It was absolutely disgusting. When we first got there I opened up the sofa bed for my son to lay down. What I found was a little disturbing but I decided to give the place a shot despite the filth. There was ash, dirt, and to be honest it could’ve been much worse, that’s just what it looked like to me. I go to take a shower and the window wouldn’t close, so I got to do that in the cold. I later found that to be the least of our problems. The lights constantly flickered. Again, not too bad, not bad enough to leave a nasty review. At 7 am we were woke up to insects crawling across our pillow. Yes, bed bugs. Needless to say, our 3 night endeavor turned to one. We went to the lobby to get our money back for the night because it was just not worth paying a single dime. Well, that’s not what happened. We were charged $316 for all three nights. $157 for a charge I have no idea where it came from, and $78 for the night we did stay. The room, $72 a night. We tried to get ahold of the GM and he has yet to contact us. They are filthy, and thieves.

Nice 2 room Jacuzzi suite. Nice location with lots of food places to choose from. Parking is a bit limited. Grounds are maintained nicely.

Checked in today spacious rooms clean quite.

Super friendly staff giant rooms, I will say having a sink in the main bedroom next to the TV was a first for me but overall a great place to stay that's not super expensive.

The room was spacious and had a nice, modern look. The staff was friendly and had us checked in in no time. I enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast, as they actually had scrambled eggs, sausage, turkey bacon, cereal, pastries, a make-your-own waffle station, etc. The water pressure in the room was great. The room had a slightly odd setup, as the sink was in the bedroom instead of the bathroom, so I was washing my hands and brushing my teeth in front of the bed by the TV. My only complaints are that the beds weren't terribly comfortable (both my wife and I tossed and turned all night), and there was a pink stain on the fitted sheet. Overall, the stay was pretty good.

We loved this room as it was a suite and so much room for us and our 17yr old granddaughter. Really liked the separate TV room, sofa, refrigerator, microwave with a sliding door so we would not wake the 17yr old up. The area was perfect with many restaurants, gas stations, shopping and one of our favorite places, Laguna beach, so close by. The breakfast was nice with some healthy selections. The reception area was very nice as well, fireplace, couches, newspapers, water, coffee etc. The pool area was very nice as well. I definitely would come back again.

The hotel location was not great. Looks like an industrial area. The hotel itself does not look good from the outside. Inside it is slightly better but not good. The rooms were not very clean and were smelly. The sofa beds were terrible for the kids. They could feel the springs. The balcones face the parking lot. In one of the rooms we took half the electrical outlets and light switches didn't work. I would have given a lower rating but the breakfast was good and there were always staff members making sure to refill everything.

Great hotel. Reason for 4 instead of 5 star is because the parking is awful, almost couldn't even find the entrance. It's set up oddly and the major construction all around was an eyesore and inconvenient. But the complimentary breakfast was great. Hot bacon and sausage, eggs scrambled, waffle station, lots of juice options. Great rooms, big and well maintained and updated.

The best best western. I was surprised the first time I stayed with them. They have the best breakfast and the parking and the best staff service. I stayed the second time and left for work at 6:00 a. M. And regretfully had to miss their best breakfast. Around 1:30 p. M. I remembered I left my most precious diamond earrings on the night end table so I called the hotel in frantic and believed the worst. By God! They told me to come and pick them up! I’ve left many not as precious as my earring at many hotels and I was always told they could not find or did not find my left behind items. I’m forever grateful to the staff working at this Best Western. Everything about this hotel is a BLESSING!

This is a great property. We were very pleased with our room. It was large and comfortable. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was very good. You can watch them as they cook bacon, sausage, eggs and potatoes for you. Convenient location. Close to restaurants, stores, etc.

The entire staff was a pleasure from the desk clerks, maids, kitchen, janitors and maintenance employees were terrific. On top of that, the room was spotless, fresh, crisp and clean. I can't think of a single thing that I could ask to be better. The value — unbeatable!

I love this Best Western in particular. It's a little off the beaten path. But not too far off. Every room is a 2 room suite. Tge staff is nice and friendly. The breakfast cooked to order and I always love fresh waffles. My favorite home away from home.

