We will not be returning to the Puerto Plata again! We stayed here in 2017 and had a quite nice stay but this year was a complete disaster, we could not get near their pool as it was a free for all just walk in and use it mostly Spanish, their shop that was supposed to be open from 8 to 6 closed at 2! There is no Ellington bar open at all just a pool bar with a bar man that liked to drink and frequently jump in and out of the pool while working we did not want to be listening to music pumping out of a speaker from 11 in the morning untill well after midnight and when asked to turn it down he refused we did not want to listen to people with a bit to much drink jumping around the pool at 2 in the morning when it was supposed to be closed from 6, we won't be returning to the Puerto Plata apartments next year very very disappointing stay.

Very friendly except for bar staff. Bad service or no service. Rude.

Pay TV (3 euros per day + 10 euros deposit for the controller)
Cockroaches
Heat (pay fan)
Payment internet
In high seasons such as August people are able to remove their towels for them to take the hammock (having a solarium totally empty) just because it is near the pool and with the help of the lifeguard.
There's a microwave missing.

Not a great place to stay restraunt was hardly ever open supermarket closed at 2 each day and had very little stock staff had reception were no help when asked about trips its a very basic accommodation with lits of steps and its like a maze easy to get lost in would not recommend staying here.

It's handy, and we know it. Good value nice staff & place.

My friend and I have just returned from a weeks holiday here and we loved the the hotel very clean and friendly the receptionist Olympia was lovely and helpful made our perfect would definitely go back.

Discreet location but you see right away tourist rage. They charge internet Wi-Fi and TV. Clean.

Budget Apartment Hotel complex clean & tidy & friendly staff. Nice pool area with a bar & supermarket. An easy 10 minute walk down into town using roads & steps down a steep hill! The walk back is a little more strenuous! However you could get a taxi back if you feel lazy, it's not far so shouldn't cost much. You pay extra for use of TV &/or Wi-Fi. Phone reception is strong with good 4g data connection. The pool was lovely & warm for a December swim & the happy hour drinks (BOGOF offer) was brilliant value as was the English breakfast. We enjoyed our stay here very much it's not the "grandest" hotel but it was just perfect for our needs & we would stay here again without hesitation.

Very good room. Very friendly staff. Food was awesome. The swimmingpool is big and warm with a life quard. Close to the town and sea. View is amazing from terrassa.

Located in the coast, in front of the sea, it already offers an exciting, romantic and… unique view, as only Gran Canaria can give. The staff as well as helpful and friendly. Alessandro, the Socorrista, is worth the price of the ticket.

Horrible stinks of cigarettes can't avoid the smell or avoid at the restaurants, wasn't helped by a shared balcony with an abusive drunk man swearing and shouting at us to be followed by throwing things about. The rooms are dated and are hotter inside than outside, silly things like paying for a TV remote or fan in room which should be standard considering the heat. On the plus tho it has it's own shop and bars which save the legs on the long walks up and down the hills.

Happy holidays So friendly and at a bargain price. Would highly recommend. Really enjoyed our stay.

Hotel was really nice. But had terrible experience with pool bar man, asking me through out the week to get my boobs out, touching me every time I was near him, asking me to pole dance for him. My boyfriend had a word but still didn't listen. He said "you have two show me one". On the last day he tried touching my boobs so I threw my drink on him he called the police and nearly had my boyfriend beaten up! Will never ever go back. He even had the cheek to tell my boyfriend I was no good and he should end it with me. I though he was just friendly at the start of the week but after 2/3 days it started getting really strange. He even came up to me asking for a threesome!

You get what you pay for. Seem as though this place was cheap, cant really grumble at all. Pool was good and had comfy sun beds. Was quite easy getting a sun bed with no major battle like some other hotels I have stayed in. Appartment was clean and fairly decent but would benefit from a bit of a refresh. The hotel is a good 5 to 10 min walk to the main bars etc, but it is quite a steep hill so it was always a 3.50 euro taxi for the way back. Only issue with this hotel is the fact that there is no air con in the room which made sleeping at night very uncomfortable. Portable air con units could be hired for 70 euro for the week though or a large fan for either 20 or 30. I regret not doing so. Overall it was a good stay in all and would return.

Lovely place very freindly staff. Pool is spotless, supermarket is cheap as chips. Only problem is there no aircon in rooms and it does get very hot. But apart from that really enjoyed this place I will be back.

Our very first hotel! you can always reamember your first trip to Spain (Gran Canaria) high up in the hills, not recommended for people with walking difficulties GOING DOWN THE EASY BIT ' WHO DOESN'T LIKE PEOPLE GOING DOWN '! EXCITING IF YOU HAVE STAMINER ☆☆☆☆☆

All very well less pay the TV €3 daily; Paying the bail is worth the command but the €3 not. The best service; and the Italian lifeguard.

Pretty good Hotel for the price we got. Comfortable beds with terrace and kitchenette. It had a pool and bar. It's also pretty well located. The only bad thing: it is an area with enough cockroaches and the smaller ones, they went out the drain of the bath … I do not understand how, knowing of this problem, does not put any solution. But well, being one or two … tolerable, because the rest was very well.

Great location, great pool in the structure.

The hotel is very nice and the pool quite large where there is a beautiful rule: if the sunbeds are occupied with towels but there is no one at least or one hour you can move yourself the other towels and lie down.
I don't put 5 full stars because overall they are present besides the bar and restaurant also supermarket and disco not open. The hotel is ideal for those who come with children although a bit far from the beach. Parking is not very close to the hotel.

Only went for a haircut… However the grounds seem tidy, pool area clean, drinks at the terrace bar. Reasonably priced… The haircut… Well pleased 10 € highly recommended.

That not haiga wall between the living room and the beds xd.
