The room was OK. Location was good with all the restaurants and stores around. Walls are so thin. I heard people having sex above me in the middle of the night. It literally woke me up. Found a dead fly on one of my towels. The staff was nice and they had security on site. Though I would see multiple people that looked like they were either hanging out or sleeping in their cars in the back parking lot. I would stay again as a last resort, but wouldn't recommend.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Motel 6 Central Sacramento. The other Sacramento locations have been nothing but horrible customer service and management. It was a breath of fresh air coming to this motel 6 and I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sacramento. The rooms are beautifully cleaned and nicely updated. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and kind. We love the pristine pool and how they leave specific pool towels out for us! I can't say anything bad about this location and I will be staying here again! Thank you motel 6 Sacramento central location for the wonderful service and hospitality!

Staff was great. Rooms are about what you would expect for a budget motel. I had issues with the Wi-Fi and had to request a refund for it. There was a lot of light seepage around the door so I'm glad I always bring an eye mask. The AC worked great which was very important.

Checking in was a breeze. The staff was thorough and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, but it did smell like smoke from the previous occupant. A better deodorizer would go a looooooong way. My comforter was stained, but the sheets were clean.

Easily one of the worst motel experiences I've ever had. I showed up a half hour early before I could check in. I was told I had to wait until 3:00pm which I understood. I then asked if I could wait by the pool until check-in time and was told no. I was staying there that night, checking in in 30 minutes, and wasn't allowed to sit on a pool chair! Once I finally was assigned a room, I walked in and the room was a mess and clearly hadn't been cleaned. I went back to the office, was assigned another room, and the same thing occurred. I went back one more time, and the third room wasn't clean! I then got to listen to the cleaning service and the office manager yell at each other about rooms not being clean when they said they were. Fun! And I just found out I got a fungal infection on my feet from the disgusting shower. What a joke. Terrible experience from a terrible location (guards are camped out all night to enforce a curfew because of the bad area). Don't stay here!

Horrible experience! We have stayed at this location several times since our son goes to Sac State and plays baseball but we will NEVER GO BACK AGAIN! We really appreciate the security but how about cleaning the rooms! We had no towels, TV did not work, the floors were so filthy that my wife and mom refused to go barefoot. Complained to manager and front desk for 2 days and never got the room cleaned or any towels. Sheets had BUGS and burn holes in a non smoking room too. Asked for clean sheets the first night and did not get any until Saturday night after 9pm. The room next to ours was complaining to main office both times we went to complain because she had no towels since Monday. This was Saturday! When we checked out and asked for a refund they tried to give us a voucher and we refuse to ever come back so the voucher was no good. We asked for a number to management and were told they were unavailable but they would let them know about our problem and would get back to us. That was yesterday morning and I’m still waiting for someone to contact me 38 hours later.

I had a great time at this hotel. I requested a smoking room but checked in later than expected and one wasn’t available. I understand that happens. The woman at check in explained that those rooms go quickly and because I was late, it wasn’t available. Make sure to go early for a smoking room! Big tip! It didn’t matter though. I was able to go right outside and smoke when I needed to. It was comfortable and quiet and clean. I’d definitely stay again.

For a bargain hotel, this one is terrific. Rooms are clean and comfortable, desk staff is friendly and efficient. At this price there are no frills (no coffee maker, hair dryer, or amenities), nor did I expect any. I needed a bed for the night and it met all my needs. I would stay there again without question.

I’ve stayed in a fair amount of hotels and I must say that this one is surprisingly awesome! The hospitality of the front desk agents is beyond professional. They’re constantly upbeat and chipper, always looking to help specifically Alicia. She’s the BEST. Housekeeping was very quick, courteous and remembered to bring me towels hours after they cleaned my room which I thought was awesome! I had totally forgotten. The property is beautiful, clean and quiet. They have 24-hour security and let me tell you, that security guard is on it. He sees and hears everything so don’t come here if you’re looking to party and break rules because he’ll catch you before you even finish thinking about it. I booked the double room and it was large enough for myself, my mother and my toddler. The room itself was VERY clean and fully stocked with toiletries. The beds are AMAZING. They’re more comfortable than my own bed at home! I’ve stayed in one other Motel 6 and it was absolutely horrendous. This hotel is by far better than 99% of hotels in this price range in Sacramento. The managers name is Sue and she’s wonderful.

I've personally rented a room here on multiple occasions over the course of many years. Never in my life have I experienced such professionalism, equanimity, and love from the top management to the bottom employee (not be misunderstood as insignificant in anyway). After a long day at school and riding public transportation, upon entering my room, I was greeted by an opulent display of towels folded in an indescribable origami configuration and a heart warming note decorated with hearts eminating surreal affection. Ty Sheila! Ty Whitney! Don't be fooled by the name and the appearance. If you stay here, you will be treated to five star treatment unmatched by the "best hotels" in the area.