I love best western hotels! I will not stay at any other hotel chain. I have always had a pleasant experience no matter which best western I stay at. This location is no different, we had an excellent stay and would recommend others to stay. Free breakfast is full of great selections and fresh food. Friendly staff always ready to help you stay be more enjoyable. See for yourself, stay at any best western and I assure you won't be disappointed.

I travel often to Irvine because of work and this is the best value from the hotels I've been in. The rooms are big, nice and clean. There's daily room service unlike other hotels. On the down side there's a construction site right by the hotel so you may get some noise around 8am. I had no problem since I was leaving by that time but beware.

Very nice suite at a very nice price. I didn't interact much with the staff but when I did they were friendly and helpful. Room was more than ample to meet our needs: clean, spacious, well decorated and quiet. Close to the freeway which was convenient. Close to the Spectrum shopping mall so we drove over there and saw a movie. Nothing fancy about this place but it was perfect for what we needed.

We go to Concordia University annually for tournaments. This year we tried the Irvine Spectrum hotel and was disappointed to see that there was construction nearby (previous hotels we stayed at were under renovation last year and we did not like all the debris and construction going on so we "moved" and chose the Spectrum location). The discounted room rate I got for booking 5 months in advance did not at all make up for the amenities I had hoped would be much better. We reported the warm freezer twice before it got fixed. The suite itself was smaller and the balcony they mention is no more than a small space behind the bathroom wall. This hotel also served soggy eggs for breakfast. Worse of all, the parking spaces were so narrow.

My daughter booked a room for me and her dad. She paid in for the room online. After driving forty five minutes in LA traffic we arrived at the hotel. Upon arriving at the front desk I gave Victor my ID and credit card and asked him to leave the room on the credit card that the room was booked with. I had called in advance and asked would that be a problem and I was told no. Victor went into the back to ask his manager Rene what could be done. We were told that they would need to put the charges on my card and maybe get the money back from my daughter. We would have done that in the first place if we had not called and was told that it would not be a problem. Ironically I am a reward member with Best Western and normally love their service. So we left and went to Holiday Inn across the street. I feel that they could have resolved this situation better for a loyal customer. In addition the phone reps should be trained better and if not sure ask, therefore their customers won't be inconvenienced as we were. Secondly corporate and franchises should have the same policies.

The staff was the friendliest I've ever met! Even compared to Hilton and Marriott! Breakfast was hot and fresh! Rooms are top notch! Definitely staying here again if I come back!

The rooms are amazing for families! We love the option to have the kids in the sofa room with the pull out bed. The continental breakfast is much nicer than that of other hotels we have stayed at as well. Very comfortable & affordable!

Nice hotel and staff, close to our venue. Staff was accomodating and rooms were nice. Pull out couch was a nice extra feature. Will stay there again for the next tournament in the area.

We needed a room for one night before flying out early the next day. We had my year old granddaughter and lots of luggage which required a cart. Carts were available, but no one offered to help manage the load, although there were 3 men at the reservation desk. The room was adequate, but the walls are thin and we heard voices and snoring from the next room. The beds were comfortable. We had to leave early and the breakfast room wasn't open when I went down at 6:10 to try and get a cup of coffee. I saw they were open as we pulled out of the parking lot. It looked to be an adequate breakfast. All in all I would stay here again if we needed a room for one night.

Rooms are amazing! Very nice and big, had a separate living area with chairs and pull out couch and seperate TV from the bedroom… Staff was ok, not great but not as bad as I have experienced from other places… Overall a great place we will stay at again.

Overall the hotel was fine. They updated the rooms. The carpet in the room did need to be cleaned (questionable stains). The breakfast area was small for the amount of people. The parking lot has very narrow spots so it might be difficult for bigger vehicles. The staff was friendly. The lobby was welcoming.

Unrecommended hotel. The hotel is outdated, the rooms are outdated, the bathroom was cold, totally outdated and decidedly uncomfortable. The breakfast room is uncomfortable, dirty and the served food is third-rate. The choice is extremely small and the coffee unpalatable. This hotel is not worth its money and I would rank it with just one *. I will not book this hotel a second time.

