The staff are always friendly, the rooms are larger than most, the pools have been renewed and there are 4 to chose from. The beach is across the road, it close enough to Bangla Road but far enough away. I could go on but you have to try it yourself.

Super nice hotel, is very quiet and yet you are right at the action as soon as you have left the complex. Richsrum there are everywhere possibilities to make day trips. You can even book some in the hotel itself. Great service. Very nice grounds, very clean and great pools. Food is also delicious. Thumbs up 👍🏽

Second stay at The Patong Merlin. We were lucky enough to get a pool access room which was stunning. Cannot complain about anything good and drinks extremely reasonably cocktails were cheaper than the bars. Room was spacious and lovely to have a separate shower and bath. Perfect location and loved getting free mini bar items. Staff are amazing as always. Cannot wait to book again next year. Definitely recommend the patong merlin for your stay.

Lovely hotel stayed here a few times in the past, clean rooms, great variety at breakfast, great location, staff through the hotel are amazing, so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble 😎

We had a great stay at the Merlin Patong, service was great breakfast was included, they cooked me eggs every day and made green tea for me couldn't do enough. our room was great walked straight into the pool from the room. highly recommend would definitely stay again.

We spent an amazing three days. Great location. Really pleasant and clean rooms and four fantastic pools, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. We travelled with our eight year old daughter. We would HIGHLY recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The hotel is pretty nice some part needs to be updated, the breakfast is good, friendly staff, the kids and we love the pools. The location is great, it takes 3 minutes to walk to the beach from the last swimming pool. Have too say that the food & drinks are pretty expensive at the hotel. The worst part is all the towels on the sunbeds that people put out in the morning and doesn't use before midday.

First trip to Phuket July 2004, stayed at Patong Merlin, loved the service, friendly staff, the swimming pools and location, and very family friendly, although the kids club could do with an overhaul.
Been back to Phuket 8 times and stayed at the Patong Merlin 6 of those 8 visits, we were there last week and will stay there again, still great friendly staff and it amazes me the staff who actually remember us from previous visits, and they are genuinely happy to see you.
Food was great, iced cappuccino’s unbelievably good, beautiful gardens, rooms very comfy and clean.
Definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Good location very peaceful and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle but within walking distance to night clubs and markets. Love that the hotel has a back entrance that leads directly to the beach and when we had to check out at 6am to catch a flight, the hotel packed each of us a breakfast including a little paper bowl and cereal and a box milk in my sons pack. I just thought that was the most thoughtful service I had ever experienced at a hotel.

Just back from an amazing stay at patong merlin, I can not fault this hotel. The breakfast buffet was great, plenty of choice and variety. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, the staff could not do enough for us. The har staff during the day around the pool were fabulous. I have never been treated so well on holidays, so friendly and always smiling. The maids left our room spotless and were also extremely friendly. The hotel was beautiful. I can not fault this place and will 100% stay here again when back in phuket. Location was also perfect.

Lovely, clean comfortable hotel. Room and all areas spotlessly clean. Great location. All staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast included in stay and was excellent. Plenty of choice. Did not eat other meals in hotel but food looked good. Drinks in hotel were a bit pricey by the time tax and service charge added but happy hour cocktails were good value for money. Would stay again.

This hotel was very clean and modern, lovely views of one of the four pools from our balcony. Wifi was great down in the lobby but not great from our hotel room. Location was 5 minutes from the main busy streets in patong and the beach but also far enough not to hear any noise at night. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and our hotel taxi driver Bow was very helpful. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would return.

We have been to this Hotel 4 times now and just love it. Last 2 times, we asked for a particular room and got it both times. Staff are very friendly. We will be back again.

Awesome resort to stay. Food was good. Staff where very pleasant. Rooms where neat and comfortable and very clean. 4 swimming pools that where a great relief from the heat and its centrally located to everything in Patong. We loved it. 5 stars from me.

I've been staying here for well over 15yrs. From the moment you check in to checking out everything is exceptional from the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, food and the pools. House keeping ladies do a outstanding job. This time I brought my 4 month old boy and the ladies went out of their way to help us. Location of the hotel is the best for everything.

Just spent 2 weeks at Patong Merlin Hotel, close to everything. But far enough, from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are friendly and professional. The best place to relax after a long day shopping, or site-seeing was at the Sunset Bar, at the beach side of the resort. The meals were always delicious at the cafe next to the bar as well as the breakfasts every morning. Couldn't fault this Hotel, we will definitely go back next year.

