Me he pasado por aca y el ambiente es sin estereotipos, capaz muchos lo vean como para mal pero a mi me ha gustado, las recepcionista encantadoras, no he tenido la oportunidad de quedarme asi que mi reseña no puede ir hacia la estadía del lugar como tal, pero no espero menos si el trato es asi.

We have been staying at the Hotel dos Castillas de Madrid (M), for one night. The Hotel has a great location close to all the landmarks. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is definitely a very good option to stay in Madrid when you want to visit the city.

It's good value for money and also the location is amazing! However it was a nightmare, booked a bed in a dorm with 10 beds — this was on the top most floor, elevator only goes to 6 and then you have to take the stairs. Get to the room and it was hot! AC was not working at all nor were there any fans in the room and the balcony was kept locked! It was extremely uncomfortable, hot and stuffy. Could not get even a bit of sleep despite being extremely exhausted. The staff was really of no help either. Especially the person who checked me in, was rude asked him where I could get a Sim card for the phone and he said he didn't know. When there was an orange phone shop just a 100 meters from the hostel.

Stayed here for 4 nights and was really good value for money. Personally I'd reccomend staying in a room with less people — I stayed in a room with 10 and people were often inconsiderate towards other a while sleeping. Other guests were very loud at night. Only giving 3 stars as my phone charger was stolen by a guest and the staff were incredibly unhelpful and didn't seem to care much about the situation. Also our air conditioning did not work properly — this was not an issue for the first 2 nights as we had age as to the balcony however staff locked this on day 3 and the room was so hot that people couldn't sleep. Beautiful location, and an amazing view!

Hotel in the Center and so quite noisy. Paid parking at 50 meters with discount (€50 for 2 days). Very good welcome. Spacious room only 1 French channel. Decent breakfast and restaurant with menu at 14 € very very correct.

Good Hostel with private bathroom. The staff is super friendly. Madrid is a great city. The hostal is next to the Gran Via avenue in the downtown, well located. A little bit far from the train station, though. But if you are in a good shape and are willing to know Madrid's streets a good walking to get there pays off.

First time I go to a hostel… I had my prejudices… The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything I need there I found… I loved it!

I recently stayed at this hostel… NEVER AGAIN. 'Incompetent' is the best way I can describe the place and staff. The hostel was being renovated and should not have been open, from a health and safety point-of-view. We arrived slightly early and were told to come back at 2pm (which is fair enough). When we arrived back at 2pm, we were given a queue number (9) and didn't get seen until 3:30pm. This delay was due to only 1 of the 5 staff were actually checking people in, with the other person at reception playing on her phone while we checked in. Once we had paid, we were informed that the 4 of us could not be placed in the same room (even though we had booked 2 months previous), instead were split into two rooms (each of which had 4 beds). When we asked for a refund, we were told that only the manager could give a refund and he was out and wouldn't be back for a few hours and he was not contactable by phone. The one redeeming feature was that the rooms were clean so I have no fault with the cleaning staff. However, I will never stay here again!

Great hotel for a stay in Madrid.

The pictures of the room are not real yet so very cheap, clean, central, a nice guy from reception who can most ask for the price you pay!

I really liked the location of the hotel. The room was nice, simple but with everything you need. And very friendly employees.

The location is perfect. To 50 meters of gran Via and 150m of Callao. The staff is super friendly and the room was very clean. It is definitely a recommended hostel.

Be careful. You have to pay in full in advance and if you don't arrive on the first day of your booking they will cancel your reservation and keep all your money. My friend arrived one day after the first day of a 2 week booking and was told the booking had been cancelled because they did not arrive on the first day of the booking (even though it had been paid for in advance! ). This policy makes good business sense in the short term because they can sell rooms/beds twice over but it is bad practice in general because it leaves people with nowhere to stay and is in the end a form of theft.

It is very well located, only the breakfast that I orfetaron is in the bar below and is very scarce, point of improvement for the rest this excellent and very friendly.

The room was cozy but a little dusty and unclean. However, the bathroom was recently renovated but the water wasn't very hot at all. The breakfast didn't offer much variety but was good enough considering it is included in the price.

Very convenient location and staff is always there to help you with anything you may have. The rooms are very clean and comfortable to live in.

Very good location and value for money, just 5 minutes from Puerta del Sol and Gran via. It is ideal to spend the night if the following idea travels through its metro and suburban connections. Perhaps, it would improve the automatic key system to enter the rooms and that the breakfast-I could not enjoy it for the time I left-is within the same establishment.

I don't understand all these bad reviews. It Is a fairly cheap hostel and is located pretty close to all the main attractions in Madrid, so some faults can also get you through. I took a double room and I didn't really have any problems, NE of cleaning services. If I were to go back to Madrid, I might as well take the room here again.

