Extremely disappointed in the service I experience today 10/19/2015 10:00am. I have been a very frequent user of Hilton Properties by virtue of my business travel going on 6 or so years now. Due to my changing schedules I sometimes have to cancel reservations, even though not often, it does happen from time to time. Never have I had an issue. This morning I contacted the front desk at the Hampton Inn Castle Rock, CO to cancel my reservation for this evening, my business destination had changed unexpectedly. The person at the front desk whom answered my called explained that she could not cancel my reservation. I asked to speak with the manager. She explained that the manager as well could not make the change due to a Hilton Corporate policy just put in place this past January 2015 stating that after 12:00 midnight of the day prior to the reservation, no cancellations are allowed. I then called Hilton Corporate direct. I was informed by corporate that yes, a policy change was made, but, that each individual location has the ability to override that policy and cancel any reservation at the management level. The person I spoke to with with Hilton Coorporate even went above and beyond to contact Hampton Inn in Castle Rock, CO to help me cancel and in the end was told by the front desk that Management was not available to be spoken to and that the reservation would not be canceled. The Hilton representative even tried to discuss a lower penalty to cancel, which in my case was the full one night stay amount, to a lower penalty, and the in the end Hampton Inn in Castle Rock, CO would not bend on their rule. Unbelievable, Hilton Corporate couldn't even speak with management? Sad management response on Hampton Inn if you ask me. This is very disappointing to me. As someone who travels weekly, I use the Hilton Properties extensively, hence my earned Diamond Status. Mind you, I don't state this to feel important. It would be very easy for Hampton Inn in Castle Rock, CO to research my travel history, see that I am a frequent user of the Hilton Properties as a frequent business traveler and have flexibility and grace not to penalize me for a change in my travel requirements. GREED in my opinioin is all they have shown! With that I will NEVER stay or support this particular hilton property with my business, money, time or support. As for the Hilton franchise. Hilton Corporate was very nice and helpful with my request. They went out of their way to support my needs and considering my circumstance. I don't enjoy traveling away from my family but it's part of what I do to support them. A company that understands this has my business. Hilton franchise has it. Hampton Inn Castle Rock, CO does not.
