Needed a place to crash for the evening and woke up to one of the most spectacular sunrises I’ve ever seen. The views of Mono Lake and the Eastern Sierras are majestic. Cool dudes running the registration as well.

We loved our stay and the restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast.

Wonderful views. Quiet. Convenient. Can’t wait to stay again.

Nice big clean room with reasonable price. I appreciate they did not try to gauge us when we were stranded there by road closure due to snow storm.

Probably the cushiest place in Lee Vining. Which was just what I needed. And the cafe is tops. I wish they would let us save some water as I don't need fresh towels every day.

We got so lucky! Last room available coming out of Yosemite National Park with a parking space right in front. The two-bed room itself was very clean and spacious. We figured they were saving the last room for anyone with a disability or wheelchair because of the numerous mirrors and space under the sinks (there were 2). There's a cafe right within walking distance with pretty good food. There's a great view of the sunrise out front as well. Would love to book this place again!

I stayed in one of the little cabins and it was wonderful. The place was clean and cozy. The staff at the front desk were great and breakfast at the epic Cafe is perfect. The only problem was Wi-Fi access, which was in the process of being upgraded during our stay.

Poor. A night — 285 usd! For dark room with terrible noise. Horrid traffic noise till late at night and from 4 am. Clean but that’s it. Bad Wi-Fi, no lake view, abrupt reception Nothing to run to and back view to rubbish Avoid Booked as late booking and nothing else available but very weak.

Very quiet and beautiful. Stayed in one of the small but cozy cottages in the back and was right next to the Epic cafe.

Perfect setting. Lovely gardens. Quick check in. Private clean cosy cabin. Lovely bed and nice having kitchen. Liked to have stayed l9ger as it's in a nice area. Good store next door to get some healthier fresh options.

Visited in September 2017. Good Triple A — standard. Clean and large room With US $170 per night, significantly overpriced for the standard. At the end of September, the Yosemite Park was closed due to early snowfall. Cancellation was not accepted. So we had to take a 2ookm detour over the Carsonpass to reach Lee Vinning.
Tip: Visit Mono Lake … "wish you were here. "

Quaint little spot on the southern end of town, great access to everything that the Mono Lake area has to offer! Free Wi-Fi, plenty of food and drinks at the front desk, and super helpful staff to boot. We only needed a room for the one night, but we would definitely stay here again!

Lodge of good quality, even if one pays clearly the location.
The room was nice, very spacious and the bathroom with shower + SPA tub is a real plus.
The bedding let us spend a good night.
We'll notice the lovely view of the lake.

If you have the opportunity, be sure to book the rustic mini cabins! Wi-Fi was on the spotty side and made editing our photos quite the experience. Great location across the way from mono lake and close to local eats!

Great place right off the main road, the lake is right there, beautiful scenery. Hotel has cozy rooms and free Wi-Fi.

Room was just bare minimum accommodations amounting to barely shelter from the elements, cracked window, minimal blankets and with temps in the high teens we had to run the loud heater all night to the dismay of our sinuses. ☹️ Room was large and clean but dwarfed the flat screen television. Ask for a better room. The location is close to Mono Lake, the eastern gateway to Yosemite and Tuolumne meadows, Bodie ghost town and the dramatic eastern Sierra Nevada and Hwy 395 beckoning you to explore our natural world!

Great check in, check out. Large Quiet rooms, hot showers, great after a long week of climbing and hiking. Highly recommend. The restaurant on the property is expensive, but so so good and well worth it. Plus blueberry pie was heavenly, flank steak was absurdly delicious.

This was my second stay at the Lake View Lodge. I'll start with the negatives — 1. No breakfast is provided. This is also important because most of the town shuts down for the winter. 2. Wi-Fi isn't great. This isn't surprising though, given the location. Now for the positives: 1. Clean! In both stays, the rooms have been well-cleaned and tidy. 2. The view! Most of the rooms face due East and the upper rooms have a view of Mono Lake making for some great sunrises. 3. The staff is very friendly. 4. You're right next to the Eastern portal for Yosemite, and the Tioga Pass (when open) is an exciting drive with great views. Would definitely stay here again.

They offer free Wi-Fi but the signal strength is really weak. In certain areas of the room I stayed in had an odd smell. It was subtle but inpleasant. It smelled a bit like a cross between mildew and sulfur. Again, it was subtle and in only certain areas of the room but it was unpleasant. Keeping the windows open temporarily gets rid of smell.

I wish we had stayed longer. The room was clean and spacious. They have great outdoor space with a barbecue pit, table and comfortable chairs.

This was my 2nd visit there. The staff is always courteous and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There is a small cafe located on grounds with some great desserts. I've stayed in the small studio/1 bedroom cabins. They are very cute. Small but enough space to enjoy your stay. We recently stayed in the 2 bedroom cabins. The bedrooms seemed outdated and everything seemed old. The floor in the corner dipped down when you walked on it and you dare not stand on it lest you fall through. But overall, everything was clean and fine.

Expensive, not much choice on where to stay in this small town. Internet comes and goes, mono lake near by, excellent 4 star restaurant down the road. Yosemite high country nearby, tons of hiking opportunities, especially if you do your homework before hand.

We stayed there on Friday and Saturday night before Labor Day. We got home today. We had room 45, third floor, a Queen suite. It's dated, but very nice, jacuzzi tub, queen bed which was noisy and a bit hard but still good (wish it was a king, they have the room) microwave and small fridge and a pull out couch that would sleep two and a table for two right outside the door. The property is beautiful! The staff are wonderful and the place is so peaceful. There is a counter order restaurant at the top of the property that is really good. You can eat inside or outside, which why wouldn't you, outside is so pretty and relaxing and as a hotel guest you get a discount! The guy at the register of the Epic Cafe restaurant is such a nice guy! Loved our stay in Lee Vining, it was a great jumping off site. Definitely recommend it! We'll be back!

