If you hate your family…. Stay here. We fell for the worst bait and switch of all time. Pictures looked amazing online but these rooms are nothing like the pics and it’s dirty as hell. The pools are a joke and so gross my kids won’t step foot in there. I’m currently awake listening to the next rooms TV which isn’t loud but I can hear every word because of the adjoining door not being sealed at all. This place is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in some pretty bad places. Even one star is way too good of a review.

We had a beautiful view Right on the ocean the deck is a great restaurant to eat at with a view would definitely stay again.

Definitely nothing like the pictures that were posted when I booked. The room was far from aesthetic. Industrial gray carpet. Not one frame on the wall. Missing door knobs, dirty high touch areas. Both microwaves did not work. Spent over $400 a night. Probably worth about $50.

Extremely loud road noise and the room wasn’t very nice. Plus I could hear everything the neighbor room was saying. Really bad. For the price, motel 6 would be better.

I would NOT recommend anyone to stay at this CRAPPY hotel! For the price, you would expect a very nice room but what you get is the worst! Our room has an air conditioner unit right next to our bed. Yes, touching our bed. The unit sounds like a loud deafening motor. Take my advice and DO NOT stay at this hotel!

This is my FAVORITE hotel on the West Coast! It is a must stay! The staff is so friendly and helpful! Definitely stay oceanfront. You will not regret it. The view is spectacular and the sunsets are amazing! I cannot get over how much I love this place! It is also pet friendly so my 2 dogs love it! The rooms are open, bright and super clean. This is my new vacation spot. I have already stayed here twice this summer ❤❤❤

Great pool, spa, hot tub extra large / big enuf for the whole family, close to beach access… they provide chairs and lounges, umbrellas and towels… love it all!

If I could give zero stars I would. The only redeeming quality was the two poor employees that have no choice but to go with the owners scams. This reservation was supposed to be a surprise birthday present instead it turned into an horrible experience. Knowing that we would be arriving later in the evening I called at 330 to verify checking in later would be ok, I was assured yes that is ok and they reviewed the details of our reservation which was supposed to be a ocean view queen room. When we arrived after driving 2 and a half hours the employee at the front desk said we don’t have a reservation for you even though I see you have a confirmation and receipt. He then goes on to say well you would have been out of luck if we didn’t have a early departure. Great or so we though instead we are greeted by a alley way entrance stairwell. Once we entered the room we realized that not only was the bed not made but upon further inspection there wasn’t even a fitted sheet on the bed and there were small black dots crawling all over. The chairs were horribly stained and dirty and the pillows had stains on them. The sinks where dirty and chipped along with just about every surface in the tiny room with a full sized bed pushed up against the wall. I would expect this from a bad motel but not from a hotel that my one night stay is listed at $640.64.

I stayed at this hotel on Dec 22nd. The hot water was not working during my stay. After bringing it to the front desks attention, they argued with us and told us it was working. The maintenance came to our room (when we were out to dinner) and reported it was working, which was false. We went back to the front desk and the girl argued with us and told us the hot water was working. We asked for the maintenance guy to return to our room to show us how to get the hot water. After about 30 minutes of being in the bathroom. He told us it did not work. Why does your staff argue with their customers? I was also overcharged approx $100.00 that I noticed on my bank statement. After calling approx 6 times to try to speak to the manager I was unsuccessful. I left a message when I couldn't reach them over two weeks ago and I have still not been contacted. What does that say about this hotel?

Absolutely great hotel friendly staff and great location, with an awesome beach Highly recommend staying here, I have stayed Here more than a dozen times and love how close the hotel is to downtown Laguna, stores and restaurants.

Valet handed me my keys twice even though I paid $34 a night for the service. Checking out we took our keys and walked to our car. Street parking available.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY… there were many hotels within walking distance (under a mile) surrounding this hotel that have friendlier staff, free breakfast, and bigger bathrooms for HALF the price. We were expecting to be awed, and we were not happy, the pictures online make the rooms look wonderful… they do not look that way… and the railing on the balcony was extremely loose, along with a chair that had a bent leg.
We called the third party site we booked through and asked if we could switch hotels because we weren’t happy, the third part site said that they could switch our hotels, if Pacific Edge Hotel agreed, and they wouldn’t agree, didn’t offer to move rooms… nothing. If you do book this hotel, they make you valet ($34 a day) your vehicle or you can pay for metered street parking in front of the hotel.

