I would not recommend this hotel. It is right next to the freeway and train tracks so there are noisy semi trucks and trains driving by all night. Also the price is too high for the poor location.

Nice clean hotel off the highway. Rooms were nice, the air conditioner was near bathroom and not on when I checked in so took a little longer to cool room. No elevator and tile steps, kind of scary while carrying luggage. Overall, very pleasant stay and nice staff.

We booked a queen bed for two adults, and expected a classic "Best Western" exerpience of a comfortable bed, clean room, and nice breakfast. When I checked in, the room rate had been upped from 99 to 128 without my consent or a notification, and I had to have it corrected. All the ladies at the front desk were polite and helpful, they were not a problem during the stay. The bathtub had an orange spider in it upon arrival. I am a small woman and I had to shoulder the door to the room closed in order to lock it (be mindful that this door faces a parking lot, the security of at least a properly closed door would have been appreciated). The door to the bathroom did not close or open properly, and I actually ended up scaring my mom when I had to tug the door open from being stuck inside the bathroom because of the loud noise it had made. The area surrounding the refrigerator was dirty and had obvious spills, but the refrigerator was at least visually clean. The outlet on the bedside lamp held my charger hostage for a good number of tugs, and I was worried I would receive a shock. Neither of the drains actually drained water; the sink would not drain enough for two people to even brush their teeth without the water running, my mom had to brush using the tub while I used the sink. She also had to use an empty garbage bucket to pail out water from the bathtub and into the toilet after she had taken a bath with about five inches of water.

Illegal wiring and no air conditioning on at arrival made this an unacceptable experience. It was 104° outside when we arrived at 4:00 in the afternoon. It took 5 hours to cool the room to 71°. Manager said it was an oversight on the staff's part but another guest came in and demanded a refund starting his room was "uninhabitable' duedue the heat. The bathroom door is installed backwards and the hot and cold water is reversed in the shower. Minor details that added up to a relatively poor experience. Most of the staff was amazing and very helpful but it didn't counter our room being so hot.

Friendly, helpful. The ladies made sure everything we needed was taken care of … above and beyond. Clean and a great shower.

Stay away from this hotel. It’s directly next to the highway and a freight train railway that makes the whole hotel room shake. Even with ear plugs in the noise is clearly there and makes it hard to sleep. Luckily the air condition in the room is even noisier but sleeping without it is also not a option. Never again and for the price asked a total rip-off. If you need to stay there, go 200m further where there is a Doubletree hotel which has build the rooms away from the highway (and has a wall to cover from the noise, which the Best Western doesn’t even have).

To avoid because too close to any noise nuisance: motorway without sound bar a 60M; train a 150 m, Club karazoke a 20 m from the hotel.

The desk girl was so nice, but one of the customers was acting crazy, the room was clean too.

Clean comfortable room friendly staff great breakfast. Would have been 5 stars but a lot of traffic and train noise. Guess we should have run across/heat unit to cancel some of it.

The price was a little lower than normal for a Best Western but we found out why. It was very noisy. Trains went by on one side, and Hwy99 was on the other. Many times that isn't a problem but this hotel is old enough that it has single pane windows that let in the sound. Other than that the place was decent. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was about normal for a BW. Our mattress was passable but nearing the end of it's life. Not quite up to my standards but still okay.

Very comfortable rooms, however there is a lot of noise in the mornings (pass the train), and in the course of the day as it is facing the road, also when closing a door is heard that is in your room.

Nice room, very clean. Breakfast was good. Was a helper there to help moms or disabled people. Fairly quiet but we were by the stairs. Would stay there again.

Didn't sleep at all. It's so close to the freeway and a train track, the walls may as well not even be there. The freeway constantly has deisels driving on it and they're extremely loud. Only good thing was the breakfast.

