I started coming to this resort when I was 25. I am now 51 and when I say the Phoenician is my favorite place ever I mean it. They have the nicest staff and best service. It is always beautiful and amazing. My kids have grown up going to the Phoenician and I literally get teary eyed thinking about all the wonderful memories.

This was our second time coming here and it did not disappoint! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The rooms are a great size and housekeeping was great too. All the food and drinks were delicious and so good. The pools are awesome and have tons of seating and areas to hang out. Worth it!

Mostly this was a great place to stay. Perfectly located for the area. My biggest complaint is they consider themselves a 5 star hotel but not once were our bedding changed out for the entire week and not once were we given an extra bar of soap, as little as they are. We finally went to the local Safeway grocery for soap. The staff however were very friendly and the restaurant was pretty amazing for a hotel restaurant. But next time I come to Scottsdale I’ll be staying elsewhere.

They have horrendous customer service and the experience is nowhere near worthy of five stars.
1. They abandon visitors when they visit further away areas of the property for more than 30 minutes.
2. They overcharge for everything.
3. They ignore your concerns both while you’re there and after.
Etc.
Don’t go to this hotel. The JW Marriott is 1000% better.

We love everything about the Phoenician. The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant menus are diverse and the service is excellent. It has a wonderful ambiance and that makes us feel at home. Someone is always available to extend a helping hand. The salon and spa services are wonderful as well.

We went for High Tea to celebrate a birthday and it was lovely! They had delicious gluten-free accommodations. Staff was pleasant and the pianist was a nice addition. The white berry tea was amazing!

Just a spectator property, the gym facilities top shelf and super helpful and polite staff. Main lobby bar tended to close a little early for our taste and room service was the only option for a late night cocktail… can’t wait to come back to spend a few more days in luxury! The spa treatment (package) was a birthday gift from my daughter… it was actually first time visiting a spa and they made a lasting impression. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by very friendly staff. Since it was my first visit, they gave me tour of the facility. The ambience is amazing. Everything there screams relaxation. During the massages, facial, etc… even in the lounge area there's relaxing music. Between the facial, full body massage, and hot/cold pedicure with stones I left feeling amazing. Even the pasta they serve was great. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a spa treatment.

I love love love this places food but was a little disappointed when we went and there was a bunch of construction because I love the vibe that this place gives off. The menu is amazing. If you like beets and goat cheese do the salad before dinner. Love it! Also the patio off of the restaurant is very enjoyable and romantic.

Great experience, multiple pools which weren’t crowded, despite being Labor Day weekend. They gave us a free room upgrade since we had two little kids so we were at an end room and had a balcony. Beautiful hotel, nice facilities. My only complaint is how long we had to wait for room service. Maybe 45 min for 2 desserts… but they were delicious!

Wow. My friend and I booked this hotel because it had great reviews back in April. We had no idea what we did. This is a full out resort with multiple pools an excellent spa a number of restaurants and bars. The room was very large and comfy the bathroom was amazing as well. Highly recommend this place. Oh I shouldn't forget the staff who were courteous and friendly. I am definitely coming back here.

This was our 3rd stay at the Phoenician. Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly at the hotel. Our room was beautifully updated. They also have some fun activities. The one negative that may keep me from returning is their pool seating policy. It can get very crowded and yet many seats go empty, because to reserve one of their prime deck spots (which are large decks of seats, not only cabanas) it will cost you $50 per seat. When paying a daily resort fee of almost $40/day with the tax, it seems outrageous to have to pay so much if you aren't out to the pool by noon. It creates a negative experience and was further aggravated by staff who wrongly told us some areas were reserved (even after seriously questioning) that were actually open seating. The grounds are really lovely though!

I ate lunch at Mowry & Cotton while attending a conference at the Phoenician. I was very impressed with the food and experience! I had the citrus salmon and chickpea bowl and it was amazing! The Phoenician isn't close to where I live in Tempe, but I will be back for that salad! While there for the conference, I got to see the beautifully renovated spa. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I am planning a girls trip with some local friends for a spa day!

My group had an evernt at the Canyon Suites meeting rooms. I had never been to the property before, bit it was stunning! The service staff was very friendly from the valets to the servers to the meeting planners. The food was excellent and the professionalism of everyone I interacted with was exceptional. The room we were in was comfortable. One strange thing was that the bathroom attached to the meeting room had a tub and a shower… I'm not sure why…

Our family of three was treated to the most wonderful staycation at The Phoenician. My 7 year old had saved up enough money for an overnight there and she literally emptied her piggy bank, gave it to me and said “I want to go to the Phoenician! ” So we did. The staff was kind, thoughtful and generous. Everyone made a big deal about her being a great saver and she was so proud. Thanks to Daniel and everyone at the Phoenician for giving a little girl such a special memory. We are Phoenician zealots for life!

