The queen room was nice. The staff was very welcoming. One thing that would need to be looked at is the water. It took the shower 20 minutes to warm up. If you are in a rush you will need to leave the water running long enough for it to heat up. Other than that nice experience.

Updated and changed to a double tree. Very nice redo of the hotel… Some wierd stuff like big lights hanging in front of the TV's in the bar. Staff is great but have stayed here twice and neither time they have had my room ready — once at 4:00 check in and second a 8:30 pm check in…

The hotel is very nice. It looks like it was newly renovated. It just changed names to Double Tree. Breakfast in the morning was good as well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel but we were really looking forward to the pool as it is mid summer. Pool is out of order! This was a real bummer when we have kids that were looking forward to swimming! Hotel has listed free breakfast. Not sure where this “free” breakfast was, as we paid $60 for 5 of us to eat. We will definitely find a different hotel next time!

Very nice building, although I did not spend the night, I attended the Alabama State VFW convention and I was very impressed. The facility was under instruction for improvement, but the area was blocked off in the available area in the lobby was clean and accessible. The front desk staff were very friendly and greeted me both entering the hotel and exiting the hotel.

This hotel has amazing rooms, and the best staff I have had the honor to be checking in by! Really one of the most impressive places I have stayed in. When the renovation is 100% done this place will be a must stay at!

Meeting rooms are reasonably arranged and functional. Hotel is being renovated so there are a number of issues associated with ongoing construction activities.

While the hotel was under construction during my business trip there I was treated well, rates were comparable to others in the area, and rooms were clean!

The staff is outstanding, even with a reservation mixup they took the time to make everything right. The two wonderful ladies at the desk remembered my first name from last year even though my reservation wasn't in my full name.

No fridge or microwave in our room. Loud Construction early in the morning. Housekeeping knocked loud on our door 4 times when we already had a 2pm late check out… No robes. No contact solution at front desk. Nice towels and toiletries tho. Bed and pillows super comfortable. Wish our sleep hadn't been disturbed so many times.

Construction in progress so if you can deal with some minor noise, then it's pretty much okay. The rooms have a slight odor. Not sure if it's deodorizer or just an old musty smell.

I have stayed here many times and I have never had any problems. The staff is always very friendly and the place is always very clean. The location is also very nice. There is anything you could want or need within a few miles. Definitely a great place to stay!

Good things first great staff. Warm and inviting front desk and Jessica was awesome. Overall this place is dated and need some serious renovation unless they got plans to call this a vintage dated collection. One of the poorly maintained hiltons in terms of new furniture and fixtures. Rooms were good size. Tv and the channels suck and need some serious upgrade, they still run on standard def. Overall it was a good experience with nice staff. Will try it again but it might be a gem with some renovations and upgrades.

Bathtub drain would not seal allowing us to bath our 2 small children. Hardly any of the channels worked, and those that did work were not very clear. The bedding was very comfortable. The rooms were clean and well kept.

I've stayed here two years running and have been incredibly satisfied with each stay. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and work hard to accommodate us as guests. Definitely recommended!

Laurie at the front desk was AMAZING! We stayed there during Hurricane Irma and she was beyond kind, it completely took our stress away. She even gave us cat treats for our new rescued cat.

My family and I stayed here for a week. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. Traveling with two kids the experience was so relaxing. The staff never acted annoyed that we had kids. The pool was so very nice and relaxing. Gym was clean and had nice machines. We enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again.

It's a very clear hotel with a courteous staff. The lobby is very nice, but the actual rooms are a bit dated. As a business traveler with several devices to charge, I found the lack of outlets to be a bit annoying. There's also a bit of wear & tear visible on the bedding and curtains. The fitness center is well equipped with several machines and dumbells, but several of the treadmill were so squeaky and loud they were hard to use for any amount of time. Overall, it's a rather nice hotel in a convenient location.

