Nice clean pool! The hotel is situated in a somewhat busy area but they are tucked away and have greenery around the pool and hotel to provide a more beautiful view. We ate lunch there with friends and it was delicious. It was great quality and fresh too! Towels for the pool were provided on the lawn chairs outside and that was very convenient.

The hotel was acceptable. $37 nightly for valet parking was not. I chose to park for free on the street and it wasn't too inconvenient. If I was someone with mobility challenges, I would stay elsewhere. Is this a form of discrimination?

Beautiful room with great view of the beach. Hotel had free bikes to check out which was nice. Shower soap is bar soap.

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend. The location is good with walking distance to the ocean and some coffee places. Our room was on the third floor. It had plenty of space, two queen size beds and a nice restroom. There are several amenities (pool and fitness center), which we didn't use. We grabbed food at the Cusp restaurant on the top floor: the brunch was expensive but the views were worth it. The staff was nice and courteous. Note: if you have a car, there is overnight parking but it will cost ($37 per night at the time of my stay).

A bit dilapidated from its previous owners, Hotel La Jolla still offers a pleasant stay. The best part here are the views, whether from a higher floor guest room or their restaurant at the top. The restaurant is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and the food isn't half bad. Guest rooms do show sings of wear and tear but the balcony and interesting shower design make up for it. Also disappointing is the lack of a shuttle. All in all, a good stay for the value.

We enjoyed our room on the 10th floor. We did hear noises from the restaurant above but it didn't impact our stay enough to want to change rooms. The view was wonderful and every staff member we came in contact with was genuine and friendly. Well done, front desk team!

I loved this hotel its a great location, the food at Cusp is amazing and everyone was very friendly. I would recommend to anyone looking for a staycation. The pool is warm 80 degrees. The parking is pricey at 37 dollars a day but there is off street parking available. There are cute shops in walking distance and the beach is a 5 minute walk.

Beautiful views from the hotel room. Staff as very acomodating, even when we learn that the parking was not free ($37/night), they decided not to charge us for it. It was not published in our itinerary documents and we olso got free continental breakfast. Be aware the Wi-Fi, is slow and is not free. Nothing is free in La Jolla.

Good views from the top floor bar and friendly service. There is only valet parking at the hotel though which bugged me because I didn't want to have to pay $15 to spend more money inside.

I stayed at this hotel 6 years ago and it was nice then. Now it's really nice! The hotel itself is old but the interior is very nice. And so are the staff … how could you not be nice when you get to see beautiful La Jolla everyday? The rooms are very comfortable and modern. The pool area and bar is quite nice to relax in. I would highly recommend this place as it is a nice hotel and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the beach.

Hotel was nice for the most part. Staff very friendly but we were on 3rs floor by the pool. It was very noisy with pool, music and street noise. They put noise cancelling noise machine in room which is great for people who like noise when they sleep but I don't so sleep was poor. Plus their light switches have bright lights on them which were at eye level. Room was clean bed was very soft and a bit broken down pillows small and super soft. Just not a good night sleep for me.

Loved this hotel. So close to the little La Jolla Shores town, and a short walk through town to the beach. Funky laid back vibe. I love that the rooms all look out toward the ocean. Great views. Great upstairs dining in the roof!

Oh the views! Great spot to grab a drink and some apps and watch the sun set. So beautiful. Food is very good. Little pricey but you are in La Jolla. Happy hour is ok, not a very big menu… but did I mention the view?

Hotel La Jolla is a premium hotel. Lots of high end features and finishes. Fantastic service. Rooms on the upper floors have the option of ocean views. The balconies are spacious! Each room has a neat shower with a glass wall which looks into the room, you can close this off for more privacy. The hotel is lacking free parking, you are required to pay for valet or park way down the road. Also, breakfast is not included, although you can purchase breakfast for $$$$$$$$$.

The view alone is worth the price of admission. Overlooking the gorgeous La Jolla Shores it's a premiere spot to get drinks and catch up with friends.

