Such a quaint and enjoyable stay here, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and I mean in a way that makes you feel like they’re your friends. It’s lax energy and affordable prices make for a perfect colorado experience, not mention the beautiful view! will definitely return here on my next visit.

Stayed here a couple years ago and the lodge has completely changed. New managers, new bathrooms, new floors, new paint, new clientele. Literally a new lodge IMHO. Enjoyed my stay last time but am absolutely loving my stay this time! Highly reccomend this establishment if you're looking for the best overnight rate in Summit County!

Total dive. Any person named Forman is related to the slum lord owner Brad Forman. These people are liars and thieves. My dog has all her legitimate service papers. I not only paid rent I donated time supplies paint and flooring. I thought I could help make the place habitable. Not the case. I was evicted via rude text while visiting family 1800 miles away despite leaving rent checks behind and Christina swearing so convincingly it was fine. So of course I left not only my car but most of my belongings. As you can see they have a problem with my dogs breed. Although it was another guests smaller dog that bit a guest. Be prepared for a stay from Hell. Junkies, drunks pissing indoors, filth and bedbugs. The owner is a known slumlord pos. Taking advantage of people in need and treating them as disposable. Pack light if you dare to stay because a favorite trick is to suddenly throw you out and keep your stuff. Yep the place is a real treat. Btw to this day they won’t tell me where my car is. I believe they sold it.

Great experience! New management is fantastic, caring, went above and beyond. Will definitely stay again. If you are looking for a unique “communal living” kind of experience, you will find it here!

Bed Bugs everywhere. Managers are nice but they did not handle the Bed Bug situation. It occurred on two different occasions. I would also recommend that you contract a cleaning crew that will come in and clean every other day because the restroom facilities and rooms get dirty very quickly.

Avoid Riversde Lodge at all cost! This place is infested with bedbugs. I got hundreds of bug bites all over my body, and each day with more new bites. I end up having to cancel early and escape from this bug nests and check in to a hotel last minute paying a lot more than I could have. It seems a lot people here and on AirBnb complained about bed bugs of this place. Many had similar experience like mine, having to run, after a day or two's stay at riverside lodge. Seems it is a serious issue that has been running for a long time and is well known by the host but no proper action was taken. Among other things (compared to bedbugs, all seem minor) : strong odor in the room broken toilet facilities residents violate the lodge's own policy smoking in the room.

Have stayed for about two months and have enjoyed it very much. I felt very welcomed the moment I checked in and management was very helpful in all aspects. I would strongly recommend this lodge!

This is not a hotel or a motel. This is a hostel. Photos are very misleading. I’m sure for hostels this is good, but this is not a hotel. Go spend more money if you want a hotel because they offer no refunds.

Love the experience and the people we got to meet while staying at these lodges The two managers were very personable and adhered to many of our requests in a timely fashion. Huge selection of movies that were able to keep us occupied after a long day of skiing. Can't wait to go back next time!

My family has used Riverside Lodge for many special events. The lodges were always professionally cleaned and perfect for our Family Reunions. There are so many things in the area to do that the kids as well as the grandparents were never bored! I loved the shopping at the outlet malls and white water rafting and my 82 year old dad could not get enough of the fishing! I look forward to meeting the New Management team on our next visit!

Christina and Billy the managers are great to work with! Really made this property great! Love the fire pit down by the river. And the new clean facility was great!

Awful place for living, full of bedbugs, mouses and drugs. The owner is a charlatan who won't give your security deposit back even if you haven't broken anything. If I knew how disgusting is this place I would have never gone there and paid such money (750$/month). For this price you will easily find a thousand times better place to leave. This place is not worth a penny. Horrible.

I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. I give this review 2 stars simply because the lodges are a nice idea for large groups and my friends generally enjoyed their stay, but it should be a 1-star based on our dealings with the owner/manager of the cabins. We rented the cabins so our friends could all be together for our wedding at a nearby venue. About 3 months out, we realized we would not be able to fill both cabins as anticipated and called to see if we could cancel one of the cabins. We felt bad about cancelling but were within the 90-day cancellation period stated in the contract. After working something out with the owner, we agreed to cancel one of the cabins, pay a cancellation fee, and keep the other. After our conversation we sent him a confirmation email regarding what we thought would be the cost of one cabin and the cancellation fee based on the contract we signed with him initially. He never responded to this email and we assumed everything was okay. One month prior to the wedding we received a phone call saying that he was going to charge us $1, 500 more (because he was giving us a "discount" prior that he was no longer giving us), he also tried to make us pay other types of fees we had never spoken about previously. He said all of this is because he couldn't find another renter for the other cabin — which obviously should not have impacted the price of our cabin at that time as we had cancelled and paid a fee to do so.

