Was here for the Rooftop Cinema, so I can't comment on the rooms. The Rooftop Cinema, though, happens on the fourth floor, which doesn't sound like much, but it actually offers stunning views of the city. They have a set up with a bunch of cloth lawn chairs on carpet and ample concessions (food, popcorn, and drinks, including alcohol). They also offer blankets for when it starts getting chilly. The chairs could maybe have been a little more plush, but honestly that's the only nitpick I have. I look forward to going again!

I go to San Diego yearly for comic Con and have stayed in a number of hotels. This is the place to stay if you are lucky enough to get it in the lottery (or are rich and can afford 900 a night for the handful of saved rooms). Your proximity is close to have a quick walk to the convention center, but not right next to it like the Marriott so you have insane foot and car traffic. The service is great. I've been fortunate enough to get this hotel twice and both times get early check in. There is a couple bars, 2 pools, a quick food spot, a gym, a breakfast place, and a tap room/restaurant. I have not been here for a normal stay but I have no doubt the service and stay will be excellent as usual.

I mean the view is spectacular. Lots to do in the area. The bikes and scooter rental is plentiful. I am a local. And my friend visited and stayed here. Her room was nice but small. But perfected located with easy parking. Especially if you have guests coming. I was validated. Many local areas will validate parking for there. Lots of cool touristy things to do in area. Good choice.

Really gorgeous Hyatt hotel with beautiful ocean and city views. Top of the Hyatt has some wonderful views but the restraint needs major work customer service wise. I suggest skipping a meal and drinks there and just checking out the view. The room was bigger than I anticipated and had gorgeous views of the city, ocean and Coronado bridge. Coffee maker was available with a small assortment of coffee and teas. The lobby is really grand. We were impressed upon arrival with the entrance alone. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had some issues on this trip with service and the Top of the Hyatt, but the gentleman who assisted us went above and beyond to fix our issues. Very pleased with this stay and we will be returning in the future.

I’ve visited San Diego 3 times and have stayed at this hotel 3 times. Great customer service. Clean lobby, not cluttered. Good amenities, especially if you’re willing to upgrade to club level for a bit more. The front desk staff are incredibly courteous and help with any questions you can throw at them.

All the workers are respetosos and friendly. The rooms are Bello's.

Great hotel with very helpful staff.

Beautiful facilities, both in the lobby as well as the room itself. Next to the convention center which was easily accessible by both the main road as well as by the Bayview walk along the back. I was staying there for a professional event and everything was made easier by being able to send my presentation materials ahead to the FedEx Print shop which was also located inside the hotel. I'd I'm ever in San Diego again, would definitely book a stay again esp if it's for a professional event. Didn't mention customer service, but also deeply appreciated the hotel's flexibility with later check out as it allowed me to change after my presentation. Superb service as well.

Very good place fairly large account with 1 swimming pool on the 3rd floor in the Spa area and 2 whirlpools and 1 large swimming pool on the 4th floor and free for all guests of the hotel… it is fairly safe to go up more floors above you need to pass the card of the hotel in the lift… just buy the food apart as there is a kind of buffet only several restaurants on the 1st floor of the hotel.

Excellent Hotel, Harbor Tower has an excellent view of the Bay. Complete with large swimming pools and a gym. Have to try the burger from the bar that is in the lobby.

Excellent hotel to stay in Down Town San Diego. Choose room with a view that is phenomenal. Highly recommended.

I came here for a conference. This place is the real deal. It's beautiful inside! I didn't stay in a room but I wish I had! It seems like the staff are very attentive and accommodating. They were even kind to me and I was just attending a conference. There's plenty places to get something to eat both within the hotel and within walking distance. I really enjoyed a nice meal at their Sally's restaurant. Next time I'm in San Diego, I will be staying here! It's in the heart of downtown San Diego and surrounded by fun activities for the whole family!

The Grand Hotel is huge, you have to get lost. The rooms are different among them for the view, depends on which side you are. There are a couple of pools, a gym and a view from the bar at the 40th floor crazy.