Great location and really nice outdoor facilities (pool bar area with a fireplace and lots of interesting seating) and a small but very nice heated pool, comfortable lounge chairs and basket always full of beach towels. The lobby is beautiful with very cool furnishings. The 11th floor restaurant has breathtaking views and excellent food. Staff was courteous, right down to the valets, everyone was very friendly. It was a very short walk to the beach, restaurants and surf shops, we loved the area. For all these things, I would give 5 stars. BUT… the room took some stars away. The only good thing about the room was the cute balcony with a beautiful ocean view. The platform beds were dusty where the wood showed, the inside of the drawers were dirty with hair and fuzz, the shelves in the dresser were all so dusty, you could write your name in it. The refrigerator was TINY and there was no microwave. The mattresses were squishy soft and you immediately sunk right down to the hard platform base (no box springs here. ) By the third night, my back was complaining. The bedding is nothing like the photos on their website. (No duvet covers, no pillow shams, no decorative pillows) There are down comforters on the beds that held hard clumps of feathers here and there, but were mostly empty of feathers except for the outside edges. These comforters were enclosed in two flat sheets folded over each other and the whole ensemble came apart the first night.

The bar is very nice with a great view, great food, and never too crowded.

The rooms were modern and comfortable. The location was great for quick access to the beach. The amenities were excellent as well. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a cozy place nestled into La Jolla Shores, and is 180 degrees from huge corporate chains. When it was a Kimpton, it was my personal favorite of all Kimptons. Hilton has it tucked into their Curio Collection which bodes well. Hilton invests capital, while leaving the personality of the property alone.

What an eyesore. Destroys the ocean view to pay for Paris Hilton's mascara.

The room was dirty. There was trash on the floor and balcony. It was relatively quiet and the happy hour was decent. 30 to park overnight is too high.

Nice room, had an ocean view, which was beautiful. Yes, gas station out front is unfortunate, but the higher floors have a sunset and morning to remember.

We are here now and so far service has been good. Except the room has a fridge the size of my ex wife's brain extra small. With all the complementary drinks there is no room for anything else. Plus where is the luggage stand.

A very warm welcome and excellent service from the complimentary shuttle which let us get everywhere we needed. A peaceful retreat with splendid ocean views and a very good restaurant.

I am here now and it is the WORST stay ever in my life. I got the room with Priceline bidding, so I got a discount of about $50. So what? Do I need to be humiliated and disrespected because of $50? 1. Someone just came in my room without knocking the door using his card key when I was in my room. What is the card key for? Here in Hotel La Jolla, it is not for security, but for sharing. Just ridiculous. 2. I tried to check in at 1 pm, but waited for more than 3 hours around the hotel until the room is ready. After I came back to the hotel, the front desk clerk made me wait again in the lobby and provided all the rooms to people who came later than me. I waited for more than 30 min until all the guests checked in. 3. Okay. I paid less. I dont expect the room with a great view. But, a totally abandoned room at the end of the first floor in front of the restroom and the fitness room? Are you kidding me? There are more things that I felt uncomfortable, but I don't want to waste my time. If you get a bidding deal for this hotel, you need to be ready to be humiliated. sn.

We loved our stay here. Two adults and a 7yo. The staff is top notch. Very friendly and helpful. There is lots of attention to detail at this property. The shuttle service is amazing. Parking is such a chore anywhere near the beach, but we didn't have to worry about it. The heated pool is nice, if a little shallow. We love seeing all the pets around. Mini golf in the lobby is great, but they need to leave it out longer! There are a few negatives, like noise through the walls is a bit much for this class of hotel. We would definitely recommend.

I am currently staying at this hotel. Very disappointed with my stay so far. Upon check-in the dogs are suppose to receive treats, um yeah still no check in treats for my pets. They are also suppose to get doggie beds, well the bed is a lot smaller than the dog. I thought perhaps they just had standard beds, but I saw other dogs with bigger beds. Besides the fact I had to call the front desk after arriving at my room, due to 2 dogs and I have a set of bowls for 1. I had housekeeping services today not yesterday and wow the other reviews are correct, totally missing the target on this one. You get 2 glasses in the room, well when both dirty we leave one in the room, take the other, and don't replace another? The glass doors, mirror, floor, and outside table never wiped down, and this is not a Motel 8! Comforter not changed, 2 dogs, and dog beds that are not big enough for them, maybe change the comforter? The best part of this is that I paid more money for valet parking, dinner, and wine package. What a joke, quoted on the phone $48 a night for valet parking, so thought this was a better package. Not. The only have 1 type of white wine? Maybe explain that when someone is making reservations. I don't think this location lives up to the Kimpton name. Thank goodness they have some really good staff, but you need some fine tuning at this location.
