Jomtien is far more family friendly than Pattaya. The beaches are much better and there are many dining options.

Better beach than the one in Pattaya. Lots of good options for food as well. More family friendly. Not too far from Pattaya either if you want to go see nightlife. Took about 15 mins by motorbike.

My family and I come here from Bangkok because it's fast and convenient. It's more "family friendly" than Pattaya Beach, but there is still a bit of a party scene at the north end if that's what you want. There are designated swimming areas where the jet skis can't go, but the beach is so long that the further you move south, the less boat traffic you'll encounter. Of course, you'll encounter less restaurants and tourist conveniences, too. The sand is relatively coarse and the water isn't the cleanest in Thailand, but the prices are pretty good on Jomtien Beach. It's perfectly fine for a long weekend away from Bangkok but if world-class beaches are what you're looking for, I'd consider finding better sand and cleaner water elsewhere in Thailand.

The only beach in Pattaya where you can normally relax on the "Beach"

Hotel high-rise (housing silo) with well-kept outside complex, very nice Pool (there are 2 pool areas, one of which is for VIP guests) and nice rooms. At least from my room I had a wonderful view on the sea (even from the bathroom, I could look through a glass wall directly to the sea)
The beach on the other side of the road (road crossing by the security personnel secured) is not so nice, and only a very narrow strip (that was me, but known in advance)
I don't whether I'm in Moscow or Beijing knew, in the evening, the Asian neighbors are moving in with 3-4 buses and 100 people, then begin the next Morning at Breakfast the battle. Screaming with my whole body is here pushed everything on the plate, the main thing is it looks like in the pigsty, and according to it must be. After Breakfast, the battle goes in the Pool more then the beer bottles and vodka to replace the soldiers. It's a shame, but with such a large Residential facility, the room must be full, no matter what the cost. The whole of Jomtien is set to these guests, the Restaurants have replaced menus in English against Russian. Throughout the day, to the collection Tuk Tuk for little money to Pattaya City, late at night back, but it's difficult because there are no Tuk Tuk drive more. Surely I will make a vacation more.

Not very clean beach. The main drawback that greatly hinders the rest — a steady stream of annoying masseurs, sellers of points and drawing the tattoo.

For a relaxing day away from the hustle and Bussell of Pattaya head over the hill to Jomtein Get a chair for bugger all and sit all day drinking and eating What more. Like the Pattaya beach, Jomtien beach does not appeal the way Phuket and the nearby islands do.