Just stayed 10 nights 5th till 15th August, hotel a little run down, not quite what t h e web site shows. Room was ok but the bath room had mold all in the shower. That was room 3220. The pools and gardens are great and the location is good also, I would stay again but would like a clean bathroom.

I ve visited and Totally enjoyed this place many times For me and many of my friends who've visited and enjoyed this great place year after year It's like home away from home for me I'm always looking forward to return to The Patong Merlin.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone, the staff are amazing, the breakfast has a great selection and the rooms are very clean and modern. Four pools to choose from. This hotel is both suiatable for familys and couples. I have stayed at the Patong Merlin four times now from the age of 12 to now 25 and have had great experiences. If I had to fault anything it would only be that the Wi-Fi drops out from time to time also depending on where your room is situated for a good connection.

Best hotel ever stayed in. Great hotel for families, couples and partys. Lovely swimming pools and great pool bar. Fantastic breakfast a real choice. Been coming for the last 3 years and live it. Will come again. Staff you cant fault and rooms clean 10/10 brilliant.

Fourth stay in 10 years. Two weeks three times and one three week stay. Lovely Resort and perfectly located for beach and shopping and easy acess to other lovely — quieter — beaches. Biased because whole family love it too, but can't be beat for an NZ winter!

Great quiet and clean hotel located near the shops and the beach. The hotel's 4 swimming pools are more attractive than the beach. We did not benefit from the view of the pools, pity but only that vegetation that is lush. Little fright at the time of departure: they had let our suitcases without us for the airport…

Our room was next to an extremely loud hard rock cafe which had bands playing until 2am daily. Even with earplugs in you could still hear the songs almost as though you were in the bar. Wifi drops out every 5 minutes. When you get towels for the pool you have to keep a paper slip to return with the towels to avoid fee which was really annoying when you want to swim and worry about it getting wet or flying away in the wind. Check in process was slow. The swim up bar was almost never staffed. Positives are that there were 3 niceish pools, rooms were clean and beds comfy.

Everything great, you can recommend to anyone, whether family or Singel.

Excellent hotel very close to beach markets shopping and Bangla road. On arrival greeted by staff with cool cucumber towel and refreshing drink. Air conditioning fantastic in rooms. Breakfast has good variety. Good for couples and families.

Breakfast buffet is pretty average. Pools are really nice. Pillows in room not very comfortable. I prefer thin soft pillows. Had to do with the ones in the room. Toilet kept getting clogged. Shower pressure low.

The free breakfast buffet every morning was a good start to the day. Our room with the balcony straight out to the pool was an amazing way to go for a swim. Easy location to walk to the beach and markets/shops.

There are no Russian tourists, accordingly on the reception there is no russkuthe speaking personnel. The guide, meeting the Odeon tour operator, just didn't care about us. I asked, "Are you going on a tour? If so, I will come, if not, I once driving around on hotels! "The grounds are wonderful. 4 pools and everything in green.

The hotel was chosen for a very long time. We stopped at Patong Merlin. The rest was taken for 13 nights. Just breakfast. That's great. The rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfasts are great. That's enough. 3 pools of different depths daughter is happy. There are plenty of beds, too. There are a lot of restaurant shops near the hotel, there is a market. Caron Beach is a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride. The Russians were greeted at the hotel on the 6th day of our stay. Knowledge of English is necessary. In general, I advise everyone this hotel.

The standard rooms are not huge but are well appointed and clean. The 4 pools are excellent for lounging, the gardens are magnificent, the staff are so friendly & helpful and all the restaurants and facilities first class. Such a tranquil, relaxing place to stay, right on Patong beach. If there is any down side at all, it would be the (very) occasional street smells that waft in depending on the breeze. That however will be the case at any hotel/resort in heart of Patong. On the whole, very impressed with the whole facility.

This hotel is very good but noisy around it it's does good food there is entrainment but while we were there the sea was very brown otherwise very good.

Nice hotel, very nice and helpful staff, pool areas very large and beautiful. The rooms are spacious. On the other hand you have to leave a deposit of €150 per room because they do not take the imprint of the Blue Card (so to be expected). Ask for a room with pool view otherwise you might find yourself side street very busy with a rock Cafe next door with concert (very poorly insulated windows)

This hotel has a unique tropical set up right in the heart of Patong with four spacious swimming pools. The staff is very polite, courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. The sompteous buffet breakfast is fabulous. The evening outdoor buffet is fantastic with a different theme for each night of the week. The decor and the atmosphere is great. People can enjoy a cocktail or two at the bar next to the buffet area. The Cafe Del Mar Restaurant — Authentic Thai cuisine — is also a place not to be missed during a stay at this hotel. When making a reservation, request a room with pool view and with breakfast included. I thoroughly recommend this hotel in Patong.

