Such a lovely place to stay! You step out and you are right in downtown. The facilities are clean and charming. Breakfast is real breakfast, not your typical continental. It's worth its value and some more.

What a little gem the Garden Street Inn is! It felt like we had truly stepped back in time with the charming inn and excellent service. The breakfast was fabulous and the location is perfect for strolling around darling downtown San Luis Obispo.

Very conveniently located oldey worldy bed and breakfast with a comfortable bed, a fabulous jacuzzi tub, great cooked breakfast, and extremely personable staff. The place could do with some updates, and it's a bit noisy in rooms facing the street (Cal state SLO students exit the bars at 2 a. M. ), but overall the experience was a very good one.

Breakfast (best eggs Benedict I've ever had) is excellent but ends a bit too early for a late riser like me. Room was adorable and had a Jacuzzi tub! Would have been nice to have a coffee maker or electric kettle in the dining room for hot drinks past 8pm. The tea selection was amazing. They have a piano there for guests to play, and a sitting room with fireplace. Charming b and b that is reminiscent of some of the places we've stayed in the UK. Free fresh cookies were delivered to our room every day. Beds were very comfy and staff was friendly and accommodating. Right near the downtown shopping center of SLO!

Wonderful Inn. The breakfast was Easy Cheesy Over Easy. Loved it! The parking however is a challenge. Two blocks away, but if you don't mind the walk it is worth it.

Turn back time in this nicely restored home. Staff is friendly and the chef talented. Great place to stay.

We definitely intend to return to this lovely jewel within walking distance of downtown SLO. The Inn is extremely comfortable, the staff are warm & inviting, the breakfast was delicious & hearty — what's not to love! Thanks for a wonderful stay, we wish it could've been longer.

Stayed in this charming B&B. The rooms are themed, had requested the cocoon room but their was an issue so we hot our room changed. The room we stayed in was very clean. Lovely helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious! The best thing about this place was that it was within walking distance to everything. Definitely going back.

My husband and I stayed at Garden Street Inn on our way to Santa Barbara. We got in late (around 10pm) but the hotel is conveniently located, so were able to find a place to relax over drinks after a long drive. The breakfast the next morning was tasty. We did not get too much of a chance to explore the area, but found a nice art gallery nearby, as well as cafes.

The rooms are nice. The staff is great, very friendly. Water gets really hot if you're not paying attention. Pay attention and don't waste water like me.

I cannot say enough about how much my wife and I loved out stay here. The breakfast every morning was excellent and we were asked about dietary restrictions when reserving the room which I thought was very considerate. We stayed in the Amadeus room which had a great jacuzzi tub and very comfortable bed. Stay in the middle of the week to save some money and catch the truly excellent farmer's market on Thursday nights.

Beautiful place and very clean. The Innkeepers are friendly and in a good location. Note this is an older place so you can hear the other room's showers.

Take your wife/girlfriend here. Beautiful characterful rooms with top quality sheets, great breakfast. Eat at sumo sushi down the road. Awesome.

We stayed here for two nights for a quick getaway. The Garden Street Inn is wonderful! It is in a perfect location — 1/2 block to a main street in downtown San Luis Obispo. We walked to restaurants, shops, galleries, the historic Mission, coffee shops, etc. The room was clean and well-decorated. It felt very comfortable and charming without being cheesy. John, the innkeeper, was friendly and served a great hot breakfast every day. I would recommend this to anyone staying in SLO for business or pleasure. We can't wait to go back.

The locals all what we travelers should know; that The Garden Street Inn is a wonderful place to stay. I was there over a week, so that makes me an authority. John, the innkeeper, emanates a calm professionalism. All the staff greeted me as I was the very person they were hoping would stay there and this came across as genuine. Breakfast was artfully prepared and delicious. I left today well rested.

My wife and I decided to use the Garden Street Inn as a base for a short bicycle tour of the local wine country, and we would return in a heartbeat. The Garden Street Inn combines friendly, helpful, and relaxed service with an elegant but uncluttered presentation that immediately set us at ease. We booked online, but when I noticed that the online booking mechanism had automatically included a $7.50/night charge for parking that we would not need (we arrived by train), I simply emailed and within hours had received an amended reservation with this charge removed. When we arrived at 8:45pm, the innkeeper, John, answered the door barefoot, in shorts and a t-shirt (having just finished building his new bicycle). He welcomed us with the warmest of smiles, showed us where to stow our bikes and gave us a quick tour, and then turned us over to the on-duty staff to check us in. We stayed in the Emerald Isle room, which has a comfortable (and quiet) bed and a private deck (where we locked our bikes), and a teeny little TV without a remote sitting on an antique radio that still seemed to work. We barely touched either because SLO and the surrounding country have so much to offer. Check-in was efficient and easy, and within a few minutes we were on our way to Linnaea's Cafe to try their famous chili and to listen to their live folk music. Breakfast on our first morning consisted of vanilla yogurt with raspberries and blackberries, and a slice of quiche with bell peppers.
