For a one star hotel it gets a 4 star rating. My concern was the floor in the bathroom of room number 214. It was sunken and felt like there was a depression in the floor when you stepped in and out of the shower and the floor tile was cracked. Also the hot and cold in the bathroom sink were reversed. Blue indicates cold but was hot water. Red indicates hot but was cold. Staff very nice, room clean. It's an acceptable, affordable, quiet and excellent location alternative considering what else is there in the market. We would stay there again. I still think is is overpriced for what it is, or could you give us more than one use, tiny bar of soap and shampoo over the counter.

I stayed at Napa Motel 6 for a week while taking a class in the area. The staff (with one exception) was very accommodating and friendly. The room is about what you expect from a Motel 6 in terms of quality of furniture, etc. The cleaning staff left my room spotless every day. The biggest concern was the pot smell. I stayed in a room the first night, and it was like someone was smoking in my room. I asked to be moved and moved to the other building. However, I heard other guests complain about it at different times during the week — meaning the problem continued from the time I arrived to the day I left. This seems to indicate that a staff member may be the source of the issue. Also, there were bugs (not roaches) in the bathroom at night. The hot and cold water were switched on the bathroom sink facet and there were no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, etc. It wasn't terrible, and about what I expected. The flowers and pool area are kept up well, and the outside is in very good condition. I always felt safe, and as I said, the staff was friendly.

Somewhat disappointed, this is the first time I have stayed with you folks. Electrical outlets in the bathroom did not work properly. The TV channels we’re having some type of issue we’re only half the channels had audio. This is generally a satellite dish issue and you need to contact your provider to have this fixed. Also, that air conditioning situation is not acceptable. You cannot be controlling that from the office. We were in room 211, the furthest from the office I’m sure and it was like an oven in there. It was a hot weekend to begin with but there’s no way it should’ve been that hot. It was very uncomfortable to sleep and we definitely won’t be staying with you again because of that.

Unfortunately this was the worst motel/hotel experience of our life. While the room was clean, that was about the only positive we could find. The windows were so thin and loose we could hear everything outside quite easily. While the hotel made clear there was a quiet time at 10 pm, a group of men played a game of washer toss right below our door. They then proceeded to make lewd comments about my 22 year old daughter when she went outside the room suggesting they could come up and join her in our room. They played until after midnight. Air conditioning was running when we got there but stopped later in the evening and there was no way to control the flow of air from the room. How nice. The flow of water for the shower was so minimal, I could have achieved the same result with a couple of squirt guns. The curtains barely covered the windows so we also got to see the bright lights from the parking lot all night long. Lastly, my wife turned on the blow dryer and it started smoking and almost caught fire. When I told the woman at the counter she said “oh we know that’s why we are replacing them”. Well that may be true but you DON’T leave a fire hazard in a room and potentially risk the lives of your customers. If they can’t be replaced right away, then at least cut off all the electrical cords so they can’t we used. We paid $172 including taxes. It wasn’t worth $25 per night! Would certainly never stay here again, but frankly I can’t ever imagine staying at one anywhere.

Everything was fine except for an extremely loud AC system that blew cold air all the time. It was extremely loud and I was told it could not be turned off but I could adjust the vents. However, the vents were old and did not close properly so the noise was even louder when I tried to adjust/close them. I had to wear a coat to bed.

When I stay at Motel 6 I don't expect luxury; I do expect functionality. The price was a little high; but it's Napa… everything was costly. The window coverings felt gross and grimy. Being able to see the two by fours holding up the sink in the bathroom was tacky, and please get rid of the telephone! The fact that the A/C was controlled from the office would keep me from going there again. The unit was loud and the room was cold; second night I slept in my sweatshirt. There was nothing telling me to contact the office for climate control and the heater looked scary. First night was pretty quiet; second night not so much with the person upstairs clomping around between midnight and 3:30am. Oh and not taking cash. The grounds were well cared for; the pool looked nice and the parking was good and free. I liked the Starbucks across the street and the Squeeze Inn burger was yummy. Staff on scale 1-10 / 5.

The room was clean (the hairdryer could be cleaner). Extra pillows were appreciated. Pillows and bed were comfortable. Nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. Very close to the railroad tracks, but the train didn't run late at night. Nice to be close to other amenities (shopping center across the street). Check-in and out was efficient.

