It’s our first time here and the room is a good size and quite, our breakfast was so much I couldn’t finish it, but really good.

This is a best hotel in Simi valley. We had our tournament teams stay here. The rooms were nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Grand vista hotel for great time!

It was a fine hotel. I wasn't thrilled with the cleanliness or the cleaning crew. They can the first morning during a meeting at 9am so we sent them away. The next day the didn't come until 5pm when we were getting ready to go out for the evening. We had been gone the entire morning and I to the afternoon.

Paper thin walls and few amenities (I asked for a toothbrush and was instructed I could buy one from the gift shop) made a poor first impression — especially when my wife, 2 year old, and I were looking for a good rest after 6 hours in the car. A well-furnished pool area and very friendly staff (as well as as changing rooms for the rest of our stay) helped redeem it somewhat. Photos and discount sites try to make it feel like you're getting a sweet deal on a more upscale, well-appointed hotel, but these are already budget accommodations all the way. I would not pay what we did to stay here again.

I went to Grand Vista to pick up a client. The front office was helpful. The place was clean. A coffee pot would have been nice touch. But I liked the temp parking spot which is long for many cars to do temp parking. Nice place. My client liked the place.

We got here very late in the night and the staff managed to clear us and get us in. We will definitely be staying here during all our visits to this place.

I love e this hotel! I stay here every time I visit Simi Valley, which is as often as possible. The staff is extremely friendly and always take care of us!

I did not notice any offensive odors in our the room, the carpet seemed clean and the furniture was in great condition. The bed was clean and comfortable and I'd rate it a notch towards the soft side. The room had all the basic amenities along with a mini fridge. The bathroom and shower was clean with no visible stains or mold. The only item I found lacking was the quality of the toiletries. Provided is only shampoo and soap, which I found not to be high or even medium quality. I suggest bringing your own shampoo, soap, conditioner and body lotion if you can. We found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and courteous at check-in and throughout our stay. The food and service at the restaurant was very good and is highly recommend. The hotel is easy to get to from the 118 and there is lots of parking. The manager at the front desk told me that they pretty much get bookup every weekend throughout the summer with weddings and local events, so if your are planning a stay, make sure you call way in advance to book your room!

Ok this is a nice place to stay. The rooms are clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The arena bar had a nice happy hour from 4 to 7.

The employees were wonderful and so helpful. There is also a restaurant in the hotel along with another one down the sidewalk called the arena. It was also a bar and the bartenders did so great and the drinks were so good. Although we didn't make it before the kitchen closed, all in all I was very pleased with this hotel. I will definitely be back next time I visit the area.

Cheap lodging if you need it in the area. If not there is no reason to stay here. Run down. Staff was rude. Jacuzzi was murky and unclean. Room was sub par with an annoying closing bathroom door that had to be propped open. Breakfast voucher system is ludicrous and worth 2.50 though they charge you 10 bucks for it. Not a fan and wouldn't recommend.

Nice spot super clean and quiet. Great shower! Beautiful pool. Nice atmosphere.

The price was right and location was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable. BUT we were on the second floor in the back and there is a third floor above this section. Anyone walking in the room above us sounded like elephants walking across the floor. The front desk just sort of shrugged when I mentioned it. The friends we were visiting said Oh, that's California construction!

We had an Executive Suite instead of a standard room and we enjoyed the spaciousness. We'll reserve that size again. Be aware that there are only 5 of them. The desk clerks are very helpful including Francisco. Housekeeping was not as good as in past years. My wife and I like this place.

One of the best hotels in Simi Valley. Clean and the staff is friendly. I would most definitely go back here. Although make sure you make a reservation because it can fill up quick. Also, the price is only a few dollars off from the other hotels in town.

Always wanted to stay here. Grew up in Simi Valley but now live out of state. Stayed with my husband and two kids. Very accommodating hotel.

Simple but nice rooms and friendly staff make this a nice place for families and business travelers alike. Some rooms do seem dated but not so much that it took away from the overall look and feel. Cost is fairly good and staff was helpful with any questions I had. I would stay here again without a second thought.

