The hostel feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. A great sense of isolation. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spacious. Hot showers and clean sheets. Hiking trailheads right next to the hostel. Great place.

I did not like that the kitchen closed at certain hours during the day. I would like to be able to get in the kitchen whenever I want like other HIs.

The staff made the trip that much more amazing. And the beach is so close!

Awesome place, beautiful, bucket list place. Dorms and bunk beds but I don't mind.

Nice place… very slow internet and terrible cell reception though.

1st time here and I loved it so much can't wait to take my kids… staff are so nice. Alot of trails that u can explore;)
The hostel is 30 to 40 mins hike to the beach! Super easy hike it will be great for the kids!

We went with a big group for a school field trip! It is beautiful! The staff was friendly. The place clean and perfect for our needs. I definitely coming back!

What a magical place! Will be back to roam the wilderness and meet kindred spirits.

Make sure you know how to get there as there is no phone coverage around the area. Well-supplied kitchens for guests to use. Potlucks on fridays at 7. Linens and towel provided. No Wi-Fi for guests. Books and board games in common areas. Make sure you read their signs carefully! They have everything labeled.

Cool location, but way too many rules.

I've been visiting this hostel for a long time. This place enables me to exert all my energy on the trails and beaches in the Point Reyes National Seashore and not have to drive back to San Francisco. I've met a lot of wonderful folks at this hostel and some even became lifetime friends. But if you ask me the best aspect about the Point Reyes Hostel is the ambience and the staff. Very relaxing and a "slow down" kind of atmosphere. I especially love the off-the-grid aspect of the Point Reyes Hostel and Seashore.

Nancy was absolutely amazing. I loved the personalized service she gave and you can tell she has a real passion for her job. I can't wait to return. The site is gorgeous as well.

Beautiful, peaceful hostel. Well kept and very classy for an off-the-grid stay. The staff was kind and super helpful, and it's very close to trails and other sites in the national seashore. Be warned though, the drive to the hostel is almost harrowing. Very curvy, steep roads. Prepare to use turn-outs to let ruffled locals blow past you. Not the hostel's fault, though, I had an incredibly beautiful stay.

Gorgeous remote location. Followed a coyote at a distance for about a mile on my bike ride in. Nice accommodations, clean and comfy. It's lovely that there is no Wi-Fi or cell service, makes for a peaceful retreat. However, the gal at the desk in the cozy common room was surfing the Web the whole time. Click-clacking. I stayed one night and in the morning asked if I might have extra time for check out. She said 11am would be fine. I cleared my room by then and around 11:45 was still in and out of common areas as it took a little longer than planned to pack my bike up again. I was actually scolded in the kitchen and rudely asked to hurry out. This is a hostel not even half-full in the remote wilderness. Not very hostel like vibes. Maybe just that California brand of hospitality: get what you $PAY$ for, nothing more. Maybe if I would have waved my magic visa wand I could have retrieved my oatmeal from their kitchen past check-out time in peace.

The check in was a bit disorganized. The room was fine, but then another guest was confused about the rooming policies and woke me up after midnight.

Really really nice guests, staff and facilities, everyone there seems to enjoy being out in the red woods. Clean bathrooms, beds, sheets and towels, great library, bbq porch and board games including thee 'journey to the center of the earth ' board game one i've never seen before. Great smell of the forest with choruses of frogs and birds at night.

Definitely recommended. Great location with lots of hiking trails around. Stunning art work interior and outside. Dorms are very clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely a 10/10, this place is awesome. I saw pictures online but it honestly far exceeded my expecations. The structures are beautiful, there's comfy beds, friendly staff, the area is stunningly beautiful. Definitely worth the trip out there.

I give them 5 star because of location and facility. It is a gorgeous location with awesome view. The facility is also nice. They have nice living room and kitchen. But some dorms are too congested.

Allowed me to go through one of the best experiences of my life. The staff where friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the location was stunning. 10/10 IGN.

This was my second time here. This time I brought my two girls 13 + 14. We all love this place. And I have to say the beds are to-die-for comfortable!

Nice people, nice and helpful staff, clean rooms, kitchen and bathrooms. Absolutely amazing area with lots of nice hiking and biking trails and other things to do or to see.

My first hostel experience, and you guys nailed it! Arrived and was completely taken care of by Jessica, Nancy, and Lacey! My fellow hosteliers are now family, and Point Reyes Hostel my ashram! Planning quarterly getaways here! So clean, warm, and inviting! Can't wait to beat the price! Brava!

Fantastic in every way. Nancy, the manager is great. Warm and welcoming. Extremely clean. Great place for a quiet getaway. Note: the private rooms sleep 4 comfortably.

This hostel is a standard American hostel. It is very confident to explore Point Reyes. It has a nice common room.

Know the area and have passed by the hostel many times. It's very beautiful from the outside and I was excited to go there for a weekend getaway. A couple days before my stay I came down with something and I knew I needed to cancel. I also knew their cancellation policy said that if you cancelled within 48hrs of your trip, you paid in full. I figured that given the circumstances they may be lenient with that policy or at least offer some sort of discount. Unfortunately that's not the case and I'm paying fully for my stay even though I can't be there. While it still looks like a beautiful getaway, this was just overall a disappointing experience. Something to consider when booking here.

I had a lovely week staying in the womens dorm. So refreshing for mind, body and spirit. This is a wonderful option for solo women and gentlemen travelers of any age. So many interesting places to experience. Built in climate control selection is easy by following the wind and fog to which ever ocean beach or activity suits your mood, You can climb to higher elevations or go inland to Tomales Bay and beyond. Great swimming at Drakes Beach and Tomales State Park. I enjoyed meeting people from all over the US and the world. What a treasure.

Clean and well organized. The staff answered all my questions and provided great recommendations. I highly recommend this hostel and will definitely return.

While I understand it means to be an outdoor experience but there is no Wi-Fi in the hostel and then the staffs browsing online when nothing to do make it a bad experience. And the bathroom facility is too basic. I don't know if I want to go back there again.

The best hostel in the US. Clean, friendly and great ammenities. I'll definitely be headed back. Such a wonderful area and Point Reyes hostel is nothing but a compliment.