Great location, and the cable included MSNBC, yay. Loved the mini fridge and microwave. But why no coffee maker? Good shower. For Napa, the price is very reasonable. Great for the pocketbook, not so much for comfort. The mattress was just too hard, a pillow top would be make a huge difference. Next time I may bring something with me since I travel by car. Will definitely bring my decent pillows. Daylight could be see under and side of door. The old corner booth type seat is saggy and needs new stuffing. Thank goodness they have quiet time starting at 10:00 PM. I would like it to continue to at least 7:30 AM!

Location is great, however the rooms and the staff were very unsatisfactory. The rooms were updated in some great ways, and were also very much in need of other updates. For example, the wood floors looked great, but the walls badly needed a new coat of paint, and there is a light switch that was busted in our room. Also, the guests that stayed above us were incredibly loud from 3-6ish. We told the front desk about it the next morning and she said she’d leave a note or something and also suggested we call the front desk if it happens again. However, our room didn’t have a phone. So our second night stay the guests above us continued to be loud, so I went to the front desk at 4am and told the clerk about the neighbors being loud and keeping our family up, and he said he’d try calling them. I’m not sure if he did or not, but the noise continued until after 5am.

I chose the motel due to the motel's close proximity of the Napa Valley Marathon start and the Expo. I've been here many times just for the Napa Marathon. This was the worst time. The toilet made noise every couple of minutes because the gasket was lose and it was losing water. Everytime the tank would fill up, it would make a loud hissing noise. The people above clanked their shoes heavily. These noises made me lose valuable sleep time. Needless to say, I was like a zombie at the start. The towels were rough and had blotches of stain as if it had been in the car wash. I will probably spring for a nicer hotel next time.

Of the best Motel 6 I've ever seen. Clean rooms and provide Wi-Fi, fridge and microwave.

Honest place. Pretty good location. Big room, small fridge. Lack of anything. In California everything is expensive, given this. No value for money. Lunch not so bad. Hot oatmeal and the like.

Well… this one is gonna hurt… First the good: location is good (less than 10 minutes from downtown Napa, market/starbucks/restaurants across the road), the bed was comfortable and flat, room and bathroom were clean. The bad: there is some kind of motel-wide air conditioning system with two big vents in every room, which CANNOT be shut off, and a LOT of air is coming out of them. Mind you, the shut off the AC part, but there's no heat coming from it, just a mighty wind. Combine this with a crooked door to the outside (see pic, taken with the door totally closed) negating any potential insulation and a barely-there blanket (with no extras in the room), when it's cold outside (it was 35 in mid march 2018) it's freezing INSIDE. There is an ancient wall heater, but it makes SO much noise, it was almost impossible for me to sleep with it on, even with my head sandwiched between two pillows. This is in addition to the noise from the vents, especially when you 'try' to close them with the built-in 'shutters' which leads to a wonderful wheezing, whistling sound. As a bonus, around 9:20AM housekeeping knocked on my door, and before I was awake enough to say anything busted open my door. Mind you, I have stayed in many places in the world, from the most posh to the most low-end, and I have completely realistic expectations, but this was one of my worst experiences to date. For $100 per night, in my book all of this is unacceptable, although when it's warm out it would be fine.

If I Could give it a zero (0) I would. I thought a Motel 6 in Napa, how bad could it be?!?!? This hotel showed me just how bad it could be… Our room had filthy walls, outlets, and power switches. The heater for the room was so filthy it had dust bunnies flying out of it! The centralized ventilation system they have was so overwhelmingly loud that you could not hear the tv, nor could you shut the vents off because then it whistled all night long! The ventilation system overpowered the capabilities of the heater in the room, and we spent the night freezing. The room telephone was broken! The "Cable" Tv, if you want to call it that only had a dozen that worked and the rest were all static. I have pictures of all of this. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place!

It was nice. Nothing fancy but it had what we needed to have a comfortable and safe spot after a day on the town. I would stay here again.

Wish I could enter a negative stars, STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOTEL 6! The general manager Maggie was extremely rude. She refused to say why she decided to cancel my reservation last minute. The only words she kept saying was "I'm not renting to you get out! " Even tho I already paid for my reservation. When I asked why she said "I'm calling the cops get off my property"! I literally just drove from San Diego with reservations to stay here just for Maggie to cancel my reservation with no reason and kick my family out. This is my first time I ever reserve at motel 6 and it is definitely the last!

Neat and with parking space. Highly recommended to spend the night.

