We stay here every year for our grandson’s birthday. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the pool area is fantastic. We’ve never been disappointed!

It’s like being at the beach without the beach. Great indoors and outdoor spaces. Live music, bars, multiple food options onsite. Walking distance to a massive splash pad and playground. Husband had multiple golf options as well. Us girls got tea bombs at uptown nutrition and then hit the local target and mall. Overall great value close to home.

Always stay here when we come to Florence. Love their restaurant, bar and pool! The fireworks off our balcony where fantastic last night. Wonderful place to celebrate 4th of July!

Horrible beds and pillows. High price for low grade rooms. The 360 restaurant was the best part but don’t stay at the hotel unless you have kids, don’t care about noise, and smoke smell.

As we entered the hotel, we we greeted by the front desk staff Jeremy and his coworker. They were simply Fantastic! The other staff we encountered were friendly, professional and helpful throughout our stay. Swampers breakfast buffet was superb along with our waitress and chefs. We had a grand time and look forward to returning soon!

The best place for a family stay, a romantic get away, or just to relax. Staff is super friendly everywhere, room service will bring you anything from a microwave to a cot at no extra charge, and every single person with the exception of the night shift manager that was there July 24th not understanding how credit cards work, it was a phenomenal weekend and experience. Everything you need without having to leave the property. Live music, bar, restaurant, coffee shop, spa, salon, indoor and outdoor swimming, fitness room, arcade, and gift shop.

The experience was top notch! We had to switch rooms because of an ant problem and they took care of it right away! Great customer satisfaction! The rooms were really nice and a beautiful atmosphere! Would def stay there again although it’s a little pricey!

This place was absolutely AMAZING! I WOULD PREFER COMING HERE OVER ANY RESORT! I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed relaxing by the pool and great food. Everything was so convenient and I will be going again very soon. I’ve been to many places and been on many vacations and by far this is one of my FAVORITES! ❤️❤️❤️

We stayed jun 3rd 2020 and left early because of the management. We had people throwing things off their balcony and biting ours. First it was an ashtray, then a milk jug… I called and they did nothing. We enjoy sitting outside but our balcony was littered with ashes! Management did nothing! When they threw the third item off I looked and it was a grown man! I let them know, they still did nothing! I will never stay here again!

I spent a day at the Spa and it was absolutely wonderful! All of the ladies there were extremely nice. The atmosphere was fabulous. Clean and elegant. The products they use smell great. It was so relaxing. Highly recommend!

This place is a joke. 1 year anniversary getaway turned out to be the worst experience ever. From bartenders to room service and that horrible 360 grill. I'll never ever spend any money there. Still waiting on my all inclusive strawberries and wine. How ridiculous. I recommend this place to no one. Not even my worst enemy.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. Staff was friendly, room was clean and grounds were beautiful. Balcony facing the dam and river was very nice. I didn't love the feather pillows on the bed. With four pillows on the bed, it would be nice to have more than one option. Would recommend requesting a room on the outer ends of the hotel. Our room was right above the pool area and it was crowded and loud until it closed for the night…

I have only been there for dinner or drinks and listening to music. It's a nice place to relax and listen to music. Every act that I have seen there has been good. Service is good and the food is good.

I've been twice to the spa and it has blown my mind each time! So nice and luxurious. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Marsha has been my masseuse both times and she is perfect! Highly recommend. I will never go to anywhere else for a massage! I genuinely can't say enough about this place.

Go visit and check out how beautiful the hotel is. It's a little exspendsive but worth it. If you have children you'll love the water splash area. I went to the safe place luncheon. It was so moving. I don't think after one of the speakers told her story, there was a dry eye. They raised 55, 000.00. What a blessing.

We needed a little vaction away from home and this place was prefect. Not to far away from where we live in Mississippi. First off the spa area is amazing and the couples massage was great. The staff at the hotel was very accommodating as well. Changed rooms because we had two twins and wanted a king. So that was very nice of them. They have an amazing pool area as well for adults and kids. Also they have two restaurants attached to the hotel so if you want you never have to leave the place. Also for the kids they have a game room, and splash pad. So if we do go back and take our kids I know they will have a great time. Last they have the 360 grill up top that csn rotated around so you can view the entire area. Very romantic place for a couples date.