We were checked in by the hotel manager and he was a delight and very accommodating. There were 5 of us on a girls weekend and our suits were perfect. What was really great is I booked on line and didn’t have to pay until check out and I could cancel within 4 days of arrival without being charged. Unheard of in CA! Great place for families too.

What a hidden gem! Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, beautiful views, great restaurant, right on the beach. We will definitely be back!

If you have any kind of physical disability, they will NOT accommodate you. If it weren't for the fact that prepaying the room makes it non-refundable, I would have moved to a different hotel. So definitely skip this place if you need ADA-mandated accommodations because they seem to feel it's optional. This was supposed to be my dream vacation but Pacific Edge has turned it into a nightmare. I feel trapped in my room instead of comfortable and rested. And on top of all this? The key never works. So imagine you can barely get up or down stairs. Now imagine you have to make 3-4 extremely painful trips up and down those stairs just to try and get your key programmed correctly. And the ocean view you pay a premium for is just a narrow sliver of water peeking from between the other four buildings that block the "ocean view", so you can't even console yourself with that without feeling ripped off. Did I mention non-refundable? So you can't even try to at least find somewhere that won't be physical torture to get in and out of your room? Because that's Pacific Edge.

I cannot express how wonderful our stay was! From the ambience to the girls in the front office to the valet guys that are so quick and prompt they literally run to get your car every time even if you don’t tip them! But please do because they work so hard to get people in and out.

Great beach access and beautiful views. The staff is very friendly and they have all the necessities you might forget up at the front desk for no charge. The restaurants there, The Deck and Driftwood Kitchen are very good and you dine overlooking the beach.

Thank you Pacific Edge Hotel for a great stay! The staff was amazing including the valet guys and we loved that our hotel was close to everything and right on the beach! Plus the daily valet parking and dining credit package we got was well worth it! Definitely coming back!

My wife and I flew into LAX and headed south headed for Catalina Island. We stayed 1 night. Our room was clean and orderly. We were on the lowere level right on the water with the Pacific Ocean right off the balcony. All that awesome ocean air just blow g through the hotel room and the sound of the waves made sleeping real easy. The restaurant and bar was lively and packet. The food and drinks were top notch. We would gladly stay there again.

PEH is absolutely hands down the best place to stay in Laguna Beach. The rooms are beautiful & roomy, with the most outstanding views anyone could want. The staff is top notch & always willing to go the extra mile if needed. There are a lot of wonderful shops, restaurant's & art studios to explore. If you ever needed a break from real life this is the place you want to be!

Wow where to start! We were very excited for this hotel because of the beach access from the hotel, and let me tell you that was the only thing we actually enjoyed about our experience there. We came and our room wasn’t ready, we were told we would get a call when it was ready and after waiting for over three hours we finally went and asked ourselvs and the room was ready! (Way to give us a call). Way over priced for the quality of the hotel. Not worth paying that much what so ever. AC was leaking and the view of the parking lot wasn’t so great either. Also the beach chairs outside by the beach were horrible! Dirty, stinky and very worn out! There were cockroaches in our room! Also the pool was just awkward. Couldn’t even swim freely because people’s balconies were right there. Hotel was very miss-advertised! The pictures online didn’t look anything like the reality. We were very surprised not in a good way. We honestly couldn’t wait for checkout the next morning…

Very good for the price. Old. No outlets in rooms. But seriously, the location is great! Access to the beach is good. Don't worry about buying boogie boards or beach chairs. The hotel has a good spot to use that stuff right near the beach.

The car valet was pricey but worth it. The entire experience of the Pacific edge was really grand. We enjoyed ourselves. The 2 bedroom suite was very comfortable for my wife and 2 adult son's. I would recommend staying here.

I have always loved staying here in the oceanfront rooms but lately the place is looking run down water leaking in the balconies stair cases railings are all corroding spots on the carpet and three days my electricity went out because the power couldn’t take my hairdryer is just crazy when your paying money for a good resort? they need to upgrade the electrical system and do a whole remodel without upping the charge and valet fees anymore than they have … valet service and customer service is great They gave me $20 credit every day I was there for the electrical problem losing my air-conditioning three days in a row should’ve have been more than that but oh well.

This place is a total dive. First of all they charge you a resort fee for the equivalent of a run down highway motor lodge. They show very nice photos of a small renovated part of the place when in reality the majority of this "motel" is comprised of tiny outdated rooms. Our room overlooked a filthy area that looked worse than an inner city alley and the bathroom window had no screen. There is no free parking only valet, and the 14% State taxes combined with 20% city taxes on top of a $16 resort fee is terrible. I know the motel cannot do much about the taxes that is California for you, but the resort fee is ridiculous considering the amenities. On the plus side the staff was great, but the overall experience here was terrible. I highly suggest that if you are traveling with a family to find a much nicer place.