For a C-note I thought it would have been a trifle better. ($100). The room was clean, and it had a microwave about the size of a shoe box. The small reefer was not turned on so somewhat useless for a single night. It was quiet, there was a pool (closed during winter) with a handicap lift for pool Access. Staff was friendly and the mattress was acceptable. I slept well but was dead tired so I really can't rate the bed. Overall it was ok.

Cheap and convenient location. The older lady that worked at the front desk was rude, if a guest says good morning say good morning back, not very hard.

Very bad service, the ad said on the Internet the cost of 79 DRS, and paid more than 140 DRS, for a very expensive night…

We paid 129 for the most basic room in the universe. Fine, it's motel 6. We didn't expect more. But we got a none smoking as my youngest son has serious asthma. So we expected a room without smoke issues. We started smelling smoke in the middle of the night and his asthma got so bad we had to have him sit in the bathroom with the hot water running to create some steam to help clear his lungs. We almost needed to go to the ER. Your none — smoking rooms are clearly somehow affected by smoking rooms and we realized in the morning they also have ashtrays right outside the non smoking rooms which is insane. This created a horrible night for us. I would like a full refund for the intense stress this put on my little boy and on me. Thank you.

The room (212) was clean and comfortable as you advertise. The heater doesn't have a thermostat though, only on/off, so I had to get up in the middle of the night because it was too hot, and the heater grate could use a scrub or coat of paint. Lastly, still on the heater, it was a bit noisy as well as the fridge. It was good value for the $90.25 a night (booked almost last minute on priceline dot com), but I would not pay much higher.

Furnishings and room aren't new or stylish. Just standard motel stuff. Staff are friendly and helpful. You cannot beat the price for this area. There was a pool but I didn't use it. It's very convenient in terms of location and plenty of parking :)

Clean and convenient. Bed was uncomfortable. Thought for the accommodations it was overpriced ($160). Thankful to get anything given the fires. Lighting outside room was brighter than needed, good thing curtains were thick.

The room was clean and located close to a Starbucks. The room is definitely a budget room. No frills or extras. There wasn't a coffee maker in room. The seating around table was weird and the AC is controlled by office.

From a stain on the bed, a big bite on my wrist and cockroaches running across the floor in the morning, 1 star is to many stars for this place. I would definitely not recommend this place if you are staying in napa. Trust me, pay a little more for a nicer hotel. When we told front desk about the cockroaches, the lady would not make eye contact with us and said that's gross… that's it! For $171.00 a night in wine country, this was beyond pathetic.

You butt holes didn't let me stay til noon because "you were all booked that day. " when I looked out side the parking lot was empty. If you're going to BS me, at least have the courtesy to give me a legitimate reason. Such as "your are not special and your stay will not be extended an hour. So get your stuff and get out by 11am. "

Overall for the price, the stay was fine. Convenient location if you are looking for a place to crash at the end of a long drive or day of wine tasting. Rooms were clean and simple. Beds comfortable.

I'm rating my experience poor because our accommodation was changed after it was confirmed by the attendant at check in and felt somewhat discriminated. I was traveling with friends to celebrate their 30th birthday. We had requested to have our rooms next to each other upon booking our reservation online. Since I arrived early, I was able to confirm that our rooms were next to each other. Thinking everything was settled, to our surprise, my friend was given a different room, even though the room next to us was still unoccupied. She went back to the lobby and inquired about our accommodation. The attendant was honest enough to say that he was verbally informed by their "white" manager to not have our rooms next to each other, and if we would like to speak with her, to come back in the morning. Since the time had passed, we did not bother speaking to the manager since the room next to mine was already occupied and we were checking out the next day. After going through this experience, I personally feel that I'll never make any future reservation to a company that treats their customers the way my friends and I were treated here.

Love this Motel 6. It is always so clean and the desk staff are very nice. They have morning coffee service in the lobby and a super clean pool during pool season. I stay at this one quite a bit. Lodging is expensive in Napa and this is a great stay.

Sheets were dirty on one bed. Dead bugs on floor from door to bathroom to door to room. Inn keepers can't leave office so was given a broom and dust pan. My brother in law did the honors. There was no where in town to stay other than this. I can promise you I would not have been so kind for the treatment my brother in law endured. The two women in front need to be reprimanded or fired. Policy should change.