Though freshly remodeled, the original windows and sliding doors have very poor weather sealing, which means LOTS of noise from the highway (and next-door construction site) leaks into the rooms. Guest services were polite and helpful, but there was nothing they could do about the jackhammers that start up at 8am sharp. Hot breakfast was well-cooked, but wholly unchanging for the week of our stay.

The Best Western Plus Irvine Spectrum gives us an amazing experience for the price. 24 hour fitness center is wonderful and the breakfast room features a friendly chef serving us a hot breakfast. Close to the airport too. We would never stay anywhere else when we visit our grandchildren.

What an awesome place. Beautiful quiet room. Great deal! Perhaps the most comfortable bed I have slept on in recent years (and countless hotel beds). Clean, quiet, comfortable! Would not hesitate to stay here again!

It's a great hotel if you're not here on business. They did very well with the friendly staff and cleaning my room. Great breakfast and all. However I came here for a business related reason and the Wi-Fi in there establishment was terrible. It cut out almost 95% of the time. The other people in my group for the business stay had problems as well. This is how I know it wasn't a technical problem with my laptop. Other then that it was great service.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Good price. The Best Westerns have remodeled their hotels and are making an effort to win over customers. It worked on us. We have enjoyed the upgrades they have made and appreciate their great customer service.

The outside of this hotel looks nice but the inside is set up like a motel and looks like a prison with its bland cement walls. I was very disappointed with a few different issues. The first issues was that I had to wait 10 minutes to be able to get into the elevator on numerous occasions throughout my stay. It seems that the service personnel use this elevator to move their carts, etc throughout the day and as a result leave no other elevator for the guests to use. Unfortunately I was on the 3rd floor. Big mistake. Also, the individuals at the front desk seemed to care less about customer service as they spent most of their time in the back room and had to be summoned to receive any service. When the issue about the length of time was brought to their attention they told me to go outside of the hotel and use the stairs with a rude tone. Although the breakfast area was large, the selection was small. I stay at Best Western on average about 2 times a month and this was one of the poorest food selections. Overall, not a good experience at this hotel which is unfortunate.

Kind welcoming clean and comfortable very conveniently close to the ocean. Recommend and will come again. Left behind a few garments in the closet because we had to leave short notice and they were very quick to look for the missing items. I must add that they are dog friendly and charge what seems to be the most reasonable charge these days… We have a mature short hair black lab mix and she does her business outside and takes her naps inside. You hardly know she's there and some places charge up to $150 + night which is absurd in my eyes. I would probably tell my husband we were beach camping before I paid that.

This is the third time I've stayed at the Best Western Plus Irvine Spectrum Hotel while visiting family in the area. Every visit has been great and the staff have always been really helpful. During this last visit, I had to switch rooms because the noise from people exciting the elevator activated my did into guard mode. The front desk staff was really helpful and let me quickly switch into another room. There rooms are a little older but they are well taken care of and always clean. The hotel does serve a decent breakfast (eggs, turkey bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, waffles, yogurt, assortment of fruit, cereal).

I checked into this hotel yesterday afternoon and was surprised that the Manager Jose chose me to get a my room upgrade to a 2 bedroom with loft room! It was beautiful and made my stay so much better. Thank you Jose, I will be back again, I love this hotel. Breakfast was awesome, all of your personnel were friendly and helpful too!

Terrible staff. They were given many chances to redeem themselves and only got worse. Will be complaining to corporate and never staying at this location again.

Very nice room and the staff was great. There was an error with my arrival date and the manager was able to resolve it without issue.

It looks amazing! … My sis came here and the room looks incredible… Her husband FERNANDO is doing an amazing job as maintenance there.

This is truly a wonderful hotel. Our room was great. Very nice size and clean. We stayed 2 nights and serviced after our 1st night and was great coming back to a clean room again. The breakfast was very nice. It was hot and fresh. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns. Make your own waffles and had many others items. The staff when we arrived were very nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

The workers are all very nice and the continental breakfast is excellent though the beds are quite uncomfortable. Though I must say the room was really clean which is the most important thing for a hotel in my opinion.

The rooms are very nice, neat, and roomy, price was also quite nice as well as customer service, very nice and helpful. The area I was vacationing in is very pretty, lots of green and plenty to do. It was so peaceful and quiet.

