If you want to risk being on the streets all night or sit on a chair for a couple of hours, with the only toilet available that stinks of piss paying full price do book via hostelworld and at Birka.
This is a runned down place that takes your money at all costs. On saturday I booked a bed via Hostelworld and I couldnt get in since I havent got the codes. When I finally got in to ring the emergency numbers nobody answered. The nightguard came at about 4 in the morning drunk from a concert and I asked for my money back since I didnt take part of any services. The systems were down therefore he couldnt do anything and asked me to wait for the receptionist, however he offered me a bed if I pay additionally. I had a train to catch at 7. I was clear I needed to talk with someone that can return my money.
Hostelstelworld doesnt seam to care of my problem, meanwhile Birka told me id get my money back, however none of them seam to want to give me my money back and they think it is totally acceptable to expose a person in this way. I will never use any of them and recommend you to stay far from it in case you want service.

As far as a hostel is concerned, this checks all the boxes. Great conversation with other people, good service by the employees, and largely functional services. However, it was LOUD on the weekend and it was clear that few people go here to get a good night's sleep. Just be sure to bring something to cover your eyes and ear plugs or else you will only sleep 3 hours like I did. Because that is not always in control by the hostel, I decided to give 4 stars for providing a good overall experience.

It is very close to the Hötorget train station and therefore has close connections to the city center. It is quiet and sleep quality was good. Some rooms have really small toilets (at par with what I have seen in Hong Kong)! Breakfast consists of mostly cold items and is inexpensive. It is also allowed to store and cook your own food items, that was good. The front desk is not open at all times but it is possible to mention in advance what are the check in and check out times. There are laundry facilities. Most of the visitors are understandably young. If there is a preference for amenities such as TVs, then option is not suitable. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

When I arrived my bed sheets were dirty and my towel too. They changed them two days after, saying they have a rule to change them every three days and nothing can be done. This is unacceptable. One time the hotel staff woke me up at 6 in the morning, claiming I had to check out and leave my room quickly because this was my last day. I told it was impossible : I had three more nights booked. They told me to come to the reception immediately. Then when I was standing at the reception, they told me it was a mistake. This is really not professional. On my last night, my card didn’t work anymore, since I came to the hostel in the middle of the night, and I had a train booked leaving Stockholm at 6:50 in the morning, I had a problem. I planned to sleep which I couldn’t, my room being closed. And my luggage was in it. Which meant I could have lost my train ticket which I had already paid. I called the direction of the hostel which ordered one of the staff members to come help me. Two hours later, a staff member finally came. He complained to me, asking why I called the direction! He finally opened my room. This night I had one hour sleep. I was not a customer expecting much : just a place to have good sleep and take showers in the morning. I am happy to have left this hotel.

There is no free parking, there are expensive parking nearby.

Good room but not much bag space. Great access to showers and bathrooms in and out of room. Good Wi-Fi but luggage room use came at a cost. They didn't have any maps of the city and staff could not answer simple questions about the local train station.

Good sized twin room with a good shower. Clean, a few scuff marks on walls and floors. Well heated and well supplied, breakfast available downstairs with a small charge. A little bit hard to find if you are not from Sweden as the hostel is behind a couple of streets and slightly hidden. Maps and discount cards available at reception and checking in/out is easy. About 15-20min walk from Stockholm train. Arlanda airport to that train station was near 30min.

Located in a former brewery, 50 metres from the Hotorget Metro, the property as a whole has a nice look like the surrounding area. But I found it deficit the fact the hall was open are during the day, had spare linen for a fee, no television and no cleaning. The breakfast is very poor, so evaluate well if you buy a package with this included. There is a communal kitchen to enjoy, but it did not inspire me much. It was a last minute solution also considering the high prices of the city. Not to go back.

Better than expected to be honest. We've been in some "low end" cheap hotels/hostels in Stockholm and got 4 nights at Birka hostel at quite the price and was expecting something awful, judging from our past experience with cheap hostels and some of the reviews of this place. Was quite a good surprise. We stayed at a double private room that was clean, with comfy beds and had it's own clean bathroom. We could hear one of our neighbours but that was due to him yelling on the phone. Our only concern was the fact that there wasn't any working ventilation in our room (although the bathroom had it's own), so it was getting quite hot as well. In summary it was a fine experience and we would recommend it.

Very nice place in the center of Stockholm! The rooms were very nice, the personnel was so friendly and helpful! The best hostel experience that we ever had!

This is the worst hostel in town. There were no lockers in my room and the lockers in other rooms cost 70kr (even if you have your own lock you have to pay). I've never seen anything like that — charging people to keep their items save? It's absurd. My girlfriend was actually robbed when we were there, and the staff did absolutely nothing to assist her. Avoid this place!

Nice place, good environment. Could use a more comfortable lounge and towel rental was a bit high in my opinion. But overall a nice place with kind staff.

