My husband, granddaughter and I all caught the stomach flu 3 days after check in. Including ER, Medication costs and a spoiled Christmas visit with our children after not seeing our son for 3 years. We asked for late check out to allow time to get our granddaughter to a doctor and gather our things. We were told the hotel was booked and to get out as quickly as possible. Then upon check out, 2 separate hotel staffers told us that several employees were sick and had come to work over the past several days. We were NEVER warned, notified or told if this until we were leaving your facility, so ill it became hard to function. Too tired to exhibit our shock & dismay. The man who came from an office behind the front desk tried to hush the situation by blowing off the severity of the situation. Jerk. Another issue-being so ill; vomiting and diarrhea, we used EVERY towel and washcloth availabile. Asked for more. Asked for the room to be cleaned and disinfected. Rude and very slow response. Also, some of the lights didn’t work. One lamp had a loose bulb fitting, like it had fallen over. Asked for repair. NOPE! Didn’t happen over our 10 day stay! Oh! One more thing! We stayed at Marina Shores last year and the smoke alarm kept going off. Dead battery. Night desk person was an older woman and the ONLY staff there late at night. She ended up taking the desk chair and putting it on the bed to try to take the detector down. Nope. She fell! We ended up having to pack our things at 2:00 am and move to a different room! We are disappointed and just plain angry at the irresponsibility shown by your staff and hotel in general. Karen J. Eugene, Oregon.
