This is a lovely, historic hotel in the center of town, and the staff is very helpful. I recommend it highly. My wife and I stayed here for two weeknights in June 2016. We paid over $200 for the room the first night, and over $300 the second night due to the Bluegrass Festival. It's expensive but I think it's worth it. The location is terrific, on the main street (Colorado St. ) next to a town park and a landmark courthouse building. The bars and restaurant in the building are beautiful and popular. In all of the common spaces of the hotel, the decor is beautiful — — classic, classy and historic. Our room was in the rear of the building, overlooking a back alley and rear yards, so the view was not wonderful. The room itself was great, including a bathroom that had upscale fixtures. The paint scheme and artwork in the room was lovely. I am glad I stayed here and I would choose it again. The hotel staff helped me when I made a special request regarding parking, and I am very grateful. We checked out of the hotel on the first day of the Bluegrass Festival. We wanted to enjoy the festival and drive away, out of town that night. The hotel had given us a parking placard to place on our dashboard while we parked for free a few blocks away in town. Well, on our check-out day, we asked if we could keep the parking placard all day, and return it tho the hotel that night, allowing us to keep our car parked in town until the festival ended that night. This was a huge convenience for us, meaning we did not have to move the car to an outlying parking lot and use festival buses to get around. Thank you New Sheridan! You made our day a lot better.