We are staying here now. The first room we were in had a power port so filthy I did not want to touch it. The hotel said that the material is not cleanable. Then why have it in a hotel? Next I needed a cold Compress and put taps only ran hot water (burn your finger hot). After about 15 min of running we got somewhat warm water. This was sink and tub. They sent someone to repair it but 15 min after the repair it was back to hot running from the cold taps. We had to phone and convince them to Change our room. The next room was better. They have an 1 cup coffee Maker in the room but only give you dark roast coffee yuck. The staff is friendly which is nice. I do however expect a step above for the cost of the rooms. There is no microwave in the rooms and the fridge barely works. Would I stay here again? Not if I was paying for it.

This place had the best hospitality I have ever experienced at any Hotel. I recommend this hotel as one of the top Hyatt's I have ever stayed at. The views were amazing but the text from the manager welcoming us once we got off the plane was the best thing I have experienced. This place is amazing.

Stayed here for a conference and had an amazing experience. Decent views from 18th floor. My daughter loved the fireworks at night time and befriended a bird who she fed through the window opening, which is great to feel the sea breeze. Seaport village is right next to it, from where city tour trolley could be taken. The only downside was the extremely high price on food and the $3 water bottles in the room.

I reserved two single king bed rooms in August for a convention at the end of February. When I arrived, I was informed that my room was unavailable but that I could upgrade for an additional fee or they could move me to a room of lesser quality. The fee itself wasn't even 8% more, $20 on a $260 per night room, so it wasn't the price that was the issue, it was the principle of the matter. Frankly, they should have upgraded me and not said a word. It's not like they were going above and beyond to do me a favor. "Your room is ready. Here you go. Enjoy your stay. " That would have made this review a 5 star rating instead of being disappointed with the hotel from the moment I checked in. They used the same up-sell tactic on my employee when they showed up later that night. After flying from NJ, they were exhausted and ended up getting stuck in a room with 2 single beds because they just wanted to get some sleep. I spoke to several people at the convention center that were also staying at this hotel, and they related similar experiences during check-in. This seems like a horrible practice for a hotel to, in essence, hold a room hostage from people that have been travelling all day, in an attempt to up-sell their guests so they can pocket an additional 7 to 8% per night.

Very good hotel for the conference.

Room was really clean and comfortable. They have some amazing views as well. I was here for a conference and there is a lot of space. There was another conference at the same time and it did not impact ours. The catered food was delicious. As far a amenities they have a large gym, several pools, tennis courts, and a spa. The surrounding area is also nice with plenty of things to do and places to eat all within walking distance.

Extremely luxurious Hotel. It has a terrace with sea view. All people can get to it is terrace and take a drink while contemplating the sunset.

Great room. So many things to do close by. They had wonderful customer service and courtesy was top notch. I will be back soon! Thank you for making our trip comfortable and fun! The people in the 24hr cafe are awesome. Both the day and night shift. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating.

You can open a window which is very pleasant and leaves fresh air from the Pacific into the room. The hotel offers all imaginable amenities such as pools, ample (paid) parking spaces with direct access from the lobby, shops, restaurants, a 24-hour shop, rooftop bar etc. The service is fast, friendly and you feel not only to be a guest among thousands. The room was absolutely quiet and none of the adjoining rooms were listening to noises or conversations. The hotel is centrally located and you can reach almost everything on foot or with a short taxi ride (Balboapark 10 minutes by car, Coronado 15 minutes by car, Gaslampdistrict 10 minute walk). The tram also stops just outside the door. Highly recommended!

It is a hotel which is impressive for its size. I can't speak of the rooms as I have stayed there. The lobby is immense.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego is a magnificent hotel. Whatever room you get, you are guaranteed a spectacular view of the San Diego Bay. The Seaport tower provides a wonderful view of either the USS Midway or our the Coronado Bridge. Similar views are available from the Harbor Tower as well. Rooms are spacious and very accommodating. Larger families can get rooms with adjoining living rooms which act as a great common area between rooms. Market One, the in house food store, has a great selection of salads and sandwiches. They also serve Starbucks coffee, if you want it. The service in all parts of the hotel, from the front desk, to the bellhops, and extending to the room service and housekeeping staff, is excellent, and everyone is really helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anything from a weekend getaway to a large corporate event.

