Have stayed here about 6 times in all and never been disappointed. It's a good travellers hotel located very close to the highway exit, they have a good breakfast in the morning and is really pretty quiet for a decent nights sleep. The go-to place for us in Trinidad.
View is wonderful (not from the rooms unless you have the ground suite). Beds and pillows were firm but springy, not much holding them back. A walk from the dispensaries and the rest of the main drag. It was unexpectedly pleasant and it barely cost anything.

Located in Trinidad, Downtown Motel offers free Wi-Fi. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk and a shared lounge for guests.
The Good: the staff were really friendly, this place allows dogs, and the rooms are very clean. They also have bags available to pick up pet messed in the grass. The Bad: If you want a shower in the middle of the night, don't expect the water to be hot. It takes 20-30 minutes for the hot water system to warm up, so you have to just let the water keep running until it gets hot. Seems it gets shut down during the night, activating when people use it. Also, the neighborhood behind the motel looks suspect. The back window in the bathroom was blocked by iron bars. Between the bars and security cameras, it makes me worry this is a high crime area.
