Haven't stayed in the rooms but did have dinner there.
It was alright. I had the shiskabob and it was big and cooked right. Tasted pretty good, 220 baht. Took about 12 minutes.
Also ordered the Thai vegetables with rice, took about 25 minutes to arrive. I was completely done with my shiskabob when it arrived for my wife😴😥 How that happened, I HAVE NO IDEA!
Lets see, oh then the fried chicken wings finally came out about 35 minutes after ordering them. We were completely done with all of our food at that point, just my 6 year old daughter, waiting for her wings.
NO APOLOGIES from staff, just typical Thai servive❤️😬
Like this is completely normal at AVATARA.
OH and you can bring your own beer and wine, but champagne, 300 baht corkage fee😩
The location is good its a nice place for dinner on the sand, the cake desserts were good, but service is horrendous. Typical of most Thai places the tack RESORT on the end of their hotel name or try to make their name sound like another respectable hotel here, ANANTARA,

As like many resorts in Thailand — this place lacks a regular maintenance program.
Clearly this place had a vast amount of money spent on it a few years ago and now starting to look unloved in places.
The staff are nice and friendly and willing to help.
Breakfast is buffet style on the beach so expect a few bugs!

Nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Prices correct. Lovely staff, attentive and very kind.
The breakfast buffet can be improved in comparison with other hotels on the island.

Just tried to book for 3 nights after the 7th time of trying to call, hotel staff finally picked up the phone, found out I was English and put the phone down with 3 seconds. Tried calling back and they did not pick. Their loss will choose another hotel to stay in disgraceful service.

Absolutely bad first impression, not feel welcome since we aren’t staying yet… this said about manythings about this resort.

Nice and polite staff. The beach is litteraly across the road. The food in the restaurant is abit more exspensive than what you usually get at other restaurants nearby. But the food is good. The cleaning of the rooms very is well done. But it would be nice to know exactly when they clean. Sometimes its 10:00 sometimes its 12:00.

Sweet Resort right at the beach. The staff is very nice and the rooms are cozy and stylish. A good view from there is missing but well:)

The hotel fine. Rooms are clean and modern, well the one I stayed in was. There is no pool, the perfect beach is only a short walk and across the road from the hotel. For its star rating and price I would have no problem staying here again.

This was a great hotel. The rooms were quite posh. A little bit of a hike up to the rooms but manageable unless you have mobility issues. The staff were very friendly. The free breakfasts were amazing. Nice location with the restaurant right on the white sand beach. No beach chairs, but some to be had a minutes walk down the beach.

The beach is full with the restaurant, no sunbeds on the beach. To the left of the restaurant are all ancient defects, hidden couches. The breakfast is really good so you can't whine. The rooms are nice, the view if there is any at all on the giant construction site. The management is not comprehensible in case of complaints and lies directly in the face. Prefer to book next to there it is cheaper first and all are friendly. For me once and never again.

Yery modern and stylish rooms. A bit to walk from beach but not much 100 meter. Restaurant and breakfast direct at beach. Aftet first stay booked it again for some days.

Amazing place. Lovely resort. Breakfast in the beach is simply amazing. Get a speedboat as it drops you off on the beach. Rooms are unique and fun. Rooms are a good size. Plenty of food and drink options nearby.

For the price I expected way more than I got. The room was not clean and the shower didn't even work properly. The AC is also isanely loud, it sounds like a jet engine and was impossible to have on during the night even on the lowest setting. There are a thousand stairs to climb so if your knees are bad forget about it. This place was probably worth the price when it was new but it's getting run down fast and I expect the only people who will think this is "luxury" is Russians with low standards. That's why the hotel is taken over by them. No offense to you nice Russian people but god damn Koh Samet is full of rude ones. Look elsewhere because you will find cheaper, better and more modern facilities for a fraction of the price.

Beautiful Rooms! Very clean and friendly staff. The hotel is located just steps from the beach and the complimentary breakfast is located at the restaurant located on the beach. The staff was attentive to our needs and assisted us with booking tours.

The room was very clean and comfortable.

Very friendly and helpful stuff… nice beach front, good food good breakfast. Right bedside the resort they are chair rental for 60-70 Thai bath a day and a 5 minutes walk to saikeaw beach.

I came back after a year because the structure, I liked it a lot, maybe for bad luck, I stumbled into a room with serious problems of humidity and a strong smell of mold, a problem with shower drain not fixed in 4 days, the housekeeping leaves to be desired.

Correct in appearance but the management & customer service needs to improve. No paper toilet in the bedroom, the battery of Tv remote control are not replaced, rather than puting towels in the bathroom the maid place them in the bedroom… In addition when asking the management to book a taxi to go back to Bangkok we are told to book ourselves from Banphe (even not a phone number is given). The situation was the same for the jetski. At last, the rooms are far from the beach, the building is big and impersonal and I had the impression to bother the F&B team for each thing that we ordered.

At the best beach in Samet, no beach chairs, OK rooms and great breakfast.

Clean new rooms. Rooms are relatively far from main road or beaches but restaurant is right by the beach. Strong Wi-Fi.

Cool bathroom! Excellent breakfast. A good, active beach. The hotel is still being built. It's really hard to get up to a roller coaster, and you need a great effort to climb the floor.

Brand new resort in the middle of the jungle and a great beach in front of the door with good restaurant. However, half still construction site.

Nice rooms, but no seaviews.

The rooms are excellent. Fancy plus windows in the bathroom. What kuhnjavkusnee that hole I haven't eaten anywhere yet? Very recommend.
