If you like older properties that have been well maintained and enjoy the charm of the older architectures, this might be the spot for you. We loved the fountain and garden area. While the rooms are indeed a bit dated, the essentials — appliances, TV's, fixtures, beds, locks — are all quite up to date and well maintained. It lacks the gleam of the latest chrome-and-glass wonders, but it is comfortable, inviting, and very reasonably priced. A short drive from the 4th Avenue district with quite a few interesting restaurants. It would be a great stop for a Route 66 themed trip. The complementary breakfast at the adjacent restaurant was excellent and a step up from the usual self-serve breakfast buffet unless you really want a LOT of food — and you can complement the free breakfast selections with other items are reasonable prices if you want. Service was great on all aspects. We would definitely come back!

I've stayed at Best Western on my 4 previous trips. The rooms are large, they are family friendly and they serve breakfast at a local diner or restaurant. The locations are always perfect. The only ding is their bathroom amenities are in need of a repair due to old age and overuse. The jet tub in my suite was not working, even though I specifically booked the suite (which was more expensive) because of this particular amenity. Otherwise, they offer good service and rooms for the price.

I have stayed at a few BW's and thought this would be at least OK, especially with the location near downtown. It turned out to be so gritty that we couldn't even stay.
The place was undergoing some renovation, so our room was in the middle of a kind of construction site. There was a bare mattress against the wall outside our unit, and some other junk on the other side of our door from the mattress. There was a truck and trailer with junk to haul away right next to our parking space, and then a dumpster next to that. The neighborhood nearby was about as unsightly as the room. We checked in and looked at other options. Radisson right downtown was the same price (plus $20 for parking), so we went with that and checked out. Half of our payment was refunded. The Radisson was much better.
After this I know not to simply go with a place based on the Best Western brand. In spite of the name, the quality varies a lot. This was the worst of 5 BW's that I stayed at.

Housekeeping Does not clean, went out for breakfast came back they didn’t vacuum, Refill the coffee container I had to call them to come back to vacuum, will not be back, will not be making recommendations to this place.

The clerk at front desk was very helpful, our room was very clean and the room was quiet. Will definitely be back here again.

Okay here you go guys here's a review about the Best Western Royal in in Tucson Arizona at 10:15 North Stone avenue and story about how our stay went. And a story about a very racist very uneducated and very rude stuff tried to tell us that they could smell smoke in our room and try to keep our $250 I of course objective because I have not smoked anything in our room and neither had my husband. After some further debate we were informed by the manager that her maids knew what methamphetamine smelled like and I of course objected cuz I do not smoke methamphetamines neither does my husband and asked her why would she employ such degenerates and was given the reply of and I quote well most of her made staff is from the south side of Tucson which I of course objected to because being from the south side of Tucson I took offense at the fact that she's trying to say that everybody from the South side must be a drug addict.

It has a nice hot tub and a nice pool.

For Tucson, it's a pretty upscale motel compared to a lot of the others. The pool and jacuzzi we're the highlight of my stay. So if you are looking for a nice place to stay if in Tucson this is it. Even though it is $100+ it's well worth the price.

Well this is totally awesome this is my fourth time staying at the Best Western sweep and I love it so the next time I get to stay I am a Rewards member my motel room will be free I recommend Best Western Suites they are the best I always get a king room or a double room with a hot jacuzzi tub thank you Best Western Suites I love your motels.

Genuinely Friendly, courteous, helpful staff. A warm feeling of south western hospitality with a clean safe place to stay. Very helpful in supplying me with some things I had forgotten to bring. Overall a excellent stay was had.

Spacious, clean rooms. Floor level, which is important for two Seniors. Plenty of parking also.

Right off the I 10 so very convenient. Restaurant at the hotel was very nice. We received a room upgrade which was very big. They put us on the second floor which I like but unfortunately didn't mention the hotel does not have an elevator so you'll have to carry all your bags up and down the stairs. Not fun! Bed was very hard.