We stayed in one of the casitas, about 5 days or so, a couple years back, the entire week was amazing! The food was excellent, the entire property and hotel were spotless. Super friendly helpful staff! One of my favourite little parts was the unique pillow post cards we got each day from house keeping! I loved them so much! Unfortunately I’ve seemed misplaced them once I got home : (I’m heartbroken after losing such unique keepsakes : (
I hope they still have those cards when we return for another visit one year. I don’t have a single complaint. The Phoenician is my favourite resort yet!

This is my favorite place on the planet. There is so much to do, so much space to relax, great food, and excellent staff. I wish I never had to leave!

Hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Service, staff and amenities were all excellent. The pool area is massive with a spot for kids to play too. We were able to rent tennis rackets and play on an amazing tennis court with top notch equipment. I would never go to a place strictly because of a hotel but I'd seriously consider coming back to Scottsdale just to stay here again.

This place is AMAZING! The resort is beautiful inside and out, but it’s the staff that makes this place so amazing. Everyone was so friendly and would do anything for you. We enjoyed a day at the spa and rooftop pool. Just when you think it can’t get any better the staff at the rooftop pool brings cold towels with a sent of lavender to everyone. We will definitely be back.

Despite ongoing renovations, our stay has been wonderful. Staff is attentive and friendly. Dining options are varied and excellent. Rooms are well appointed, although I wish they included a fridge. Access to Camelback mountain is a short walk or a quick Uber away.

We had tea. It was excellent, as usual. We have been coming here for over 15 years. Wanda, our waitress is a gem, and you are lucky if you get a chance to be served by her! Unfortunately, we were INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED in the new modern look of the tea room. All the charm was sucked away by the new sleek look. It would have been nice if they could have kept a corner of this vast space, true to the heritage of high tea. Lastly, the new seating is incredibly uncomfortable!

This is a true 5 star hotel. Rooms are great, food is excellent, and everybody that works there is awesome. One small minor detail is that they need to be able to accept corporate credit cards. Terminal is set to ask CC for PIN. Excellent pool area. Make sure you get up early and hike the Cholla Trail.

Stayed at hotels all over the world and have to say this was the best experience ever. Stayed at the Canyon Suites on this property and the staff was attentive and very responsive. Addressed us by name and provide anything we need within minutes. The view of Camelback Mountain was amazing! Plan to make this an annual stay based on this experience.

Beautiful resort in a great location! Did not stay there, just a meeting then dinner and drinks. Would definitely go back! Resort just underwent extensive remodel and it looks great! Still some construction so you can't drive through the resort but that should be done soon.

We stayed for our wedding night. The staff went above and beyond to make our night special! The gate guard knew we were coming, and was very kind. Our room had special chocolates, a bottle of wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a HANDWRITTEN NOTE! We appreciated the staff going above and beyond to make our special night extra special.

When it came time to go to lunch on a patio a couple levels down there was someone right there to help guide us and also to serve us lunch. It was a wonderful experience. Reader was my waitress and Felix was the gentleman who pushed me back up the hill. Kudos to you I happen to be there attending a seminar unfortunately and I wheelchair. Everyone was so accommodating to me and my husband. When it came time to go to lunch on the patio a couple levels down there was someone right there to help guide us and also to serve us lunch. This is my favorite Resort, but I will not be biased when I say it is the best place to stay in the Valley. The service, the amenities, the property is absolutely Fabulous/ Excellent. Check out the spa for pampering it is well worth it, and be sure to relax in the meditation after a massage. The bars Thirsty camel and club house Relish give you a little bit of lively entertainment. You will be in aww at the Steak house or Italian restaurant with the presentation of the meals they serve. Please stay a night or 2, for Romance you will definitely get a spark back, and if only for relaxation you will be fully relaxed and rejuvenated after a stay at the Resort! The pool is fabulous and they show movies poolside on summer nights. Ladies try the High tea, it cannot be beat by any other resort in the valley. Ps. The grounds are so immaculately kept you want roll around in the grass.

Amazing views and food. The wait staff are top notch. The food is a bit out there but was good and decently priced. Everything looks high end and upscale.

Me and my fiancee went here for afternoon tea and had a great time with friends. The hotel is amazingly beautiful. Their lobby and patio is particularly nice to enjoy on a good day. Also great thing to note, compared to many other afternoon tea venues, the Phoenician offers unlimited food, desserts, and champagne with their packages!

