We were here for one night for a party. The worst hotel experience we have ever had. Front desk had a huge attitude as soon as they saw we had a Hot Wire reservation. They wouldn't let us check in even though was prepaid because my credit card wouldn't accept a charge for $70 for their incidentals. We called the credit card customer service they suggested running by hand pushing in the number, because we have had issues with the chip on my card, they wouldn't "it's not their policy'. They wouldn't accept cash, for the $70, "it's not their policy'. They wouldn't take my wife or my daughter's card because it wasn't the same name as on the reservation, "it's not their policy'. They wouldn't let us see a manager because he wasn't there. They finally told us to leave that "we shouldn't have booked through Hot Wire. " They told us we had 10 min to leave the property or they were going to call the police. We told them please go ahead. They never did just kept threatening us. So finally my daughter who is an attorney called the Long Beach Police. When the police showed up the manager who wasn't there, suddenly came out of the back. He had been walking around the lobby the whole time this was going on we just thought he was a customer. What a coward! The police informed him that they had to accept our prepaid reservation and they couldn't ask us to leave the property. So they then took cash for their $70 deposit. Which we asked them to do an hour earlier. When we checked out the next morning they had security detain us for 30 min so they could search our bags to make sure we weren't stealing anything and check our room to make sure we didn't vandalize it. Only then did give us back our $70 deposit. I'm a 60 year old teacher and coach and my wife is 63 and retired. We don't normally trash hotel rooms. 1st time I ever had to call the police to check into a hotel. Classy place!