Well, the place is nothing of the other world. But considering that it is super Central, is worth €10 the night and to top you give you some more breakfast, what more can be demanded? I do not understand how people do not value depending on all those aspects, you can not give much more…

Location, ideal for touring in the centre of Madrid. The shared rooms, for the price I would say discreet… also as a structure, for those who do not have so many claims is good. Then a good collation for me… The strong point of this Hostel is certainly the location of the… I think for 2/3 nights, it's perfect for a tourist.

Pretty decent rooms although no locks on the bathroom door. Tolerable beds although quite hard. However. Unfortunately we fell in the middle of a period of work and it seems that the directives are to hammer and put the drills between 8am and suddenly everything stops around 11:30, perfect for a tonic awakening and A start of the day with little onions for little you had partied the evening before.

The value for money is good and the location is excellent. I put 4 stars because the air conditioner is not good enough and I passed some cold.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were allowed to leave the suitcase after the check out to continue touring the city. The room clean and the shower in the bathroom very good.

Great location and some great restaurants within walking distance! Room 101 is very noisy… as opp hotel there is a multi storey car park which rolls it's wheelie bins for the bin man to collect and the noise is awful! Also bar below seems to do cleaning really early!

I was in the month of January 2018 and I was very good the stay in this Hotel is in the heart of central Madrid and 100 meters from the Gran Via.

Very central. The rooms are fine. The restaurant complicated to have a drink, half a day still having tables, if you want a beer, at the bar and standing up. At night for a drink, they close at 12.

Great location, good breakfast included, no storing space in the bathroom, brocken plug suckets, no possibility to store the luggage for a few hours after check-out, despite online check-in it tooks a long time to got our keys.

Very good value for money The rooms are clean and well-equipped, very well soundproofed. Good value for money It is not to enjoy it but to go by step fulfills the function very well.

Good points: Low price and in the city centre. Bedding was OK, and the inclusive breakfast saved me paying for an extra meal. Bad points: Where do I start? It's a dump and needs renovating. My light didn't work, the corridor lighting didn't work, the whole place needed painting and that bathrooms needed refreshing. The lounge area had the atmosphere and air of a prison. Grim! Even so, this hostel was still popular and the cash coming in should be reinvested in repairs instead of lining the pockets of the owners.

It was very good when I boot after two years and completely changed, too much work to not invest in qualified people and customer service and I do not recommend.

The only positivity is the strategic location to visit Madrid! The rooms are old, cold and not very cozy, breakfast is paid (€15) without coffee! The TV looks terrible! Prices very very high compared to average and not commensurate with what it offers! Do not recommend.

The place is nice, floor of the rooms is made of wood, which is good. The only flaw is the Wi-Fi which is well under my threshold of endurance.

Dirty place, the room doors were faulty, the heater didn't work and the blankets provided weren't enough to protect you from the cold. The shower curtain I wouldn't have touched even paid.

My girlfriend and I arrived at the hostel yesterday and at first everything seemed to be fine. We briefly put our things in the room, checked out the bathroom and made our way to explore the city. When we moved to CA. Four hours came back, the nasty surprise awaited us: the whole room smelled as it is imagined in the sewers of Madrid — after sewer! To go to the bottom, did not last long, the bathroom in the bath led no more water and was laid dry, everyone who has experienced the phenomenon, knows how it smelt in the room — we also noticed another problem, in the room were tropical temperatures, the stench — window on, air venting, breathing! After about 10 rinses and the impact airing, the problem finally settled and the smell of the air gradually normalized. A new problem was born. The heat in the room! There are good and happy 24 degrees in the room, there is no controller in the room and the window cannot be tipped, so how to sleep? The outside temperature is currently around 2-3 degrees at night, the ceilings consist of a cloth and a thin rug. If the window was closed, one would have to sleep naked without anything in order not to get in, to suffocate from the anxiety in sleep to sulphur dioxide poisoning, because the toilet is again drained not to mention — for a whole night at 2-3 degrees outside temperature, however, the Cover far too thin.

Spacious and comfortable rooms, with "classic" decor, simple. Very comfortable location to walk around the center of Madrid. The access by car is not easy.

Good for ultra-cheap living at the heart of Madrid. If you'd like privacy (your own room), consider spending a bit more elsewhere.

Very nice place for young travel enthusiasts.

Didn't have hot water usually. Breakfast was mediocre. Had a literal madman gibbering and laughing in our shared bathroom late into the night. Elevator was very slow and didn't reach top two floors. Facilities were clean enough. Receptionists spoke good English and were somewhat helpful.