The location was perfect for us. We were there for a meeting at the college and the motel was nearby. It was easy to find, just off the freeway and near gas and dining facilities, in fact there was a Denny's next door. The facility was clean and comfortable. The staff was great. They were very friendly, and I would especially like to thank Marcus who checked us in and provided information and directions while we were there.

I have raved about Motel 6 to family and friends as I've been impressed during my last few stays. Unfortunately this last visit has me far less than satisfied. The front desk clerk was nice. But when we got to the room I realized I was put in a smoking room, I'm assuming because I had a pet. My boys were asleep before I even had a chance to ask for a room change. It's unfortunately that having a pet seems equivalent to being a smoker. I get that you want to make sure you keep your rooms clean, but I am not a smoker and suffer from allergies. Being put in a smoking room because I had a pet is not fair in my opinion. My boys have respiratory problems as well. Had I known I would be put in a smoking room because of a pet I would have stayed at another motel. I will have to start staying at other motels if your pet rooms are smoking rooms. My bed was also less than desirable. It was sunken in where obviously many people have laid on the side and moving an inch made is squeak so loud it kept me awake.

I come to this location every once in a while and am always warmly greeted by Marcus at the front desk. He is very welcoming and takes care of any needs regarding my room. I always have a great experience when Marcus is working.

There was not even a tiny little bottle of shampoo. People were smoking weed in the coridors or very close to the rooms and the whole smell came in to the rooms. I was in better places for that price I payed. I need to add that every location is different from each other. So I can not judge the whole company just because of 1 location. The people at front desk were very nice and helpful people.

I liked how clean the room was, & the hardwood floors were nice. Everything was very neat & properly arranged. The towels were fresh & perfectly folded. The bed was cozy. The only thing that could have been better was there was no microwave or fridge & it took me a little while to find my room number. Other than that everything was nice!

This place is just like any other motel six. This area has some homeless people around. In not sure if they stay at the hotel sometimes. But for the most part it seemed quiet. The staff seemed likeable when I went there. They have security which is nice. Its decent. I would stay here again. There is a McDonald's a Taco Bell, liquor store, Mexican food, a bar, a restaurant and a 7-11 convenient store close enough to walk to. So that's all a bonus. Plus they will leave a light on for you.

The customer service is awful! The assistant manger or manager has a nasty disposition! Threatening words NEVER came from my mouth! I’m still waiting for a credit (one week later) from the air conditioning/heating unit leaking all over my bags. I had to ask for wash clothes. I’m glad I had my own soap b/c there wasn’t any in the room. They have ash trays in non smoking rooms. The rooms reek of cigarette smoke.

The motel had a very warm feeling and felt fresh and clean. My family has stayed at many hotels and motels but this was definitely in the higher end for being clean and well kept. My on cons are no do not disturb signs no microwave or fridge.

I loved the stay the security guards were great I've stayed at many motel 6 and never once had them so clean and safe. The staff was awesome even when they were on break or lunch and you need something they helped. Over if I stay in Sacramento again I know where I'm booking my room.

Comfortable and clean. I liked the wooden flooring and wall mounted TV. Spartan but affordable for the Sacramento area. Corinna was very friendly and accommodating, even though the office lobby was busy.

We did not have any water when we checked in. A pipe had been leaking and they were busy working on it. The staff was very nice… and we had hot water in the morning. We've stayed here several times. Feel safe knowing they have around the clock security. I like that it's got everything you need close by and you can bring your pets!

Marcus on the front reception was really helpful and pleasant. There was a water main problem on the block being fixed at the time and rooms had to be rearranged, there were also other customers being difficult with there own requests. But Marcus held he's composure and provided great service to everyone he served. The stay was affordable and comfortable.

Our door did not want to close completely. The guest sometime in the night was trying to get into their room and everything could be heard. They lost their key and was using a coat hanger. Thank goodness for the night security. The mattress was beyond firm. On the other hand the staff checking us in Marcus and the supporting staff was great, friendly and accommodating. I loved the peace of mind with the security and the cleanliness of the room was better than other hotels.

Was here for a night. Pricing is a little much for what is included. No shampoo nor conditioner for showering. Not that its required but little things like that are welcoming. Security guards are kind. Overall good experience.