We were traveling with our dog and were treated very good here. The room was nice and very clean. Our pooch was just as welcome and the location is close to gas stations and the highway. The comped breakfast was better than average and the staff were all courteous and friendly. Pricing was less than I expected and the experience was good. If you're traveling thru Tuscon Arizona and you're tired and in need of a room I recommend you stop here. Best to call ahead to book your room in advance as we did.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Everyone is super friendly, the room was great, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel bar is awesome. There's also a free breakfast offered in adjoining restaurant. The pool area was great, too. Very clean, close to Congress and a great value. This is my new hotel when I stay in Tucson! This place has incredible value. The property is well cared for and looks newly renovated. The staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable and clean. You get a 2 for 1 drink coupon and a free breakfast coupon with your stay. The breakfast is made to order and tasty. You really can't get more bang for your buck than this place.

I had wanted to get a suite at this hotel, but they were all booked. When I got to my room, however, I did not mind not getting a suite. I was very surprised to see how large the room was, how clean it was, and how many nice amenities there were. There was a large walk in shower that had a dispenser with shampoo, conditioner and body soap. There was an ample amount of towels, washcloths, and hand towels in the room. There was a hair dryer, and I think there was an ironing board. There was a coffee maker and coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, and sweetener, and I think there may have been hot cocoa also. There was a small refrigerator, but no freezer compartment; that wasn't a problem though, as the refrigerator temperature was quite cold. There was a flat screen TV, a writing desk and chair, (there may have been two chairs) and a comfortable sofa and coffee table. The pool was awesome. The temperature was warm, but not too warm, and the pool was also quite large and quite clean. The hotel supplies towels at the pool so that you don't have to use the ones from your room. There are three or four tables with umbrellas and chairs, plus several lounge chairs. The Royal Sun offers free breakfast in their Lounge, but be careful what you order because some of what's on the menu is not free. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which was not free, but it was very large and quite tasty. I understand that the lounge is open for dinner and drinks, but they close at 10 p. M. And I got back late.

Economical pricing for the area. Very spacious and modern rooms! Very clean place. Amenities were sufficient. Room has TV too. The staff are helpful. Breakfast is decent, but not great. Few decent restaurants around and close to the university. I would highly recommend this place for value for money.

Very clean very nice room staff was super helpful the complimentary breakfast is awesome. The bar attached to the hotel is a pretty cool place especially for karaoke what hotel gives you a buy one beer get one free of your choice I had a very expensive craft beer. Great location on the west side of town right off Interstate 10 good location to start if you are exploring around town.

Nice hotel. Some rooms even have a wet bar. Clean and freshly painted rooms too. 2 for 1 coupons for happy hour at the on site bar and free breakfast at the restaurant in the morning! (Far better than those stale bread, stale cereal and powdered egg offerings at most budget hotels. The pool and hot tub are nice too. Just stay away from the park across the street.

The rooms were really nice and the amenities were great. The pool is heated and nice. The free breakfast on site is great and they serve dinner too. The only reason it's not getting 5 Stars cuz the mattresses were too firm. The office did what they could to help.

Very well maintained property. Clean, well appointed rooms. Restaurant and Cantina serve good food at fair prices; no lunch available. Regular train whistles in the distance but not to noticeable in the rooms. Easy freeway access.

My wife and myself enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Check in was enjoyable and fast, room was very clean and everything worked. Bed was very comfortable. Wi-Fi was fast and large size toilet was very enjoyable. Breakfast at the on-site restaurant was wonderful and the hostess and waitress were tremendously nice and service fast. I chose the location because of its proximity to Centennial Hall. Just 5 minutes away.

When I stayed there for two days, I had a great time and the way they gave me their services was amazing and even till now I am recommending the name of this hotel  to people. The way they took care of everything throughout the process was amazing. It was a great experience for me.

The hotel is comfortable and clean. It has a nice size pool and jacuzzi. The continental breakfast is wonderful! They have a restaurant and you take your voucher to your table and order from the menu. Great restaurants near by.

My third year visiting this area. The hotel is situated near to the university so that I am able to reach that part of Tucson by feet. The rooms are comfortable and clean Breakfast is well prepared fresh.

Large king room had everything we needed — desk, chair, sofa, comfy chairs, jacuzzi, microwave, fridge. Check-in staff were extremely gracious about switching us to a ground floor room. Husband said that breakfast (included in the room) was very good! We will probably stay here again, if/when we revisit Tucson.

