Beautiful! Would love to come back and sit in the chairs and just watch the rapids. So relaxing. Might stay a weekend in the cottages.

Stunning view of the Trinity River from Cottage 25. The sights & sounds of birds and the river will quickly melt the stress away. I had the cottage to myself for a whole day while my husband fished. I enjoyed basking in the sun on the deck facing the crystal clear green river water. I read, journaled and looked at the bluebirds, doves and geese with my binoculars. Thank you Julia for having the nice maintenance man move to another area to weedwack so I could completely enjoy peace.

Beautiful, peaceful location, delicious organic foods and drinks, and wonderful art from local artists make this a very special place to visit.

My friend’s wedding was AMAZING! The food was DELICIOUS! The yert was so cool and the little cabins were perfect.

I always enjoy talking with the owners and their staff.

The wood fired Pizza was fantastic, we tried the Loose Pig in a garden and the tri-tip, both were fantastic. Great little cottages to stay in, great atmosphere!

I ordered some coffee beans online for my husband, they were delivered very quickly and had a lovely little note written on the invoice. It was so nice to see something personal, obviously hand written. I will definitely order from them again, it is my husbands favorite coffee.

I simply dont go past this lovely business without stopping and giving them my patronage. It's so much more than a restaurant! Wonderful food and drink. Lovely cool outdoor seating with spectaular views. Unbelievable landscaping on a perfect stretch of the Wild And Scenic Trinity River. Lodging in adorable tiny homes. Wedding venue. Fresh ground organic coffee. Warm, hard working, visionary owner couple providing amazing products with positive, helpful, local employees. One of a kind! Do not drive past!

We stayed here for two nights and it was total bliss. The cottage was beautiful and the restaurant served delicious food. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation this is your place! On a side note… serious family bonding happens here. Wonderful!

My favorite place to stop on the way to the coast excellent coffee few good baked goods lunch is kind of pricey but it is a very nice place. Update! Can't ever had this place up! Was there recently and loved every second. Good dad and drinks as usual. Will look into getting a room next time and really enjoy the fabulous environment!

The Strawhouse is just the perfect stop. The entire family enjoyed the fantastic food they serve and the coffee is the best! It's nestled in a beautiful valley with a small river in the back. They have indoor and outdoor seating so take your pick. Very pleasant grounds and setting for events as well from what I could tell. The folks that run the place are super pleasent and made our lunch a fantastic experience. I would recommend stopping in to take a look even if you are not ready for food, you can always use coffee.

Stopped on our way home from Eureka. Great little place and a nice feel to it however it took 45 minutes and we still did not recieve our food so we ask for a refund. I was excited to try it but my experience was a little ruined.

After finding a campsite around 2 or 3am, it was a delight to find this place right nearby, ready to serve us quite possibly the best coffee we've tasted in the USA. Roasted on site and roasted to give it a full breadth of flavour (ie doesn't taste like wet burnt toast). Thought we'd just get coffee and go, but were tempted by some tasty bagel breakfast with the birds at the feeders by the river. Gorgeous place and super-friendly, enthusiastic hosts. Liked it so much we made a point of having breakfast there again on the way back.

This place is magical! We had our wedding ceremony there. They went above and beyond to make our wedding special! We celebrated our wedding anniversary there each year, and stop by anytime we are heading to the coast. Their fire roasted pizza sitting on the deck overlooking the river is the bomb.

Me and my family stopped to enjoy some good coffee and hot chocolate hoping for a nice relaxing experience. My son ended up accidentally spilling his hot chocolate on the patio, I went inside to notify the woman working, Julia who is apparently the owner, and she seemed extremely upset and irritated that my son had spilled his drink on the cement patio. She rushed passed me bumping me against the wall, she than ran over and grabbed the hose and began to spray water on the spill while spraying us with the hose in attempts to wash the patio. The hot chocolate seemed to be more important then my wife and two kids. After she sprayed down the spill we immediately got the impression we needed to leave, and we did. Me and my family have never been treated with such poor customer service.