This was the nastiest hotel I've ever seen. It was hot and no security for vehicles. YES! Got robbed. Someone broke into our vehicle and robbed us. Took valuables that can not be replaced, which made no sense. We had a bag full of money and left it. As far as this hotel. I would pay more for better security, cleanliness and air conditioning that actually works.

When we arrived everything looked great! However while getting ready to shower I found a bedbug. Brought it to the attention of the staff. They immediately switched out room for us and took care of breakfast for us which we appreciated. However we booked through a third party. The hotel charged us for the room as well as the third party now no-one is answering the phone at the hotel. I really hope that we didn't get bedbugs from staying there!

Clean hotel in safe area close to shopping at the Summit. Incredibly friendly staff! It's my "safe haven stop" when traveling through Birmingham.

Hilton has the best product in the hotel industry, hands down. So my expectations for this stay were very high. And for the most part my expectations were met. The room was exceptionally clean. The bed very comfortable. And it was quiet and restful. I would have liked the staff to be more welcoming or at least warm. The breakfast served the next morning was nothing to write home about either, and for $14 per person I expected a great deal more. Over all this is a nice hotel, but its not like other Hilton properties. It is a bit older, but I find that a poor excuse to let your guard down if your in the highly competitive hotel business.

A nice room and a great location. However, the amenities were pretty bare bones. No free internet or breakfast and the property is lacking a hot tub. At least some foam pillows would be a welcome addition to the rooms, along with a microwave and fridge.

My family (3 families total) and I just recently stayed at the Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park hotel. We called and reserved rooms at the hotel months in advance and booked 3 seperate rooms, all with King size beds. When we arrived at the hotel to check into our rooms they are all three rooms with two double beds in lieu of King size beds as requested. We informed the woman working behind the counter of the issue and her response was "my boss books the rooms, sorry". So we just left it alone for the time being and made due with what we were given. A couple of days later I sent Hilton an email regarding the issue and this is what I recieve in response: Thank you for contacting Hilton Guest Assistance. My name is Don. It will be my pleasure to assist with your experience at the Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park. It is my understanding that the hotel tries their best to honor every request made. Unfortunately, sometime the room types may become unavailable and the hotel would like to apologize for the inconvenience. Best Regards, Don Alain L. Specialist Hilton Guest Assistance I appreciate the apology but why even ask what beds you would like in your rooms if they are not guaranteed. If we would have called the same day I could understand but we called weeks in advance to reserve our rooms. It's not a huge issue but I feel like Hilton is just blowing us off and I feel they are better than that.

Nice staff and decent hotel. Only one elevator was working so that made for long waits with a 7 story hotel. Room wasn't cleaned the best… hairs and such everywhere. That one working elevator is sketchy at best.

I booked a 2 bed room for 3 people. The receptionist checked me in claiming the room was 2 king beds when in fact it was only 2 fulls. We were only given two towels on our first night. The next day our towels were taken but not replaced. 30 minutes after asking housekeeping for 3 towels with no response, we had to then call the front desk for 3 towels. They only brought up 2 and claimed they had no more towels. The towels were discolored and appeared to be the chlorine pool towels. Soap and shampoo were not replaced either. There is only one working (barely) elevator and they do not appear to plan on fixing the other one. The room is lacking outlets and are difficult to find. While walking around you will find numerous spots that have gone neglected such as water damage in ceilings, moldy grout, broken signs and other things. Avoid this place if you want to enjoy your stay.

The staff here were great, very polite, and more than accommodating. We are from the west coast where hotels in our area that are this pricey have more amenities. The beds here are doubles not queens, the pillows are very small, no refrigerator, and no hot tub. I love the hotel and the area, just a little pricey for what is offered would be the only draw back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and we would return should we ever return to Birmingham.

Hilton should be embarrassed to have its name out front. We booked 14 rooms for a business trip. They couldn't get that right. The night auditor that checked us in was unfriendly and unhelpful, the tables were never cleared and reset in the dining room making finding a clean table for breakfast difficult, TV signal went out on our second day and housekeeping well they can make a bed. If the staff was a little friendly and empathetic all of the above would be tolerable. But nope!

