The hotel Owner is apparently poorly managed by the staff. Went to the Baobabu Old town to the center of the island and this is the second hotel, whose security was not allowed to pass through the hotel grounds to the public beach. Fat minus.

Stunning place! Well managed by the GM and his staff. Definitely a place to be while in Zanzibar. Service are impeccable and the resort is extremely tidy. Friendly, well trained and helpful staff. No matter about the beach view of the area. One of the most amazing location in Zanzibar. Do not miss it.

Not sure how to start decsribing this place. Everything was perfect! Everything. The best experience I have had at a hotel my entire life! Service was excellent, food was excellent, activities at the hotel were excellent, everything we needed was provided for. Very well pkeased.

Honeymoon spent here was out of this world. The staff were polite and helpful, really couldn't do enough for us both. Location and views were breath taking. The island has more history than you would imagine. Fully endorsed from the wife and myself. Saving for our return.

Hotel clean and Nice. The sandy beach is a dream and for me the best thing about this hotel. Staff very nice and accommodating. 5 star Hotel in Africa is not comparable with European 5 star hotels.
What really bothered me and why I would not recommend the hotel to anyone: on the day of departure we would have to check out at 12uhr although we asked several times for the room to be used up to our pickup transfer to 18h. Also for an extra charge. This request was not given much attention. We were dismissed with a smile on the grounds that all the rooms were full.
With all love, it's just rainy season and pours for days. I can't imagine the hotel being booked out.
Conclusion: Hotel very nice, food good but service at reception very poor and not very hospitable!

Excellent Resort located in the north of Zanzibar, about 1 hour and 10 from Stone Town, certainly one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, and one of the least affected of the phenomenon of the tide that penalizes many other beaches. Well-appointed homes with all comforts. Good location of the restaurants, to improve the quality of the food supply, certainly above the average of the country.

A very cool 5 starts hotel, located in a beautiful place near a white beach and a beautifum sea, the staff is very good and kind, I the eating room, there is a very big buffet, all the food is very tasty. The rooms are big and comfortable, the beds are very big, and the bathrooms are very clean and beautiful. In all the rooms there is a mini bar full of drinks and beer, and all that is free (at least for the blue bracelet). This hotel is great and worth the money.

Great place. Fantastic and beautiful location. When we arrived they said: Welcome to paradise. They warent lying.

In this hotel we are perfectly accommodated! The hotel management and the rest of the staff are very attentive and serve us with the highest quality. With many very sympathetic service employees you get into personal conversations very quickly. We always have fun and laugh a lot with them.
The food is very versatile and wonderful, tastefully situated at the Bufets. On Tuesday, an African dinner is offered outdoors, also at generous Bufets and cooking stations. For this you will be entertained with a show of Affrikanern with drums and dance. On Friday there is a gala dinner on the view terrace with all the trimmings, even with a dance music.
A blemish always gets on our nerves. It is a nationality that is very negatively noticeable. Some of these people repeatedly complain about the wording at the reception. Once a hotel manager resolutely had to intervene to protect her staff and clarify the rules of the game at the Baar and the pool. A big compliment to this woman! These Russians became a little less conspicuous after that, but they are still very unsympathetic to our guests.

The hotel is lovely! The kitchen in the hotel is excellent (the owner of the hotel Italian, one of the chefs of the Hindu) pasta cooked better than in Italy, rice and seafood for 5 +-the mind can be eaten! The day is different programs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is chic. Definitely recommend!

The room was like a villa with a Jacuzzi (where there was no need to climb) )
The room was clean and comfortable.
The room was clean, the breakfast was very good and the rooms were clean. Every day you have flowers spread and so on, what is not here.
The food here and in the diamond is almost the same. That there liked more spacious restaurant and on the street more pleasant to sit and TD. In Diimonde on the beach PICSA fruit is all open ice cream approach and take. Here in the bar only this week guessed to bring ice cream and so only in the lunch and evening of nuts biscuits and salads for an extra fee in the afternoon.
The kids took pasta with chicken both there and there.