Great place; very easy to get into and out of. The staff at the front desk were super helpful. The neighborhood isn’t amazing, but in the hotel parking lot and courtyard it’s fine. Nice heated pool and hot tub too. Thanks again.

Great hotel to stay at in the Downtown Tucson area. Conveniently located near major routes, this is a great location to stay for a short/medium period, literally a short walking distance to the downtown or University. Rooms and housekeeping staff were excellent and all amenities working very well. Outdoor pool, hot tub and fitness facility well maintained. On-site restaurant offered very good selections and staff (Sara! ) excellent to deal with and insightful for local attractions. Front desk staff very helpful as well. If in Tucson again, and need a location to stay near the downtown/University, would highly recommend.

Great location: close to U of A and downtown Tucson's street scene. Breakfast is a real treat — a wide selection of items included in the room charge. Also, 2 for 1 drink coupons in the lounge. Amenities are great — the exercise facility has more equipment than most hotels. The pool and hot tub are in great shape.

This is a very nice place to stay. Check in was smooth and staff is knowledgeable. Room was spacious and attractive. I'm picky about mattresses and slept soundly both nights. There were different kinds of pillows on the bed, so easy to find perfect one. Hot tub was quite relaxing and large, so not mushed up next to strangers. Breakfast was made to order, and coffee was quite drinkable. The bacon was better than what I eat at home. I would recommend this property to even my 4 star hotel friends, and would certainly stay here again.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving and the hotel, amenities and location are nice. BUT it is VERY CLOSE TO A VERY BUSY TRAIN TRACK! You will hear the train blowing its horn ALL DAY AND NIGHT! The hotel provides ear plugs for guests but we opted against those. Instead, we borrowed TWO fans from our relatives and put them next to each side of the bed (blowing away from us) to drown out the noise. We couldn't find any fans for sale in the stores in late November as it's considered a seasonal item and the hotel didn't have any for us to borrow. If you come prepared you'll be fine.

Stayed here again. It's a beautiful place, inside & out. The room (King bed) was roomy. The living & sleeping areas benefited from a unique design of the closet, vanity, & bath areas, which seemed to fit in a smaller area than I am used to. It wasn't cramped, and the use of space was efficient. The restaurant's breakfast was very good, and ordered and served by a wait staff.

The place is actually pretty nice. The food at the bar is really really good. The prices at the restaurant are in line with what they are serving. I hotel is clean and the landscaping is nice. They have a heated pool and a hot tub. That are very well kept. The rooms are clean and well taken care of.

The hotel room was nice and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was too greasy and the food service was not that good. Also another thing to consider is that a train passes through nearby and is loud. The Wi-Fi was good. The hotel was easy to find. Overall our stay was good.

We stayed 1 night in August in this hotel during our good road trip hotel very friendly reception from the manager who offered to taste the local margaritas in we put good ones to our arrived clean and spacious room, very large and nice bed.
Nice pool area also which helps to cool off from the hot Tucson Day good breakfast at the hotel restaurant too.
Close to downtown and a few miles from old Tucson, Saguaro NP and Pima Air Space Museum.
I would recommend it without hesitation.

I stayed the night of the 3rd, the room was excellent — very clean, spacious and honestly exceeded our expectations! Angie made sure that I had a lower level suite as requested and had taken care of some special arrangements in the room as I had requested prior to us arriving. The main reason for the stay was to take advantage of their awesome little lounge and the karaoke! The bartenders were speedy and attentive. This had only been our second time visiting and we have told everyone about this gem! Can't wait to stay again and we'll definitely be visiting the bar.

Excellent service. Very clean room. Best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Also went to the bar for buy one, get one free at night. Live music was great. Drinks were reasonable, and late night food was spot on. True hidden gem. Would stay here every time I visit Tuscon. Nice work overall!

Family came to visit and stayed here. They received complimentary breakfast each morning. A lot of parking space. Rooms were clean and modern looking. Was pretty amazed on how nice the hotel was. Plenty of towels, cups, and amenities. Overall, a great hotel.

