Best food in the region. Good place for family outings.

My wife and I visited this tourist hotel on 10 Oct 2022 and the bedroom, bathroom were very clean. The staff were very friendly. Although it was not possible to arrange a buffet that day but they treated us with delicious food. Under the current situation in our country, even though the tourist hotel industry has collapsed but the service provided to tourists in this hotel is very good.

Great customer service. Would recommend to visit Maalu maalu on a breezy, Sunny day. We have visited this September 17 th & 18th it was a family getaway. Any aquatic person would definitely love the hotel. Has Nice, calm beach, Large pool, also a private pool and a nice jacuzzi (booked Ocean suite). Enjoyed the buffet. Very special thanks to Ashok. Their service was top notch. if you're a beach person who loves to do beach sports, activities be sure to say hi if you do visit Passikudah!

We had a chance to visit for our honeymoon at here. Ambience and Food are out of the world. Staffs are so friendly. They have did a special arrangement to made our stay even more romantic with a special decors. Special Thanks to Mr. Ashok who did all the needful in a short period!

We had a wonderful stay at maalu maalu themeresort&spa, everything was perfect, the staff is very attentive to make our days go as wonderfully as possible. In the restaurant the different meals are a treat with a wide choice of dishes on the menu or à la carte. Rooban, one of the pool managers is very attentive and kindly installs you either on the pool side or on the beach side, both very well maintained. The Ashok manager offers excellent excursions, and unforgettable extras such as a cooking demonstration in front of you and its tasting or a one-on-one meal on the privatized beach. I recommend 100%.

The place located on the beach, clean pool, Big bathtoom with shower and tub. Friendly staff, try their best to make you feel comfortable. Felt like home, cosy and intimate, not crowded, perfect for relaxation, we stayed 8 nights. Plenty of choices at breakfast and dinner buffet. Best manager Ashok, he did a great work. Thank you!

It is our first trip post COVID time to Sri Lanka. Stayed here for the first time and realised the hidden gem of Sri Lanka’s eastern coast. Magical location matched with excellent food, friendly staff. A must stay place while you are in Sri Lanka. Absolute value for money.

This place is so beautiful, frinedly staff, very good service and super administration.

Met all my expectations.
Spacious and clean rooms with ample amount of space in the bathrooms as well that include Jacuzzi tub and whatnot.
All amenities included. Food was fantastic buffet style. Room service was simply on time and orderly. My recommendation is to go for a Ocean Suite as it has more privacy than the others where you get on some drink on with no disturbances whatsoever.

Front office manger personally greeted us on arrival and available 24/7, F&B manager Mr Gayan is exceptional he made our trip fabulous. Food they serve was unbelievable. Definitely going back again. Keep it up.

My wife and I visited the resort for an overnight stay, the rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff did an exceptional job in making us have the most memorable trip! Staff are very courteous and friendly. They have adapted to the COVID situation very well and running smoothly to accommodate guests! Mr. Ashok and Mr. Janaka were always there to make sure we were having a good time!

We visited Maalu Maalu last weekend and the experience was so good. Food was awesome. Very clam and relaxing place. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Spa treatment was also good. A special thank should go to Mr Niyaz for his great hospitality service for us at our stay at Maalu Maalu.

This is an amazing place, it is just sad to see that it is so quiet due to the many cancellations after the bombings. Pool, ocean, rooms and service top class. My only comment that the meal choices are limited and quite expensive in comparison to Colombo. Once at the resort there really is not many places to visit. Did find a local beer shop called Denis Beer shop which we have visited to join the locals for a few hours each day. Cheaper food and beer and local spirits.
Would return if ever in Sri Lanka again.

Rooms and amenities were amazing. Pool was just perfect and the little jaccuzi seats were a lovely touch. Only complaint, buffet could use some work and variety could be improved.

This is for spa only: I've stayed in another hotel close by and made an appointment for the spa. It was Excellent experience, they waited for our arrival and took care of us the entire time. Massage was excellent, had a short chat about what we need and then they just went on. We booked for the complete package, massage, face massage, stream bath a d herbal bath. Much needed relax time.