I stayed here two nights in a mixed room (6 beds). The room was really small, it felt we were stepping over each others luggage all the time (the lockers were small). The bed was ok, but no blanket provided. The bathroom was spacious with a bath tub, though quite old. A person was staying in the bedroom without paying, so there were problems with the beds. I would not stay here again even though the price is low and the location is great, right in the city center.

A few others in different rooms and then myself found bed bugs in our rooms. The Aircon works but the unit outside the window is really loud and others said the same. Some of the fixings / electric outlets are held on with lots of mastic. Breakfast is in a bar downstairs and it is just sugar and toast. Small chocolate chip cookies, plain, small American muffins, cereal — cornflakes or cocoa pops, no soya milk, coffee or tea or toast. I had to remind them about my room key deposit of €5 when I checked out — not automatically given. The washer and tumble dryer work really well.

They have been very accommodating; I checked in several hours early and my room was very clean and tidy. The location is also excellent, close to a lot of shops, and restaurants.

Great location. Rooms are small but you don't go to Madrid to hang out in the hotel room.

Great location. It's eight floors high. The building has an elevator but it's tiny and slow, so if it's crowded the stairs are your best bet. Rooms had air conditioning, but you have to bring your own padlock for the lockers and there are no curtains on the bed. There is some space downstairs with chairs and computers you can use, and they were very helpful when I needed to print something.

Very clean place with a reasonable price.

Nice hotel. Its out dated, with basic rooms. But functional, clean and in great location. The regular rooms are spacious enough. Can`t review the breakfast, didn`t take it but there's couple of places just around the corner to get one. Closed by supermarket, 3 min of walking to Puerto del sol and 1 min from the metro.

Cramped, boiling hot room with plastic pillows and mattresses, dodgy lift and locks on the doors, weird loud vibrating noise every few seconds, I woke up to an insect crawling over my arm towards my face… The only good thing was that there was a bathroom attached to the room, without which I would have dehydrated in the night. Oh and the staff were perfectly pleasant but that doesn't make up for how dreadful it is. Awful place, stay away.

Would have given 0 stars if possible. Rooms are smaller than appear in pictures, bedbugs rampant and treated very rudely by staff. A few dodgy characters there too (to say the very least). We left and moved shortly another hostel nearby where we received a far better treatment. Avoid this place at all costs.

Very small room, with a bad smell :/ the guy of the front desk dont smile.

The rooms were much smaller than the ones in the pictures. Over half of the electrical outlets did not work in the rooms. There was BEDBUGS that bit 3/6 persons in the room over all over the body and face. There was really poor ventilation and night there were a draft through the window. The rooms were ok clean, but there had not been cleaned behind the beds for along time The breakfast was bearly edible and not very appetizing. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hostel was very central in Madrid, conveniently close to many nice neighborhoods — unfortunately it was the only good thing about the place, and it outweighs NOT all the negative aspects! ! WOULD GIVE ½ STAR OR NONE IF YOU COULD!

The room does not correspond to anything with the photos on the web, a real hoax! Arrives and third world, small rooms not! ENANISIMAS! and berths a came almost to the point of des to Jell.

Nice, beautiful Hotel in the centre of Madrid. Relatively quiet location, good access to public transport. Clean, bright room with a bit of a small shower. Breakfast very generous and very nice staff. For us it was the best Hotel we will come back again. For the Restaurant, the same applies actually. Completely satisfied!

Before it all I just want to tell you there are much better places very close by for the same price or one or two euros more. The place badly taken care of, poorly cleaned, the Internet is worse than the one working inside any city bus, by far! The only place where there is internet is at the reception but it is crowded of course by at least 50 teenagers. Overall it is ok if you have a group of six and so you all stay in a room together or if you are 15 years old on the first time away from home.

Location in Madrid was fantastic. Right in the center of everything, didn't even need to take the metro. The front desk associate was wonderful too. Friendly, kind and caring. Everything else sucked. The door to one of the toilets broke and was not fixed, no extra toilet paper in rooms, no soap or anything to use in the bathrooms. Beds were squeaky ikea models. Cleaners and constructors came early in the morning waking everyone up. Breakfast was minimal. Wifi didn't reach room.

Good hostel at a good price, the staff very attentive, point against the Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby.

The hotel itself isn't bad and is quiet but unfortunately the mattress of my room was the worst of my life (and I've slept in quite a few hotels and hostels in less category), so much that I ended up with back pain.