I really love visiting Tucson and staying at the Royal Sun. The rooms are cozy, but that's now why I stay there. The people are exceedingly nice. The buy one, get one bar ticket and breakfast included from the restaurant are nice perks. Even though I don't like Karaoke that much, the Royal Sun has the best one I have ever heard. Lots of talented folks there. Will be back, soon.

Really cute place. Great value. Fun place to stay. Little seating area outside each room. Pool, jacuzzi. Restaurant/lounge across from lobby. There is a train nearby, but it didnt bother me because this hotel provided earplugs which I did use. Very convenient to freeway and town.

Location is conveniently located only a few streets off I-10 and a short Uber ride away from downtown and U of A. Front desk staff was friendly. Our room was a first floor room on the west side of the complex. The train could be heard, but not enough to disturb you. Either way, earplugs were provided. There were two knocks on this place. First, there is a sort of alley way that runs through the complex. Late at night, there were some questionable individuals walking through. Second, our room had a window that looked out to the neighborhood behind. The street behind is lower, but there is a hill from the street up to the window. It did not give me the greatest sense of security. Overall, good hotel and would likely stay again.

My Family and I wanted a fun Karaoke night, and that's exactly what we got. Saturday night at bar is so much fun. Great singers (and non singers), great drink specials, good food.

One of the finest hotels you can stay at. The rooms are very clean, tidy and spacious. There's also a very nice vanity area stocked with some nice body lotion and other things that make you look and feel good. Nice, spacious closet, too. Same thing applies to the restroom, which is also well stocked with three, separate and special containers which are huge and attached to the wall inside the shower with some very nice and good shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. By the way, there are plenty of towels, too! They also have a nice pool and restaurant. I have also enjoyed myself with karaoke there, too! As a further note, the staff is both friendly and professional, plus the hotel is in a good area, too. The Pima College Downtown Campus is right across the street, and it is also in the area of the University of Arizona. And Stone Avenue is quite beautiful, too!

Staff both at check-in (Angela) and in the café at breakfast were wonderful! Pool and spa were used by many and looked wonderful as well. Room was nice although the shower/ toilet area is in need of serious updating and expansion — much too small. It was so nice to go into a hotel and have actual real coffee cups next to the coffee maker what a nice touch. While the bed was nice the pillows are horrendous and need to be replaced with ones that are much more fitting with the best Western brand.

Really like to comfort and Decor of the room. Staff was outstanding. Restaurant had great food and wonderful service. A little disappointed I did not realize there was a workout area until I was leaving and I could not take my meal to go but everything else was outstanding.

We were passing by just looking for a place to rest. But instead we got nice help at around 2 am a crib was provided for my baby, we stayed in a suit… the smell as we opened the door was nothing but cleanliness… the bedding was great and soft… the mattress was so comfy… everything was just perfect. We travek every year and This is our route and this will be our place from now on. Thanks to the receptionist and security guy helping us so late… or early!

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Best Western in Tuscon. The breakfasts were great and free. Also if you want anything else to eat, just pay a small extra fee. Two for one drinks at lounge (2 free) starting at 5:00 p. M. We really enjoyed the drinks of wine after spending the day at Banner Medical Center. We did hear the train, but it did not annoy us. They left ear plugs in the room for us. We will be back and in fact I just booked another 3 nights for next week. There is not a safe in the room.

Location was good. Parking is not convenient to the rooms, particularly if you have room on the second floor behind the pool. All rooms have exterior doors and there are no elevators to my knowledge. Exterior is a little outdated, but rooms have been renovated recently. The air conditioning was not on when we arrived around 3PM and it was 93F in the room. (Manager later told us that was a mistake and apologized. ) The room was slow to cool down and it was still 80F when we went to bed around 9-9:30pm. Bathroom was nice with a walk-in shower. Front desk called after we arrived at our room to check on us. Breakfast was included with room and was great.

I always enjoy staying here. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean with up to date furnishings. I like that the refrigerators have room because they have no freezer compartment. This also means my fruit and salads don't freeze overnight. My room had a small window above the shower which I appreciate for ventilation. Plus the room was designed to keep extraneous light from coming in. I appreciate a dark room for sleeping. The pool and Jacuzzi are very nice.