Arrived to our room at 10pm tired after traveling with my one and two year old and it immediately smelled like cigarette smoke very bad coming from our bath room. I called the front desk and explained I had babies and asked if there was anything they could do for us. There was no fan in the bathroom and the windows in our room don’t open so there wasn’t anything I could do to ventilate our room. They sent house keeping who sprayed some air freshener (which obviously just made things more gross) I was expecting for them to move our room but they did not. The smell continued our entire two day stay. Either the vents were leading the smoke from another room or housekeeping was smoking in our bathroom when they came in to clean. I wouldn’t bathe my babies in there it was so strong. We also found false eyelashes in our hotel binder which was lovely. I will not stay again and will tell my family who lives in Simi to not have people stay in this hotel.

The people at the Grand Vista were lovely and attentive. The room was comfortable, it a bit dated. I would definitely return.

Great staff, delicious food, good prices, clean rooms, big venue, talented artists. Location is easy to access, almost directly off the 118. Rooms are spacious and have lots of amenities and are well taken care of. There's also a pool if you are a guest at the hotel. Live music every night next door at The Arena. Friendly bartenders and security, and 4 pool tables and 3 dart boards.

For me I will have to give this place four and a half Stars. Public areas neat and clean. Looks new. The room new paint new carpet, lg flat screen TV new. The bed a king was clean and comfortable. Two small things could use a fix. The restroom sink faucet, cold side needs a repair. The coffee pot needs a take apart inside wash. Over all one of the best places I have ever staid in.

A nice hotel, awesome breakfast, little pricey but doable. Also there was a cup full with pee covered with a mug on the counter in the bathroom when we arrived… I assume that's not a hotel custom… It was gross. I guess the staff missed it.

OMG What Did You FInd On The Shower Wall? My wife found some matter of some kind on the shower wall and other areas looked like blood you decide see the attached image. We checked in early at about 11:30 a. M. Which was nice. And visited some friends.

The staff is friendly and the room was clean and quiet. The hotel is dated and worn and the choices at the express breakfast were fairly limited. I'll probably stay somewhere else if I to return to the area.

This hotel is in a handy location near the freeway without traffic noise. The rooms are clean and all facilities in good working order. There was an incident of an elevator not working for a time. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Always love staying here. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean and always smell fresh. The staff. Are always friendly. From housekeeping, maintenance, front desk. All that we come in contact with are always with smiles.

More motel than hotel. Really uncomfortable bed (too soft and springy). No bathroom vent fan. Overdue for a renovation. It's good enough if you're just going for an event and need an affordable and clean place to stay, but temper expectations and expect a good motel experience.

It works. Seems like a place that they want it to be better than it is. It's older. My guess is they bought an old Marriott and turned it in to grand Vista. It has that older smell to it in the hallways. With that said I've stayed in much worse hotels.

So the price was 218.00 bucks two rooms one night.
Get checked in and the room smelled our front door looked like they tried to fix some paint that was peeling the bathroom fan did not work and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Went to take a bath and the tub stopper was broken. When I brought these up to the management he just wrote it down did even offer an apology which I would of taken and been fine with. Won't stay there again.

Maybe I was expecting too much. The price was right, it wasn't horrible, but… There was a Ritz cracker in plain sight in front of the dresser. The beds were… well used. Toothpaste spatters all along the little ledge under the mirror. The worst coffee (the one provided in the room). The bathroom door squeaked at full volume. The bathtub stopper didn't work. Housekeeping didn't show up until late afternoon when we were already back in our room and had no plans to go out again. We asked for fresh towels and sent her away. Very low water pressure in the sink faucet. The tub didn't drain quickly (I hate standing in soapy dirty water). The tub faucet dripped. They don't have water conserving toilets (which really surprised me). All in all I was expecting much more from a hotel with "Grand" in the title.

The service and amenities were good. The building itself is older and there were some minor electrical issues when we checked in that were quickly resolved. Overall, a reasonably priced, convenient, and nice place to stay.

There was a smell in the lobby on the third floor and the hot water took forever to warm up and hardly any water pressure in the shower. Otherwise the bed was comfortable and it was clean and nice Area. You can tell it's a little better then motel.

