This is my second stay at Hotel Keen for pleasure so it must be good! The hotel is as modern as it is minimalist, but the weekend prices and extras are what brought me back. The free wine tasting and breakfast are actually quite good. The location is superb for a quiet weekend in downtown Palo Alto. There's no doubt I'll be back again.

Keen has one of the best locations in Palo Alto. They did a nice renovation and it looks great at face value, however there are still a few hints that it is a very old building such as the windows.

The location is amazing! If that's all you want, this is the place. However, I was here for work and the rooms are tiny! No refrigerator or microwave and no space! Also, the housekeeping moved my things around even though I asked for them to just replace towels while I was here… weird!

Quiet and comfortable but zero amenities and tiny rooms. They should add coffee makers at least. Silly not to include such a thing.

Room was quite small; walls were a bit thin, so you can hear noises from the hallway and the rooms next to you. There is a curtain instead of a door to the bathroom. The dry-erase marker compatible walls are cool though! Overall, a reasonable place for an individual or a couple to stay in Palo Alto.

Small rooms but good breakfast! We used a sound machine on our phones so we didn't notice any noise.

The only think that makes this a hotel instead of a hostel is a door to the room and a small shower to yourself. The rooms are ridiculously small and Nate. This hotel has no parking, and I mean they offer no place to park. You drive around until you find a spot in town. There is no, and I mean no door on the bathrooms. A simple curtain with no real privacy. If you are paying for than a hundred bucks a night, it's too much. There ateich more better options around. The guy working the front today seemed confused at every question. Stay elsewhere…

I had a great time here, and wouldnt discourage anyone EXCEPT for one point. DO NOT stay here if you are sound sensitive. The space is modern and new, assumably renovated, so it is absolutely astounding to me that the windows are single paned and the walls seem quite thin, BECAUSE: This place sits kitty corner to a bar called The Patio which is also the weekend "club" in Palo Alto. Until 230a on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, bass from music and loud crowd noise can be easily be heard quite easily throughout the ENTIRE building. It does not help that the rear stairwell is naked and exposed each level to this noise pollution. It also does not help either that it seems that house keeping seems to flip rooms in the night as you can hear constant doors opening and closing. Again, thin walls. Furthermore if you are on the 2nd/3rd floor in an odd numbered room, noise polution from HVAC units on the roof of the church next door can be heard easily as well. For a higher-end-ish establishment I'm incredibly disappointed that this venue hasnt been rennovated to address this noise issue. Despite lack of sleep, I otherwise had a very pleasant experience. Room was cozy but fine for 1 person.

Friend stayed here and despite its newish appearance, felt a bit grungie. Personally wouldn't stay here. Cardinal Hotel was better.

The place was loud, I could hear the guy snoring in the room behind me, I could hear water in the pipes all night. They never changed my sheets even though I put their card in the Please Change my Sheets location. There was no door to the bathroom in my room? Honestly too expensive for the experience.

Super cute, small, but close to transit/train/restaurants/mall/etc.

The room was on the small side but space was used well although the chair was too big for the table. The room was clean and the shower was fine. The was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but there is a coffee maker in reception. The staff were friendly. There were three issues which makes me dock the hotel a couple of stars. There was no safe. There is a bar next door which does get loud on the weekend. The walls are thin, my work colleague could hear me on the phone from next door.

Hotel was clean staff friendly. Nice continental breakfast. Wine tasting and bed time cookies. Even dry erase walls in rooms.

Room are small and not the easiest to work in, but clean and comfy beds make it for this.

Staff are friendly, but occasionally unresponsive to phone. Location is great, but entirely lacking all-day parking. Our end of the hall had a serious noise problem, with a night club booming away next door through very thin walls. Our room was awkwardly laid out, so one person had to slide sideways between the wall and the bed, resulting in multiple stubbed toes and bruised shins and knees daily. The shower pressure is truly abysmal. I try to take short showers because of the drought, but spent twice as long as I normally would because I needed to spend a lot of extra time squeegie-ing the soap off. Pillows were thin and unsupportive. Mattress was ok. They only clean if you request it cleaned. They failed to provide us with sufficient linens two nights in a row. When requested adequate linens, on one occasion they said they had run out of sheets. In a hotel, this is surely an essential function, and I am genuinely dismayed that the management allowed such a thing to happen. Twice.

Clean, quite room. Great staff and breakfast. Very small room and expensive.

Decent hotel for its price point and number of stars. Hotel staff were helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable enough. Somewhat small rooms but to be expected.

Liked the rooms. Internet was running at 0.7mb/s, while their brochure advertised "High Speed Internet", I was almost able to load an article all the way. I'm currently sitting at reception waiting for the receptionist to wake up so I can check out and make it to the train. I prefer not to wake people, especially if the "Desk Staff Will Be Right Back" sign is up in front of the receptionist. Was at three stars but given the fact that staff sleep in the middle of the day in a hotel where I pay 200 A night, I had to bring it down. Fancy building doesn't make up for a missed train. I know. I could've woken the guy up, but that's not my job to ensure staff are awake. My job is as a consumer.

Small (think NYC studio apartment) but clean rooms with trendy modern furnishings. The hotel has an apartment building kind of feel, but not in a bad way. It feels homey, but trendy. Free continental breakfast provided; the selection is not huge but it is filling. Wine tasting on most afternoons and free cookies in the evenings. Very friendly staff. Conveniently located next to restaurants and shops. A word of caution — I could hear the guests above me walking around so either the individuals walked heavily or the walls and floors are thin. I didn't hear anyone on either side of me so I don't know for certain that there is a noise problem. The persons above me could have been extra loud for no good reason. I can sleep through just about anything anyway so I was not bothered. Hotel Keen abuts a Kingdom Hall so it may be noisy or busy if there is a meeting or worship. While staying here during the week, I didn't see anyone go in or out of the Kingdom Hall and it was very quiet so I don't think there will be a noise issue. I didn't see anyone with children staying at the hotel. It was mostly single people on business. I was on business as well and I recommend it for business travelers. It wasn't my first choice when booking, but I was pleasantly surprised. Overall it was a very positive experience and I would return again, booking Hotel Keen as my first choice.