I grew up 3 blocks from here. Yet had Never been there before. Our AC went out on Memorial Day weekend the part we needed​ wouldn't b available till tues. We decided no to go to a crowded resort type place like usual. My husband does maintenance for a living so everywhere we go his first instincts are to inspect. He was satisfied the rooms were clean up to par. And he even gave us thumbs up on the pool. Nice place for a staycation. I would have liked to pick up our free breakfast and go back to the room, instead of sitting in but we made it work. Nice and quiet place even tho they were working on parking lot, thanks B W.

Really enjoyable place to stay. Gorgeous, spacious rooms. Pet-friendly. Great pool area. Good restaurant. Lovely grounds. And, friendly staff. Couldn't be happier with our stay.

Couldn't be happier. The price is right, the room excellent and the breakfast was the best. We are staying 3 nights.

I can only review my lounge experience. Great local musicians are being brought in. Great job! I am a regular on jazz Mondays, but have enjoyed the splendid mix of genre on other nights.
The waitstaff is A+ too. And I have had nothing but delicious food here. Very appetizing!

Rooms are clean and spacious. Pool and hot tub are nice although the hot tub is a little shallow. Showers are nice and have soap, and I shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. Front desk is courteous and helpful. Great location.

We had a room in the second floor facing the pool. The room was cozy, but could you an upgrade in the next year or 2. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. It was a hot and made 2 order breakfast. I would recommend this placed.

When I first pulled up I wasnt sure about this hotel, when you check in they give you a voucher 2 for 1 drinks at thier lounge and they give you another one for a free breakfast the food was nice, really good for a free meal it wasnt that continental breakfast stuff, it came with eggs hash brown sausage I will stay there again next time im in Tucson.

Just left this place. It was disgusting. If I could add images I would show you all of the cockroaches in this place. There was one about 2 inches long waiting for us in the sink when we arrived and more on the floor this morning. If we wouldn't have arrived so late last night I would have left. Also, I thought it was odd that there were ear plugs on the counter. Then really early in the morning (still dark out) I heard a loud train go by, which had its horn on the whole time it went by. This was followed by numerous police sirens and the train going by with its loud horn about every 30 minutes. I didn't get any sleep at all last night. If you sleep here, be ready to wear ear plugs, be awoken by a train all night and to share your room with cockroaches.

I am unsure of the name of the lady who checked us in but she seriously assisted us as we arrived super late and were struggling to keep both of our young children appeased. She operated quickly and even moved past a system glitch quickly at our benefit to ensure we could get into our room quickly.

What a treat. The place was comfy and the bar that was connected to it was super fun. Great free breakfast too!

The king sized bed room was very large and roomy. They also include a free breakfast and Wi-Fi. But, there was no hot water for 3 days and they kept saying a plumber is coming. They also turned off our card keys while we were out for the day for some reason and had to get new keys which was very inconvenient with our arms full of stuff including a 4 month old.

Room was very clean and well layed out, frount deck clerk was friendly and helpful.

Great room, staff were amazing even called me about a pair of shoes I left behind by accident, definitely would come back.

We stayed here for two nights and we loved it! The room was clean and the shower had great water pressure. The best part was the attached restaurant! We had breakfast and dinner, and both meals were fantastic! It's near the interstate so it was easy to get anywhere. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will stay here again!

Traveling with two young children and two pets. This place was fantastic. King bed suite here was larger than any other hotel we've stayed at. Beautiful, up-to-date, clean room, with thoughtful little extras. Associated restaurant had fresh decor; was very clean; plenty of options for included breakfast and very nice staff.

Royal Sun far exceeded my expectations! Grounds and rooms are immaculately maintained. All staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous! I only stayed one night, but wished I had time to stay longer just to enjoy the hotel! Breakfast choices for complimentary cook-to-order breakfast is excellent. However, I opted for the discount on the off-menu steak and eggs — cooked to perfection! Not very often is a breakfast steak a real steak. 8 oz rib eye was delicious. It did not require steak sauce, but the restaurant makes their own in-house, and it was fabulous. I plan to stay at Royal Sun for in-town getaways, and will recommend it to visiting clientele, friends, and family. Location is great — just a short way from downtown Tucson and from the freeway, though you would never know it from your room. A lovely, peaceful, comfortable hotel. Kudos to management and staff for making my short visit most enjoyable!