This amazing hotel is located in great area. Nice view to ocean, clean, luxury, nice and large rooms. Hotel and car parking accessibility little bit annoying but OK. Car parking fees is expensive. Hotel service and response time is good. I do recommend staying at this hotel if you are willing to visit San Diego. I think it is the best.

I would give this 4.5 stars. Excellent hotel. Staff very conscientious! Wanted to make sure we had the best stay possible and our needs were looked after. The only reason for a half a star less is the linens on the king size bed were not luxurious … the bottom sheet didn't fit. However we have found this has been the case at other hotels as well. They all need a new supplier. This Hyatt is right beside seaport village which is a great little dining and shopping village. Beautiful view from the window of our room.

This is a very nice hotel with very professional staff. I was there for a business trip with a co-worker and the check in person was nice enough to upgrade us both so we could be next to each other. The place has multiple places to work outside of the room if necessary. The Wi-Fi worked well and the amenities were great. It also has great views of the harbor. Do be aware that there is no free overnight parking for guests. I would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable hotel in a great location. A short walk from the San Diego conversation center and the Gas Lamp. There's a 24 hour food place by the Seaport tower, and super easy access to Seaport Village. The beds are a bit firm and the sink is kinda annoying. It's nice look at but doesn't drain very well because of the design; it's one of those flat style sinks rather than the usual bowl style which would drain so much better. Way more pros than cons in my experience and I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful and within short walking distance to a wide variety of tourist locations! The service has been great and very accommodating. I was here on vacation but they also have a large convention center and large ballroom spaces for parties. They also have couple in hotel restaurants, in room delivery, and a 24hr market which was nice for snacks or late late night food. I would highly recommend, worth every penny.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in. That's all you need to know. Our room on the 34th floor in the old tower had one of the most dramatic views of a city that I've ever seen. The elevators are quick. The service is perfect. The amenities are perfect. This place deserves the "grand" name in every way. Don't hesitate to splurge and stay here.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful! We only stayed for one night but we got to experience all of their nice little amenities. You can text any question you have to them and they will answer it. If you go out to the pool at night, they have fire pits and will give you complimentary s'mores fixings. It was really quite an experience. When we come back to San Diego, we will definitely stay here again!

Walking distance to the shore, parks and tons of great restaurants. Of course you can get pretty much any type of food delivered as well. Highly recommended for short or extended stay.

Its always a great stay at the Hyatt Grand Manchester! The entire property staff is very nice and accommodating! The location is superb as its only a few minutes walk to gas lamp and the harbor! The Saturday Fish market has outstanding fresh local seafood that you cannot ignore! Plan B Sustainable fishery offers up some of the best seafood San Diego has to offer! I wont stay any place else!

This is a very nice Hotel! Everything about it screams opulence and beauty. I've stayed here three times over the years for a week each time. I really like it! The pool is nice. The bar at the top of the tower is definitely worth a visit. The views are sweeping and very, very impressive. The Hyatt is located right next to Seaport Village (a touristy shopping place) which is always fun to visit. It is within walking distance of the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum. I'll come back because it is very nice.

We've gone super in the pool with our children. With a beautiful view at sunrise and in the evening. Excellent location. Recommended!

Great hotel located on the bay overlooking the island of Coronado. The service was excellent. Near the hotel is a wonderful area for walking and entertainment-Seaport Village with a bunch of cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. Nearby is retail-a former police station with a prison, which after the closure arranged a class entertainment center.

A cool conference venue. Spacious. Eat and drink. Nice view from the window to the city and the sea.

Great rooms with a luxury feel and great views. Beds were comfortable and the TV was huge. I was on the 23rd floor of the seaport tower. The free Wi-Fi was spotty at best. I could not video chat with my family back home. At the suggestion of the staff, I paid for the "premium" internet connection at $9.95 per day. After 15 minutes on the phone with tech support, I still only had a 0.31mb connection. Thankfully the front desk waved the daily fees. It may have just been a problem on that floor, but it made being away from my family difficult. I would stay there again, but only if my fam was with me.