This place was so bad that I left after only 6 nights into my 13-night business trip. My room was filthy. I checked in on 5/15/16 and found, "YUCK — 5/8/16" written in the dust on top of the TV stand. I found a hair folded into my towels and quite a few hairs on the bathroom floor that were 100% not mine. The mattress was a King but the bed frame was a California King, leaving a weird void between the foot board and mattress. The furniture had been vandalized and somebody carved "HATE" into the dresser. The carpet was gross. The tub drain was broke. The fridge control was broken. The overall condition was dilapidated. They had the Excuse-Our-Mess construction signs but I never saw anybody actually working to update the hotel. I was awoken 3 nights in a row by drunk people in the hall. Hotel staff did not do anything and I had to ask the people to be quiet. When I'd had enough, I wen to check out and rather than asking why I was leaving early, the manager just tried to charge a cancellation fee and he wanted to charge me for that night since it was past check-out time. I guess they aren't interested in return business.

This is a great hotel Grand Vista Simi Valley Ca at which to hold an event. The staff are friendly and Manager Sandy and Adi, So Cute Hazel Tumbs Up The Front Desk very helpful Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The view from the room was also very beautiful being on the second floor! The location is prime being walking distance to everything downtown but far enough to be quite and secluded. The gym is still a hotel gym but definitely one of the best I've seen in a hotel. Would recommend the Grand Vista Simi Valley Ca! Everyone with whom I interacted contributed to making the event even better than it would have been.

Generally quite dingy. Carpet is probably 20 years old. Beds are small, furniture is motel grade, and weathered. Laundry room has old style machines with no locking doors during cycle. Staff is nice. At $60-75 it would be a good place, but it costs twice as much.

Nice lobby and courteous front desk staff. The room was clean with basic amenities and two double beds. Queen size beds would have been much more comfortable. Will not stay there again during future visits to the area.

Horrible service. Front desk front desk manager very rude and extremely and confrontational. Accuses my father of yelling at his staff over the phone. I call my dad via my cell phone and ask if he would do such a thing. Of course he says "what are you talking about? " I then ask the front desk manager exactly what happened that made you accuse my father of doing such a thing. He then says I got a phone call from a lady on behalf of my father. He just couldn't keep his story straight. I'm done with this hotel. I thought Grand Vista Hotel were going to be my permanent sanctuary away from the Gas Leak but I obviously need to find another place. They also couldn't grasp that my name were on both confirmations for the 2 rooms. Such a headache! Worst experience ever at a hotel.

Asked for a early check in fee for wanted to check in a couple hours early. Had to go wait at starbucks. The heating system was terrible. Even though I was on the top floor I heard constant thumping even at night. Bed was itchy. Very old carpet. Lousy shower. Very rude staff. You do not want to stay here. You will get less then what you pay for.

The front desk staff was okay but less than helpful. My one request was a room service menu which I had to fetch myself from the bar. When room service arrived, the food was all burnt (chicken strips/fries) and did not include the catchup and ranch promised on the menu or the BBQ sauce I requested. When I woke up to shower, I was disappointed when I noticed the missing plastic shower curtain. The shower only had the decorative cloth curtain, so I spent my shower time trying to wash without flooding the bathroom floor. Oh, and the toilet was clogged when I got to the room. I didn't expect a palace, but this experience was well under my reasonable small town hotel expectations.

The rooms were spacious. Definitely a deal for the price. It was right off the freeway. The staff were friendly and professional.

We frequent this hotel fairly regularly. I love the pool and jacuzzi. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. Their Wi-Fi has improved.

The hotel was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the room accommodated to your needs. We we're on the fourth floor and one of the floor managers was very friendly. Told us about an elevator that was right next to our room. The elevator lead to a side entrance with parking, which was very nice. The room came with a refrigerator, microwave, and a coffee pot. The fridge worked great, microwave was absolutely horrible. After 4 minutes my food was still cold. The coffee pot didn't have coffee, but you could call and have them bring it up, they took a long time to bring up the coffee. But there was complementary coffee downstairs in the morning. The bathroom was simple. The shower had bad pressure but great on staying hot. There was howerver a cricket in the bathtub.

