Arrowhead Mountain Lodge is my happy place. If the scenery alone isn’t enough for you, the atmosphere and the people who own it and work there, will be. They somehow combine a family atmosphere where all are welcome and treated like a local, with many attractions that would satisfy any tourist needing a break from the stress and noise of the city. There is food and music downstairs, Colorado rooms with a view upstairs, and a warm welcome everywhere in between. It is located near fishing, hiking, sightseeing, even whitewater rafting. Or stay on the mountain and just enjoy the people, scenery, and music. Either way, you’ll be glad you did, and I’ll see you there.

I cannot say enough about the accommodations and the staff at AML! We seriously felt like we were in a Hallmark movie! Everything exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be back! When I had an unfortunate accident on a snowmobile, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and had everything I needed/wanted! Thank you, AML for an amazing few days! We can’t wait for our next visit!

They have amazing food and service.

I went for a retreat and it felt like going to visit family. I have never been so relaxed and felt so welcome by a lodge. The views were breath taking and no picture will ever do it justice. The food was amazing and simply put together just like you made it at home. I'm already planning at least 2 trips to go back.

Stayed and the lodge years ago when it was under previous ownership and it was nice. Took advantage of the new proprietor 7/10-7/12 (2020) and it has become so much more. The new rooms are magnificent. The bar and restaurant changes are beautiful. The staff is happy and eager to make your stay memorable. Our weekend was a short stay to go up on the mountain and get married and, although we did not tell them, the staff caught wind of it and watched for us to leave for our ceremony to quietly sneak into our room and leave some nice mementos. A wonderful surprise. The new outdoor venue with live music is fantastic. All you saw were smiles and laughter.

Great food, great atmosphere… so worth the drive up the mountain.

We slipped away for a weekend to AML, it was amazing. The staff are all nice and friendly. The bed was comfy and the lodge is great. Food was amazing. The best part to me was that everyone on the staff seemed committed to helping us build memmories for life.

My husband & I enjoy the lodge restaurant, excellent staff, & friendly neighbors of the community nearly every day or night when we’re on the mountain. It’s something we really look forward to. The lodge is a one of a kind special place that we would highly recommend to everyone! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cozy, recently remodeled, very cute themed rooms. Friendly hosts, makes you feel like your vacationing in your living room, just with a better view. Great riding for all experience levels right out of lodge. Very accommodating, and welcoming, 5 stars.

Great staff. Friendly and super helpful. Food is great. The Green Chili is a must! (I need that recipe Skye! ) we had a great time during the entire wedding weekend. If you want a nice, comfortable and relaxing rustic weekend, this should be on your list.

Had an amazing stay at Arrowhead Mountain Lodge recently. It was my first time there and I will definitely be returning soon. The hospitality & customer service was outstanding! Our room was spotless and the environment all around the lodge was very peaceful. Loved it!

The accommodations were outstanding and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The meals were very good and the breakfast bar was sufficient to get the morning started. The facility was clean and inviting. The only suggestion would be to have a chair in the room to be able to sit and read or use the table. Thank you all for making our anniversary and enjoyable experience.

Our overnight stay at the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge was a real treat. The lodge is very rustic, clean, and full of warmth. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. It was wonderful listening to live music from Tony Rosario on the patio, sitting by the fire, enjoying the beautiful mountain views, smelling the pine and aspen forest, and watching everyone in the many families who were in attendance dancing. The down home, country atmosphere is my kind of place and I will definitely be back.

Stayed to see our son-in-law's band, Desert Flyer, perform. Found all Lodge employees to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, with neat décor to go along with the name of the room. The restaurant was the same, very friendly employees, food was good, had the prime rib Saturday night special, it was cooked to perfection. A very nice room with couches was ideal for visiting with our daughter and her husband, where you could also get coffee, water, etc. That was provided complimentary. If you want a mountain getaway this is a great little spot to go.

Arrowhead Mountain Lodge was the ultimate experience for me and my band. My wife and I were invited to play a gig in the beer garden — which by the way was an incredible experience! Nothing like this in Colorado! The Staff headed up by Jessica and Pat were amazing! Jo was stellar at answering our questions and working logistics. The wait staff were professional, courteous and very efficient! The accommodations were clean, tidy, rustic and chic! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone traveling through Colorado or anyone in Colorado looking for a quiet, beautiful, serene and comfy place to stay for a few days to head on down to Arrowhead! Thanks to the staff at Arrowhead! 5* rating for sure!

Nice clean and comfortable place with a very nice lounge and outdoor area as well. Room was spacious and very clean. Very comfortable king bed with a view out into the field and forest. The kitchen was low staffed and the wings were not good but the waitress was friendly when she found the time to check on us, although very rushed because she was doing multiple jobs and it was at the end of the night. I would definitely recommend this place, we stayed at 6 hotels on this trip and this was the most comfortable. It is kind of a hard to find jewel, a very unique place. It has a bed and breakfast feel to it.