My friend and I absolutely loved staying at this hotel! Fantastic location in Laguna Beach with amazing views. You cannot beat being able to walk from your room straight down to the beach. The front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming. Also the attached restaurant was so yummy. 10/10 recommend!

This was our second time staying here, both times we purchased on Groupon. My husband and I reserved a king room with beach front view, amazing view both time, not disappointed at all. We ordered breakfast from the restaurant on site, food was delicious and prompt. The bathrooms are small, but I didn’t come for the bathroom, we wanted the view and direct access to the beach. Pacific Edge Hotel is close to everything, we were able to walk to dinner and didn’t have to worry about parking. We will definitely be back, we love it here.

Great view from the ocean front rooms. Probably the cheapest direct ocean view around here. Book directly from the hotel, you may get the better rate. A lot of restaurants in the walking distance and Laguna Beach downtown is in just 5 min walk. Valet parking is around $30 overnight with $45 max for a day. And they park our car 20 feet from our room. Now to take anything from the car we need to ask for a key. They would better charge for parking and do not call it Valet. Free parking options are in the neighborhood up on the hill, a few min walk. There are other parking options around. Dissapointing, this is the first hotel which did not give us a late check out because of "high occupancy" from Sunday to Monday. Vhevk in is 4 pm.

We went there to celebrate my birthday. We had the most incredible view and the room was beautiful. We were in the surf wing on the top floor. We had Driftwood Kitchen do room service twice. They were fast and delicious. Thank you to the staff! I definitely recommend the surf wing ocean front rooms. Higher up if you can. The Deck is open until 10 pm and they are below you. It didn’t bother us at all. We will be back.

It's really misleading when you book through Expedia or Jet Blue vacations what you are getting. To see the pictures on the web site which are gorgeous and then what you are actually getting, an old section of the hotel that is outdated and falling apart is very deceiving. No where in my booking did it say I would be staying in an old, outdated room. Even that I could have overlooked had the room actually been acceptably clean. The kitchen floor was filthy and when we cleaned it the cloth we used was disgusting. The state of the utensils and pans in the room was disgraceful even for an old outdated room. The cabinets and drawers barely opened or closed they were such a mess. The stove was disgusting, they couldn't have even been bothered to put new silver liners under the burners? They were stained and gross. Only 3 of the burners worked on the stove and there was only one rack in the oven. Since we were cooking some meals in the room it made it completely obvious that the cleaning staff wasn't cleaning the suite properly. There were crumbs that were not vacuumed for days off the floor near the table, and crumbs on the kitchen table that were left there for days as well. We purposefully left the crumbs to see when they would be cleaned. They were there for 3 days. The kitchen counters were not cleaned either and they were in terrible shape. The best I can say is that we got new towels every day.

Great hotel. We had a lot of fun staying here and love how close it is to the beach. Parking is not the best but that’s California in general anyway. Nice room and we got an upgrade for the same price. Good place to stop by and the shops and restaurants around are nice.

Very spacious rooms and full kitchen. Essentially an apartment. While the view from our room wasn't spectacular it was good. They do have rooms with better views. Not new and modern but was perfect for the location and feel we we're seeking.

Literally a tiny room in the basement near the carport without a bath — Just a very small shower. Not what you would expect for the price. Resort fee? This is not a resort. The place has a pool and a hot tub. some of their rooms are ocean front and could be worth the price, but most of the hotel is facing the alley or pch. Reached out to the hotel to dispute the room is not as advertised but they did not care.

The hotel is old but it is right on the beach. Many of the rooms are not good, but you get what you pay for. If you pay you will get a room with sea view, and and balcony right at the sea. This is really great and thise are the best rooms at the hotel. I have stayed at the hotel 3 times over tha last 4 years and I will come back.

Beautiful view, hotel is split into 4 hotels on a large property with only two actually on the beach. Staff is nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Would have given 5stars but hotel parking for one night is an additional $30 and $30 every day you are staying there. This should already be included with the room, but is not. So make sure to read the fine print before committing and driving all the way out to the beach because you might be spending more than you planned.

