Not a bad one stop. GREAT location. 2 star accommodations — 4 star relative pricing for the area — 5+ star on proximity to both beach and highway access. Your goal: don't be in your room. Ever. Consider it a closet with a bed and a toilet. Get out, enjoy SoCal.

I stayed at the same chain of hotels in San Diego five days earlier and I wasn't satisfied at all. I know it's a matter of price. I stayed at this hotel in Encinitas and paid more. The room was much better, it looked cleaner and nicer, but breakfast was just so sad. They had touted it as an intercontinental breakfast but it was nothing like that by far!

This was a decent place to stay for the price. We were on a budget vacation to Legoland. We had 3 kids and 3 adults. It was a tight fit, but at made it work. Free continental breakfast in the morning was a money saver for us. Pastries, cereal, milk, juice, oatmeal, bananas, toasters (some days they had cinnamon bread, or you can toast your own bread or bagel). The rooms were clean and our was a place to sleep. Or took us 10-15 minutes to get to Legoland each day and we were going against the rush hour traffic. It fit our needs nicely.

Arrived here 6/8/2018. After a long day at the beach my son and I decided to go for a swim at the pool. It was getting dark so the lighting was poor. Well after 2 mins I felt a sting/burning sensation on my neck, I put my hand on it and saw a red ant on my hand. I looked closely into the water and at the top of the water floating everywhere were red ants. I told the front desk girl what had just happened and suggested that they close it before a kid or someone else gets bit, her response was "oh ok my maintenance guy isn't here" and shrugged her shoulders. Hhmmm. Well later we went and came back around midnight and all of the parking spots were taken so that was another fiasco. Well that's my rant I have one more night here hopefully it's better than yesterday.

Small room, dirty carpet… Other guests sound like they're inside your room. Location is good because it's close to the beach.

Waoooooooooo to the truth that I loved this hotel. Everything is super clean. The bed, the microwave, the bathroom, the fridge, everything. To the truth I loved the hotel and the room. It has a fresh, clean smell. I recommend it to the 100 is the first hotel of this type that I give the 5 stars. I have to spend a few days here so I can talk about the area but in what goes with the room I got I can say it is the best. Better than the two I stayed in Vegas. Very good price. 60, 000 a night and I don't regret it.

Not one a good service the receptionist treated us very badly not if by being Latina did that but she looked from India.

One of nicer Days Inn. My Grandfather regularly stays here. Staff always very helpful, especially Rayven. Rooms always clean and housekeeping will provide anything extra you need. There can be noise issues so if you are an early to bed/early riser just let them know and they will see about quieter area. Great organic grocery store, Lazy Acres, right across the street. Very walkable to the village of Encinitas with lots of shops, restaurants. Moonlight beach an easy 10 min walk. Beautiful park, Cottonwood Creek right across street also with bbq area and children’s play area.

Its a nice hotel. The reason I'm scoring it so low is because of the maids knocking on your door before checkout time and bothering you if your going back in your room before checkout time and looking in the room which is your own privacy that you paid for. You would think the hotel has it set up like others when we tell them we are checking out they let the maids know. Here's a tip hotel let the maids know who has checked out so they go clean those rooms and leave everyone who hasn't to their peace until checkout time. All the doors in the rooms say checkout time is 12pm.

Budget hotel but clean and in a good location. Not too far from the main town. You have to walk along the motorway for about 3 minutes before getting there but I thought it was quite cool. They also have a swimming pool which is tiny but does the job :)

Just what you'd expect for days inn. Clean and neat room. Breakfast provided. Good location. Would spend another night.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was clean but kind of small for us. The noise level wasn't bad considering we were right near the 5 freeway. The breakfast was good and so was the coffee. The location is fantastic with Moonlight beach a short drive down the road and awesome restaurants close by. Quite a few plant based and vegan options which we really enjoyed. Encinitas is an amazing place to visit. Overall a very nice stay.

Basic but nice location and pretty clean rooms. Not bad for the money compared to locations around the same area.

Room was nice and clean. Only about ten minute walk to moonlight beach. There's a grocery store right across the street. Nice affordable room.

WARNING: BED BUGS! Never again. This place looks good from the exterior, but our room was definitely sub par. There were nasty stains on the furniture as well as the filthy carpet, rude staff and as stated in the intro, the most regrettable, BED BUGS! I'd give zero stars if I could. Such a gross place! We stayed years ago, and all was good, but they have obviously changed management. Oh, and Yoana's attitude was inexcusable, not only to us, but we witnessed her treating the guy in front of us with the same degree of disrespect. There are much better alternatives in the area.