Rooms were nice, triple bunks means could easily get cramped. There is minimal communal space and the cooking facilities don't go much beyond a microwave. Location is probably the highlight, very near a shopping street and lots of sights etc. In easy reach.

Good location. Medium beds. Poor service. My lamp and power plug were not working and the attendant told me she couldn't do nothing to help me.

Terrible hostel! Dirty and torn bed linen + very very cold (the batteries are cold, on the street winter) it smells like in the room that in the hallways something unpleasant. The room was very clean.

It is the best place to sleep in the best price. Rooms and bathroms are very clean, staff is so kind and helpful. Only minus is it that temperature in our room it was cold, but we had warming floor in the bathroom :) Amazing!

Excellent location. Very near to city centre but also quiet. Lots of places to eat around. Near Underground station. Rooms functional and clean enough. Good value breakfast for Swedish prices. However, we were initially overcharged for breakfast. Got our money back, but not in cash as we asked for. Staff apologised but shouldn’t happen. Otherwise the staff were friendly and helpful.

The quality is directly proportional to the price. The hostel is clean and tidy. Great options to people travelling on a budget.

In general terms the hotel is fine. The location is the most favorable. Since walking you can reach the main points of the city. The bathrooms are clean and general aspects too. The beds are not very comfortable and the pillows are thin. Breakfast is paid, it leaves 5 euros aprox. Where there is a variety of cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, coffee, toast and jams.

Hostello with all the basic comforts, for about 23 euros per night we had a spacious room for 2 people, shower and WC clean and spacious.
The building is a short walk from the center, just two steps there and a super market and a very good restaurant/pub!
Great for young people with friends!

It is the cheapest hostel we found in the city, however not so good. The beds uncomfortably and we passed cold in the evening. The bathroom and shower are in the same space so everything gets wet. A normal option for an economic trip.

The hotel is well located, the center. Clean. The place to eat is well equipped: plates, forks mugs, tea, coffee, microwave, refrigerator. All rooms are clean. We recommend to choose this inexpensive, cozy hotel. Thank you for your time.

Very good location and pleasant flexibility at check-in. Unfortunately, we were all sick by the air conditioning which could not be turned off even on multiple demand. In the room stank of smoke and in one of the showers was mold.

Hostel with average hygiene, tiny showers for the number of people per floor. Friendly service according to the people who welcome you! The room was clean and comfortable.

A really cheap hostel if you consider the central location. The rooms are small but you can't expect more than that for the price you pay. Great to spend a couple of days in Stockholm.

Clean friendly quiet convenient.

Neat and clean, good without TV but miss not having a stove. Bad that the bed wasn't made my second night, cool dorms otherwise. My green beautycase was stolen with all my hygiene-products outside of the luggage and laundry room downstairs, which not only is devestating for me but worse is the reluctance of staff to take responsibility and do someething about it. Otherwise nice.

Great budget hostel. There is free breakfast in the morning, open 24 hours. The room was clean. It's the best thing to sleep for a couple of days.

Small but clean rooms with private toilet. Comfortable beds. Location is really good in Normalm district. It's just off the main road so easy access to local transport, restaurants and supermarkets.

Nice and cheap hostel, rooms are clean, pretty quiet, there is a kitchen and a luggage storage room, reception hours are limited, so be sure to note that when booking, the location is perfect, a few grocery stores and restaurants there, fast check in and check out.

It was quite the budget stay with amenities typical to hostels. The kitchen was often very busy and hectic but still functional. No alcohol allowed inside which is good and bad, I think. Since alcohol laws in Sweden are a bit rough it'do be nice to sit down to a beer.

Good to visit Stockholm on the cheap.

Lovely hostel. Very quiet by being in Stockholm centrum. Near the subway and other forms of transport. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Cleaning every day. Loved the shared room for girls had a very girly interior with chandeliers and makeup tables.

Great location and affordable prices in Stockholm. My biggest complaint is the common area is pretty small and the Wi-Fi isn't very good. Free pasta and coffee is also a big plus though. Laundry service is 100 SEK, which is a good price for Stockholm. There are essentially no self service laundry places so be aware and plan accordingly.

The hostel was ok to stay in, but they have taken two different charges from my debit card, I have emailed them, they replied to take my original booking number and then after sending it, have not heard anything back.
Without an explanation, this seems like theft.

The hostel I was pleasantly surprised pleasantly surprised how well located this and what "cheap" was compared with the rest of the Hostels that there are in Stockholm.

Decent rooms for a fair price. Not a fan due to limited outlets (one per person, and they are on the ground, which is inconvenient for the person on the top bunk, and charging something means you cannot use the personal lamp). There are 13 rooms per floor, and the room I was in fit 8 people. There are two bathrooms and one shower per floor, so the queue can be long. The toilet lips were also detached, making an uncomfortable time. Lastly, the lock cabinets are very small, so do not expect to put much in there. Location is good and there is a kitchen and free noodles to make for yourself.