I have always stayed in motel 6's and I have never had the problems I had here. The toilet seat was broke, no shampoo, bed sheets and blankets all had stains on them, the floors weren't swept because there were little piles of dirt and whatever else along the baseboards, I had seen and heard what seemed like a prostitution ring staying staying at the hotel, no do not disturb sign and when I asked housekeeping to not enter the room while we were not there it was difficult and apparently a problem, the towels were stained and had hair on them, and the door lock was difficult and wouldn't read the key sometimes. The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because of Corina. She was absolutely wonderful when she checked me in. She's an asset to that establishment and a very hard worker. She was the only good thing about my experience.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. The price was extremely affordable. But there were some issues. There was a cigarette burn on the covers a few inches away from a weird stain. The toilet seat had another cigarette burn on it and this was a non-smoking room. The towels had stains on them and were nicely folded to conceal the stains. If you're low on money, time, and options, stay here. Just know that they won't tell you about the quality of the rooms until you sign and pay.

From checking in it was okay the girls or very pleasant and the young man it took a little longer to check in I think they were training one of the girls and that was fine … then when I first went to my room my key didn't work so I had to come right back up there I have them do my key again and the room was okay it was supposed to be non-smoking but it's not like it was lightly smoking there it had cobwebs like no one had been in that room in awhile and the bathroom door had damage on both sides of the door tried to reach the front desk to let them know and there was no answer nor did they call me back when I woke up the next morning I called the front desk talk to a young lady and told her that I wanted to move to a downstairs room because I had problems with walking up stairs and I would be there for 2 days longer they said they would call me as soon as the room was ready never heard from them then I went out for lunch came back couldn't get into my room with all my lunch and my hand and my children had to stand out the door with all their food in their hand and my husband and 100 degree weather because again the door key did not work again so again I went to the office had a late a very long time because of man working there didn't seem to know what he was doing and the young lady that was sitting down did not help and then again I asked him about moving and he proceeded to tell me that I have to call during the day and I told him I did call and they never assisted me so

I only stay at Motel 6 when I travel because the price is right and they allow pets. Each time I get to my room, it either feels clean or it is just disgusting and dirty. This past visit was by far the worst ever. When I went to check-in, the room wasn't ready (I came at 4pm) and I was asked for wait an hour or choose a different room. I choose a different room and it was disastrous. On the floor in the room was cheese and lettuce (Taco Bell is across the street), so I cleaned up the food as it wasn't too big of a deal. Then, I sat on the bed and noticed hair all over both pillows. I was disgusted. I flipped over the pillow to check the other side and there was makeup on the other side of the pillow. I know makeup VERY well and that makeup that would have came off in the washing machine. Next, I looked at the bedding and there were little pieces of hair all over the sheets. I feel pretty confident that the sheets were NOT changed, they were re-used. The final straw was when I noticed there were bare feet prints all over the floor. This tells me that the floor wasn't cleaned either which is why there was cheese and lettuce next to the bed. Finally, I went to the office and requested a different room. When I got to my new room, you can tell that it was cleaned, it smelled good, the sheets still has creases from being freshly unfolded, and the overall feel of the room was fresher.

Everything was nice and clean. However a light was out and the fan in the bathroom was broken so ot made alot of noise whenever used.

I rented a room at this place. First off these rooms are small with fake ass hard wood floors, the covers had holes and stains in them. Went to go check the bathroom and there was piss all over the toilet (disgusting). Had to change rooms and this was a little better. For $74 and change this is a waste of your money. The manger here was a very nice young lady, she did everything to make me comfortable.

This place from the valet to the front desk is fantastic. They even Clean, quiet, staff is pleasant and very helpful. Definitely a bargain at the $200 price point. Don't tell omni they might raise the price.

I agree with viewer John, the price is reasonable and good value. I find my room is clean and I do like the security guard on site. This is the first time staying with Motel 6, I will reconsider it next time when I look for lodging. The front desk Chris is very nice and friendly.

This place sucks no refrigerators in the room no irons you barely get towels and one roll of toilet paper and I was staying a week. They didn't mentioned in the brochure that they have armed security guards in the parking lot 24 hours a day I feel really safe here NOT! Check out time is 12 p. M. If you want a late check out late its 12:10 how stupid is that. I can't wait to get out of this God damn place!

Note that this is a Motel 6 so take the rating in context. This is a bare bones Motel but it is clean, safe, and cheap relatively speaking. Read a lot of reviews saying the place was maintained poorly and did not see any evidence of that. It was actually way cleaner than I expected and I could not see much of anything that needed attention from a cleanliness or maintenance point of view. Read about the added security and that is true but the security guards are nice and I believe the security is aimed at college kids who party and trash things rather than the area of town being unsafe. It is right across the street from campus so I am sure they get a lot of partiers who trash things and the security looked to be designed to throw those types of folks out, which does not bother me in the least.