Upscale resort at the foot of Camelback mountain. All of the staff was extremely professional and courteous at all times. Any thing you needed was just a phone call away. Rooms were very clean and very well maintained. Highly recommend this resort.

Went to afternoon tea at the Phoenician. There newly renovated area is more modern with a more open feel in the tea area. The staff is always wonderful. Wendy, one of the tea servers, had been working her for years and she is amazing. Always helpful and makes it a point to come say hello. The whole staff is always very friendly and makes you feel so special. Totally worth the money and experience!

Great property! Saw the trapeze school on the drive in to the resort. Gotta give it a bonus for that. The hotel is quiet, nice, and serene. I was there for 3 days for a company meeting. I wish I had time to check out the pool (great looking water slide) and other amenities more but sadly my days were packed with meetings. Head over to the Cholla trail to hike up Camelback mountain. It's one 20min walk away! Bonus!

Nicely remodeled lobby. View of skyline is unbeatable. Staff is very pleasant and professional. Good is top notch in all the restaurants. J&B's was terrific with excellent service. Thirsty Camel had been excellently remodeled with a more open and modern feel.

Wow! It was an awesome sight! You get from one place to the next only in an elevator. We went there to get drinks. The different flavors of drinks were delicious my by an expert. How we worked both hands and answered questions an gave directions at the same time. In in all awesome!

The saying you get what you pay for is absolutely true. The cost is second to none and the service is second to none. We have been well traveled and this place has taken the crown jewel. We have not been to a resort that treated us the way that we were treated here. From the moment we arrived, Chelsea took great care of us. We will be returning to this resort not just again but several times over. It is a one of a kind place and we cannot speak highly enough about it. We did the couples massage and will say it was the best massage of my life. If you are trying to pinch pennies do not bother. This place isn't that and the service and food reflect this culture. The breakfast, lunch, and on site steak house was fabulous!

Beautiful rooms with big bathrooms. Just couldn't get the temperature right — very breezy in the room… And spa was not fully open… No amenities. Otherwise great experience! Excellent staff and service! Pools were warm and was walking distance to Camelback mountain. Beautiful room views.

Went for a drink at the bar and ordered the Sandia Martini which is grapefruit and basil. 3 drops of basil oil was added to the top. It was a delicious drink. Also it was decorated for the holidays and they had professional carolers which was very nice.

Just checked out from our first stay at the Phoenician. We have stayed at most resorts in the area and this resort has stood out. From the moment we arrived service was impeccable. Every single staff member was genuinely kind and helpful and all had sincere smiles on their faces. The resort just went through major renovations and the rooms, grounds and pool are are beautiful. This just may be our new favorite Phoenix resort.

Best resort in the Phoenix area. Centralized location for quick access to everything you would want to visit. 5 min drive to Scottsdale Fashion Square for premium shopping and dining.

The Marketplace is a hidden gem. Great stop when cycling through PV or just for a coffee stop. The pastries are really worth the trip (although they are hidden from view, make sure you walk out the interior door to see the display! ) Service is great and there are tables to sit at. So nice!

Love this place, especially since the recent renovations. Yes it had gotten rather down at the heels in prior years, with carpets and cushions showing wear, and postponed maintenance. But the layout of the pools, grounds and the size of the rooms kept us coming back year after year. Now since the facelift it's that much more attractive. Prices are up accordingly, but you get what you pay for.

Everything here is 5 star from the staff to the grounds to the amenities. Very pleasant and helpful people, very clean and newly updated rooms. Not a bad drive from Phoenix airport.

Everything great and very helpful and caring front desk staff. However some members of the valet crew during the night shift are simply ill mannered, rude and too self centered and therefore don't deserve to be working on such nice resort. A luxurious place means a luxurious place in every aspect. It is truly a shame that stupid behavior of very few employees should affect the reputation of such a great resort negatively. I have refrained from giving the resort one star, simply because of all the previous positive interactions and because I feel that I need to be fair to all the good personnel of this resort despite this particular bad experience with a couple of disrespectful valets.

We visited and used their spa services. Despite being under renovation, the ambiance that they set up was fabulous. Not to mention the staff and the actual massages received were wonderful. We absolutely would consider revisiting once their renovations are complete.

The new renovated resort is one of a kind. I've only experienced the best at this hotel. It's located in an awesome location. Lots to do at night and at the same time it's very close to all the locations within the Scottsdale downtown area. This is definitely my place to stay.

Amazing place to stay! The staff is courteous and met everyone of our needs. The rooms were exquisite, and clean. We also ate breakfast at the hotel, and it was everything that we could have asked for and more. The summer rate we got was exceptional and they even upgraded us because it was our anniversary. I would highly recommend going back and in fact I may just stay there whenever I have the option.