Very nice hotel, great location, clean, nicely furnished rooms. Yes, the rooms are small and I had a view of a beautiful wall, but overall the experience was positive. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is poor, but you do get free coffee all day and free wine in the evening.

Rooms smaller than 10 by 10 and the bathroom does not even have a door. Walls are also razor thin, and you have to whisper for the neighbor not to hear you. I will never stay here again.

Walls in the hotel are paper-thin. I stayed there for two nights and got perhaps 7 hrs of total sleep. First night it was thanks to a loud snorer next door, second night — a couple (I presume) having loud LOUD sex. In both cases, the acoustics made it sound as if the people were right in my room. W henever the neighbors would get quiet for a moment, the bar at the patio upstairs provided substitute noise and vibration. When the doors and shelves rattle in my room, it's definitely too loud outside. I would have given the hotel a lower rating, but well… at least no bugs or stains.

Awesome service, rooms are clean and sleek but don't expect extra amenities (like mini fridge or closet). The rooms are perfect for a couple day stay, business trip, or a quick stop. The staff is so welcoming and nice, they will do everything in their power to meet your needs.

Service was great, the room was clean, and the location/price combo was good. This is an efficiency hotel meaning the rooms are TINY! I mean completely small. As long as you prepare for that ahead of time you'll almost certainly enjoy your stay. Also, that have a great bonus breakfast and happy hour selection that was included in my room price.

I love that the merchandise is American Made. I'm on my way now and I'm anxious to see the business in living color! I'll will post a follow-up review afterwards…

Ok for a night stay, but they're not kidding when they call it "minimalist. " No closet, dresser or coffee maker in the room. Also stayed on the 2nd floor and it was quite loud.

I started using KEEN footwear in 2012. Since then I have bought a few pairs of Newport H2 for myself, my daughter, and my son. KEEN footwear are great investment for my health. They are almost perfectr for diabetics like who must protect their feet from cuts and bruises! Thank you KEEN!

It was like sleeping in a refrigerator. Small, dark, and cold. Repeatedly I would wake up to turn on the heater, lie there trying to tolerate a loud hairdryer blowing in my face, then get up and turn it back off.

Footwear might not be normal looking but very comfortable and functional. After trying on maybe 50 sandals I purchased two KEEN sandals.

Cool hotel in the heart of Palo Alto. Small rooms but fine if you plan to spend time in the neighborhood.

Small rooms, nice decor, windows were opaque so felt really claustrophobic.

Worst hotel I has been in the US so far, and also yes, expensive, everything is cheap aside for the reception lobby that is OK, don't let them fool you, there is no placard, nor iron, nor door in the bathroom (yes you read right), internet connection is super slow, etc etc, go to other place make you a favor.

After a hiccup on my first visit I was well taken care of. Truly feeling greatful that businesses still honor great customer service!

Great location. Nice (but very small) rooms. Super noisy. We were there on a Friday night. The north side is next to a bar patio.

Walls are paper thin and I could hear the casual conversation the people in the room next to mine were having. For the price tag, this hotel fell short.

The place is nice enough but not without a few flaws worth mentioning. The primary plus is the location. For the right rate, this is an ideal place to stay for those who want to be right in the middle of the Palo Alto action. However, of the flaws, the parking is likely the biggest, which is *not* free. While they do have a couple of spots directly in front for loading and unloading, even the street parking in the area is strictly monitored. You only get 2 hours of parking in all of the garages and street parking. Night and evening parking is "free" in a sense as long as you leave before 10:00 every day (except weekends). Otherwise the parking is $16. The fines are in excess of $40 if you don't get things figured out right away (which is quite likely). The rooms are small (don't plan on working in the room if you are even the tiniest bit claustrophobic). The desk is slightly smaller than the width of a chair. The staff are all friendly generally accommodating. The location is very nice though. You are a short walk to Paxti's, a nice Chicago style pizza place and La Boulange, a very nice French inspired coffee, bakery and breakfast place. If you normally drink your coffee from a bowl, you've love this place. The shopping in the area is nice as well. Overall, I'd recommend this place, but mostly for those very few travelers who don't drive a car and who plan to just spend a night or two.

It is close to Stanford and University Avenue. Clean room and nice service.

Visited the KEEN Garage this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my experience! Great service and products. Also loved the creative decor. Will definitely be back!

Off main street and quiet this hotel in Palo alto strip has whiteboards to write on in the rooms! Love it. Came here to meet a friend and we ended up brainstorming some concepts on the wall! Nice amenities too and beds seem comfortable but I wasn't sleeping here. Dig the lounge and cozy seats too.

Mixed feelings. Good service, practical room and great location but no hotel parkig and room is tiny. Essentially the room seems as optimized as an ikea showroom. Everything is clean and practical, but is just the necessary space and no more. Desk is tiny; drawers are under the bed; just one hanger. I found the service to be helpful Breakfast is limited and no hot food options (good nespresso coffee though) No hotel parking. This is an issue if you won't be using the car for part of the day as available parking nearby has a 2hour limit. Also parking in the evenings is tricky and you have to go around for 5-10 minutes before you find a spot.

The service from the hotel staff is less than friendly. Decor is nice, but looks are not everything. Service counts for a big part of comfort in a trip and that is where this hotel falls short.

Awesome place. Gives you exactly what you need and nothing more.