Big Thai hotel, pretty much in the years. At the moment many Russians and especially Chinese in the house. Deluxe rooms are in good condition but right next to a bus station. Breakfast buffet as in a 2 * hotel, little choice and burned coffee. 3 pools in a beautiful garden However, the pools are badly refurbished. Central location in Patong, quiet at night anyway. On the beach it is quite noisy, many motor boats etc. But ideal for walking.

The hotel is very quiet but not the beach too crowded, sand is no longer too touristy white, outdoor dining especially Thai is excellent.

Nice clean rooms with good amenities. The pools are nice and we'll kept, pool side service is not pushy. Breakfasts are fairly good but not outstanding. Wi-Fi is atrocious with frequent disconnections making it almost unusable.

If I'm wrong they have a restaurant on the coast which is very good and the perfect service that has taken care of our baby so we are quiet lol again thanks to them!

The hotel is reasonably priced and well maintained. It could probably do with a refurb in the next couple of years. The food was average but the staff were very pleasant.

I was in Patong 20 years ago and I didn't recognize the place again. From the small resort has become the hotspot of Thailand. So who wants to experience what is right here. The hotel Merlin is a tranquil oasis with a tropical garden and 3 pools all well maintained in the middle of the city. All important destinations can be reached by foot. Breakfast varied the rooms nicely with pool view and planted balcony. So we had nothing to complain about. The friendliness of the Thais was most positively noticed, which in Germany is unfortunately very much missed by the people in the meantime.

I do not know why everyone is so praised by the hotel, you can see not resting in the best places. It so happened that we were given a room overlooking the road, it's for that kind of money. I did not even expect that there could be such a location at the hotel and did not even think to ask the tour operator. The floor of the hotel is by the road and the other part overlooks the pools. There is no view of the sea. Our unfortunate half suffers the noise of motorcycles and music from had rock cafes. They play there had rock naturally. Try to sleep. Even the noise is terrible when the windows are closed. The hotel is not new, but the rooms are not bad, ours was cramped. In short, all the photos did not correspond to reality. The pools are really good, beautiful. Breakfasts on a weak 4. Thanks for the birthday cake. Staff 5. For cleaning and maintenance. New Year's Eve in the restaurant do not advise to celebrate — heap of money for a sad event and buffet on 3. If I go again, I will know exactly where to take the room, in what part. In general, for such a price you can find a better hotel.

The Patong Merlin hotel is way overpriced for what it is! I stayed at the 5 star Marriot Merlin beach resort for a better price than here, so much nicer and pleasant. Flight Centre in Aus sent us here, lucky I did my own research and found the Marriot for the majority of our stay. I found the staff rude and the buffet dinner is a joke. Wifi is the worst I've had in Thailand. I suggest not to stay here as it's a waste of money and you'll find a much nicer place that's cheaper online.

The best is the garden area with the pool.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday where I stayed at the Patong Merlin, great hotel with very nice pools and very friendly staff. Room was very nice and clean and a comfy bed, Maids cleaned the room every day changed towels etc and where very friendly. Breakfast was great with lots to choose from. Also in a great location one end opens up on the busy markets, and the other end opens up on the lovely Patong beach. Not a bad word to say about the hotel 5* review for a 5* hotel. Hope to return ☀️

Amazing staff and terrific facilities. This is the best hotel to be close to action without the noise.

This hotel is 1st class, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned everyday and fresh towels are provided. Breakfast has a good choice the restaurant is very clean. I can't praise The Patong Merlin enough and if your thinking of staying here go for it, you will not be disappointed.

Terrible experience, firstly, Wi-Fi is always inconsistant and slow, neighbors are noisy as well as the pub next door throughout the night. The biggest problem was we were unaware at the end of our trip that we could not get our deposit back as it was "money to spend at the hotel" we were only made aware of this as we were leaving and could not get back our $200. Will be looking for something better next time.

Rooms are air conditioned and clean. Very comfortable beds. They have several pools.

We stayed here for 7 nights just recently and had a great stay. Staff were absolutely lovely and each time you walked passed one of them they had a big smile and always said hello.
Drinks there were a bit pricey (as most resorts are) which didn't bother us as we had drinks at bars in patong to enjoy the nightlife/ holiday.
Free buffet breakfast each morning which was great to stay each day!
All round a nice place to stay and relax in the pool highly recommend. We will be going back in the next 2 year's.