Stayed over night in one of the cabins with my fiancé, worst night of my life. The cabin was right next to the highway, we were bombarded with the noise of cars and drunk locals. I complained to the owner and expected a full refund, however he deemed that our bad experience wasn't a legitimate reason for a refund and explained he couldn't be at fault for the drunk local tweakers. Never again.

Horrible service, lady was very nasty, food wasn't even good and you get the vibe that they think there better then everyone. I would not recomend stopping at this place or giving them any business at all.

A beautiful hidden gem. Can definitely feel the pride and love that went into building this resort. The owners were super helpful and welcoming. We stumbled upon this place on accident but would stay here for a vacation anytime.

We stayed at the Yurt that is managed by the Strawhouse Resort. The folks are great and very hospitable. The river runs by the cafe and is a beautiful spot to relax. The cafe has a cute gifts corner and great food as well as coffee. It also has Wi-Fi. This place is great for a quick bit in route. The yurt is right across the street from the cafe and I would highly recommend taking a trip down there. The cafe closes at 6:00 PM so you need to check in to the resort before that. Theybdo have wood oven pizzas on Friday and a great outdoor seating and party space.

We love stopping here to get something to eat and drink. It is the best part of driving across 299.

Once again, best Mocha around for the drive over to the coast. We love stopping here to get a cup of coffee and baked treat every time we drive from Utah to Eureka!

Best place to stay on the Trinity River. Fantastic accommodations, great organic gourmet food, fresh roasted coffee. Every visit is better than the one before.

We booked the yurt for one night. The interior was well done with a rather interesting layout. It felt more like a quirky hotel room than an outdoor experience. The staff was very friendly.

This truly is heaven on earth and is operated by the most dedicated and hard working couple. It's a must stop everytime we drive over that way. Thank you Don And Julia for providing such a welcoming, peaceful gem to enjoy.

I stop by the Strawhouse almost every time I travel between Redding and the coast. It just makes the trip super enjoyable. The food and beverages are consistently great and the atmosphere from the patio overlooking the Trinity River makes the experience even more inviting. I highly recommend the Spicy Tri-tip Sandwich on ciabatta bread. It is always so fresh and the small side salad is just so complementary. It is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! Their pizza on Friday's is also top notch!

Took a road trip today and met some friends at Strawhouse. Had a green salad with tri-tip, balsamic vinegar and oil. It was crisp and delicious. The coffee here is always good. We ate outside and the scenery was so peaceful. Everyone was friendly. Love the fact that they are working on being environmentally friendly. I'll be back!

Love the food and location, best roast coffee in norcal.

Unfortunately we were only traveling through the area on our first visit to the Strawhouse but from the short time we spent there, we were totally captivated by our experience. Our breakfast was memorable and the coffee delicious. The location and view from the outdoor dining area was spectacular. Don is a great host and provided us with a tour of the property and lodging accommodations. We did get a chance to meet his wife Julia briefly and definitely are looking forward to returning in the near future for a longer stay. We really felt like we had an encounter with an old friend and pray for the continued success of this extroidanary venue.

Coffee was perfect, food was perfect and most of all the view! A little slice of heaven.

The tri-tip wrap was incredible. Very tender meat with a flavorful spicy sauce, it made me regret having lived in Trinity County for three years before visiting the Strawhouse. The back patio with the sound and view of the river was very soothing and made the perfect complement to an exceptional sandwich.

Don and Julia traveled to Redding to come do a coffee tasting and educational seminar about coffee roasting for our senior community at River Commons Senior Living. The residents absolutely loved the coffee and information. They also helped our staff come up with a better plan for the coffee we drink and how we grind it. We have a weekly "Coffee House" activity and today we featured the Strawhouse Coffee and it smelled amazing in there and the coffee was delicious! Thank you Don and Julia! We look forward to having you back soon!

One of the hidden jewels of the Trinity area. If you ever want a great cup of Joe and great food take the drive. If you just need a place to look at the beauty that is Trinity then don't miss this opportunity.

Very hospitable owners! We ended up staying the night at one of the cottages after our car got stuck up the road. The coffee and food are excellent!