The free breakfast is… Disgusting. The first day we were told that it was available until 11am. We came at 9:30 and were told the free breakfast finishes at 9… But we can order until 11. The second day I regretted I ate there. When me and my girlfriend checked out, we forgot some stuff in the fridge (chocolate gifts), so I called the same morning and asked them to put a note not to throw it away. The girl on the phone was nice she said OK no problem. I said I should pick it up the same morning. I came later that night because I couldn't make it earlier, and it was another girl at the desk. Of course she wasn't aware about anything and she said it was probably thrown away. I told her it's too bad, because that's the reason I called to make sure they put it aside… Anyways friends, they basically have bad service and I was disappointed. Please go somewhere else for the money. They used to be good, not anymore.

We booked through priceline. It looked okay online but as another person noted, the rooms smell. I dunno if it smells like feet or like grandma's house. The carpeting felt damp. Leave your shoes on. There were long black hairs all over the bathroom. The furniture is all out dated. The pool is pretty small and was pretty dirty. While in the pool some smoking leathery trashy lady started a fight with us for no reason. (I suppose shes a miserable drunk). Another guest told us she LIVES here and does this to many guests. She loves bullying. I talked to the general manager about it and he said he would banish her from the pool, but also denied any responsibility for her actions (even though its apparently an ongoing issue). We won't be coming back. Only positive note was john at the front desk was very nice.

Room smelled like old feet. Once we got over that everything else was fine.

Tonight, at 10:30 my daughter with her 4 year old daughter and 9 month old daughter attempted to check in. While standing at an empty reservation desk for several minutes, she noticed a security guard walk by, who did not acknowledge her. A few minutes later a man walked past her and sat down at a computer and started typing without acknowledging her. The security guard returned and started a conversation with the man when my daughter cut in asking if there was anyone available to check her in. The man at the computer stated he wasn't aware of the the fact she was waiting to be check in. My daughter asked if it was common practice for people to just stand around the desk and stated, "Yes it was" My daughter informed him of how rude and unprofessional she found his behavior to be. He informed her that he had more pressing things to take care of than to be concerned about her and her reservations. Finally another person came out and stated they would check my daughter in. My daughter stated that she wanted an apology from this person for his rudeness and to be acknowledged by him. He instructed the security guard to escort her and her two small children out of the hotel. Now, at 1100 at night my daughter is attempting to find a hotel room. This hotel is independently owned and apparently the owner does not believe in customer service.

My friend and I stayed here in July 2013. Bad experience for numerous reasons, so I'll just list them off: 1) The front desk clerk initially refused to honour the Groupon we were using to stay there, saying that what we paid for the Groupon was what we were saving on the room (in other words, he still wanted to charge us full price). I had no luck with this moron, so had to finally get it cleared up with another more competent clerk. 2) The windows in the rooms do not open! Even for the rooms facing the inner courtyard, so it's not a security feature. Combine that with their being no fan in the bathroom, and after using the bathroom and taking a shower, it can get pretty stanky and steamy in the room. 3) The patio area around the pool had not been cleaned or hosed down in God-knows how long. We were having to hop over rank little puddles where all kinds of bacteria were probably having sex. 4) The whole hotel smelled like FEET. Unwashed, sour, my-dogs-are-barking FEET. 5) Most hotels now-a-days have complimentary continental breakfast. Not the Grand Vista. Instead, you get a coupon for a few dollars off a specific menu item that can only be used for the following day and that's it. 6) The Wi-Fi is spotty at best. It works in some areas of the hotel, but not others, so some rooms are totally blacked out. When I asked a desk clerk about this, he gave me a vague explanation that they were having some problems with it and they were looking into fixing it.

I was a guest and I was disappointed to see the housekeeping staff so over worked and treated so poorly. The manager was yelling at her staff. The staff didn't have time to finish their assigned work in the allotted time frame. It felt like a sweatshop.

We have stayed here previously. It was older but clean. Not anymore! I was dismayed they still use bedspreads, yuck! I removed ours to find a dirty blanket with burn holes in it. The sofa was old and dingy. My daughter and her husband had hairs in their (supposedly clean) bed! We immediately checked out. The staff was nice, but offered to let us see another room. We figured 2 strikes and they were out. They advertised "recently updated", but it hadn't changed in the 4 yrs since our previous stay. It's too bad because the location is great.

Pretty basic rooms with the large windows being the only nice part about them. Their Wifi is an absolute joke, as the connection is horrible and unreliable. I am currently staying here (last night) and it's taken me over 10 minutes just to write this review. I recommend a larger chain for the same price.