We visited Patong once again, this was my 4th trip and my partners 9th trip. However this was our first stay at Patong Merlin.
I have experienced an ongoing disappointment from the time of check in to check out.
* The check in took over 35 min, as no one knew what was going on.
* Our room was wrong we had two single beds
* There are no lifts and have to climb up approximately 3 flights of stairs every day, multiple times per day as we all know, you don't stay in your room for the entire trip.
* Towel hire for the pool.? Really?
* Deposit required of 1000baht per night. We arrived at 3am… no exchange open at that time. We did not know of this prior
* Banquet buffet. Worst Thai food ever… and over priced
* Aircon in room. Does not get cooled than 25degrees… very uncomfortable.
* Location of hotel extremely far from main attractions such as Bangla road… this is definitely not walking distance.
* Pool menu food was extremely disappointing. I ordered a lobster burger and I got deep fried crab meat pattie in a bun.
* Housekeeping hygiene, leaves a lot to be desired. The same sponge was used to wash my toilet and then my hand a son sink. I sanitised this when she left…
* Requested and booked main pool view. Trees and towel check guy was our view…
* No lighting through the courtyards to walk to your room.
* No friendly staff upon greeting.

Good hotel! A little farther from Bangla Road than I expected, but as soon as I witnessed the stuff happening there, I couldn't be more happier. Thank God we were only in Phuket for two nights, because any more than that and I would have went crazy. To each their own, I suppose. The breakfast was quite good and the rooms were comfortable. If I ever end up in Phuket again (I hope not) I'd probably stay here again. Good value for money.

Stayed here over Christmas. It was a lovely hotel, with great staff and rooms. Very clean and spacious, and we were even given an assortment of sweets on Christmas Eve which I felt was very sweet. Staff helped us when room keys were locked inside and made us a lunch (although not to my taste, but again, very sweet) when we had early trips. Breakfast was lovely with a huge range of food, as was the room service. Located right on Patong beach it was easy to relax, travel to popular shopping areas and can grab a tuk tuk to Bangla road for 200 baht.

Power off several times and bad stuff.

Facilities were good but power cut out about 5 times over 2 nights. Wi-Fi never worked. Staff continually lied and gave false promises about it being fixed. Very few spoke English. Shower was broken and they double booked a room as well. This hotel really needs some work as well as some education on good customer service. Unacceptable for a hotel resort like this.

We stayed here Christmas 2015 and New Year into 2016. Although Patong Beach is probably busier than we wanted the peace and tranquility at The Patong Merlin Hotel was great. The staff were on the whole very friendly and attentive and the choice of pools was brilliant. We never had a problem finding a space around any of the 4 pools. If you stay here over New Year then you are in for a treat because the hotel put on a show and food display that was awesome!

Stayed for 3 nights in room 1229 as it was booked in our tour package. Here are the highlights of Good and Bad about this hotel. Good: Pools & Spa Location Restaurant Bad: Room size and furniture is pretty average. Bed was really HARD Room AC temperature control is not inside room, We were being told by the staff that they can not fix room temperature as 3 room has 1 combined control externally. The Wi-Fi wasn't working as they didn't bother to fix it during our 3 nights stay and staff gave us fake promises every time. Room was full of mosquitoes, and seen lizards in side room. Reported to staff but all in vain. Run out of water during shower and have to make call every morning for same problem. All above good and bad are written fairly and with honesty so, If you can live with all above good & bad than give it a try.

I was actually quite happy, but only because I paid a special cheap price!
Would I have to pay the normal catalogue price, I would have been certainly not so satisfied!
The Patong Merlin hotel for me but do not match, the specified hotel classification!
This st the pool and garden area but real dream.

This hotel is very little Russian. We have been 11 days and have only seen 2 pairs. The sea is close, across the road. Ebbs not. About the cleanliness of the beach and the sea opinion is very subjective, but I have a bar at this hotel was not. But I must say that bustling beach, Patong still, water technique, boats, people. Waves, finally. In General, it's not bounty. The nightlife at hand — do not go anywhere. But, despite the fact that the city is noisy at night — silence. Breakfasts in my opinion, on the level, but do not forget that it is not Turkey. Rooms with air-conditioner. Ice let God. Cleaned every day. Change everything you can. The interior of the rooms simple. Service level. When we arrived, mini bar not enough bottles, as always. We went to the reception and during the day everything was in place. Nothing is attributed to excess. The hotel has 3 swimming pools. All the lush tropical trees, so not seen the other pools and creates a feeling of privacy as possible. Sunbeds all missing.