I would not recommend this property to other customers. The girls at the front desk are friendly and helpful, but watch out for the manager Connie. She is incredibly condescending, rude and argumentative. Additionally, be prepared to constantly be questioned by the security staff. I guess this is a high crime area so security stops just about anyone they see walking on grounds to question them about whether or not they are a guest. And if you drive into the parking lot without your parking pass being visible, prepare to be stopped and questioned until it has been placed in view. If you have a choice, go to an Extended Stay America property instead. The service and accommodations are much better and the price is a better value.

Stayed there three nights, mostly without incident. Was not told I was getting handicapped room upon arrival and I had to ask to change rooms because I didn't like the shower. New heating controls on wall did not work and I used the old heater near the window … but it took me more than a day to figure this out and it was cold. Blankets extremely thin … had to ask for two of them. On my final night there a woman who was not a guest of the motel but staying with a man there started screaming and did not stop until arrested. Could have done without that. Average guest a bit on the down-on-the-luck side. Front office staff was better than average. There was a young woman there who was Mexican-American or maybe mixed Mexican and Asian and she was extremely nice and helpful.

We stayed two nights, after staying at other Motel 6 locations on our vacation. What we didn't like was: the swim pool felt slimy and the chemicals didn't smell like a pool usually does. My son and I spent the first five minutes pulling hair balls and other debris from the water and throwing them on the patio. The key cards were not intuitive and we finally learned that you push and pull the card key, it won't open, quickly insert again and push door open quickly, and it opens. The width of the parking spaces is woefully narrow. I parked next to two SUV's who were parked perfectly in the tiny spots, and all of their wheels were on top of the lines. At other Motel 6's I enjoyed the free Wi-Fi because I am AARP and my ten year old son was graciously given a Wi-Fi pass also. At this Motel 6 they were hard core and indicated there would be a fee for my son's laptop, but not mine. So my son and I traded use of one laptop back and forth, and were not able to play minecraft multiplayer together or work on our computers at the same time. A small thing, perhaps, but it characterized the stingy, penny pinching atmosphere of the whole operation. On the good side, the beds and air conditioning worked well, and there were stores all around where we could re-supply ourselves.

Good location (close to Mid-town and East Sac). Security was very heavy and some of the guards were jerks. It was very clear that the hotel suffered from crime/prostitution problems and was trying to crack down on these. Good that they cared and were cracking down on it, but bad as a guest who has to stay in a hotel going through this. Room AC didn't work and it was the middle of the night before we realized. Sheets and towels very thin. Poorly insulated walls (can hear neighbors TV going all night) etc. It was a surprise finding such a place so close to campus. I wouldn't want to send my kids to CSU Sacramento if I stayed here. I do hope the staff are able to turn the place around though. It's a good spot of a hotel.

Most rooms smell like cigarrettes. I think they flip smoking to NS to appease arriving guests. After all, why are ashtrays present in NS rooms? So, requesting an NS room is moot. Updated interior, but dirty linens ruin the experience (see pic). This is Motel 6. So I got what I paid for. Only positive is attentive office staff. But, can't blame them for the problems with this place. BTW: property is close to hwy and CSU, so can be noisy at times. Last gripes are pillow cases that don't cover the pillows. Shows how lax the housekeeping is. Don't see any hoodlums skulking about described in a prior post, but defntly see plenty of CCD domes. Sorry, system doesn't allow upload of pics. Again, the room upgrades look good on first impression, but are quickly dashed when closer inspection reveals inattention of the most basic services. Ohh. And, just found out the bathtub drain doesnmt work. Great.

We won't stay here again. The rooms have been recently remodeled without any carpet. The bedspread looks it hasn't been washed in months! We could hear a dog barking as clear as if it was inside our room. It's obvious there is rampant drug use here. We had an upstairs room and could not only HEAR every word being spoken down by the pool, but could also actually FEEL them walking outside our room! I've stayed in fleabag motels that were nicer, more comfortable and safer feeling.

Exceptional from lobby check in after 8 pm to check out two days later. Great room service.

Its a $50 room and you get what you pay for. I keep coming here because of the price and its close to Cal Expo, but its a crap shoot as to what kind of room you might get. Once before I got a clean, good smelling room and the next time I got a stale, smoked tinged ash tray of a room. The Wi-Fi signal is hit and miss and not free like most other places. There is good security and it seems to be necessary because I can always spot a few somewhat shady looking characters roaming around the premises. Like I said, though, its not supposed to be Courtyard or something and for me, these things are to be expected.