The shower was not cleaned and very obvious as soon as you opened the shower door. We were also continually hassled at the pool area. There was only one other family out at the pool so my best guess is the guy watching the pool had nothing else to do but constantly stay on our case about absolutely nothing. It became such an issue that my 10 year old girls would no longer get in the pool and we left the hotel earlier than planned.

A hidden gem in North Alabama. This luxury hotel is located right on the river with all the amenities you could imagine including a couple great restaraunts on sight.

A wonderful Hotel, with tremendous amenities. Fabulous food options and the on campus activities are great. The Robert Trent Jones Shoals Golf Courses are a short drive away. Marriott Conference Center is a short walk away. And is the current Campus of "Church of the Highlands Shoals". A tremendously Blessed Church with multiple Campuses across the State of Alabama. Florence is a growing City, and lots of restaurants and activities. Marriott is the Gem of the Quad Cities.

We ate at the 360 grill. The food was good, but I felt there could be more options on the menu. All in all it was a great atmosphere. I enjoyed my time there. Don't forget to bring your wallet.

Excellent hotel! Well appointed with an exceptionally friendly staff. The food at Swampers is incredible and the drinks pack a punch. My wife and I stayed for a quick weekend trip and plan on coming back for a real vacation. The view of the Tennessee river is a sight to see. The pool looks like a lot of fun with waterfalls and a bar on the patio. We didn't get a chance to play at the pool, but that's one of the reasons we want to visit again! Super clean rooms, great fitness center, excellent cuisine and centrally located to area attractions. If you find the shoals area of Alabama as an approaching destination, treat yourself right and stay at the Shoals Marriott.

We stayed here while visiting family/friends for a funeral. It wasn't quite what I expected but we didn't get to enjoy all the amenities. The hotel offers live entertainment, good food and the pool, although empty during our visit, was quite large with plenty of space to enjoy the pool relaxed away from others if you'd like. My only complaints were the beds could be more comfortable, Pillows need great improvement (still have a neck pain a week later) and the toilets are slow to flush. We worried ours would overflow. We did report the issue and they were going to pass it on to facility maintenance. We had no desire to change rooms as we were exhausted when we finally returned to our room after dealing with funeral arrangements, services etc. I would however stay again if needed and bring my own pillows.

If you have to stay in this area and are looking for the best option, you have found it. A lot of great memories here. The pool and restaurant are both top notch. Service is outstanding.

Beautiful rooms accompanied by great service. Lounge and restaurant are cozy with great service as usual. I'm from Canada and people say where polite I would say this hotel and people in the town are even more polite. After this experience this would be one of my "I would move to places"

Had really nice waitress, food was better than a lot of reviews suggest. We had steaks and they were good and cooked just the way we asked. Yes the view and experience is part of the bill and worth it. My favorite part was each course wasn't crammed on the table one right after another like every other restraunt around here.

Very nice hotel, well maintained, comfortable rooms and common spaces, including the very nice Spa. It has a very nice, cozy bar and grill, "Swampers" with lots of jazz/blues memorabilia, and also, a more formal restaurant "360 Grill", high up in an adjoining tower which rotates, giving diners a panoramic view of Florence. The food and service in both restaurants is excellent, but the menu in the "360" is very limited, and although it is touted as a romantic dining option, it is a tad noisy and busy with servers moving back and forth around the narrow, rotating circumference. Also, no music, either canned or live. So it's worth trying once for the view, but I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner.

I took a terminally ill friend over to the area for a Steven Curtis Chapman concert and The Marriott treated us with the utmost grace and consideration. All things were top notch and what wasn't was provided just for the asking. The room, although called a "pool view" room, provided a nice view of the river damn, a beautiful background aound. The food was delicious. The indoor hot tub and pool and outdoor hot tub were great. The outdoor pool looked topnotch, although drained for the season. I hear the place is impeccable during the Christmas season. Hopefully a retuning visit is in order then, at which time I'll be able to experience the spa! (Hint! Hint! Santa! )

We were very impressed with the staff and view. Even though it was raining, it was beautiful. I ordered shrimp as an appetizer and had halibut and soup. I have to say I did not like the halibut but was just going to pay for it and be on my way. When the waiter noticed I had only taken a few bites, he asked if something was wrong. I politely said I just didn't like it. We went on and ordered dessert which was southern Alaskan bake I believe. It was delicious! When we received our bill, the manager had taken 20% off our bill and gave the dessert for free. I was totally surprised and grateful at their attentiveness to the situation. The waiter apologized probably 5 times, which was not anyone's fault that I did not like my meal. We tipped him 25 dollars and will definitely be back. I would recommend this reasteraunt.