The rooms were great. Service was also great. One thing that would have made the stay better was if the hotel would have let you know of all of the discounts available to those attending the special event such as the discounted rate for in-room Wi-Fi.

The observation deck was amazing. These vistas seemed endless. I would definitely recommend it. Be careful though. Many workers and patrons looked at us as if we didn't belong there. It was annoying.

WOW! What a gorgeous hotel and the amenities are out of this world! I was there not too long ago for a conference and the hotel just blew me away. From the rooftop restaurant to the gorgeous pool, this is a place worth returning. The staff was extremely courteous and the location was fantastic. I will definitely be returning.

I enjoyed my stay. Overall, a little pricey for the quality. The rooms were very nice, beds comfortable. My only complaint is that it was somewhat noisy. I could easily hear semi-quiet noises from the adjoining rooms. The service was excellent.

The location cannot be better. Union square is right across the street — cable cars in front of the hotel, numerous restaurants across all price ranges within a few block radius. The staff was attentive for all request from restaurant advice to directions to booking transportation. The bar is cozy and a great place to watch the Giants win! I will be back.

Stayed for the RIMS 2016 convention. Nice rooms with a beautiful view of the city/bay. People are friendly and the staff are nice. The hotel is within walking distance to the convention center and other attractions. You can walk to the US Midway as well, I highly recommend checking that out.

Stayed here for my 10th anniversary and it was wonderful. Great experience. The breakfast was awesome. I wanna go back just for the breakfast. We stayed on the top floor. The room was cozy. Overall it was a wonderful experience for me and my wife. Thanks to all the staff.

Absolutely do not stay here if you are a Motorcyclist or a member of the NRA! My sister and I were in town from Chicago on a rented Goldwing and BMW R1200 when we stopped in. Immediately on driving up in the drive we were hawked by their valet who informed us he was under strict orders for not motorcycles to be seen from the front entrance! He really said that! We decided we would suck it up and check it out anyway. Then, in speaking with one of their receptionists, I happened to ask jokingly of they had any discounts for "Triple A, AMA, NRA, NAR, … I'm a member if all" to which she responded laughingly "Oh yeah, NRA, I'd like to see that. " I asked "Uhm, what do you mean? " and again, laughingly, she said "yeah, like I'd like to see those people, can you imagine? " as if NRA members are absolute animals. I was so floored and figured this hourly bag clerk would never be able to grasp the concept of individual liberty that I just walked out and wrote this review. Clearly the Hyatt corporation has a deep seeded disdain for our great nation and those who enjoy the liberties and freedoms provided by it. Therefore, if you happen to believe in the 2nd amendment, or enjoy riding a motorcycle, you ought to spend your dollars elsewhere.

The Hyatt is a fairly upscale, modern hotel located in the marina area of San Diego. My experience was likely not terribly instructive due to the short nature of my stay, but during my short visit the staff was very friendly, the room was as expected and the view was exceptional.

The hotel itself is very nice. Rooms are clean and the staff were friendly. The design of the rooms and furnishings are up to date as well. The only thing that would be nice would be to have some type of continental breakfast, even just coffee and muffins. The coffee on the rooms was not good.

Beautifuly refreshed hotel on the water. I love the new modern decor they've done. The old decor was seriously in need of some help. The new look definitely fits right in with the modern style that is downtown San Diego.

Our room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was amazingly comfy. However we booked a suite and while the room was large and had amazing views it wasn't actually a suite. Nonetheless we loved the room and thought the hotel was great.

Through convenient, location good, the value was super high, it is very suitable to Hong Kong shopping, people accommodation.