Pleasantly surprised. It's very difficult to fully describe the "AML" lodging experience, but we'll give it a go. First, the long gravel road gives some pause as you drive into wilderness. Keep going. Maybe ~5 miles later up the winding road you arrive and enter a lovely lodge with very friendly staff. We happened to make a late one-night reservation and got a view of the "working side" of the property, but no big deal since we were not going to be in the room much during daylight hours anyway. The rooms were well decorated in a version of minimalist mountain style, but with a very comfortable bed. There are no TVs or phones in the room and I'm not sure that internet or cell phone reception was available, but house phones were available in the lobby/common area, which is very nice and location for all kinds of service and amenities including food, drink, TV, games, books, videos, etc. There is also a full service restaurant with a surprising range of food and bar service. (If you're a particular oenophile, you may want to bring your own). The property is adjacent to some very low density home sites and preserved wilderness areas for viewing wildlife, including moose and elk. We would definitely stay here again and hope to have the chance sometime sooner than later.

We were in the middle of a long vacation trip and needed a good, mid-leg, overnight spot. After some searching I found AML, and quickly booked a night. It’s a nice backwoods lodge, about five miles up a dirt road (easily navigated by a regular car), situated on a ridge. The view is nice, but it’s the inside of the lodge that made it special. Upon checking in, I quickly dropped our bags in our room, and we went to the bar to make dinner reservations and relax. The staff was very friendly and fun to talk to, and soon we were engaged in conversations with other patrons, which was a lot of fun. Soon after we moved outside to their patio area, which has a nice stage and fire pits and dining tables, to listen to Tony Rosario sing as we ate. As the sun dropped they lit fires in the pits, where people congregated to ward off the mountain air’s chill. (Of course additional drinks followed. ) Many locals also arrived to enjoy dinner and the music, which made for a very nice evening. Would we return? Definitely! Would we order anything different? Not at all! Highly recommended!

We could not find anything wrong with this charming lodge set in the mountain top woods. The rooms were comfy, the place was quiet, and I could not believe the scenery when the sun came up. We will definitely plan on an extended stay next time. Thanks!

Wow! We were headed to Lake City and over to the San Juan’s and found this lodge just a few miles south of Highway 50. Rooms were great and the restaurant had a great menu. We continued south from the lodge (dirt road) to great views and wildflowers!

This was our second mountain getaway with our baby boy. Arrowhead Mountain Lodge was the perfect place to experience the outdoors without camping in a tent. The lodge room were spacious and the shower was fantastic after a long day of hiking and fishing. Plus, they have a restaurant that serves a great menu and hot breakfast. I highly recommend Arrowhead to anyone that wants to get away and “rough” it without roughing it one bit!

What an awesome place. It's even better than their websites pictures. The rooms have just been redone and the mattresses and pillows are wonderful. The place is all wooden beams and logs… I love it. We had a couple ribeyes for dinner and they were cooked just right. The outdoor patio has all these huge aspens. I gotta go back!

We enjoyed a really wonderful 2 day stay at Arrowhead Mountain Lodge. The Lodge is warmly-rustic, the rooms spacious & comfortable, the owners & staff superb and the food & drinks were excellent. The location and views are outstanding. So glad our friends Jack & Diana recommended The Lodge.

My best friend's husband and I arranged a surprise party for her and the staff was very helpful and obliging by hiding our cake we brought and all our weird drinks requests to our large party of 10 including kids. We were there all night until closing and the staff was very nice even after we requested ice while they were trying to close up. The newly remodeled rooms are very homeyand clean. Food was good too!

If you're looking for a place to relax and unplug, this is it! The newly redecorated rooms are beautiful, and the bed was comfy. And if you eat in the restauant you won't leave hungry. The nearby neighborhood with acre-sized cabin lots is quaint, and we saw deer, fawn, an elk, marmot, horses and numerous bird species. My husband caught 2 rainbow trout in the nearby lake. We started off rather roughly because the check-in area isn't well defined. I stood at the register for some time, and when that didn't work, I walked to the bar and had to finally interrupt two staff members from their electronic device to ask them where check-in was. Unfortunately, the restaurant needs a new karaoke machine, as the karaoke they featured Friday night was from YouTube videos, and the songs kept buffering. The gentleman running it would stop songs midway and choose a different song. Very distracting. And, it was so loud the server and I had difficulties hearing each other. A few of the servers might be new, as several were quite absent-minded. And not sure having a staff member eating her supper, sitting with the karaoke person, and dancing with her AML shirt on is the best image.