We stayed at Hideaway for 6 nights at the end of August this year. It was one of the most amazing beach experience we've ever had. You will find a pristine white sandy beach on a low tide, with crystal clear water especially on a high tide, when the water rises until the edge of the cliffs and you basically have the hole ocean as your swimming pool. The sfaff is hardworking and very careful to its guests. All of the rooms have sea view, very clean and everything seemed to work. The food was very good and we loved that they also serve it on special themed african nights under the stars.

Luxury. Excellence. Personalized attention from beginning to end. They pick you up at the airport individually, the check-in is personalized, with explanations in English very slowly to be able to understand everything. You are lead to a room with a golf car… and you get to that big room, and with a lovely view of the sea so impressive that you stay speechless. Sun terrace, air conditioning, fan, bathroom great and with all the amenites. Waiters, gardeners, dancers, people of the area of the beach… all at your service, kind, loving, smiling, willing… absolutely wonderful. The best sunsets of the island. The best beach. There is nothing to complain about. Three days of genuine relaxation and happiness. Thank you for making the end of my vacation so wonderful. I'll be back and I highly recommend it.

Incredible beach! Great service and luxurious settings. The Carnivorous and Ishi Teppanyaki restaurants were both excellent. Staff were friendly… a special thank you to Chef Bimal who really looked after us.

Very fancy. A very high standard of facilities. Two problems tough: the first — No bath in the room. Second problem was there is no ATM and no way to draw cash if needed.

The hotel and facilities are very well taken care of, but the food leaves much to be desired and it seems that you have to come to prepare the room 3 times a day.

Superb place really good atmosphere and food. They mostly don't give you room before check in time so if you reach before 14:00 hours you can complete registration formalities and start enjoying the amenities. The beach is very clean and nice.

Not all the height of a 5-star hotel, let alone a Leading Hotel of the world. Using staff who are always looking for tips, especially in the pool area and the beach. Andrei in the other hotels on the same beach.

My experience at Hideaway of Nungwi Resort and Spa has been very disappointing. The reception hall is way below par for a resort that markets itself as 5-star. In +35 degree heat, not to have air conditioning or roof fans is just not acceptable. Furthermore, the lights are full of dead insects that is a sign of the rest of the maintenance and service on the resort. To round this off, the reception lounge is painted in purple, the color of death. It more resembles a funeral parlor than a reception of a prestigious resort. The resort manager is not accessible. No matter how much you demand to speak to him, the standard answer is that he is in a meeting, no matter what time of day it is. We picked this resort as it advertised sailing as a free watersport activity. To our dismay, there is only one catamaran of which the sail is "under repair". This has been the case for the past week and the standard answer every day is, "maybe tomorrow". This is a big disappointment to my kids that went sailing at another resort on the island we stayed at last week. Other than swimming in the sea, nothing is free, even on all inclusive package. The nearest snorkeling site is 45 minutes away and will cost you $50 per person. The dive site is advertised as a "sacred place" and the coral "spectacular". There is nothing sacred about the two diving spots we went to as it it swamped by fishing nets from local fishermen and boats trawling around you while snorkeling.

Fantastic staff and facilities.

Holy mackerel, that service. Totally pampers you up to make you feel like you're in a 5 star. The place is new and superbly well kept. The rooms are modernly remodeled and super clean. There's all these rumors about the beach so let me describe it fully. The hotel buildings themselves are up a cliff and elevated from the water. At the water, about 1/3 of the width of the hotel's waterfront area drops down to sea level and is accessible via stars while the other 2/3 is still on the cliff. During low tide, sand below the cliff is revealed making the beach extend the entire width of the hotel but that 2/3 is rather narrow and has no permanent fixtures. All the chairs and the beach bar is in the 1/3 of the waterfront that still has sand during high tide. The hotel and service is otherwise superb. Great food, super friendly staff and regular lively events. The travel agent could be better. He ended up buying a different flight ticket than what we agreed on causing issues with connections. The beach peddlers are semi-managed (they can't come too close to you) but still harass you near the water and can be aggressive/hostile if they don't make money off of you. Wi-Fi (both the free and premium paid) are unusable. Also book a ocean view room but got a room that has perhaps a 5% view of the water. Wasted the first night going back and forth changing our room.