It's a hole below habitation. The little Mexican guy is a douchebag. He has to go. This is a slum lord's dream nightmare come true.

There were bedbugs, people were noisy and the owner was very unfriendly. Everything is dirty all the time and the beds were uncomfortable. It deserves a 0 stars rating.

Idk why people hate on this place so much. Its not the cleanest but it's a hostel so what do you expect. They have everything you would need plus free laundry!

We had planned to be guests at the Riverside Lodge, but upon arriving, there were any number of things that were unacceptable. We asked for a refund, and the caretaker obliged and was very kind, but in spite of that, I cannot recommend this place in good conscience. Avoid.

Not recommended! 1. My roommates were insane and I did not feel safe in my room. I attempted to sleep with my valuables on my person in fear that they would not be there in the morning. 2. My roommates violated the Riverside Lodge rules My roommates were playing loud music after quiet hours at approximately 1am. In addition to drinking, smoking (marijuana and cigarettes). I believed the room I booked was non — smoking room and I would have never booked if I knew there was a possibility of people smoking in the room. I needed to have all of my clothes cleaned because they reeked of pot and cigarette smoke, not to mention depriving me of my precious sleep time. I must have woken up 5 or 6 times throughout the night due to the noise and smell. 3. My roommates violated state and federal laws At one point during the night they started to snort a substance off of one of the desks — believed to be some form cocaine or other illegal drug. I am not sure what kind of establishment you are running, but feel that this type of behavior should be investigated further, as well as involving the local police and Drug Enforcement Agency. If this is what you are looking for, by all means, but if not I urge you to find somewhere else to stay.

Loved it. My son and I stayed there a couple years ago and the people were like family. The stay was inexpensive and the experience was priceless!

WARNING! The worst Hostel I've ever stayed. And I know plenty of hostels from South América! It worth nothing. The photos are from the past. Everything is durty! Stay away. you've been warned!

This has to be the worst place I've ever stayed! Cons and pros… Cons — No trash can in the dorm room I stayed in, room smelt funky. Bathroom and showers were not cleaned once for the 4 days I stayed (hair and grime galore). Toilet didn't have toilet paper half the time and had to go searching through cupboards. Trash can in kitchen was never emptied and dishes in the sink were overflowing. Sign on fridge said, "Clean up after yourself as no housekeeping was provided. " Pros — The price, walking distance to bus station, ample fridge space, 2 separate loungerooms, 2 kitchens (but had to wash everything before you used it as everything was dirty). Great people at the hostel that made every night interesting. Would not recommend staying here. You pay for what you get. If there was a daily cleaner that came through this place would be fantastic… but no.

ONLY STAY HERE AS THE LAST POSSIBLE OPTION! This is by FAR the WORST place I've ever stayed at and was more expensive! I've stayed in $20/night hostels here in NYC that were much nicer. Even hourly rate motels will seem like luxury compared to this place. Imagine the worst, dirtiest college dorm… THAT'S what the Riverside is like. The pictures on their site and Airbnb are NOT what you actually get. Those are from someplace else. First off, the phone number doesn't work and the guy "Brad" just texts back. There's no check in and the guy who's apparently in-charge isn't friendly, doesn't introduce himself and seems like he's just a local homeless guy that they let stay there in exchange for helping out. The room was disgusting! Mostly because of the kids that were staying there for weeks but the fact that they allow that is ridiculous. The sheets & pillows were dirty, mismatched and just gross. They didn't even have a key for the room!? OH… no toilet paper in the bathroom!? The dining room table is also where they keep the mismatched, dirty bedding. The smoke detector was covered!? The common area was only slightly better. If it was possible, I'd give this a zero star rating.

BEWARE POSSIBLE SCAM: They advertised for available rooms and we reserved one. Once we got there it turned out they didn't have anything and haven't had anything for a long time Apparently "Dave" who answers the phone that was given in the ad is a cleaner with no clue and just tries to get people there. We don't know how the place since we couldn't stay there but we understood from other people there that this is something that happens frequently.

Best place to take a vacation I have been to yet! The girlfriend and I had a blast! I always worry when I go somewhere to stay about how clean everything is going to be, but those worries all went out the door when I walked in! We'll definitely be back!

My sister and I stayed at the riverside lodge in August 2014. It was great. The staff and owners are amazing. They made us feel at home and comfortable. The kitchen and living room areas are big and open. The bathrooms were pretty nice. There are tvs in the lodge, so you can watch many movies. They also have a bbq and picnic tables in a fenced in back yard. The Blue River trail was literally steps away, which was probably one of the best parts. They also have a private area with picnic tables and stairs leading straight to the blue river. I would definitely recommend staying here.