360 grill was really cool. The restaurant moves or rotates a complete circle about once an hour. The food is really good but little expensive. The grill/ bar has professional level live musicians.

My husband and I spent 2 days here and loved it! We have already booked a second trip. The staff was amazing. We had one small glitch with our room, which was so minor I almost didn't mention it, but I did report it to the front desk. Guest Service Agent, Ja'nae, was beyond amazing. My husband and I left for dinner and upon arriving back a short time later, were blown away to discover a voucher on our desk for a complimentary breakfast buffet the following morning! Might I add, the buffet was delicious! Our guest room was beautifully appointed and had a gorgeous view of the dam/river and the pool area. ALL together it was a fabulous, if not a bit too short, trip. The spirit to serve was very obvious at this property and it was apparent that the team loved their jobs! 5 stars all the way. We are now guests for life. Thank you, Marriott Shoals Resort! You Rock!

Visited the conference center for Christmas service by Church of the Highlands. I was told most of the chorusmaster decor was done by the hotel, and it was really well done! Each time I visit the center is very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it for any businesses or organizations looking for a venue.

Came to Florence for the Christmas holidays. Greatful to see that Swampers was open for the holiday. I want to thank Briana, our bartender, for being so personable and providing us with an awesome experience. Sandy and Steve.

This is more for the restaurant, Swampers. The food was good, but really overpriced in my opinion. Not very much in the way of variety either. The atmosphere is nice, with the live music and all the local memorabilia on the walls. It has its charm. The server did get our bill wrong, but since we were part of a large social event, it was a bit more forgiveable. 4 stars.

Great breakfast buffet. Service is second to none. Full coffee pot (Not a small pot) brought to your table. Buffet is $17.00 per person and worth it.

Nice affordable hotel with history and some dated buildings. Great staff and pretty much a resort or conference place. Music theme oriented with good food and drink.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel, this was our second time to visit, as we like to celebrate our anniversary here, they go above and beyond to assure thier guest have a memorable stay, on this trip the power went out early hours of the morning and was off even as we left, the front desk clerk apologized several times and the Manager comped our breakfast asking us to please come back next year, We assured her that we would and that we appreciated the hospitality that we were given, Kudos to the Marriott staff and managers that handled the power outage and guest with top notch customer service… Thanks again, Richard and Vickie Burks.

We stayed here as evacuees from hurricane Irma, there we're not many places available and this place looked nice and out of the way of the storm. We had an amazing experience in every way. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the service was absolutely fantastic. Knowing the situation we we're in the hotel staff went far above and beyond than anything we could ever have expected. I would recommend anyone stay here. Easy 5 stars.

Only rating this five stars where it will be seen. I booked two rooms with two queen sized beds almost three weeks in advanced… I went to check in and they told me they had rented out my rooms and that they were completely booked up. I absolutely do not know how that works, it was completely ridiculous. Terrible experience.

Fantastic place! The rooms are very nice and the staff is wonderful. The balconies with views of the river are especially nice. My only complaint is that there are too few TV channels and no microwave in the room (There is a mini fridge, though. ) My breakfast I ordered the night before was delivered on time and was very good. Can't ask for much more!

Just came for breakfast/brunch after struggling to find a brunch spot in town. They offered me a "brunch" buffet which was all lunch foods plus an omelette station. I guess the omelette station was so they could add the "b" to lunch. So I just asked the server for eggs and sausage which they did. Service was fine but selection was lacking. Would give 5 stars if the brunch buffet offered more breakfast options other than just an omelette station. *Note: this review is for brunch only. I did not stay overnight at the hotel.