Great service here, staff is all super friendly. The location is easy to get to from the I-10, and far enough from campus and downtown to avoid the traffic. Very close to the Tucson Museum of Art and Rialto. The bar and restaurant are open fairly late and are conveniently located on the premises.

Pretty hotel with very comfortable, clean rooms, outdoor space, and attractive grounds! The food was excellent every mor nine aND every evening. … even though they were under construction and serving meals from the bar! Everyone was friendly and the customer service was excellent! Angela's very personal attention in helping get my luggage to me from the airline in the middle of the night so I could get to work in the morning was greatly appreciated! AND the free Wi-Fi really works, the 2 for 1 evening drinks include well drinks AND the free breakfast is a real "off the menu" breakfast! No stale pastries and fake eggs here! I would love to get the chance to visit again! The attention to detail is SO noticeable to a frequent traveler!

After traveling on the road for 12 + hours we really appreciated the friendly service. The room was specious and very clean. They gave us exactly what we wanted; a quiet area with a beautiful view to the pool. A member of the staff must have seen how tired we were because she recommended their restaurant right across the lobby of the hotel and even though they were in the process of renovating it, the food was execellent! We really appreciated not having to get in the car again and driving to go have dinner. Kudos to the chef and waitress for a wonderful meal and service. I woud recommend this Best Western to all my friends traveling through this area!

I liked the service there the rooms were nice employees were nice but There are these doors that go to a diffrent room and a man was trying to get in a couple times I dont think he knew but you could hear evrey thing he said and the ear plugs did nkt work they give you I dont think I will be staying here again.

My experience at this hotel has always been very positive. The staff has always been very nice, friendly, and professional. The rooms are big, quiet, and clean. The Wi-Fi has always worked for me without a problem. I saw reviews complaining about the noise, but the noise has never been a problem here for me.

The staff here is exceptional across the board. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the front desk, to the restaurant, to housekeeping. The location is excellent, easy access to I-10, various attractions including the zoo and 4th Ave. And healthy places to get food and eat. The pool and hot tub are large and handicapped accessible. There is an exercise room overlooking the pool which I did not use. I received the quiet, non-smoking room I requested, close to both the pool and the restaurant. The made to order breakfast was good and I was grateful for protein foods. There were a wide variety of choices. The negatives here include the bottom of the line mattress and the problematic Wi-Fi. I did notice the trains, but they did not keep me from falling asleep or wake me up. The problem with the Wi-Fi was not resolved with a half a dozen calls to technical support and was finally resolved by the front desk on my last day. I would stay here again.

We knew to expect a unique visit when we saw the earplugs on the bathroom counter. Turns out they were for the train that runs all hours of the night and can be heard throughout the whole area. The beds are old, the bathroom soaps were not stocked, and the pool and exercise room were inaccessible due to construction (we weren't warned). Most of these complaints were not hugely detrimental to our stay except for the train noise. The lady at the front was friendly and helpful, the two-for-one drink coupons were a nice touch, and it was great to eat free breakfast at the restaurant next door. All in all we did not enjoy the establishment but perhaps it would have been different if we came when the pool and exercise facility were open.

Very kind staff, nice rooms, free breakfast and drinks make this place a valid alternative to higher level hotels without losing in service. No laundry service makes it a 4 stars.

We stayed there on 9/21-22/13. When we first arrived to check-in. The girl behind the desk did not even greet us with a "Hello". I'm not sure if she was new and in training but her customer service skills sucked. We were given the keys to our room and had difficulty getting in, after 3 trips to the office, the other lady (not the one who checked us in) walked back with me to my room and finally got the door open. I think the instructions on the keys should be a little more detailed rather than vague. It turns out that after inserting the key, we have to wait for the green light to turn on and off before turning the knob. Other than that, the room was very nice and the complimentary breakfast was a nice treat. When we checked out the following morning, there was a gentleman at the front desk who greeted me with a nice big smile and asked me how I enjoyed my stay. What a big difference that was from the day before. Anyway, my only recommendation is that the front desk staff be trained a little better on customer service skills such as greeting customers with a smile.