We've stayed here several times and so far it's one of our favorite places in the area to choose. Hotel's location can't be beat — some of the greatest views from your room can be found here, the restaurants produce delicious food, valet is nice and quick + reasonably priced for the area. There's a little beach area that is semi-tended with chairs and towels with umbrellas to use. This hotel is also pet friendly, which is so nice. The front desk staff tends to be a little snobby, despite the rotating personnel we've seen through the years — but check in is quick!

Great location. Rooms dated. Thin walls, make sure not to get a room facing the street because the noise will ruin your stay/sleep. Great service though and they managed to move us to another room.

This place was cool. Staff was super nice and accomodating. They bought us a wine opener when we needed one as well as a little space heater when we didn't know how to work the a. C. In the room. The room we had was just a room with beds and stuff, nothing special at all, but would still recommend if you need a place to stay while on the beach or in the area.

Nice resort with lots of restaurants.

The hotel room is definitely in need of some updates, but we would stay here again for the views. There isn't an elevator in the Reef building, so you will need to be okay with stairs. Bed was comfortable but room was small. Hubby had some work to do so he would have liked a small table and chair inside room, but I choose to do my work on the balcony so it was perfect. Only drawback of the balcony is the air conditioning unit for the room next door is on your balcony so this was pretty noisy and you could feel the heat being pushed out. There is a great place to sit downstairs and have a little gas fire. You just need to call the front desk and ask for someone to turn it on. They valet park for you, but are willing to get things out of your car anytime or get your car for you. We actually parked our truck for all 3 days and walked everywhere. It's a short walk to the main Laguna town one direction and Ralphs is pretty much across the street. We bought breakfast there and ate on our balcony everyday. Make sure you walk up the beach towards Laguna to see the tide pools and then enjoy a stroll the opposite way to enjoy looking at all the houses along the beach. The Sunsets are beautiful and it's perfect place for paddle boarding. There's a store on the corner that rents boards too. Dogs are welcomed on the beach below the hotel, so it was so nice to take our boys down with us. The hotel brings out chairs and umbrellas for you each day, so we took advantage of this everyday.

The room I got was better than what is described in other reviews in terms of cleanliness. One thing I did experience was the thiness of the walls, the following morning I was able to hear a woman on the phone coming from what I assume is an office next to the room. She was clearly audible as if in the room. Besides that, the room was fine and staff friendly.

Chose this place for a business meeting my fiancee and I had. When we arrived and got the first room we were a bit dissapointed it only had a stand up shower. I called front desk and Travis said he will see if he has anything. He called me shortly and put us in a room with a bath tub and a mini kitchen. I was wowed, he was fast and very nice about it. I would definitely use this place again based on customer service. The property is nice, very close to the beach. I enjoyed listening to the waves before sleep! Thank you Travis, you are awesome!

A very nice view. And delicious food.

No question that this is a great location. However the room we stayed in was a little bit dated. It looks like they have renovated many of their rooms, but unfortunately we didn't get to stay in those. Get to the beach early if you want towels and a beach chair, otherwise you'll need to bring your own. Your only option for parking is to pay $34 per day valet, plus tip. It is a very walkable Community with plenty of restaurants in all price ranges within walking distance and a grocery store right across the street.

Location and service was great. However the walls are so thin that we could hear everything in the adjoining room that appeared to have 10+ people in it until past 2am. Ultimately had to call front desk about it but it sounded like they were right inside our own room with us.

It was nice. We wanted to eat at Driftwood Kitchen but they couldn't seat us. We ended up on The Deck. Too long of a wait but nice atmosphere and beautiful view. The food was good. Recommend the cheese platter.

I was at the bungalows for a work function and it was amazing. The staff was great, the food was tasty, and the drinks were nice and cold. But the best part was the view. Right on the ocean, it's hard to beat a view like that.

Attended a party at the bungalows and loved it. Gorgeous views and beautiful rooms. We had access to the Sailor Jerry, Fox, and Billabong rooms. The staff was awesome and the food was good. I enjoyed it so much I will be requesting information to host a future event there.

Incredible place! We came for a wedding weekend and the experience was phenomenal. The staff that worked the wedding, the food and all the details were perfect. Another amazing spot at this hotel is The Deck, my new favorite bartender is Morgan please make sure to meet him he will take phenomenal care of you! A good experience in total.