Its a gorgeous hotel! The staff were all very polite and the rooms are spacious. The balcony provide plenty of space to relax in the privacy of your room. Would definitely recommend!

Memphis friends… We stayed in the Sam Phillips Suite. Beautiful room that touched my Memphis heart :) The juke box in the dining room was packed with music recorded at Sun! I couldn't stop listening! The room had a tremendous view of the Tennessee River and dam. The Swampers were cranking out excellent music and food. Our server, Cassidy, was the sweetest girl! The mattress was so comfortable and we were pleased to find that they sell them. It was nice to sleep so well!

I enjoy staying at this hotel. The rooms are elegant. The breakfast buffet has a great variety of real Southern food and friendly service. The pool and slide are great for kids. I think all the rooms have a great view.

The drinks were fine, and the musician was great while he was playing. He didn't play but a couple songs at a time though and then would go take a long break. The atmosphere was not what it usually is. The wait staff was more attentive which was a nice change.

The hotel may be great. I didn't stay there. We ate at the 360 degree restaurant. Food was awful, service was worse. If you're going for a meal just understand you'll be paying a good bit of money for the experience and a burnt piece of meat. Go for drinks or dessert. The view is spectacular!

The Marriot hosted a lunch for a group of students and teachers I work with. They provided a tour as well. The experience was absolutely the best. Everyone was so kind and respectful. The event was flawless. Our students were treated like royalty. The Marriot of the Shoals is amazing! Jim Edwards and his team were outstanding!

My friends and I had a reunion and we chose to stay at the Marriott for convenience and the use of the pool. We had a room on the pool level which was awesome for quick trips back to the room. Brandon at the pool took great care of us all day and even into the night!

Very clean and quiet, very nice hotel. Great restaurants, the breakfast was superb, I like the 360 Grill but it is really not my thing, I guess I am too much of a rube. The food was good but I am not crazy about paying $150 for dinner for two. The wife was happy so I am happy. The Marriott has really nice beds and pillows. It is pet friendly in case you want to bring your canids.

Nice accommodations. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are okay, but it appeared the linens may not have been changed on one of the beds (2queens, one had hair when I pulled the covers back). The location is great. The overview of the river is nice. The dinner was good. Breakfast was okay. The eggs were runny, but the grits were great! Overall, quiet and relaxing. Was here for a retreat.

We had a room on the bottom floor and we also attended for a professional event and also attended the conference center and everything was great! Enjoyed our stay!

The Shoals Marriott is one of the best venues in town. It dismisses the expectations that typically come with a "Hotel conference venue" by offering incredibly friendly and attentive service, thoughtful use of space and great views of the Tennessee river. It's really a step above and almost everyone who visits agrees with me.

Absolutely wonderful customer service! Very clean rooms, and facilities. The Marriott of the Shoals is by far the nicest hotel in north Alabama. I have stayed on every floor, and the balcony view from any room is gorgeous! Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Enjoyed Christmas dinner at the Shoals Marriott. Service was generally good but perhaps the restaurant was short-staffed because some items took multiple requests.

As a local I have had several occasions to stay here. This property is miles above the quality of any other hotel in this area. There is a reason this is the top rated property in the entire Marriott chain! It is simply outstanding in every way.

Great location with views of the Tennessee reduced and TVA damn. Great service and room with shower and jacuzzi tub. Balcony also had view of pool that had a waterfall and fountains. The 360 restaurant had great 360 degree views of the local area. Excellent service.

Very good place to relax. Only down side was little "under construction" that was happening while I was staying. Will go again.

I shared a very relaxing weekend with my husband. The spa, where I experienced the spa's signature facial was absolutely amazing. Before and after the facial, I could take advantage of the whirlpool bath, steam room, and comfortable, fully equipped shower and dressing areas. The restaurants were delicious and fun. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable. We will be back soon.