Beautiful drive to the lodge from Hwy 50 to Hwy 149. Don't try it in a car. 4 wheel drive or dirt bike. Lunch was excellent. Fun bar. Dog friendly in the outside dining. Looks like great fun scheduled everyday. Can't wait to go back!

It had been at least 5 years since I'd been to the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge, we stopped in for lunch during a snowmobile fun day. Previously just the restaurant was open but now they have lodging a small store and gas station. People were real friendly and accommodating, lunch was very yummy and filling.

All of the Personnel are very helpful and friendly. Never a problem with any of them. Courtney is especially helpful, always smiling and happy and very busy too. Our room was nice with a very comfortable bed. The room was very country and nicely decorated for the season including a fireplace and outstanding view. The bathroom counter appears to be custom log counter with a copper sink and custom faucet. We enjoyed the hardwood floor instead of carpet. So much cleaner as was the rest of the room. A Continental Breakfast nice to enjoy either in your room or the homey lobby with fireplace, overstuffed furniture, books and games. In the evening the bar is family oriented, serving food, TV's and a very unique and beautiful bar that is wood stacked tight and possibly varnished aspen. (My guess) You have to see to appreciate. We look forward to staying there again!

Way off the beaten path, which is great. Felt like hanging out with family, good and bad. Fun and friendly, but a little rowdy and that didn't stop when the bar (below the guest rooms) was supposed to close. Rooms were comfortable though pretty Spartan in decor.

One of our new favorite getaways! The room was lovely! The common area is very engaging and a wonderful way to meet new people. Dinner was great (get there early for the prime rib) and the breakfast buffet was even better! Only thing that would make it better would be corrals for us to be able to take our horses and make it a riding trip!

AML's setting makes any stay special; and the staff are all extraordinarily friendly. That said, the operations are quite laid back. Don't expect 'no hitches', as there will likely be some; but there were none major for us, with the exception of the Saturday night 'music' (and not our genre) which was supposed to end at 10:00, ran past 11:00, and partying continued past 2:00 a. M. When we were finally able to sleep. Still… we will definitely come back again.

My husband and I stayed at Arrowhead on our wedding night fifteen years ago, when it was under different management. So, when we were in town for family reasons recently, we sentimentally decided to stay again. The first two nights were nice — — the room is nicely updated and clean. The only recommendations I have for the room would be softer pillows and two chocolates instead of one. The third night was frustrating. After emotional family events, we were exhausted. Came back to our room to find a live band performing below our windows (and no A/C means a fresh breeze is part of the charm! ). The music was quality, and if the party had finished at 10 or 11pm, I wouldn't be complaining. But the partying and childish girly squeals continued loudly until 3 or 4am. Not at all a pleasant sleeping experience for us, as we were leaving early that morning to return home. If the loud parties are part of the new Arrowhead experience, it would be nice to warn paying customers before they book!

A rustic oasis on the top of a picturesque mountain top. The lodge has amazing food and a relaxing atmosphere. This is the perfect place for a weekend away.

It was so peaceful and Beautiful very relaxing the employers very welcoming and friendly I felt like a family member felt the love there ❤️ This will be one of my favorite spot to go ❣️

We had the pleasure to find this little gem south of the Blue Mesa. The room was lovely with wonderful sheets and comforts you'd expect in a high end hotel. We had dinner on Thurs. Night which is "community night" and was so much fun to meet the locals and enjoy a great meal. Cozy and welcoming. My only suggestion is to turn off all the TV's especially in the main lodge room… unnecessary and distracting in what should be a quiet space.

We have stayed on multiple occasions. All have been enjoyable. The close family feel of the lodge is what really stands out to us. It seems the staff really appreciate being there also. Good environment. We'll be back and we have already refered many to you.

My wife and I took a day to get away. AML was very quiet without all the distractions. The people were very very friendly and congenial. We ate a burger in the restaurant which was very good (fries not so much — grease needed changed). The only downside was there were no chairs in the rooms to relax in. Just not easy to rest sitting on the bed. Overall a good stay.

Lovely rooms… I especially loved the comfy linens on bed and fluffy towels… delicious food, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner faire… welcoming and accommodating common areas/ living room… we played games, watched a movie, sang songs around the piano (slightly out of tune). Courtney made sure our drinks were delicious and Effy was able to find the extra key that we needed when we locked ourselves out of our room! oops!

AML is a hidden colorado gem that is the perfect place to bring the family to get away. I had an awesome time during my stay. They have a lively community and an awesome restaurant. I highly recommend coming to Arrowhead Mountain Lodge for your next stay in the mountains of Colorado.

Went for a local band, enjoyed the peanut butter cup pie and some coffee. The atmosphere was wonderful as always.

Cute and the price is more than fair. A little more attention to detail and I would recommend raising your rates.