Location is good, right in front of the beach. The building itself needs massive renovation, it's very rickety, rusty old AC units hanging off the walls, my neighbor found a roach in their room, shortage of towels, not worth the expensive rate of $250 a night, and that's a room without the ocean view. It's a no smoking location, signs are posted, but it's not enforced, people smoking on the beach, smoking in rooms, and at the valet where you're trying to load your car. Also they charge you to keep your car there parked, $40 for a few days. Then on Monday the 6/12/17 the Cabana staffer out on the beach told us that he would be cleaning up the loungers and umbrellas at 4pm,?, and We're like what? It's summer time there is still 4 more hours of sunshine, his reply was because that the end of his 8 hour shift, we told him that the day before we had seen people out here until 8pm, and then he replies by saying "I was feeling generous. " So we ignored him, more people show up and nothing else is cleaned up, we remained on the beach. I'm sorry but if someone pays $250 a day, I expect to be able to enjoy the beach without early clean up and smoking. L There is also no lifeguard on duty here. The elevator inspection sheet posted was expired.

Always beautiful, we came during the rain but still had a great time. The service was great, and the oceanfront views are a must. If you are staying at this hotel, denitely get a ocean view room and in the Surf tower, away from the restaurant and beach goers. This my second time, and will be back again. Just an FYI, sometimes you may find a discounted rate on Groupon, either way your day will be fabulous listening to the crashing of the waves and the smell of sea salt in the air.

Amazing ocean view! Rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable. If you're a JDV member the bring you a nice welcome basket. The staff was all very friendly from the front desk to the maids and even the grounds crew when walking around.

Well I have only stayed a night so far, however it has been a mostly positive experience. The rooms are tiny, however you're obviously paying for the location. Otherwise I think everything else has basically been perfect.

The valet parking was pretty pricey. It was $45 for overnight or $30 if you booked a room. I wish the valet took card instead of cash only. I didn't have enough cash so I had to use the ATM by the lobby and was charged $4 for the transaction (that $4 fee is what was going to be the valet driver's tip). The view of the beach was nice though.

It's a great place right on the beach. We stayed at a 2 bedroom condo. The room is pretty good but one bedroom doesn't have any ventilation so it's not terribly comfortable. We also asked for a few extra like a coffee mug and towels. The towels arrived after the second request but the mug never did. Overall it's a really nice place to take the family to the beach. I love having such easy beach access, heated pools, and timeshare living with maid service.

Stayed here one time and absolutely fell in love with it. Definitely go for the beach front rooms when they are available. Easy-Off Street valet parking and Superior staff service. Walking distance to Main Beach and the hotel dog friendly as well.

Such a cool spot to stay! Enjoy morning kayak tours with La Vida Laguna and paddle the amazing coast of Laguna Beach. Great staff and nice service, you can't lose.

We love this hotel. If you want a super nicely furnished place, thats exceptionally maintained it might not be for you. If you want a comfy and clean bed, with a room hanging right over the water, super friendly staff with walking distance to everything then this is your place. Its right on the beach! Make sure you get an Ocean Front room, not ocean view… well worth the upgrade.

My family and I love this location. They recently renovated certain wings of the hotel and it looks very modern and amazing. Service is exceptional and the restaurants around are fenomenal. It's a great choice!

Plus: Located directly on the beach with provided chairs, surfboards and paragliders.
Minus: The rooms and hallways are quite schrammelig and at night you can hardly sleep due to the roaring air conditioning and a restaurant next to it.

Great staff, the location doesn't get any better than this. Right on the beach, short walk to many fine restaurants. The rooms are spacious, the decor and finish simple. We like the rooms with kitchenettes so that snacks are easy to put together for kids. That being said, the room service is great.

This is our third year in a row staying here at Christmas. It is fantastic to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean and all its glory. The rooms are good not amazing, but the service is always wonderful.

Perfect view at a decent, well priced hotel. Rooms end up not being quite how they look online but proximity to the beach makes up for the slightly shabby interiors. Valet service was always prompt and friendly but just leave the car and walk whenever possible. Restaurants were cramped and over heated with crazy long waits for mediocre food. Much better food choices around town.

We really enjoyed the Pacific Edge Hotel, but mainly because we upgraded to an ocean front room when we got there. The hotel is in a great location, right on the beach, just a few steps from the central downtown/beach area of Laguna. The hotel itself doesn't look very nice from the outside, and if you're not in an ocean front room, can seem like you're staying at a standard motel. But we upgraded to an ocean front room and it was AMAZING! So worth it — the views of the water right there, everything about the room, it was all perfect. So if you're going to go, splurge on the ocean front room so you won't be disappointed!