Great resort, helpful professional staff to the extent chef making local version of gluten free pan cake every meal as one of party is gluten intolerant, wide choice of food every meal freshly cooked, the beach is good clean sand not crowded, well designed maintain pool, rooms nice done air conditioned, tended twice a day, many amenities. Excellent chill out place. Would be happy to go back for holiday there.

The food was tasty but I expected more. the following were not there crabs lobster many other seafood. the name is malu malu but not even one bit of fish was there. the service can be given an year before. It sucks and stinks. i ordered a milk packet it took one hour to come.

One of the best resorts I have visited. Really helpful staff, nice & yummy food, excellent room service and high quality facilities. And the place has very attractive sea view. Pool is large and has jacuzzi as well. I have enjoyed my stay very well.

This place is absolutely gorgeous, pleasant, and relaxing for both an intimate getaway for two or a family vacation. If travelling with kids, get the Family Attic rooms as they have seperate sleeping areas for the kids upstairs. The dinner and bfast buffets were on point. The only detraction in the entire trip were the relatively high beverage rates and the lead time during lunch for off the menu orders. The beach access is amazing, the sea was calm and perfect for floating around the shallows. The pool is very kid friendly as well because it's 4ft through the length and has multiple shallow zones along with spa jets. Finally the hospitality of the staff is beyond standard and borders on exemplary.

This beach resort is ideal place to relax. Have luxurious rooms and other facilities. You won't be disappointed.

Very nice hotel with good food. The access wasn’t easy ; it was a long way from Colombo, but once we were there we enjoyed it. Sri Lankan people are very nice with western tourists.

Its a theme resort and one of the best hotels in pasikudah. If you are looking for a relaxing time with your family or friends, this place is ideal. Also it’s famous with honeymooners as it has a romantic atmosphere. Food and the service is excellent. Most fascinating thing is that you have the access to one of the best beaches in the country and the best time period of the year is from may to September as the sea is calm and clear. In those period water is crystal clear and ideal for swimming, snorkeling & diving.

This is a lovely place to spend some some relaxing time in Pasikuda (Kalduwa) beach. The resort has luxurious room with all the star class facilities. Buffet is good with many variety of local and western food. Resort has a gorgeous white beach and it is ideal for any one who wants to spend some quality time on beach. Finally the staff is friendly and wears a lovely smile always.

One of the best hotels in the eastern coast of SriLanka. Coupled with golden sandy beach and magnificent sea breeze, this location gives the visitors a unique earthly experience. You can play beach volleyball with in hotel boundaries and several water sports are available at a cost.

Great place to enjoy with your family, very clean, friendly staff andkids friendly, they customize and give meals the way your kids like. Super pool and beach, we will recommend to all, only con's is not much variety of foods everyday, seems similar variety everyday, if they can differ it's great.

Hotel facilities and rooms are very nice. Only the restaurant has a little cold through a lot of concrete and the lighting (energy-saving lamps).

Very comfortable hotel, nice setting, good service, a very decent restaurant.

This hotel is not up to the 5 star standard now. It is like a cheap inn. Biggest issue is food. No taste at all. Almost all time our dining table wasn't ready and had to wait. Services they offer are very slow. Staff is friendly. And indoor and outdoor harsh white lighting are annoying, specially at night. Not a single yellow lights even in rooms.

Delicious food. Enjoyed the meals a lot. But the main desserts are over quickly and they are not served again. The place is very clean and tidy. Calm and quiet atmosphere. Should have Wi-Fi in the rooms also. The beach is nice and super clean. The view of the sunrise is beautiful. A walk (or a jog) in the beach early morning is enjoyable. The “පොල් කටු හැන්ද” and the water at the entrance to the rooms are a great concept. The lightings around the pool should be improved. It’s pretty dark after 6.30 pm Definitely worth a revisit.

Excellent place. Very calm, quiet and clean atmosphere. Lovely beach. The food was exquisite. Extremely tidy bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The pool was too small, but it was also good.

