Pros : 10 minutes walk from the beach, owner is friendly. Cons : Not well maintained. Smell of stagnant water in the bathroom, lot of black / yellow / red marks. Indeed the bathroom is old and humid. It is not cleaned. There was dried blood and pee marks on the toilet bowl… Yellow and black dirty marks in the sheets (after we asked they changed them but there was still black marks) … The mosquito net is only for decoration as it does not fit the bed but there are a lot of mosquitoes as the air-con does not work well. So not really useful. It was the orchid room. The door/window was broken so we were unable to let our clothes dry outside. Yes, this is a guesthouse and not a two stars hotel but the cleanliness is not only in hotels (I had the remark that this is not a five stars hotel, and so? I slept in many other guesthouse and there weren't any blood or pee marks on the toilets). This is not a review to be mean. This is just the truth. We appreciated the owner and his availability and we have nothing against him. We only had problems with the cleanliness and the room equipment. 10% price off if you leave a positive comment on tripadvisor.

I stayed at Elcidium Boutique in total for about a month and a half. I absolutely love this place. It is a short 8 min walk to Kata beach. The location is absolutely awesome; walking distance to whatever you need. The rooms are big with high ceilings, large beds, mini fridge, kettle and balcony; coffee and water are also included. Wi-Fi is super strong here and for someone like me who works online this is a MUST for accommodations. Richard makes sure everything runs smoothly and is a super nice guy; he will make sure that you have anything that you need, just ask him :) The massage downstairs is pretty awesome too! I am planning to be back there soon! Definitely a place worth staying at while visiting Kata.
