Good, new and clean hotel. Had a very nice and polite hotel staff. Breakfast provided extremely different from others, sure can’t find other hotel provide this type of breakfast menu.

As many have commented, great value for money, though the bed didn't feel comfy at first but surprising had a good sleep, and yeah, both the toilet and shower have see through windows which is screened by the curtain which many reviewers are less comfortable with, think the hotel can easily add a blind from inside. Water pressure from the shower head is amazing. Overall, a chic and trendy place to stay. The negatives are 1) noise insulation, can hear almost everything, but we did have considerate guests next door so not an issue. 2l no place to hang towels, and in the shower room, there is only one hanger which is virtually useless, not just the quantity of hanger, but the fact that is IN the shower room so even if ur able to hang your towel, smelly shirt and new shirt on the only hanger available inside the shower room, they will all be wet. 3) Wi-Fi is terrible… difficult to connect and after connected, the connection is ultra unstable.

I could not expect there are many guestrooms even in the basement. However, this hotel is pretty well-maintained and tidy. A little bit far from the Ximen station, but still in the centre of the commercial district. There are a couple of convenience stores and numerous restaurants near the hotel. Besides, there is a nice bar in the middle of the ground floor, too.

The room has no Windows, too small no place to swing caps, the library is there to go to the drains stink, the price should be halved before it is! Fortunately, location is also good, but the Breakfast fire 㶽 will not be able to eat more than once too!

Last time I lived were three late each night to find the road back to their own room, each layer is like a maze so.

It's close to the metro station. And you can take a little walk to somewhere that has shops and some food. The rooms on levels 2-5 are very old styled. Those levels look like many cargo ship crates. Some levels are a maze. The level b1 is nice because it does not look old styled and is not like cargo ship crates. The service at breakfast is not bad although it is basically getting your own food. Hotel PaPa Whale is not bad.

2. But the distance to MRT is still a little distance, the child is too small or is slightly inconvenient

Here is the feeling of youth vitality of the place ~ ~ Backpack Inn, a lot of South Korea beautiful young baa are here to haunt ~ ~ Breakfast European food is not surprising, the breakfast here is hot pot to eat! (Although many dishes are hot pot materials, skip these same can eat the full! ) Braised pork and rice is not bad ~ ~)

Excellent: 1. The hotel is beautiful 2. The hall can be read to rest 3. The rooms and the other parts of the hotel are basically clean and tidy 4. The toilet and the bathroom are separate 5. There are shopping centers nearby: 1. The room is very small, and can walk about 2. The sound insulation is 3. The bathrooms are small and have no racks 4. Breakfast of hot pot ingredients too little, chicken smell, after eating stomach discomfort 5. The Chair in the Reading room beside the hall is very dirty 6. At the same price, you can stay in Taipei for better and bigger restaurants.

Good hotel but tiny bathroom and very little functional.

This place has really cool style. Also each room is built in a shipping container. Good location.

I'm sorry to say this was my worst hotel experience so far. Not only does it have no windows in its rooms, something they very conveniently only add at the bottom of the page, but there is no wall between the bathroom and the room itself, just a fully transparent sliding glass door and a flimsy curtain, the room is so incredibly small only the bed fits in (no dresser, hell, not even our travel bags could be left open as they would. Completely block your way), the rooms are not that clean, they say they don't replace towels in a message on your desk because they're a green hotel and if you want to clean a towel, you could just wash it yourself in the sink in the bathroom, and last but not least, the AC cannot be controlled from your own room (only on or off) because they put it on the same temperature for the entire hotel so if you're cold, well that's that, "there's nothing we can do about it" said the lovely staff. My room was also in the basemenr, really gave it that nice prison atmosphere to boot. Breakfast was just hotpot at the restaurant next to it, same thing every single day. I would thereforr not recommend this hotel to anyone as I quite struggled with it myself and to be honest, it ruined the Taipei experience for me a bit.

