The hotel grounds are beautiful. But because of the thick vegetation floating in the jungle breathe. And the biggest disadvantage is the negligence of the owners. 3.5 months until the holiday was booked. With the owner Sergey corresponded via FB about the nuances of the accommodation, prices, tours, the weather (just at the period of their flooded) and other details. A month after booking, we ended the validity of the card, which automatically tied to the reservation system. It was discovered when the hotel tried to block the amount amount. I contacted the owner, explained the situation, confirmed that is still interested in staying and issued a new card with another Bank. Said the owner, notify the Manager. To obtain a new card promptly to make the new data and unsubscribed to the hotel that would have confirmed that they for their part our reservation. And then decayed to communicate with Sergei. Reads messages in FB (messenger visible to read whether it), is not responsible. Wrote already using Viber. Reads and there not responding. For a week or 2 (last day of free cancellation rooms) before departure comes the rejection of the reservation of hotel rooms. The alleged problems with the map. There was panic, because in such a short time to find a hotel which would correspond to our interests and money is not so easy.

Feel lonely as there are only a few hotels in the area! Quiet and far from everything! One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka! A staff at the top of the rooms great brief comfort tt is perfect! The only regret of staying there so little time (1 night is class)

Most unsatisfactory. I have a long list of problems here from insect infestations, no vegetarian meal options, to no light for reading. This place is like living under house arrest under solitary confinement.

Beautiful small Hotel at an absolute quiet beach. The breakfast is very good but for dinner I would recommend to go out.

Great place. Absolutely away from the trouble of the city. Nice rooms, some with seaview. Try to book the ones closest to the sea. Restaurant was unfortunately bad. Staff was slow and rudea and food was average. Breakfast was good, dinner under average (my jumbo shrimp were mini shrimp out of the freezer). But price was for jumbo shrimp. There is a lot to eat in the city. Beach was beautifully quiet and great. A nice place to relax for a few days, maybe before or after visiting the national parks!

A wonderful place in the colonial style on the ocean shore! Everything is permeated by the color of Ceylon. It is romantic, colorful, comfortable! Far transfer from Colombo, but caring for the staff is a disadvantage.

Perfect hotel on a perfect beach. We stayed at the private pool villa which was very nice. The villa has an small open kitchen with a fridge. The bathroom is separate and has a nice big showerhead! The beach is amazing. It is very secluded, you can walk for one hour and meet nobody on your way. The sea is rough so not the best place for swimming but there is a big pool right next to the beach. Food in the restaurant was delicious (Rice and Curry and fresh fish). Price is OK but the portions are huge. The fresh fish is very good. Staff was helpful and organised a dinner on the beach. Perfect spot for a couple of days relaxing.

We stayed in a Villa in the Good Karma Retreat at Rekawa beach. The place is very isolated. So it’s great if you like to be on a beach with hardly any tourism. A tuktuk from Tangalle city costs around 600 or 700 rps and is a 20 minute drive. The place is owned by Russian people, who are very open to feedback and who want you to have a great holiday. The villas have a spacious master bedroom with a view on the private pool. There’s a separate bathroom and a kitchen with a big fridge where you can keep your own drinks and fruits. In the Villa area there’s also a spa, a gym and a yoga room. There’s tea and water available. Unfortunately there was no coffee at the villa, but to owners said they’ll install a Nespresso machine in the near future. The restaurant doesn’t meet the standards of the rooms. We only had breakfast there. It tasted ok, but we had a discussion with the waiter. He refused to serve breakfast at 10:20am, since breakfast was only possible till 10:30am and his watch told him that it was already 10:30am. Then he also wanted us to pay extra for the coffee, which is nonsense since the menu said coffee was included. When we paid the bill with VISA, he wasn’t able to give us a receipt. And afterwards he didn’t say to the owner that we already paid. To be short. The waiter was not client service minded at all. That’s a pity. One great advice if you like walking. Start a beach walk from the hotel at sunrise and go all the way to Tangalle Center.

What a wonderful place that exudes good karma! Our group of 5 women of assorted ages had a terrific time and we couldn't fault the level of service from everyone. Dumi and Akila became our friends and everyone pulled out the stops to stage a fantastic birthday party for our birthday girl — who didn't spot all the efforts they had all made until we walked her over to the beach. Well off the beaten track and whilst an ideal hotel for everyone, if you need to recharge your batteries, you won't find anywhere better. Our only wish was that it could be nearer to Colombo to reduce the travel time, but well worth the journey!

Perfect location right on the beach. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. A very relaxing experience. My only criticism is that the air-conditioning did not get that cold making for a warm stuffy room in the evenings.

Wow, one of those few times a place exceeds your expectations. As a couple we found good karma to be the perfect place to stay for a few days away from crowds. Secluded beach is even more beautiful in person than in photographs. The hotel is new, clean, very nice, great air conditioning, pool was refreshing and next to the beach. The staff was absolutely wonderful, there was great teamwork between owners and staff to make sure our stay was perfect. Great value for the money.

Great place for a relaxing holiday! Many thanks to Sergey and Venus for the hospitality. Were in November 2013 onwards, until revocation of the hands did not reach.
We all really enjoyed the main peace and quiet, the lack of noisy drunks companies by type "Tagil taxis". Great food, friendly staff. Recommend to anyone who wants to retire and enjoy the huge beach, Ocean and pristine nature. Yuri and Olga.

Stayed at this hotel for a week. A great combination of wildlife, desert beach and great hotel design, seamlessly blends into the gorgeous tropical nature. Bright, clean, large room with lovely views. Very tasty dishes in the restaurant. I liked everything. Recommend.

I stayed this hotel for 3 nights. Great place with all taking care by management. Chef Ajith makes very nice barbecue on beach. Lovely.