We have been going to the property for 8 years or so. Mostly weekend family or couples get-away. For the most part the service has been great and the property has always been in great shape. We knew it was expensive but planned for it and had very high expectations. We have been to this property 4 times this summer with the last one being this last weekend. I must say that I can tell you for the biggest part the service was pretty decent with the exception of dinner on Sunday night at Swampers. The food quality was clearly lacking in quality and quantity, someone is really messing with the product probably in the name of cost control. For those prices, I would expect something pretty special. The worst was the service, we had to ask multiple times for both drinks and food items to be corrected and there seemed to be no sense of urgency to make things right. Worst experience we have had there… ever. All other staff were very responsive to us and helpful… pool bar, breakfast on monday, doormen, housekeeping, front desk… the pool attendant was nice but clearly pretty lazy (he would not be working for me). The property is starting to need some TLC. Exterior windows were a mess, pool chairs need to be cleaned badly, awnings on the building by the pool needs to be replaces, the hot tube was dirty and the timer was broken, key card lock did not work on the end of the building, etc. There were lots and lots of little things like that all over the place.

Perfect ambiance for a wide mixture of social interactions from business to first date to a gathering of great friends.

Hotel is very nice. Accommodations were great. Only reason not 5 stars were: restaurant was extremely over-priced, Not enough parking, Don't have enough carts to check out in a timely manner. Outdoor pool is situated in the shade most of the day so pool is cold, but kids had fun on the slide. Overall had a very nice time and hotel was clean and nice so would stay again.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our trip up to the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa this weekend. I had some business in the area, but wanted my family to join me for the trip. The hotel was first rate. The 360 Grille was amazing with the fantastic views, revolving restaurant and good cuisine. The hotel pool was a huge hit for our son. All of the staff members were extremely friendly. I highly recommend this hotel to any family looking for a nice getaway.

Amazing! One word. The room was nicely appointed and the linens were perfect. The reason I came was for the spa and was not disappointed. The locker room attendant was helpful about the spa. And things to do in the area. The exfoliating sugar scrub should be on everyone's list. Patrick, the massage therapist worked out 'kinks' in my neck and shoulders I had had for months. I feel like a new woman! Will return. Sooner rather than later.

Was just at the hotel for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. The staff is awesome. We were with a very large group and they handled us wonderfully. Layth, Kara, Chris were awesome waiting on us. David, Robby and Tom were awesome with us on the shuttle to restaurants, etc. These wonderful people made our stay very pleasant. Oh and they do have some live music in Swampers during the afternoons/evenings that play some awesome music. There were problems with the rooms, etc. The air conditioning SUCKS in this place. You cannot get your room to cool off. The Wi-Fi is horrible. You can get "free" but it works in your room only, even walking out to the balcony from the room will interrupt the connection. Our room had a problem with the shower. Apparently they knew about the issue as the part was supposed to arrive on Friday and didn't. We didn't check in until Saturday and they rented us the room anyway. The shower had no regulator so it was either VERY HOT or VERY COLD. They did offer to switch us to a different room but since the hotel was booked they wouldn't be able to until after they had people leave on Sunday or Monday. Too much trouble. Ended up getting some food comps. All in all we had a great time but that probably has more to do with our group than with where we stay. Not sure I would stay here on a return trip. Too expensive with the too few amenities you actually get.

This is our 3rd year here and it has been wonderful until this year. We always found this to be an excellent, upscale resort. We loved Swampers and we had great rooms with wonderful staff, room service, good pool, and many other very good amenities. This year staff were friendly, but forgetful of what we ordered for room service. Curtis and Layth were excellent with our luggage and with the breakfast buffet. We had made some requests to be completed before check-in. These were not done. We are non-smoking, but balcony of room had a dirty ashtray and discarded lighter that was never cleaned up the whole 3 nights and 4 days we were here. Just happened to be in our room for housekeeping one day and had to chase her down the hall because she did not replace the drinking glasses. The noise level with extremely loud music and outside movie from the pool area and in the hallways was unacceptable and non-ending even after calling in complaints. BOOM! POUND! BOOM! Reverberated in our room. We had to go in the hallway at one point to ask other peoples' children to stop running, knocking on doors, and yelling because no one else would. We felt that we were in some kind of hotel for screaming drunks and druggies with children. We were apologized to repeatedly, but none of this was stopped. If you want to get drunk, and listen to screaming loud music and other noises for 24/7, then this is the place for you. It was not a happy weekend for us.