I booked a bed in an eight bedded room (women only) with breakfast included. Given the high prices of Stockholm, I was pleased to find a decent hostel for my short stay. The breakfast had not much of variety, but carried everything you needed and was prepared by the staff about half an hour before the breakfast time, which meant it was always fresh. The room itself was clean, but did not have lockers, which meant I kinda had to always keep all my valuables with me on tour. There was a luggage room available between the hours of 8-20, which is fair enough, but as I had to leave at 23 pm I was stuck with my luggage for 3 hours in the dining room by the rules, even though there still was a staff member in house. Also I booked through the hostel's website and included a message stating that I wanted to buy an extra breakfast for my day of arrival and I was asking for extended luggage room time, but they never answered that message. Upon check-in the guy seemed to read it for the first time. In the end it all worked out though and I can't complain about the room, it was clean and despite the locker situation well equipped and just like their pictures on their site. I would use this hostel again, but if there are cheaper options available, I wouldn't mind using a different hostel.

Perfect location, no room service, it's cold in the rooms already not working properly the heating, there are no lockers and breakfast affordable and right for 6€. Recommended if your priority is the location, but don't be picky with everything else.

Worst hostel experience ever — and I stayed in a lot of hostels. We booked the beds a couple of days ahead, via their official homepage, and even already paid with credit card. When we got there, however, they said their system did not work properly and even told us it was our fault somehow. Again: we already paid and got a confirmation email for our payment! They did not offer to rebook us and pay the price difference for another hostel closeby, only to look where there was free space at all. On an easter weekend, it was obviously impossible to find something for the same price somewhat close. So at this moment, I paid beds at Birka that we never got and a hostel that was more expensive and truly not a nice experience. I really hope Birka gives me my money back soon. They refused to pay us back right away — it would have to happen via the same channel I paid (some third provider? ) — because this worked so well the first time! Also, they wasted two hours of our lives and did not even give us their names. Horrible service, no value for your money at all. Dont go.

Norman wanted. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good too. Luggage storage room is paid. If you take a bunk in the common room, the towel is paid.

Complies with what is expected. We were in a double room with private bathroom, was very clean and new, there is no wardrobe but a couple of shelves. The bathroom is of those who do not have a bath or shower, with the water going all over the floor… The breakfast is good and at a good price to the level that is seen in the city. Highlight your location and the service of coffee, tea, and pasta (pasta in particular) free of charge throughout the day so you can get. The workers are dry and will attend reluctantly, but they do it well.

Its a cool & well reserved hostel. Very condusive for anyone who decides to stay during a visit to Stockholm Sweden. Enjoyed ma stay there.

One stars in less for the lack of bathrooms, and a welcome which one could be better. Otherwise, the presence of tea, coffee and pasta is very significant. (There are for everybody).

Affordable place to stay in Stockholm center, decent living conditions. Excellent location.

The location is great. It is based right in the middle of Stockholm, making most attractions very accessable. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm but the beds were not the comfiest and the curtains did not block out much light. However, everything was clean and for the price, it is a good place to stay.

The bathroom had no handsoap and our room door was slightly jammed and required a bit of a push to fully close, but all in all its been a pleasant experience.

Nice hostel. Clean. Friendly staff. Sheets included. Kitchen 24/7 and tea/coffee/pasta is really there for all. Great thing you can safely leave luggage till 8pm even if you check out. Tip to travellers: bring a locket for private locker in shared room. If not you can buy one cheap at desk.

This facility is not the best. There are too few showers, the floor isn't clean, and the lock hardware is broken. However, the staff is professional and the beds are comfortable, if a little creeky.

Sweden is known for it's incredible nature, the courteous people and in general, for having everything well-arranged. However, this hostel lacks all that. The hostel looks cheaply IKEA furnished, lacks atmosphere, and the staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. After a long day of walking through November-cold Stockholm, we arrive at the hostel. We have only small backpacks, are completely sober and just want to lie in bed and have a shower before we go grab dinner. We had booked through a hostel booking site for our group of seven, but when we arrived there, somehow something had gone wrong and they had only received a reservation for five people. Understandably, this is inconvenient. However, nothing was done to help us or compensate us for the problem that was not our fault. Luckily we had just walked past another hostel and inquired about the rooms there. They did have space. So we asked the receptionist if we could maybe just check out and go to the other hostel where they did have space. Little did we know, that she would be so unhelpful. The receptionist let us wait for over an hour, just calling back and forth with her boss about what to do. In the end, they were okay with us going to another hostel, because they didn't have space for us anymore. However, we would have to pay for the first night's stay, because they blamed us for having messed up the reservation. In our eyes, it's not so bad to blame a customer for something that has gone wrong.

Really new and clean hostel. The double bed rooms with bathroom are really nice and prices are definitely ok for what you get.

Not good, bad food, non-gigienic shower with someones hair on the floor, no shampoo and sleepers for a bath.