Unfortunately, we only stayed at the Lale View Lodge for one night — but we would have loved to stay longer! Our cabin was very nice, clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly, personable and helpful. Places such as Bodie and Mono Lake are right around the corner. If you're looking for a great place to stay in Lee Vining, this is it! We can definitely recommend it.

Lovely helpful folks… this is a family motel, full of caring and everything you need. Not fancy, but clean, super comfy beds, great shower and terrific location!

Rooms are clean. AC is marginal. The view in lake view is non existent. $145 for 2 queen beds after AAA discounts. Free Wi-Fi is 0.46 mb download and 0.6 upload.

Having encountered some bad weather we stopped in Lee Pining not expecting to find anything exceptional. We were fortunately surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and the bed comfy. The snow and Christmas decorations outside were delightful and helped create a comfortable environment in an unfamiliar place. My only complaint has nothing to do with the lodge, but everything in the town closes at 8 (at least when we got there in December), so we has to make due with what we had on us for dinner. All I'm all a warm and peaceful retreat that helped turn our unfortunate circumstance into a lovely experience.

Choose this place if you can bear with their rude employees. It is nothing short of a nightmare for me. They just ruined my Thanksgiving weekend. Never again would I go there nor would I recommend them to any of my friends or contacts.

Was pretty good. Located in a small town pretty close to Yosemite so there wasn't very much driving. The small town feeling was very nice. The service was great, people were very nice. There weren't many food options so that wasn't too good.

Decent place, Wi-Fi is only in the central office building and not in the cabins. Great for families staying a few nights. Camping in Yosemite might be a better option however.

Great service, no problems at all with the booking and the Wi-Fi worked well. We also got help with directions to the only open restaurant when we arrived late and some guidelines for our trip to Yosemite when the mountain pass was closed. Do not believe the negative comments people have been posting, our experience was very good!

Called a few hours ahead to book a room and let them know we'd be arriving late. Only stayed for 8 hours but everything appeared to be nice enough. Close proximity to Mono Lake.

This is our second time back! It's comfortable, reasonably priced and isn't far from boarding in Mammoth. The places in town to hangout are friendly and inviting.

Pay a little more and get a cottage. Definitely worth it especially if you're traveling with 3 or more. Short drive to Mono Lake … beautiful!

I cannot understand the negativity. I had a decent experience staying in this hotel as this is only reasonable hotel in the area. I traveled with 2 kids and was travelling to lake Tahoe after visiting Tyoga pass. Best place to visit Mono Lake which is beautiful. The room was neat but cannot compare to star hotels. The TV was small but atleast they had one. They have a market just side of hotel.

Be careful, the people who run this place are dishonest! I tried to book a room there, but never got a confirmation email. I then tried to reach the hotel on the phone and even sent a fax (which was costly, as I don't live in the US), and didn't get any answer. I booked another hotel in Lee Vining, thinking this one was probably full or perhaps shut down. However, these people charged me money for the night they never confirmed I had booked. I called them immediatly after realising that, and the manager sent me a mock confirmation email and went as far as blaming me for not having tried hard enough to contact them (the thing is, they don't even have an email address written on their website). After long, tense negotiations, she consented to refunding only half the money for the night, saying it was usually not her policy, and not the policy I had agreed upon (how could I have agreed upon it if I didn't receive anything from them? ). I'm apparently not the first one to have had this kind of problem with this hotel. Don't make a reservation there, they'll try to rip you off!

Staff friendly, price OK for the location (Yosemite Park), clean room, everything works on the Internet: but you will be notified in advance and conspicuously at the reception (hangout).

These guys are the worst. A paranoid manager who is always unavailable or not there, no Wi-Fi and a refusal to issue a refund until 2 days of repeated visits to badger the staff. I left as soon as I found there was no Wi-Fi and they gave me a bunch of BS about my having already occupied the room. 5 minutes with a laptop. I found a decent room down the street at the Lee Vining Motel, Half the price and good solid Wi-Fi. If you don't mind disrespect and condescension, stay here. Otherwise, make another choice.

Can not recommend this place. I reserved a room on their website. They didn't even bother to respond. Tried again after 2 days of waiting and again no answer. I found another place in Lee Vining now.

Like the place. The staff at times can be busy and it might take a minute or two to get your order. On a sunny day the tables outdoors are precious real state and people are waiting to snatch them.

Horrible! and without compassion. I was caught in a storm with all passes closed at 4:30 am. The "best he could do" was give me the full high season rate. Over $100 for three hours of sleep in a room where the hot water didn't work (ran the sink for over twenty minutes and it was still I've cold). The only saving grace is I had coffee in my room. The office manager wasn't in the office either time, people were just leaving keys in a bowl on the desk because he couldn't apparently be bothered. If there are other avail vacancies in the area take them. Your service and price couldn't be worse.

There was some confusion about the dates we booked. Long story short, they had on record that we were reserving the day before we showed up as well so we were charged for a no call no show and our reservation for the night we actually needed was canceled. Not to mention they did not bother to call us when they believed we were supposed to be there the prior night. So we had to pay twice for one night in an awkwardly large room that had a locked door to a balcony covered in painting supplies. After speaking with the manager the next morning she said they would review their records and get back to me about potentially crediting our account back for the extra day that was charged. When I called to speak to them later that week the woman I spoke to said to give a couple days and that it should show that we were refunded. It has been a month, and we were never refunded. I have called multiple times for the manager who is apparently only there for a few hours in the morning, and left a message to have them return my call. I have never heard back.