It was a standard nice room for our short stay. The area surrounding the hotel is easily accessible and we'll stocked with things to do and eat. The room itself could stand an update.

Good stay for one night. Not as upscale as we hoped. The rooms are nice but a bit outdated. There were no electrical outlets on the wall, but there was an industrial power strip next to the bed with the outlets we needed. It worked, but not exactly luxurious. Bathroom was small but clean and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Had plenty of pillows on the bed, but only 2 towels in the bathroom.

Great staff, breakfast is great make sure to ask for the unsweetened tea to go. Wifi has been some of the best I have experienced at a hotel. Will stay here again for business.

The hotel was okay until I saw our room. There were 3 of us in this room. We were supposed to have a handicap accessible room with a king size bed, since my mom only has one leg… there was a double bed in the room a regular bathtub in the bathroom and the hotel didn't have any chairs for the shower so that my mom could take a shower. … so she basically could not take a shower for 5 days. No one tried to help or accommodate our situation at all. First and last time traveling to Birmingham. Thank you Hilton for making our vacation unforgettable and stressful.

Horrible Experience at this Hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE! They overcharge customers. I checked in for 1 night and they have charged me for 5. Beaware.

Nice hotel and location with a nice fitness room, great bar and good parking. Also, the executive lounge, if you have access, is special. However, the rooms are dimly lit and my room over the last few stays has not been cleaned well. I hate to see other peoples hair in the bathroom.

First, the staff was outstanding. Never, in all my travels, have I had a nicer experience with hotel staff. Well done. Hotel itself was clean and adequate. The room was nice and no problems with noise. Bed was very comfortable but the pillows were too soft. Pillows are a very personal thing which is why I always bring my own. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant, while a touch pricey, was great. The chef did a walk through making sure everybody was happy. My only problem, which is the same problem I have with most "nicer" hotels, is the way they nickle and dime you over Wi-Fi. Charge $10 a day for internet that is slightly faster than dial-up. It's ridiculous. If a Super 8 can include free Wi-Fi there's no reason why an upper scale hotel can't.

Booked this hotel because I had an early international flight and they offered shuttle service and it is closer to the airport than my house. Called before I made the reservation online and made sure that I could stay at there property the night before my departure and take use the shuttle service to and from the airport, even though I am not spending the night there upon my return. I made the reservation online and called back to confirm what they told me and they put me on the list to drop me off at the airport and pick me up. I spoke with the Shuttle Bus driver on staff as well and he assured me it would not be a problem. I had this conversation again when I checked into the hotel and when I departed. As I was flying back in to BHM, I called the hotel to confirm my pick up and the Manager on Duty was extremely rude and difficult. She told me that she was "sorry", but they could not pick me up at the airport since I was not staying with them again that night. I told her about my previous conversations and she even saw that I was on the list for pick up, but said it was against hotel policy. She rudely told me that no one on staff would have told me that they could pick me up if I wasn't spending the night upon my return. (However, as I said I was on the list to be picked up and was put on that list by one of the staff members. ) Meanwhile, my car was at their hotel and I was STRANDED and the Birmingham airport! They refused to honor what they told me and pick me up.

The staff were mostly nice with a few exceptions. The charges were crazy. They charge for internet access (even though the website says it is free). They are not near anyplace worth eating, so the food is mediocre but outrageously priced ($15 for a burger that is Carls Jr quality). Twice I had concerns, but the staff could not help and the management didn't care. Overall — terrible location, over priced, mediocre food, lousy management.

Everything was nice in this hotel, but they charge for everything. After talking to one of the house maids in the hotel I find out they employ illegal immigrant without any documentation and take advantage of them. And there I was paying $10 dollars for internet while this people are making money of illegal. I need to know how to report this kind of illegal activities, I mean hilton is a big company, why they don't employ american citizen oooo yeah I think maybe because they are not cheap.
