The location of the hotel is perfect. Comfortable 7-10 minutes walking distance to the train station, the cathedral and old Town. Rooms are decent size with comfortable beds, flat screen TV, a safe and telephone and except for the paint scruffs on the walls and the minor mold and mildew built up in the shower, they are acceptable. Although we had not requested, they had upgraded us to a superior room on the top floor (5th) overlooking the street. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had difficulty with the AC and the TV remote needed new batteries. When we were ready for bed and moved the covers, large amount of dust flew around. Later we found out that the room had not been occupied for awhile. I suspect the air from AC when it finally came on must have brought more dust to the room as all of a sudden the desk, the phone, the coffee maker and the rest of the furniture had a thick layer of dust on them. The next morning we were offered a change of room but we opted to stay in the same room after the promise of a thorough cleaning, which was done. In retrospect we should have moved to another room because we did not get any sleep the 2nd night because of the noise from the discotec across the street. Finally called the front desk at 5:00 a. M. And were told that apparently, the young and the restless had begun celebrating Spain's Constitution Day Holiday at midnight and it did not end until 6 a. M. On the 3rd and our final day we asked to be moved to the back of the hotel as we didn't know what adventures we would be having overnight. This second room was quiet. Granted, the noise from across the street was not the hotel's fault. We only interacted with two members of the staff during our 3-day stay. The young woman who tended the front desk in the morning and early afternoon was very pleasant and apologetic. The gentleman in the afternoons/evenings was not as friendly but not rude either. We were offered complimentary breakfast on the second morning by the female staffer, which was a nice gesture.
