hair or even position your knees when you want to sit on the toilet. I kid you not when I say that had a person who was on the larger side of the weight spectrum walked into that bathroom, they'd have probably gotten stuck seeing as the wall is less than 2 feet from the sink. The bathroom is the size of a closet, and in that nature completely unfit for someone handicapped. Instead, the wonderful people who were in charge of renovations decided that the makeshift kitchen area needed more room than the bathroom. I was in SO MUCH more need of a giant kitchen area fully equipped with 4 sets of plates, bowls and utensils (and no table to actually use all those things) as opposed to space to actually properly shower and use the bathroom. So good job on that one. The woman at the front desk made it a point to mention how "quiet" this area is. There is nothing "quiet" about this motel when there are people sitting on the chairs outside talking and it just bleeds through the paper thin walls. Last but not least, the bed. The most important part of a hotel room seeing as you only really book a hotel room to sleep in it. For starters, the headboard creaked INCESSANTLY, which made it almost impossible to sleep properly should someone decide to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. When I say it creaked incessantly I really do mean the slightest movement produced the loudest possible creaking and there was virtually no way to fix the issue without just removing the headboard completely. The mattress itself was just not comfortable at all without even the slightest bit of proper support for your back. And of course, the pillows that were essentially just giant bags of air that would constantly refill when you tried to squash the air out. All in all, if you want a good vacation, spend a couple of extra dollars and stay at the Hilton. You get fantastic beds, giant rooms and a complimentary breakfast as a cherry on top. Hotel Cabana was a JOKE. And just as a tip, renovating a motel does not magically make it a hotel. The layout is still that of a motel, so don't think you're fooling anyone with that name please.
