At arrival we were given a sea view room at the first floor. Let me tell you, there was no sea view. Far from it. After some complaining we were moved one floor up, where there actually was a sea view. The place is not very cozy, at all, but the rooms are clean and have everything you might need. Except power outlets. There was one, easily available, in the entire room. Location is great, close to everything and pricing fair IIRC.

Found this very fairly prized nice place at a website when we were searching for a place to stay in Galle last December. You'd never guess how clean and nice this place looks inside seeing it from outside (See all pics of this place) — Lowest pricees we found. — Tidy excellent quality rooms. — Friendly staff. — Ample parking. — Sorry cannot comment on food because we booked 'room only' and had meals outside. (Provided morning tea on the house) ** Tons of stuff to see inside fort or outside all around Galle. Time is all you need ☺

The Sunset hotel Fort is very well located in the heart of the old Galle (Fort). A good choice for exploring Galle and the tourist attractions. A charming small hotel offering all the necessary services. Have a good visit!

Very well located in the historic district and good value for money. Preferably reserve the rooms with view, the others, not having a window overlooking the outside, are less enjoyable.

Breakfast is good… if you are not planning to stay long take standard room and save money for food…

Rooms are good and tidy! Overall ambiance of the hotel is good! But the only to be improved is serving sequence of breakfast! Very first fruitplate is served and than rest followed!

Great location, good rooms!

Went here for two nights. The hotel was very clean. The bathrooms were fantastic with great showers. The only thing I would mention is that during the low season, the restaurant is not open. They were accommodating, however, and did prepare tea for us in the morning.

Really disappointing people, not friendly and always trying to grab your money.

Good service! Rooms and premices were clean and nice. Breakfast was good. Good value for the money!

Fine restaurant. More staff needed and service quality could improve. Food was ok.

After booking, they wrote to us to say they were fully booked, "sorry a mistake", so we cancelled the reservation only to find they re-advertised the same room about an hour later, with a 50% price increase (peak dates! ).

Wonderful place with incredibly helpful staff. Willing to help with whatever we needed. Great breakfast even cooked earlier than usual since we had to leave to our next destination early in the morning.

Well eaten in a relaxed atmosphere!

Very nice restaurant with quite a number of options. Staff was very friendly to understand the instructions and get the spice level of food accordingly. Huge seating space and most of them with great view of sea. It's right on the sea facing fort wall.

I would like to know about the hotel because I have to come to galle for official matter just to have lunch and rest for two or three hours pl.

Service very professional, fast, good card, terrace with view of the ramparts and the sea. Recommended.

Ideal sunset drinks. Nice atmosphere and service. Incredibly disappointed to see real "tortoise shell" souvenirs for sale in the store downstairs. Even the salesmen knew it was bad idea to sell them, so clearly it's owners/management that choose to sell these items from endangered species.