Hotel was great. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with amazing views of both downtown and the harbor. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Gym is extremely well maintained, and has plenty of strength and cardio equipment. Some in-hotel amenities can be a bit overpriced, but with the Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village in walking distance, there are plenty of other options for food, drink, and shopping.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt was a very elegant and large hotel. The two towers stand tall on the SD Bayfront and are definitely hard to miss. When entering the hotel lobby, the first thing you notice is how big this place is. The front desk is definitely bustling with guests checking in and out. Check in is at 4pm, but I requested an early check in which they gladly met without an additional cost, but I'm not sure if this was because I'm rewards member. I read on other reviews to request a room on the higher floors and when I received a room on the 10th floor, I asked if I could have one above the 15th floor. They said it was no issue and an hour later I was in my room on the 21st floor. My view faced the city and the bay on the east side of the building. It was truly spectacular and spent most of my time in the room staring outside the window. We had a quiet room with 2 queen beds, which seemed much smaller than a queen. The room itself was nothing too exciting, but the view made it all much better.

Very nice view from a Harbor Side room. The room itself was basic, and the sheets were slightly dirty. Also, the shampoo / conditioner wasn't very good. Otherwise, the room was fine. Comfy bed, which is always important. The facility overall is gorgeous. We were there for a company party, which was great. The food wasn't quite as good as the Grand in La Jolla, but it was still quite tasty. Parking is atrociously expensive, but that's to be expected for the location.

The hotel was truly impressive the way the design language of the hallways as u walked to your room the color schemes. Everything worked together to give u that elegant feel as u made your way to your room for the night. The room and bathroom were a feast for the eyes. If I could afford to stay there year round, I would. Highly recommend this hotel.

It is a beautiful property with equally beautiful staff. The service is top notch. Definitely sets the bar for hospitality hubs near this property.

Everything was nice, grate service, but we ordered a complimentary breakfast witch we made sure came with the room. We went to get our breakfast and they checked to make sure, and yes you have a free breakfast. As we checked out they said no the room didn't include free breakfast. We had a picture that they didn't charge us but still they said sorry it didn't. So we paid 80$ for what was spouse to be a free complimentary breakfast. Everything else was nice the wiew and everything around the hotel. But I will print out what I what I reserved next time. This was supposed to be my cancer free gift from my wife to me. I enjoyed San Diego and didn't let this bother our celebration. I think I'll use a different hotel next time.

It's a short walk to the Gaslight District, which offer excellent food and great atmospheres. The hotel it self is grand. The entry is hige, several bars and restaurants. The rooms are well appointed, but like most hotels the bathrooms could use some additional attention when cleaned. Self parking is $35 with unlimited in/out. Great rooms, incredible views, showers could be nicer, old and too small for a modern luxury hotel. Still give it 5 stars though. Hard to really change the room sizes around in a building that has already been built.

Management did not return emails about costs that were put on my credit card after the stay. Was charged for parking for 2 nights when my room key did not let me into garage. Would not stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, terrible service. We booked our room in MAY for an August trip and when we checked in they told us our room with two beds would be ready at 4. Sent us our early check in (after an unknowledgable rude front desk attendant told us we couldn't do it even though someone else told us we could) and then when we got there they said it didn't matter, there was a convention and i. They could only give us one bed room. Again, we booked this 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE, online with them, with the guaranteed room we paid for. Would not recommend if you want to get what you pay for. Way to go Hyatt.

Someone had a drink with a different name but my room gets cchargrd for it. Typos in the system? Anyway the management system is just bad! Otherwise the hotel has some nice views. Front desk can sometimes be painful process to go through but the night shift front desk people are much nicer.

Arrived late, and though I had a guaranteed reservation made weeks earlier, they had no rooms. Was put in a "hospitality suite" that had a pullout couch with a 4" full mattress. I ended up pulling the cheap mattress off the rickety frame and SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR while my wife had to sleep on the couch! Was promised a credit (for less than half of the room rate), and a promise that they would put us in a "club level room" for nights 2 and 3. The next day we were taken to a standard room and had to make a stink to get the "club level room" as promised — which appeared to be the same type of room on a higher floor. Didn't get any "club" privileges or notice anything special other than a better view. Ended up tipping the porters twice because management tried to cheap out on their promise and we had to room hop. Never thought that the first time in two decades that I would have to attempt to sleep on a pull-out again would be at a Grand Hyatt! A horrible experience.