Didn't go into the resort, just played golf and got drinks after. Course was great despite having 2 of the 9s closed (makes sense in the summer). Fairways and greens were in great condition and play was fairly smooth. Restaurant had your typical bar food with a fancier twist. Bartenders were friendly and attentive.

Nice hotel. The interior decoration is a little ageing. The pools, the Cactus garden, the tennis courts and the golf course are beautiful. At the foot of the Camelback Montaigne the hotel allows you to climb to the top for a magnificent view of Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Beautiful tennis facilities, kind staff, private atmosphere. Any time spent at The Phoenician is guaranteed to please and relax. The evening ambiance is characterized by mild temperatures and light breezes. I chose to sit outside, with nothing to do. I could not focus, for the life of me, on the book I had brought for myself to read. The sunset views from the golf and tennis facilities totally captivated my imagination. You can feel the history here. Those short hours spent in the evening breeze took me back to a most unique frame of mind. One can almost taste the nuclear ambitions of a 1950's America at The Phoenician, where even today, at the crossroads of opulence & comfort, the tastefully landscaped grounds offer any visitor an enriching experience.

I used to work here 20 years ago when it was considered one of the best resorts in the world. I understand that 20 years in Arizona is plenty of time run a property down. Not that this property is run down, it simply is far from as nice as it was when I worked there. There were burnt out lights in my room, the thermostat was from the 60's and I saw several pieces of trash around the property. The room I stayed in is in desperate need of remodeling and air freshener. In addition to the various run down areas I noticed, the customer service was below my expectations. I walked by several team members that never even acknowledged me. This was a fireable offense when I worked there. I love this property and enjoyed my time working there, but was disappointed with the condition and service of the property.

Visited for 2 nights for a conference. The hotel itself is nothing amazing to look at, but the rooms themselves are very generous — very large and huge bathrooms. Shower amazing. Bar staff good, but as you'd expect, hotel prices of $8-10 for a beer. Conference catering very average during the day, but stepped up massively for an evening function — steaks, mac n cheese, good desserts. I've no idea what the room rates are, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are all kinds of resort fees thrown in. Wi-Fi would have been $25 for 2 days — thankfully included in my room rate. T-Mobile coverage in the room was strong.

Location is surreal, surrounded by picturesque views of sand and cacti. The staff was very attentive and accommodating, and the catering for the event I attended was nothing short of gourmet. The roo. S are clean and modern. I highly recommend this venue for both professional events and overnight stays.

The Phoenician is a great resort located right up against Camelbaxk mountain. It has amazing views in all directions. It is clean and the staff are courteous and professional. They gave my nieces free stuffed Phopho bunnies, which was very sweet. The food is quite good and the rooms are very nice.

Beautiful hotel, for sure, but their new policy for parking is really cheap. I live in phoenix and have been coming for cocktails and/or dinner to the resort for 25 years, $10 for 2 hours valet, $ 3 for 2 hours for self parking, what do think this is Manhattan? Just a way to suck every last cent out of your customers. This used to be a classy hotel, but the stupid decisions of management really ruins the experience. Time to change to other resorts in town that have still kept their class. Really bad!

First class course. Had a great time on the canyons course, oasis was a different challenge altogether. Had a great time.

This is our second stay in this hotel. Last time we experience some service issues, but decided to overlook it because we liked the spaciousness of the room and the access to bikes, which we used frequently on the last trip. Though it was always a crapshoot as to whether someone would be there to rent them to us, and that caused some consternation. This trip we were supposedly upgraded to a Villa, which upon inspection seem like a downgrade from the room we had originally booked. The room was smaller, on a road, wasn't really as clean as we would like. The bathroom fixtures were dusty, the duvet was dirty, the windows were dirty, and there were cracks in the vanity sink (a big chunk of it missing and rebar showing through). Since our arrival there has been a piece of furniture sitting on its side outside at the entry. Plus room service glasses that sat outside for more than 24 hours after our neighbor put them outside — and long after the room had even serviced for the next guest, who also remarked on the mess outside his even more expensive, larger suite. We were in a line 10 people deep at check-in, while they had only two staff members there to check everyone in at peak check in time. When we went to get coffee at the golf Café, it was staffed by one person who took 10 minutes to make our coffees, and then disappeared for five minutes as the line grew. It was clearly understaffed and she was under skilled.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, course was in great shape. Would certainly golf here again. The only negative is the price of drinks, hope you're wallet is full if you're wanting to have a drink or two…
