We initially stayed for 3 nights, later extending to a month in November 2023. Dinu provided a reasonable monthly rate and shared valuable insights about Sri Lanka. He can assist with TukTuk service or any tours. Our spacious room included a private kitchen (fridge, gas stove, cooking facilities), bathroom, and AC. The comfy bed featured a mosquito net. Villa Sunimal, tucked away in a quiet spot off the main street, is about a 15-minute walk from the beach. Conveniently close to grocery shops and the bus station. The standout was the warm hospitality of Dinu and his parents Mr and Mrs Sunimal, always friendly and helpful. Mrs Sunimal even invited us to traditional Rice and Curry on her birthday. Highly recommend this place and hope to return one day! Grateful to the Sunimal family ❤️
Everyone at Sunimal was super lovely! The entire family went out of their way to make me and my friends feel comfortable. From arranging airport taxis, to tuktuk rides, to food recommendations, and all for a very affordable rate.

I had a great stay at Villa Sunimal. I was welcomed by the lovely family (who all speak English quite well) with a cup of tea, and immediately felt comfortable and welcomed. Dinu is very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The room is clean and spacious, with a well-functioning AC, and there is a shared kitchenette with a fridge.
The location is perfect: it's situated on a side street off the main road, so you're close to everything but without the noise from the road. In just a few minutes, you can walk to the tourist shopping street of Unawatuna. I will definitely come back!