Inexpensive to stay at and walking distance to beach. Breakfast is simple but there is a Danny's next to it.

Room was clean and tidy. No weird smells. Ten minute walk to beach and great food. Overall, a solid experience.

Great location, right off the freeway, but without the freeway noise. Room was clean and housekeepers were friendly. The beds were uncomfortable. However, I would stay here again. The breakfast didn't have a large selection, but Denny's is walking distance away.

Great hotel with friendly staff that is both freeway close and walking distance to downtown Encinitas and the beach. Best value based on location.

Immediately off the highway. Outdoor, unprotected parking. Small, clean, functional rooms. Tap water has unique odour, but apparently safe to drink. 10 minute walk from "downtown" with all the restaurants and shops (but really ugly walk along the highway exit to get there).

It's a days inn. But a pretty decent one. It is located literally off the highway relatively close to San Diego beaches, Legoland, the zoo, the botanical gardens, and some nice shopping areas. It is also reasonably priced. If I am in the area again, I will be staying here because of proximity to other things.

Room prices are really good. Floors need to be cleaned. In general it's a good place to stay.

This is the second time I stay here At Days Inn in Encinitas. I am pleased on how clean the rooms are. Definitely recommend it! :)

I will say it's a bit spendy but also I'm spending a weekend here. Friendly staff, room is small but it's great for 1-2 people. I got my request of a smoking room and it didn't smell horrible (like a heavy smoker). Shower and all amenities are nice and working. I would come back :) also it is close to the beach and many food places and a gas station.

Front desk personnel has not much of personality the room was okay very small but we were able to get comfortable and we're strictly down here for business for two days so we're comfortable to make our appointments also the Denny's is right next door which was nice the coffee in a room I really enjoyed it the TV worked very well and we also are handicap so we had handicap parking with no problem so far and I'm speaking at 6:33 in the morning.

If the most important things for you are location and price, this is a pretty good location. The breakfast is decent and free which is good, but, the beds are not as comfortable as I would like, stairs, parking most of the things look pretty old and let down. And getting the AC to work properly for us was a trouble had to put it to the lowest so that it will cool the room if not it will turn off and the room would still feel warm.

The hotel is very close the Moonlight Beach (walking distance) and a very short drive away from Legoland. With that in mind, the hotel is very good for its low price. The room is smaller, but not tiny, well furnished, and the bathroom is a good size.

Good sized room, quiet, love having the fridge and microwave, good price, very comfortable, awesome to be able to walk to the beach.

No frills place to stay. Probably it's best feature is that it is Dennys-agacent. But don't go there, go to Peabody's across the street.

Nothing fancy. Room was clean and they have an ok breakfast. The staff was friendly especially Gordan. We stayed here to hit Moonlight Beach and Legoland.

Staying at Days Inn was a mediocre to good experience for both me and my family. The rooms were aduquatly furnished and cleaned, though they were rather cramped. I found that the staff were ahelpful, with a respectful attitude. The only remarkable thing was how close the location was to Moonlight Beach and the freeway. Overall, it's a cheap place to enjoy a vacation at.

We stayed here last summer for a beach vacation. We thought the value was great. The rooms were clean, and the hotel was quiet overall. The breakfast was nice with various options, including fruit. We walked to the beach every day and also walked to downtown Encinitas. If you have a car, there are plenty of stores nearby to buy groceries for snacks, sandwiches, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced from a Dennys.

Very happy with the hotel for the price. Had a couple problems with our room initially but Misha at the front desk did a great job of putting us in a new room to correct those problems. Much better than your average Days Inn.

Yes, the rooms are small. But the furnishings were fine, and the staff was helpful. The Continental breakfast had muffins, toast, and cereal. No waffle to make or anything.

Nothing special. Clean except for the comforters which appear to be laundered infrequently.

I was hoping for two nights right on the beach, but that was way out of my price range. So I settled for this little gem, a little ways from the beach. I give the hotel 4 stars, but I give the city of Carlsbad 1 star. The city of Carlsbad decided to host a Tri-athelon on the same Sunday we were planning to go to the beach. The beach was open but we couldn't drive up to it like we did last year, we had to drive and drive and drive to find a place nearby to park, then walk about 45 minutes, carrying all our beach stuff, just to get to the water. After 2pm they opened the roads and the parking filled up, but I didn't want to hike back to the car and move it hoping for a better parking space. From 11am to 2pm the road was closed for the tri-athelon. Blah! My advice to those that are reading this is to make sure you check the events for the area to find out if they are closing the road to the beach before you go, it would have saved us a huge head ache.
