Review of The Wilson Galata Hotel 2*

The service and manager of this hotel are helpful and attentive, the location and service are the main reasons we decided to stay. It’s more a deal for the location, right by galata tower, a lively touristic area, the room itself is basic and decent, not somewhere you’d be excited to go to or feel like staying in for long, the place looks nicer in the photos vs compared to reality, but the service is good. The beds are comfortable and they provide extra blankets, but they did forget to provide towels and unfortunately there were none available until the next day, but they were flexible with check out for us to manage to take a shower before we left. There also weren’t any water bottles in the room but if you ask they will provide you with a water bottle. (For those who are into minibar snacks, you’ll have to fill the fridge yourself) There was some molding on the ceiling, the design of the room was lacking, the bathroom essentials such as the shampoo, shower gel and soap they provide could be better, it’s that gel like stuff you might find at a gym, plus no other toiletry essentials you might need, such as conditioner, q-tips, cotton pads, shower cap, etc which are usually provided. The AC is strong and works just fine, as well as the water in the shower. There were some dead light bulbs they should replace. The lock of the bathroom was also a bit rusted. I’m also the type to walk around barefoot and the floor really should be mopped more often. We got the hotel at a good deal and at a good location, and service is always important. Small improvements and attention to details could improve the room itself.