AC is not in room, woman at front desk was nasty when we asked to have it turned on and hung up on me at 3 am. Hair Dryer broken, remote and bed cover dirty and grimey, Not a fan of the location, wouldn't go outside by myself due to the hangarounds. Won't be staying at this Motel ever again. Stayed in a Motel 6 in Auburn the previous night and it was delightful, clean, courteous and everything worked.

Stayed here last year for an overnight visit to wine country and had a very pleasant experience, however, this location has gone downhill in the past year. There were transients loitering on the property, people drinking in the parking lot on plastic lawn chairs, and I'm pretty sure there was a drug deal taking place in the parking lot when our uber dropped us off after dinner. We are pretty laid back and easy to please when it comes to budget accommodations but we felt very unsafe and won't be visiting this location again.

We were really excited to find this place, but were extremely disappointed at the lack of customer service. I called and asked about their pet policy; the woman who answered the phone told me that our three small dogs would allowed. We arrived the next day and I let them know we had dogs as the signs said to do so. A woman behind the counter overheard me stating that we had three dogs. She said that the maximum was two. When I told her that I called the night before and the woman who answered the phone said that 3 dogs would be ok, she became passive aggressive. She told me that I should have checked the web site. I did check the website and that is why I called as it did not state a number of pets. She insisted that the number of pets allowed was on the web site although I was staring at their website on my phone. Regardless, why would I have had to check the website when I called them? As soon as I entered the room, I looked up the website on my computer to triple check and there was no amount of pets listed. She made an "exception" for me with the dogs. The next day at checkout, I told the woman at the front desk that I was very upset that she was so insulting. I did everything I was supposed to do and yet she blamed me, the customer, for not checking something that did not exist. The woman told me that she would talk to the manager who had spoken to me like that. I let her know that if I did not receive a call apologizing for the treatment, I would share my feedback.

Newly renovated with laminate dark wood flooring and flat screen tv. Looks clean and affordable for Napa at $101 on a Saturday night. Old bathroom tile with yucky grout but strong hot shower.

I am reviewing the motel 6 in Napa, CA on Trancas St. The room was absolutely horrid. The bathrooms seemed like they wern't serviced in a while and the beds were very unconfortable. Would not recommend to anybody.

Cannot beat the location and price. Great service at the front desk. Quiet room in the back was perfect.

Great location — OK rooms — mine was a bit smelly and because I had a dog I was in the back with the people staying who were working in the area. At first I was a little intimidated because there were a lot of guys with trucks sitting outside and I was on my own (female) with a dog but the guys were very respectful and friendly so nothing to worry about. Rooms could do with a bit more of an update other than refurb of floor and bathroom — BUT it was affordable — one night was enough, the smell was off putting for longer.

I thought that we could be ok for just one night at this motel. It was horrible. The worst was the air conditioning that would not turn off. There was no temperature control in the room. There was a heater. We turned it on and woke up in the middle of the night to turn it off. We covered the two vents that had cold air pumping out of them with pillow cases. The mattress was covered with a plastic like material that made noise every time either of us moved in bed. The bathroom fan was not usable. It was so noisy we had to leave it off. There was no heat source in the bathroom and the morning temperature was 40 degrees. I used the hair dryer and the hot water from the shower to warm up this room. It looked like the room may have been recently renovated. It had fresh curtains and spread. The TV had a box build around it that made the sound muffled, even though it was a relatively good TV. Our total for the night was $143.00. It is a pet friendly hotel and one of the reasons we chose it. Our normal hotels were not available so we were forced to try this one. Budget locations can be comfortable. It is clear that who ever owns this one does not care about some of the basic expectations a traveler would need.

Gross does not cover it. All the money spent on cheap "retro" interior could have gone to air fresheners, or cleaning supplies. Best thing I can match the smell to when I walked in is a piss covered hamster cage. Creaky floors, unfinished "upgrades", horrible smell, rooms do not have individual thermostats (the office controls it), not enough parking, mold, dirt, if its nasty its here. never again.

Rooms do not have individual climate control. What they do have is sub-par and the room feels stagnant. The restroom vents don't appear to be separate, unless left on you're smelling someone else's room. For nearly double the cost of a normal motel 6. Avoid this place. Unlike the other listings on Google $115 does not include tax. It's $131.

Good: Affordable, clean, first experience with Motel 6 remodeling program; kinda Art Deco/modern. Bad: Noisy since next to fwy, neighbors bbq-ing outside their room.
