I booked this place on AirBnB. I reserved a queen bed room at a rate of $127/night. Due to computer issues they did not confirm my reservation. When I arrived they said, no problem, when their system was back up and running, they would get my reservation handled and leave me a key in a lockbox out front. The room was fine, although it was not the room I booked on Airbnb as it had two Queen beds, which I did not require since I was traveling alone. I was in the room for about 8 hours, packed up and left with no receipt provided for payment or any indication of what they had charged me. When I got my credit card bill, they had charged me $200 for the larger room. When I called, the incredibly rude manager was zero help resolving the situation and basically said “tough. ” Don’t stay here. You’ll pay more than you bargain for for a very mediocre room. I should have stayed down the street and paid what I expected.

This hotel was a dump! The floor may as well been that of a barn, it was full of dirt! The walls and corners were covered in cobwebs, dust bunnies and not to mention dried blood on the wall from what looks like froM there nose. The grounds were covered with dog feces because irresponsible people don’t pick up there dog droppings. I asked for a refund because we left one day early have not received a response. Don’t stay here! 🤢

Comfortable. Hardwood floors in room. Pool and jacuzzi. Close to stores and downtown.

So dirty, beds and bathroom with hairs and dirt, stains. Beds with other people fluids like vomit and others. Hundred of hairs. Strong marijuana smells in rooms and bathrooms that given head ache. I reserved with babies and kids an this is unacceptable and worst with COVID. They know was for 8 people in total and 2 rooms only 1 set of shampoos, conditioner and soap.

Room was not clean Pool was closed only one fire pit and one hot tub. Looks nothing like the online photos.

Our stay over Christmas was awesome! All of the staff was friendly and helpful. We made dinner on the patio using our cook stove and joined others hanging out in the lobby eating and playing games. Rooms are cute and clean. We loved all of the dogs as well. Thank you!

Understaffed nobody cares… rooms were dirty. Free breakfast was a pile of crap overcharge me like crazy for that room.

Service at the front desk was rude and not helpful any time I went in. House keeping did not come to our room each night so we had no clean towels some nights. Supplies were not restocked when house keeping did come through. The rooms look great in the pictures, but are not good in person. Overall this was not a good experience and I do not recommend.

Had a fun "StayCa" this past week at The Loyal Duke Lodge. Outstanding customer service during check in & check out. The property has been remodeled which includes two new hot tubs and great patio spots including a nice fire pit. Modern design. The continental breakfast was just the right amount to tide us over for the morning before exploring all of the amazing restaurants Salida has to offer! Enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio picnic tables while getting to chat with other travelers. Our kiddo loved having access to the hotel pool, as well as having the Salida Recreation and Hot Springs Aquatic Center right across the street. Thank you to Steven, Kelley, & team for making our stay wonderful! We appreciate what you bring to the community!

Best place around by far! Pet friendly, kids friendly, and the staff are amazing! couldn't hope to meet better people than Steve and Adam. Keep up the good work fellas!

We are currently at Loyal Duke Lodge and LOVE it here. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Rooms are updated, amazing amenities with 3 hot tubs, indoor pool, and outdoor fire pit. Close to skiing/snowboarding, the hot springs and plenty to do in downtown Salida. Also pet friendly which is amazing! With a price you can’t beat, we’ve loved our stay here and will definitely be coming back.

This hotel was actually recently bought out by another group. So it is the same hotel location but is no longer a super 8. However it is now named the Loyal Duke Hotel named after the dog of Solid. The new owners are sweet and amazing. They listen to you and are very attentive to your worries of the room. The room was nice kind of a standard hotel room. All of the staff are very nice and pleasant.

Came here as part of a group of 4 after having somewhat of an incident attempting to camp in the national forest nearby. In short, a deer came upon us, walking through the nearby creek, injured. It was pitch black out, so the sound had us all spooked, and the keeper of the bearspray accidentally blasted us all with it when trying to put it back in the carrier. Excruciating stuff. Anyway, still spooked, shaken, and burning from capsaicin, we then packed up camp at 11 p. M. And arrived at the Super 8. The front desk manager Jon was super friendly and accommodating. When we got to our room, it was very clean and had nice, updated decor. Beds were on par with the Marriott too. Maybe we were just grateful for a shower and secure sleeping space where Sasquatch couldn’t come upon us, but in all seriousness we were all very pleased. Unfortunately, a good night’s rest couldn’t repair our damaged pride, but it was a very good night’s rest indeed.