Young and very good location… Lack of cleaning, if you moved the curtains all the dust from the windows levantava, the room a bit poor (only the bed with extra pillows thin and a bathroom simple) Had air conditioning but no funcionava the command. A lamp to the side of the bed it would not be bad, since you have to explore the pasillito up the bed in the dark. Elevator to the 6 floor, if you're in the 7, to upload the suitcases on foot. In terms of the staff. A little pasota. The photos do not correspond to the place, at least the room 705, or point of comparison…

J'ai passé 2 nuits dans cet hotel. Je me suis pleins la première nuit de piqûres. La fille à l'accueil n'a rien fait. Ils n'avaient pas de sprays. Ils ne m'ont pas proposé de changer de chambre ou lit. Deuxième nuit, plus de 50 piqures. Punaises de lit. Horrible. Je n'ai pas dormi de la nuit. Ni mes collocs de chambre. A eviter car ça prolifère vite! I spent 2 nights in this hotel. I am full first night of stings (injections). The girl in the (reception) made nothing. They had no sprays. They did not suggest to me changing room or bed. The second night, more than 50 piqures. Punaises of bed. Horrible. I did not sleep at night. And my mats in thr rooms too. Has to avoid because that proliferates fast! Pasé 2 por las noches por este hotel. Soy llenos la primera noche de picaduras. La chica a la acogida no hizo nada. No tenían pulverizadores. No me propusieron cambiar de cámara o la cama. La segunda noche, más de 50 piqures. Punaises de la cama. Horrible. No dormí por las noches. A lot of dry walling and a little cramped, but nice interiour on the whole. No breakfast but very quaint restaurant close by with that wonderful coffee… The young hostess was very helpful and friendly. Well situated close to Puerta del Sol. Good value I thought.

A lot of dirt, especially in the bathroom and the bar (I think that at my table had breakfast a pork and there was no one to clean).
Crystals just let pass the light and soil. Better wear your slippers.
Debieron pilot floor photos, does not resemble anything, does not match or the admission that the first thing that you see is a sign "back in 5 minutes".
That if, 60 Euros the pair and in advance, I 20 years ago I toured shelters of half of Europe and I could eat on the floor.
Almost cost me the divorce!

It is somewhere very central, very attentive to all reception and they told us good to eat and visit sites. No doubt if we return to madrid would go. Also free Wi-Fi.

In July I stayed with my family at this hotel and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Everything is perfect, location, breakfast, room, everything.

We were in the middle of June and early July 2014, with my wife on our first time in Madrid. The hotel exceeds expectations, with cost benefit very favorable to guests. Excellently placed in the Centre of Madrid, it is served by friendly and professional staff ready to help the traveller and to facilitate the solution to the problems. The rooms are excellent, with efficient services, breakfast varied and excellent quality. I cannot find any factors worthy of being criticized. I highly recommend it, and hope to visit again soon.

Location: on the 4th floor of a building (with lift, of course), this small hotel is central, not the major Avenue and large squares. Staff very welcoming, and very careful. Modern and pleasant decoration.

We are Basque girls we have just come back from spending a few days at the hostel and we love it, and as for the location, better is impossible. (Alberto Guerra, Adrian, Miguel. ) staff is fantastic, they have treated us great and we felt at home. In addition this very clean and excursions organized (pub crawl, the tours) are great to know Madrid environments and interact with people who are staying in the hostel. Thanks for everything, has given us very sad return home. Totally recommended! ;).

I was really pleased with this hotel. The location is fantastic and very quiet despite being in the heart of the city. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the restaurant really good as well with a fantastic price/quality ratio. I'll definitely go back :).

The restaurant is small if you are not a guest of the hotel, but it is very comfortable and nice decorated. The value for money of the menu is very good and they soon take the dishes, perhaps because whenever I've been had people waiting for tables empty.

New, clean and in the center of Madrid. Also very cheap I think we paid only €16 the night. Recommended for shot stays.

Price quality is not bad. Very of battle. For commercial use.

Breakfast was acceptable, but nothing more. Rooms are ok for a 3 star, with free Wi-Fi, nice bathrooms, reasonable space. It can be a little noisy during the night for the people in the street, but maybe it a common problem in Madrid. They tried to charge us twice the same water, but they corrected the invoice without any problem.

The hotel is lovely, extremely quiet though so very central. Just the breakfast room is rather small, and if you're not doublequick the waitress may take your stuff away while you're just getting that spoon you'd forgotten! But otherwise definitely a very good value for money choice. Nosotros vamos a volver.

Really was a pleasure at my first stop in Europe to reach this hotel, the room was perfect, amazing location, hardly had to take transport to reach the main monuments and places of interest in Madrid.
The bathroom was also very pleased, after long walks one can return to take a bath and relax for the rest.
The food was spectacular to be able to split the day. The prices were also very convenient.
I think it would not seek another option if I return to Madrid, he would return to this hotel anyway.