Looks kinda run down from the outside, but the rooms are top notch! Really pleasantly suprised! Will stay here again if I'm ever working in this area again.

I'm writing this review from my room and while its a nice hotel, it would be even nicer if they had water! Yes, water! I was told (at 11:56) that water was going to be shut off at noon through 2:00. I put my business aside (I'm here on business) until shortly after 2:00 and when I went to shower… no water. I've just now been told that they don't know WHEN the hotel will have water! They graciously offered me a discount but a discount will not get me clean and ready for work.

Good option for the price — above the average breakfast.

Couch and chair were dirty and marked up with permanent marker. No blanket on the beds, just thin coverlets. Spa was really dirty on the bottom with lots of leaves, feathers and dirt floating on the surface. Breakfast bar, while we didn't eat there, looked to be quite sufficient. Room was nicely updated but a few drawers were broken and didn't work right as well as the cabinetry not finished off under the sink. Everytime the person above us flushed their toilet, we thought water was running down our wall. It was that loud. Overall, not a bad stay, but not our favorite either.

Was nice and clean. We had a smoking room was not bad. I don't smoke. Price was reasonable. Breakfast was very good. Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Whole family was with me for stay. Everyone was happy and no complaints. Not bad.

Stayed here a week, the area is close to a lot of shopping as well. Room was nice besides the fact I had a balcony that wouldn't open. Checking in, the girl who helped me was rude, and even the next day when I called to notify them of a hole in my wall I had noticed, she had an attitude as well.

After a recent two week stay, I'd say that this hotel deserves a solid 3.5 stars. My overall stay was very pleasant. I checked in late in the evening and was up in my room in short order. The room did have a somewhat musty smell, but opening up the windows or turning on the AC solved that issue for me. My first impression of the room was that it was very spacious and clean. The bathroom is a nice size and again, very clean. The updated decor is simple, but works to give it a slightly more upscale look. I appreciated that there were plenty of outlets around to plug gadgets into and even two flat screen TVs. I also appreciated that there was plenty of space to spread out and lay your stuff out. During my stay, I did notice that, because of the design of the courtyard, noises from the pool area were very loud whereas you can barely hear the sound from the 5 which it is near. However, there were relatively few guests here and the ones that were here were generally quiet. If you need to sleep in absolute silence, this place may not be for you because of the courtyard has a way of amplifying sound. Aside from that, I think that there are only a few other negative points to consider. First, the parking spaces are quite tight. It can be a challenge parking larger vehicles. Second, the elevators are really, really awfully programmed and you'll need to share them with the cleaning staff. Third — — and perhaps the most important — — is that the bed is as stiff as a board.

Extremely rude customer service. They do not care about the guest. You would get better service sleeping under a freeway. Motel 6 style room set up for 120+ dollars a night. There are dozens of better choices in the Irvine area.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I was a little skeptical since I let my boyfriend make the reservations and had no clue what to expect. At first glance when we drove up there was a big paper sign covering a Best Weasten Sign and a lot on constructio type stuff. So I was worried, check in was fast and easy and the front desk man told us they had just aquited the property and were new to So. Cal he even told us about another Hotel they had in an area we would be visiting next month. We got into our room and everything was super clean and new. The bed and pillows were soo comfortable, I have a bad back and slept perfectly. The next morning we went down for our hot breakfast and I expected it to be soggy eggs dried breakfast meat and a make your own waffle station like most hotels. This place had a cook taking your order and made fresh eggs anyway you want and fresh hashbrowns aling with ham and sausage! Truly a Place worth staying and will definatly be returning! A+++++.

I usually don't write reviews but this place had a bunch of bad ones. It has been newly bought by best western and is actually really nice! Everything is freshly renovated and really modern. New sinks, TVs, the works. Free breakfast which is better than most free breakfasts. I'd recommend staying here for a concert or even a couple days.

Do not make a mistake and book here. I booked a room for a guest. I had to move him the first night. The building is very very old, elevators are dirty and old. Room is ok, but the walkways had no floors! On top of that, the hotel charged me for 7 nights and so far 4 days later has not fully refunded me. Just call the hotel and see how the phone is answered! They use the name Irvine, but the location is in Lake Forest in the middle of nowhere.