We really enjoyed the stay (six adults and one night) at Maalu Maalu. The hotel's grounds are modern and tasteful. The rooms are functional and clean. The huge bathrooms are a dream!
Food and service are also right.
To complain about, we have at most two little things: — at dinner, the waiting time for the main course was a little too long.
— for the full enjoyment of hunger, we would have liked either assistance in opening the hard shells or the right tool. The tongs to open looked pretty, but were unusable for their purpose.

The oldest and first hotel on this now overloaded strip. Nice design. Good loft disco. But too high rates and no guests and specially no ladies around. For most foreign guests: After a day or so it is just… Boring. In a sort of Paradise. No trees. No market. No shops. No surf. What to do here? All of Passekudah is more suitable to local tourists than overseas visitors. That comment is heard often and everywhere.

Very nice sceneries and beach. Buffet collection is not the biggest but what is servered is good quality. Worth the price especially if you are looking for water sports.

Was here for 6 days, just wonderful. Beach is large and clean, sea is as clear as it could be, rooms are super large, clean with air conditioning working perfectly. But the last star is thanks to employees! To be recommended.

I was pretty excited for this hotel but it let me down. The view was nice but the service was bad because they couldn't understand me. The photos they had for this place was very misleading. They took it an angle so it would look good. There was also a crazy lady underneath us cursing all the time. It wasn't bad but it didn't live up to its name. It's also kinda over priced.

The pool is warm, quite quiet place. The beach is clean. The kitchen is quite good
Frequent interruptions with electricity and water in the crane (the weak head, the absence of cold water). There are no Russian channels or at least children's channels. Water in the room is provided only on arrival. All remaining time should be bought for 200 rupees. Compensated by a compliment from the spa "30 min massage". The baby mattress in the crib is all Obosan. The request to change did not react. The enclosures are old. The finish is average and already jammed. The light in the room as well as razetok creepy as a little. Dinner for one person $25. I think that the price is not sootvestsvuet quality.

They lived up to their reputation and at times exceeded our expectations. Ever willing to please you over and above their call of duty always smiling with enthusiasm at being able to please. No task was too difficult. They carry your luggage on their shoulder — 25-30kgs and up 2 flights of steps to your Cabana. The rooms are cleaned and beds are turned down everyday. All meals are buffet style — food is delicious, however, if you just make eye contact with the dining staff they will rush over to get you something from the buffet if you are too lazy to get it yourself! Highly recommend a stay but not during Sept to March — although we only experienced 1 full day of rain out of 4 glorious weather days. Short stays recommend — say 4 to 5 days.

Best place to spend a sunny holiday with family and friends. The individual huts with sea and ocean view along with a very spacious pool is available.

Its the first time I've been here and its just soo peaceful, calm amd relaxing. You can call it a mini maldives resort by beach. Rooms are spacious with 4 room types including a ocean front facing suite. I was told that its the first resort to be built in the bay of passikudah. There's also a Spa to give you the perfect getaway in a long lost new found island nation.

We spent 3 weeks in Maalu Maalu during march and simply had a blast. The bungalows are super sweet and very noblé. The staff was beyond friendly and made us feel as if we were living in paradise. The food was excellent and rich in varieity. The beach is clean and the water is clear. Best hotel we ever stayed in. Totally recommend this resort and spa. Can't wait to get back to this beautiful place.

Good hotel ever seen wow.

This place is a slice of heaven… the beach is beyond compare. We literally walked 50 metres into the warm ocean with no waves in sight. Best location to view sunrise, well worth the long drive. Maalu Maaalu is built in a wonderful minimal architectural style, gorgeous cabanas with super luxury bathroooms, 5 Star food and genuine, professional and friendly staff. One night was just not enough. We were so sad to leave. Congratulations to Chandra and the staff for maintaining such a superb property. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

This is the best hotel experience I ever had in my life by far. Staff was not only friendly also they were so energetic and efficient. Food was awsome. Cleanliness, beach and surroundings were fabulous. Love to be back as soon as possible.