Convenient location and pretty great facilities for a motel. Everything was clean, our room was spacious and had everything we needed (especially a roomy mini fridge). The staff was super friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay here again the next time we're in town!

Jobs are kind. The rooms are clean and nice.

Clean updated rooms. Pool and 3 hot tubs are hot and nice after a long day on the mountain. Bathrooms need updating and lobby is small for breakfast. Other than those quirks, fantastic.

We loved our stay there, Great staff and nice rooms. Smoker and pet friendly. Nice and quiet. We will be back soon!

The guy at the front counter was very helpful. He could tell that I was extremely flustered and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my stay. I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you have pets!

I stayed at the Super 8 in Salida for 2 weeks early in October. I found all the employees to be knowledgeable and very friendly, and the owners were just great! The pool and hot tubs were wonderful, and the patio area had a great gas fireplace and seating area — lots of reading out there! The room was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed the morning coffee and breakfast chatting with Britt and Don! The location was convenient to restaurants and a short drive to the historical downtown.

The room was really clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a half step above standard fare, but the dining area outside was really delightful. They've got three hot tubs and a pool. I had an excellent time. I look forward to next time.

Owner was very nice. The a/c had a weird smell coming off of it though. Room was neat but not super clean.

Location was good. Room was not fancy, but clean and nice — kind of retro-cool decor. Staff was very nice. I'd stay there again.

The location is fine. Number of rooms is fine. Service was good, and friendly staff. But our room was a different story. They don't clean behind the couches because we found dead moths and bugs such as crickets. They bed was comfy but worried us after what we saw.

This place is well kept. The staff were accommodating. Breakfast was good too. Will recommend.

The staff and house keepers were great and very helpful. They have a gas fire pit out back where you can you roast marshmallows. They have bikes you can borrow and ride around town. They have a nice pool and four hot tubs! Nice place to stay but the room we had was very. Cozy. Will probably look into a larger room next time.

Didn't stay overnight here but had to meet up with a group of people for an event. It's easily evident that his place has seen some years pass but is not in bad shape. I'd consider staying here when back in Salida.

It's an okay place. Our first room smelled a little smokey, but the second one they moved us to was okay.

WE LOVE THIS HOTEL! Regardless of the season we love coming to stay at Super 8 Salida! First of all, the front office staff are warm, extremely helpful and all around great people! The rooms are always well stocked, super clean and not what you expect from a 'normal Super 8 motel'. (Trust me, I am a business traveler and have traveled all over the continent) The best thing about this place is the three outdoor hot tubs that allow you to look up at the vast Colorado sky. We come here when we want to visit Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and bike Monarch Crest Trail. Great place!

Great value for the price! We loved the 1 night, 2 ski passes package. Room was clean. Excellent service. Outdoor hot tubs were wonderful after a night of skiing! There is an indoor pool and hot tub as well.

This super 8 was nicer than usual motels and had a great ski package deal. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Hot tubs and pool were good. The room decor was clean and up to date.

Love this place. 2 glorious hot tubs outside, huge pool on the inside, with another soaking pool. Plus the rooms are all remodeled and really nice!

Thin walls, tiny room, not a good value. It is pet friendly and has a nice dog area.

Don't EVER COME HERE! If you want to be locked out of your room every time you close the door then come here! If you want a normal place to stay go somewhere else.

Nice room,, very nice room,,, friendly staff,, good coffee in the morning which we all know is very hard to find,, good motel coffee. Comfortable quiet rooms. This is one worth the price which is higher than adverage motel 8.

Very friendly staff. Updated, clean, comfortable rooms. The staff had a list of recommended restaurants in the area and were very knowledgeable about why other restaurants did not make the list. Pet Friendly is a big plus for us.

We have known the owners, Don and Britt, for a very long time and love staying with them when we visit Salida. We were treated to one of their recently redecorated rooms and it was very nice and comfortable! Looking forward to coming back again soon.