Beautiful hotel, good service. Those staying at the hotel can get breakfast at the restaurant next door (hot pot style), also attached is a dessert cafe. Cleanliness of bathroom in rooms aren't the best but doable. Depending on your service staff, cleanliness of room varies but still decent comfortable for the price.

Room modest but clean, to live through 3 times, near ximen shopping district you can go shopping, the price fluctuation is large, the first with a stay at 1300 or so, the second 1500 but no Breakfast, had home to more than 2000, personally feel that 1500 of the price more reasonable, the CP value is high in a hotel.

This hotel has great rustic decoration and very good location. Overall it is very unique compared to other hotels in all of Taipei. Even in the lobby / reception area you can find tons of cool things to take pictures of. It also has a cool bar with awesome island decor. Even if you don't stay here, you should check this place out. It is walking distance from Ximen and Beimen MRT stations.

A quaint hotel tucked away at a corner of ximending. Kind staff and lovely antiques everywhere. Wished room service was more regular though.

Rustic feel added on to the wow level. The reception and common areas are already giving you the 'wow, nice feel'. There are many iconic items e. G. Telephone booth, coke cola fridge, etc. When you take the lift up to your floor, you are presented with container-like feel. Very special. And when you enter you room, wow level hit the max. My one double + single room is very spacious and high ceiling. Maybe it's the top floor. From entrance till the shower room, everything is very rustic and iconic. The softness of bed is ok. Not gonna add more photos as there are tonnes of photos of similar have been uploaded. Gonna come back again.

It's a big hotel with reasonable price. The basement floor look like a big carpark, there are at least 50+ guestrooms. It's not easy to find your room and properly get lost. It's interesting that there are some mirrors placed at the ceiling, so you will see yourself when you lay down. Glassdoor toilet and bathroom, the decoration look like a love hotel. It's only suit for couple.

Modern retro industrial interior design theme hotel with spacious lobby & dining area. Our room is cosy and value for money but it can be improved by the air circulation as there is smoke smell through the air-conditioning.

It's a vintage industrial style hotel with a great bar. Breakfast is hot pot which was a bit weird but it tastes ok though.

Very cool ambiance and lobby. Very hipstery bar with a large selection of craft beers on tap. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. Great customer service. It is also in a great location (10 minute walk to a central metro hub) and shopping district. On the other hand, the rooms in the basement have no windows and poor sound-proofing (could clearly hear people walking or talking outside the room). Our bathroom was also only separated by a glass pane and curtains, which dome may not be comfortable with. Additionally, the safe in our room was not bolted to anything and could easily be picked up and carried. Otherwise, I would recommend a stay here (especially for young travellers).

Giving it 4 stars because it technically wasn't a 5 star hotel and that was completely fine. Amazing experience nonetheless. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we asked for help to find places to go to. Rooms were clean and had everything you needed. Breakfast was included in the connecting restaurant next door (hot pot style). The hotel had a very cool unique style to it in terms of decor which made it quite memorable. Would come back to Papa Whale for sure!

Good quality and service. They provide luggage keeping service at the day you check out. The staff is nice as well. I would rate it five star overall.

This hotel is actually pretty awesome! Hotpot breakfast is amazing.

The room had a modern design and a beautiful bathroom, but the fact that it was in the basement with no window was troubling for fighting jet-lag.

Hotel Papa Whale is a very cozy hotel. It has an amazing Modern Industrial Interior design accented with vintage pieces. Although the room we had was a bit small, it was enough for a relaxing night.

Receptionists is extreamly nice, she recommended me a place to travel and help me a lot. Nice location, you can walk from Ximen Station to here in 10 minutes. There also a 7-11 around here too.

Stayed here for 3 days during the Taipei Marathon. Lovely and modern hotel, I just wish there are windows in my room.

Hotel was still under renovation when we check-in. Staffs were considerate to give us a room away from the noise. Love the hotel concept and the hotel room. Nice industrial and retro feel. Has laundry services. Saw there was this big restaurant under renovation. Would look forward to it when it is fully open! Location is near ximenting. So within walking distance to food, shopping and exploitation around the area. Would definitely come back again to this place!