Nothing wrong with this place at all. Seeing some of the reviews I think they must have stayed in a different hotel.
Air Con worked fine, the room was clean and smelt fine. Noise from the freeway was minimal, Never even heard a train either. Lovely friendly staff, great breakfast too. Would Defo stay again 100% Ignore the negative reviews it’s fine and dandy!

Had the best experience at this property. From check in, breakfast experience and check out. All employees very warm and friendly. The property well maintained and clean. Room clean and comfortable. Will stay again when in area.

Guest privacy invaded by cameras exposed to all guest tv. A concerning front agent Audrey rude and racest. Although Kayla is very pleasant and kind. Lost found will not be recovered due to the room attendants.

Room was clean, nice tv, check-in was great. The problem comes from being jist feet from the highway. You can hear a dang bicycle driving by! Every motorcycle, tractor trailer, car, etc sounded like they were driving right through the bedroom. Great place to stay if you do not want to sleep.

The employees were awesome and the place was nice and clean with a very inviting swimming pool outside! Loved it! I'd stay here again and recommend it to all my friends.

I was roasting, the air conditioner is the hallway close to the bathroom. The temperature was 107 in Merced California. I asked the attendant if they had any other rooms available with better air conditioning and she said no so she offered a fan then I said OK but she never brought it pretty disappointed in the room and the service as far as cleanliness that was great but being it was hot it wasn't called for.

Clean room, nicely furnished including refrigerator and microwave. Had it not been for hard pillows, a broken remote and low water pressure at the sink, I would have rated my stay four stars. Good value for the price which also included a hot breakfast.

Comfortable beds, fancy fridge, the breakfast was amazing with eggs and bacon and a staff member pressing hot fresh waffles. Didn't get a chance to try out the pool. Room was very clean, shower had great pressure and heat. Really friendly staff. Over all a very good experience.

After hours of driving we arrived at almost 1 o'clock in the morning our room was disgusting, it's smelled horrible, the bathtub was filthy, the floor was soaking wet and our six-year-old daughter slipped and slammed her leg on the pavement had to call the front desk twice to get anybody up he told us he'll get us a refund and then we could leave at 1 AM! We will never stay here ever again!

This motel is supposed to be pet friendly. There is an additional charge for pets. However, there isn't anywhere to walk the dogs other than a very small patch of dirt. I don't understand how they can call themselves "pet friendly! Pet Friendly it is not as I stated above. However, the breakfast was atrocious! Frozen butter, watered down juice and coffee, rotten oranges. Nasty!

This place does not have pet rooms if you book online! False advertising.

Great hotel for the price. Two things I disliked though. There was breakfast but it was mediocre, and the freeway is directly in front of the rooms. The freeway noise was quite significant, and made it hard to sleep without earplugs. Very comfortable, and clean though.

I woke up in the morning to a roach in my room. They credited me $16.60 but should of refunded me the whole amount.

Very poor service. Went to ask about the room amenities and the manager was so rude and lazy about his responses. The rooms looked nice and all but his poor attitude alone made my decision easy to go elsewhere.

I didn't have any major problems, but like most motels in Merced, it's kind of close to the freeway, and the constant semi traffic down 99 can be a bit noisy (was in a front room). Also, like many hotels, the "free internet" (wired only) never worked (DHCP off line evidently). Breakfast was OK — good muffins. The TV also has a channel that shows the parking lot security cams in case you're really paranoid about your car and want to keep an eye on it.

The A/C units are very badly placed in these units: in the bath area. While I was showering, the smoke alarm went off. There was smoke coming from the A/C unit electical outlet. So, we called management who asked us to move to another room. So, we had to pack all our things back up and move to another room. Once in the new room, we noticed that an electrical outlet had exposed wiring. The next day, we asked for a discount for all of our trouble and we were not given one. We were very annoyed by all of the trouble plus such a lack of good customer service. We will never stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here in 2006. Rooms stunk, interiors were poor and drab, and the night I stayed there, there were construction morons in parking lot drinking beer being really loud, way after 10pm. The management did nothing to quiet or expel the morons.
