My husband and I just enjoyed another relaxing stay at Desert Trails Bed and Breakfast. It is always our first choice when we visit Tucson. The location is as close as you can get to the east side of Saguaro National Park with all of its many hiking trails and magnificent cacti.
The hosts John and Steffi are warm and welcoming. The property is a wonderful experience in itself, we actually saw and heard more remarkable birds in the surrounding gardens of Desert Trails than on our hikes. Additionally, the breakfasts John prepares each morning are amazingly delicious.

Can't say enough about our hosts. John and Steffi are seasoned bed and breakfast operators and in tune with their guests. Steffi makes the best bread I have ever tasted, and John provided us with excellent breakfast treats daily. They are fun and engaging and a wealth of information on the area. The bed was super comfy and sleeping was no problem in the quite peaceful local.

Lovely, warm, place to stay, particularly if you want to hike in Seguaro East. Our room was large and comfortable. We built a fire in the fireplace. Breakfast was excellent and the owners are great hosts. The building is set amongst beautiful cacti. If you're hiking in Seguaro East, the trailhead is 5 minutes down the very same road! It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to places in the center of town.

Absolutely lovely. Easygoing hosts knowledgeable about the area. Fantastic, downright inventive breakfasts. Beautiful house, nice details everywhere, and with lots of bird feeders, great birdwatching before you even go outside. Fancy shower in Mica room. Just an absolute pleasure to be there. A real warm, human-feeling bed and breakfast in this increasingly cold inhuman world. New retirement goal for me I dare say.

This bnb was perfect. The location was excellent for our cycling climb of Mt. Lemmon and a hike in the nearby Saguaro National Park. The swimming pool was ideal for cooling down in the high temperatures. But especially the host John is amazing. He prepared the best breakfast (every day another surprise dish) and gave tips of the surroundings.
It was really the best stay of our 3-week roadtrip!

We're on the third day of a four day stay at the Desert Trails and are having a wonderful time. The property is beautifully landscaped. There are many common spaces to enjoy and our room, the Mica Room, is perfect. John and Steffi are great hosts and John's breakfasts are delicious. Today's special was a frittata done perfectly. Lots of fresh fruit available, too. John has helped us out with suggestions for places to visit and shortcuts for getting there. Highly recommend Desert Trails and if we return to Tucson will definitely stay here again.

This Bed & Breakfast is 5 stars plus. As I am the daughter of the owners I have grown up with amazing parents who have done such an amazing job with this place. The rooms are comfy, my father’s breakfast is delicious, and the scenery is beautiful. No matter how long you stay you will never be disappointed.

Just the best place ever.

We were from the 10. April 2018 for 3 days in Tucson. We liked it very much Steffi and John. We had a very nice room. Every day for Breakfast, there was something else. We can only recommend it.

This is the 4th time we have been guests at Steffi&John. As always, it was a really great time. Breakfast is always top! Thanks for everything to you and until sometime again!

We just stayed a week at the Desert Trails B&B and never wanted to leave. The property and lodgings are gorgeous, serene and peaceful with bunnies, hummingbirds, and road runners all sharing the space (and with nightly entertainment by some very rambunctious coyotes). We were in close proximity to some of the most spectacular hiking trails (i. E. Douglass Spring Trailhead and Cactus Loop Drive) and were able to easily hike 10-12 miles daily, with a restful siesta mid-day back at the homestead. The breakfasts were prepared with great love and pride by John, who in our minds is definitely skilled enough to be called a master chef! And both Steffi and John were encyclopedias of information when it came to offering tips for the best trails and local attractions. We are seriously considering retiring to this lovely oasis and until then will be returning as soon as we can in the New Year. It is a place of beauty, connection to the earth, and spiritual grounding! It truly is like coming home! Carolyn and Daniel.

I had a wonderful experience at Desert Trails B&B. Clean & comfortable accommodations, friendly innkeepers, and delicious food. If I venture back to the area in the future, I will definitely be staying here again.

My very first experience at a B&B was here at Desert Trails. John and Steffi were wonderful hosts with a beautiful and cozy home. Each room was independently heated and cooled and John cooked breakfast each morning, which was excellent. I will definitely go back and stay with them!

Spent the most wonderful, relaxing two days and nights with John and Steffie. The room and house were charming, and comfortable in everyway. John and Steffie are great for conversation and sharing stories. Have to give a great shout out for the blueberry pancakes (yummy yum! ). Don't stay anywhere else in Tucson. Any stay at a B&B should be quiet, comfortable, with a great breakfast. John and Stephanie get great scores on all three of these. My wife and I spent three nights there and enjoyed our stay very much. We slept better than we do at home. Highly recommend the Desert Trails B&B!