This is a nice place to stay, great location and well appointed. However I would recommend getting a room facing away from the intersection to avoid the constant bell ringing from the train crossing.

I stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt for 5 days in March of 2015. I was attending the CSUN conference (30th Annual International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference). Sure, the facilities are nice. The place is huge and offers several places to eat and relax. But what I was most impressed with was the hotel staff! It can be a challenge for any hotel staff that hosts a conference that has hundreds of people attending and many of them have a disability. People with guide dogs, canes, wheelchairs, etc. But I was so impressed with how excellent the staff was. They were: Kind Thoughtful Informative Helpful Accommodating Proactive Flexible All of them wear smiles on their faces and all of them treat you with respect. It doesn't matter if the person is a manager, part of the housekeeping staff, bartender, whatever. They also are at ease with people who have disabilities. When I was on the plane home I realized I left a pair of dress shoes and a pair of slippers in the room dresser. I contacted their lost and found department (Gordana Leger) and both items are on their way back to me as I write this a couple thousand miles away in Boston. And her smile came through on the telephone just as it would if I were speaking to her in person. A HUGE thank-you to the staff and management of the Manchester Grand Hyatt for reinforcing what a world-class hotel should be.

Very poor sound insulation plus loud party next door kept us awake all night. Had to call hotel security multiple times to quiet it down. The worst Hyatt that I have experienced.

Very upscale and business oriented. I attended a conference here and I have to comment on how attentive the staff is. A great hotel for business travel.

This Place is awesome. Nice to go because the place looks nice and the people that work there treat you with respect. They have everything you need inside the Hotel.

We had our 'rehearsal brunch' at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego the day before our wedding and it was perfect. Working with Manatee throughout the planning of the event before and day of was so great she's professional, super organized, creative, easy going and helpful. The room looked gorgeous included the beautiful lanterns, fabrics, furniture, and of course the amazing in-house art, our guests had the best time, and it was an all around fantastic party. It could have been our wedding! It's really conveniently located, close to a few subway lines and had a really great/hip feel that really we couldn't find anywhere else in the city. There's also tons of parking right outside which was great for our local family.

Love the bed, super comfortable. The Grand Club is worth paying for the upgrade if you aren't a Hyatt Diamond. Great selection of breakfast foods and evening appetizers. Dessert is skimpy and not worth the wait. It can be a long walk from the parking garage so the extra $ for valet is worth it. Tip: Street parking is free on Sunday.

Had a very bad experience with the hotel customer service, My wife called front desk in the morning to request a late check out since I didnt fell that good. Talked to a girl which was really nice. We asked for a late check-out till 2PM, and the girl said the best she can do is 1:30PM, and when we called again around 12 to double confirm the late check out, we got transferred to a guy named Kyle, he denied our approved request from the previous girl we talked to. Stating that he is the hotel manager and there are too many ppl waiting to check-in (on a Sunday), and he also stated that there is no way to check who we talked if we don't give him a name, and THERE ARE MORE THAN 20 GIRLS AT THE FRONT DESK ANSWERING THE PHONE. (seriously, on a sunday, 20 and more reps at the front desk answering the phone or its just you dont want to find it out?. Bad experience.

Beautiful hotel. Went there for a conference and stayed a few extra days to explore the city. This hotel can be a destination itself. The pool deck is lovely, with cabanas, a bar, and breathtaking views of the bay. There are various ways to entertain yourself there, from the numbers of restaurants, cafes, and shops in the hotel itself, to the in-house spa and the adults only pool. I had a lot of fun just at their free ping pong and foosball tables. All of the staff were so very accommodating, friendly, and professional. The location is conveniently located right next to the Gaslamp district, and we loved strolling around that neighborhood as well as the touristy area of Seaport Village (also next door! ). The proximity to everything is fantastic. There are also many cabs that are always lined up outside of the hotel so getting anywhere further than just walking distance was a cinch. Also, if you like taking walks and/or jogs around a city, there are so many nearby paths that can take you along the bay, along the Embarcadero, or into the city. I had such an amazing time in San Diego, in part because of this great hotel.
