BEWARE OF SMARTRENTALS IN MADRID! We visited in June 2017 — this was the address: Calle de la Madera, 25, Madrid 28004 ESWe stayed 1 night of our 5 night stay and wound up checking into a hotel. Never got a response from the manager after the fact, wound up paying in full for 5 nights. AC didn't work, mold in bathroom, shower door inoperable (cut my finger on it), Bathroom sink sprayed water in all directions (not usable). Wi-Fi didn't work, peeling paint on walls, I have pictures to support how bad it was. The absolute worst vacation rental we've ever been too anywhere in the world. VRBO attempted to contact the management — no response.

All well au that we had to change apartment because the hot water did not work. There was No Wi-Fi and it was the center of Madrid.

We rented a superb duplex, very spacious, under the rooftops, and well equipped. Very convenient, located in the hyper Center, to taste delicious tapas in the many restaurants nearby.

It's the second time I go and I'm going back. The Apartments Are very good. Very comfortable beds, good air conditioning Good Flat TV and very good service. As far as the best possible location, in the middle. 3 min from the Gran Via and 5 min from the Metro stop, although I didn't need it.

We had a great time in Madrid, amazing apartment, amazing location situated in city centre, close to everything you want and need. I will definetly recommend SmartRentals to everyone who is going in Madrid!

The location is central. Possibility to walk all the historic center of Madrid. On the other hand, we hear the slightest little noise…
Also the bedding not comfortable.

The apartment in itself is fine. We stayed 2 adults, a girl and a baby in one of two bedrooms. I put two stars despite the fact that the design is very good, but the general feeling is not to go back. Pros: Central, renovated, ask for a cot and we had provided. Cons: NOISY: the apartment is in Chueca, which means that in the bedroom that overlooks the exterior you're not going to be able to sleep because of the noise. And that the windows are isolated, but nothing, in this area it is best to catch something with bedroom interior. If not, you know to what you expose yourself. COLD: surprise me much that no one has spoken of this: the apartments do not have heating, only air pump. This in Madrid is a boner considerable. The apartment is heated, but you can't be with an air as 24h, so there you go turning it off and on all the time in Addition to room interior handles and on the outside you peel. Since then for children is not the best. FRIENDLY STAFF, BUT… : the staff was friendly and attentive, but they should be trained a little more in customer relations. As you're in Chueca, everything is very cool, super cool, but if you do not know anything, do not call me sky, or cielito.

This is advertised as a fully equipped apartment. It is. Has everything you need. The kitchen is excellent and the cooker is family size rather than just 2 rings. There is a toaster, kettle, sandwich maker, liquidiser, coffee maker. There is even a washing machine. The bed is very comfortable and firm as I like it. The shower is good and endless hot water. Air conditioning in the bedroom and front room. Wifi is super fast. All in all, first class and would recommend this apartment.

A apartment amazing! Cozy. With everything you need. Nothing cold even though outside was freezing!

Very cramped living room/dining area. Awkward layout due to gigantic couch and long, immovable bar in the center of the room. Hardly any room between bar and kitchen. This is for unit 2b in building 6. It's in a great location. Windows are double-paned. Very quiet when shut. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is small.

Nice appartments in the middle of the very vibrant Chueca. The appartments are clean, modern and come with everything you need including a small kitchen. However, house service is not included.

Great Apartament, two bedrooms. Great location. Unfortunately the hot water stops functioning some times with no reason. Despite this, no other complaints.

We lived here 5 nights in the summer. Very loud at night, because on the first floor placed irish pub. Appartments not so good, but maybe for Madrid it's ok. Very small kitchen, small amount cutleries.

The apartments themselves were very spacious and could comfortably sleep 6 people. They were furnished nicely and the beds were comfortable. However, the area was very loud (many bars open until 2am), so the rooms on the street were nearly impossible to fall asleep in. Also, there is only one small elevator and if there are many people trying to check out at about the same time, good luck! The staff are also there for only like 6 or 7 hours a day, which if you have a question on what they'd like you to do (with trash, etc. ), ask immediately! It is very centrally located however, just a 20 minute walk almost anywhere. It's about 4 blocks from the main street with plenty of shops and restaurants, and there are a few grocery stores within 2 blocks.

Cozy, quite and inviting. At the heart of Chueca the gay district of Madrid, at a walking distance from the metro station and the city center. The stuff was lovely and took care at any requests we had quickly and with a smile. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty.

I booked a room for certain dates. When I got my confirmation they had changed the dates. I called to tell them about their mistake and they hung up on me. Every time I tried to call again they would just hang up on me. They will not respond to emails or even call from Travelocity whom I booked the room through. They are running a scam by purposely changing dates, charging you and then ignoring your pleas to change the dates. Beware of these scam artists.
