Poor value, old, nice staff. Our room had a view of sorts over the town and was 650 baht including breakfast. We stayed 1 night. However I thought this was poor value for money compared to other hotels we have stayed in. The hotel is very tired looking. The windows leaked and whistled in the storm we had overnight and this impacted on the wallpaper. The a/c worked ok but was very old and built into the room and seemed to suddenly get noisy then go quiet. The shower needed a good 3 minutes to run before it worked at a good pressure and the temperature adjustment worked correctly. The shower was over a bath. Housekeeping was good all round. Breakfast was aimed at Thais naturally but there was toast and marmalade and weak coffee, fried eggs that were cold and cold ham cuts that were warm! The rice soup did not impress but the vegetable soup was nice. The orange juice was powdered I think and tasted like those packs of rehydration salts you can buy when ill. Yuk. The staff were very nice and many spoke good English. The internet did not work until the morning despite several attempts to mend it by reception staff. Position wise this is as good as any hotels probably. If you don't have a car there are only taxis to get about… no motorbike taxis and no Tuk Tuk. But we did see bicycle rickshaws the following morning… they don't operate at night I guess for safety reasons. The hotel is very near street food vendors though and does have a restaurant, although we did not try it.
